Bring earplugs. Sound quality is terrible, distorted and way too loud. My watch was giving off constant loud noise warnings. Louder is not better for live music in a small space. Food is fine. Fries are way too salty but average bar food. You can also bring in outside food like Cugino Forno, which is nice. Staff is lovely but if you're coming for live music inside definitely bring earplugs, or headphones for kids. read more

We have come here twice now for their music. We ate here once and had the burgers which were surprisingly good. Service is walk up, order and pickup. Lines can be very long so have patience. Only draw back is unless you buy a table there is nowhere to sit and I get tired of standing for 3 hrs or more, unless you go outside and you can sit at one of the picnic table if there is room. This place is GREAT!!! First time ever being there. I went to go see a reggae band Signal Fire play. Got there kinda early had a buffalo chicken wrap with tots. The price was decent 13 bucks. The wrap was truly tasty and tots complemented it perfectly. Craft beer selection was nice. The staff was super friendly. The building itself was spacious and accommodating. The vibe was truly nice for all ages. There were little kids having a blast and dancing to some really good tunes. This place is great to grab drinks if you have kids. We came around 4 on a Saturday and enjoyed beers and corn hole in the perfect weather. They have a pickleball court too which my son enjoyed running around. They do live music as well. We have gotten their food and the burgers are really good! Great place to see live music, grab a beer and some food. The wings are damn good. Highly recommend. The location is right in the Soda Pop district. They do have limited private parking available. If you can't find a spot, or don't want to deal with it, then just Uber, street parking (limited), or just walk. Very nice draft beer selection with local and regional brews on tap. Full bar available. Large inside location with plenty of places to sit, including a bar. Outside seating is also available. Service is good, no issues. Just note, Bowstrings gets very busy on the weekends and when they have live music. Some of the music requires tickets so check the calendar. read more

One cool thing is that you can place an order on one of their monitors they have set up at the "Order here" section. You'll get a text message when your order is ready. I tried the bowstring burger and veggie burger. The bowstring burger was delicious, I really liked the sauce and raw onions. The veggie burger is not listed on the paper menu, but it is on the computer ordering system. It's a little confusing, because the veggie burger isn't its own order, but you can choose it as a substitute for beef of any of the burgers. So I chose eclectic thinking I would still get ingredients of eclectic, but I did not. The veggie burger was OK. It had beans, and a hint of spiciness from jalapeños. I was still hungry after eating the veggie burger. Packaged chips or queso come with the burgers. The only good customer service was the kid that gave me my order. read more

I had a really great time lastnight at the newbie for the Ultimate Doors. I knew it would be great for live music. I noticed that they added a lot more things to their menu, too. One of them was grilled wings. They do not have a lot of liquor that is found mostly everywhere such as patron or grey goose. Bartenders are good and nice. Joey is a great, one. You can hear the music from sitting outside without paying the price to get in. I also like the fact that you don't have to be 21 to see a show. It's jive to have a place that I can take my 17 year Old daughter. read more

Super happy to see another great beer yard open up downtown and this one is practically in my backyard. They've done an amazing job with the space and it's airy and welcoming and the outdoor area is large and accommodating which is great because I absolutely LOVE how many things they have going in. Music bingo Mondays, live music, stand up comedy. One awesome community event I feel deserves a shining star is they have had cat adoption events where people can come by, sip a beer, some proceeds are donated to local rescues, and maybe a local cat looking for a home finds one! Three cheers for animal love I a district which so badly needs it! Onto the food! Love the burgers here ! The electric is my favorite that has their spicy electric sauce, jalapeños and onion straws. Hubs digs the one with Cheerwine sauce (deelishhh) and bacon. They have jumbo wings! And totally to boot. Only small detail is they do not take phone orders currently and when I tried to order online it's either down or not available. So if you're looking for take out you have to either come by and wait or order DoorDash, but I gets it. Wilmy is getting pretty busy and it's a little bit of order control most likely. I came here to see a comedy show, which was absolutely hilarious. I was really impressed with this place. It was clean and even though it was large, it felt cozy. Usually large venues have an issue with noise but the acoustics in this place were great. I had no problem hearing the people at my table. I was a bit weary about the food because of other reviews but I will say the food I had was fantastic. I had the grilled wings with hot honey sauce and blue cheese dressing. The wings were cooked exactly like I liked them. Nice and crispy. The dressing tasted homemade which I love when places make their own dressings. My husband had a burger. He likes them plain but I took a bite and it was delicious. It was very flavorful despite having no topics. I had several whiskey sours. They were delicious and consistent. read more

Decided to give this new place a try for lunch . The menu is short , only burgers , and no prices listed anywhere on the menus. It's nice that they have a parking lot adjacent to the building. You walk in and it's a huge room , high ceiling and it was loud. There were many 12 people in the building. I found a high top and sat down. Multiple TVs around the room, several arcade games, several gaming machines , a stage and a kids area. The stage is from and center , they have multiple performers lined up - check their website. I saw 2 staff people there , both behind the bar mixing drinks and serving food. Not sure if it's a bar or bar and restaurant. I had to go up to the bar to ask for a menu and get some ice water . I inquired about ordering; I was told just come up to the bar and order and I will delivery it . I sat down and waited for the 3 other people to join me. Burgers are listed but there is no mention to prices and sides or how large the burger patty is- they are 4 ounces. I decided on a Build your own : one patty ,white American cheese and caramelized onions. If you want say a BBQ Bacon Crisp Burger - minus the cheese , you can't do it , it must be a build your own burger. So a build your own burger was ordered ; 2 patties, onion straws , caramelized onions, bacon and Cheerwine bbq sauce. We were told the burgers come with chips. Do not ask for ice tea- they have none , but they do have soda , for the nonalcoholic drinks. All orders were placed and we waited , a long time , and they were not busy . The two burgers we ordered came out , mine was fine but the other one was not . It came with cheese, it was returned to the counter and within a few minutes another came out with : 2 patties, bacon, caramelized onions , Cheerwine bbq sauce , but no onion straws . The burger was perfectly cooked , well seasoned and moist. It was a decent burger. The chips were incredibly salty and had a hint of garlic- I was unable to finish them . The Cheerwine bbq sauce was ok , nothing exciting about it. While we got our burgers , our friends had to wait even longer for theirs .Finally our friend got up and inquired about their burgers - "there's only one person cooking in the kitchen" was the response. They finally did arrive and were what they ordered. Our bill totaled $27- for two burgers and two ice waters. Our first and probably our last time there. They have an interesting line up of musicians but with the service and prices it's not appealing. read more

Love this place it has so much potential with live music. Some of the bad reviews are ridiculous! People looking for gourmet food and ambience??? Or they are upset not enough micro brews?? Service was really good. There is a lot of food to choose from and a full bar. They did drop the ball with our food order one night but management did the right thing. I never got a text notification on my food so it sat there and got cold so they made new food for us. I ended up getting the notification at 130am when I was sleeping so computer issues for sure. I was really excited for this place to open. I mean it's beer and burgers right? Unfortunately it was huge let down on opening weekend. Massive place and it's absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately when you step into the place you feel like you are in a night club. The bar is more tailored to liquor drinkers than beer. Not a good selection of craft beer like I thought. Your typical tropical lightning, a cider, low pitch hazy, tough to be excited here for beer. Even with the huge beer sign above the main bar, the menu had 0 inspiration. Now for the food. I'll just save the review on the burger for myself. I went to bowstring Wilmington for the second time last night! I moved from Raleigh, so I was familiar with the vibes, and the Wilmington location didn't disappoint! Large space and a hefty amount of seating inside and outside. Lots of indoor and outdoor games, too! Not a lot of parking, but I've only been on Tuesday nights and gotten a spot each time. My friends and I went for trivia both times and Meeser Eddie's trivia is great! I used to work at Bull City Ciderworks in Durham and he really matched the energy of TP Trivia Masters (if you're familiar!). The first time, I ordered the kid's grilled cheese and it was delicious! One night soon, I'll get a burger and report back. both times we've been hasn't been super busy, but I'm sure that will grow with time since they just opened. The bartenders have also been very friendly and helpful! Drinks are reasonably priced, and the bathrooms smelled really good (). It's the little things. I just moved here a couple months ago and live right down the street. This place is really laid back with a staff that makes you feel welcomed. They are pet friendly and love when people bring their pups up. Nikki and Cash are two of the best bartenders. They are super attentive and welcome you with a smile and southern sarcasm. I will definitely be back. The kitchen staff is also really nice and the food comes out great. The live music is exceptional as well. read more

Very nice ambiance and good selection of beer. For a place that's mainstay is burgers I expected a higher quality burger. They Patty was thin. A double burger is on the menu and I suggest ordering that. I ordered the BBQ burger and the toppings were delicious! This is a new business and a strong suggestion would be to sell higher quality, thicker burgers and have fries available instead of just chips. read more

Worst burger ever! $16 for a premade patty, cold stale dry bun, 1 small piece of bacon and something green that was supposed to be lettuce!! Under cooked tater tots!! I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. I came late in the night (9pm) thinking maybe it wouldn't be too great like other subpar late night food experiences at other restaurants but this place blew me out the water, even late night. I had the BBQ Crunch Burger and it was amazing. It was a large burger and flavorful, definitely a bang for your buck. Service was great too. Tried out Bowstring Burgers for the first time today at lunch. Nice parking area, large indoor space with plenty of tables and a stage for live music. You have to order food at the bar even if you eat at the tables, so I just decided to eat at the bar. I only like a plain burger with mustard and ketchup so I asked the bartender what would be the best way to order it since they have a lot of "named" burgers. She said the build your own but her computer system would not allow her to list mustard and ketchup so she said she had to order it as "plain" but would give me plenty of m&k. Weird but ok. I asked for a sweet tea and she stated they did not have sweet tea. Hmmm. Getting a bad vibe now. I asked if fries came with the burger she said no just chips. Hmmm. The burger came out as ordered and instead of a bottle of ketchup I get 3 small packets, and there were a very small amount of potato chips. The burger was fine, but similar to a McDonald's burger so overall just a fried burger with a so-so bun. Would I go back? Not for food, but I would for music and beer. read more
