Very clean and well appointed ladies restroom.

As much time as I spend at Mayfaire, I've never popped into this restaurant; however, I had a mid day medical appointment right around the corner and was really hungry afterward, so Coquina Fishbar seemed like a logical place to have a late lunch. I really liked the interior space. It was much larger than I was expecting with very relaxing decor and lots of real plants. It wasn't busy, so I don't know if the excellent service was due to that or if hosts and servers are always so friendly and attentive, but yeah, really really great service. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was one of the best I've ever had; Parmesan was plentiful, and the anchovies tasted quality. I live in the area and plan to take my husband there soon. I think this spot will become one of my favorites.

Great place to stop while shopping ! We both got the shrimp tacos and they were delightful. Perfectly seasoned, the trio of tacos were accompanied by crispy fries. Great service by Will -- lovely seating outside made this the perfect late lunch place.

Excellent customer service, the guy that greets you very polite and nice. Food was good, a guy was playing music and singing so was a lot of fun.

Coquina Fish Bar is an open bright space with a variety of menu choices. The restaurant is located in the heart of Mayfaire Town Center just next to the movie theater and looks festive for the holidays. Phoebe was our server and she was very pleasant and attentive. We started with some beverages and house salad. Then we tried the Scallops platter and the PoQuina Boy. Both very good. For dessert, Phoebe recommended the rum cake. I am more of a chocolate person, but the rum cake came out hot with ice cream! Very good. Just to note, the cake has walnuts, but is not mentioned on menu. Prices were reasonable for seafood, although I thought maybe the portions were a little small, in my opinion. Food and service was really good and I loved the high ceiling inside. Really nice ambiance here. Overall good experience, I would come here again and order something different to try, and maybe enjoy something chocolate for dessert next time.

Nice mix of seafood and Cuban cuisine at Coquina Fishbar at Mayfair. Their conch fritters were top notch and enjoyed the traditional Cubano sandwich. Great place for an afternoon lunch or anytime!

Stopped in after reading reviews on Yelp. Had to try the conch fritters. Great menu and they have a great open patio next to the IMAX. Started with a strawberry daiquiri after minimal food and no alcohol since Thursday. Started with apps on the patio; conch fritters and fish dip then we relocated to inside just in time before the torrential downpour. We had reservations elsewhere but this menu was quite appealing and we were not about to switch venues in the pouring rain. Glad we stayed. Our meals were excellent... I got the blackened Mahi Mahi, my wife got the grilled combo, my son got the grilled flounder, my oldest daughter got the salmon chowder and a burger and my youngest daughter got fried shrimp. Good place for great food and very accommodating staff. Thanks!

I came in on a Tuesday afternoon passing through. This was my second time in. I got a medium rare sirloin and they had $3 Modelo's and margaritas for a special. I opted for the Modelo. The meal was excellent and service top notch. I like the bay windows and all the natural light. The bar wraps around and the place is open concept. I will continue to stop in and eat when I'm in the area. Recommend!

Once entering I had to wait to be seated as the hostess was overwhelmed with the couple before me. She was very nice once it came my turn. I opted to sit on the patio since it was a beautiful evening. The bar seemed crowded with what appeared to be locals. There were only a few of us on the patio but it filled up as I was leaving after a delightful meal. Love the mix of old seaside decor and the memorabilia. This place has history. Now for the food. I had to have the She crab soup as that is one of the things the place is known for. It was tasty. Not a lot of experience with this style soup but I enjoyed it almost as much as I would have a nice bisque. The side salad was a bit small but typical mix and the blue cheese was good but needed more of it. (More on that later) I opted for water tonight as I was trying to behave but they do have a full bar and a good wine list. The waitress was very knowledgeable and when I told her I was going to try one of the fresh catches Carolina style she recommended the Drum. It was very tasty. I would have loved to have more of the Carolina topping to sop up with the nice biscuits they brought out. The Mac and Cheese was also tasty. The vegetable tonight was green beans so that didn't sound very exciting so opted for the Mac. Probably not the healthiest choice but was tastier in my humble opinion. Great experience food wise and my poor server needs a medal or something. She was attempting to cover the bar area and the patio by herself. She was literally running trying to make it all work. She was great but it does appear they need to hire a few more folks to help.

It's sort of Italian and sort of steak and sort of a little bit of everything. Really clean, strait forward , reasonable menu, nice ambience. It feels kind of high end but the pricing is definitely mid range. I selected the tomato basil soup as my appetizer. It came with a nice toasted crustini. It was a really good soup. It tasted fresh. It had a lot of body to it like, maybe they did the tomatoes here in the house from fresh. It was definitely tomato. The basil was kind in the background, but it was a true red sauce. It was almost tomato paste or tomato sauce flavor. I would've not complained if they given it to me over a bit of penne.. It had a really nice flavor on it not too sweet not too acidic really a very good soup. It came out in a footed coffee cup so you're getting about one cup of soup. The main course was the broiled seafood platter. It was anchored by a large piece of mahi-mahi, that was amazingly well prepared, firm and tasty. To the side of that was a wonderful crabcake, one of the best I've had anywhere and definitely the best in the Carolinas. It did not have too much breading and it had a wonderful texture with lots of good crab flavor. Drizzled across all of this were scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were a little overcooked if you asked me. The scallops were sweet and perfect and everything you would want them to be. The side that comes with this is their crab fries which essentially our beer battered french fries dusted with old bay seasoning. If you've ever had the crab fries at the Philadelphia, ballpark, this is the way they do it. For dessert, I ordered the lemon cello mascarpone cake. It comes drizzled with raspberry sauce. I had visions of lemon curd, and what I got was really good and really lemonade and good cake. But it's not a very big slice. I know about the weight staff. I don't know if they're all good, but mine was exceptional and lovely to talk with. The place was very busy. It had a nice vibe to it, it could've been in South Beach or Miami or Los Angeles, not that it was over over the top just that it was very clean and nice and well done. This is a professional restaurant not some amateur attempt. I recommend it.

While our first two experiences left us wondering what all the fuss was about, this latest dinner proved that sometimes good things really do come to those who wait (and keep making reservations). Our party of four settled in with high hopes and rumbling stomachs. Three of us couldn't resist the siren call of the crab cakes, while our fourth companion went rogue with the shrimp and grits. The crab cakes delivered everything you want from this coastal classic--generously packed with sweet crab meat and impossibly light, paired with creamy mashed potatoes that provided the perfect canvas. The shrimp and grits, while delicious, couldn't quite dethrone our reigning champion (Cape Fear Seafood still holds that crown), but they put up an admirable fight. The real showstoppers, however, were the appetizers. My half-dozen Sneads Ferry oysters arrived like little ocean jewels--impeccably fresh, properly briny, with just enough natural sweetness to make you close your eyes and sigh. The mussels swam in a sauce so good I considered asking for a straw, and the calamari managed that rare feat of being both smoky and completely free of any "low tide" funk that plagues lesser versions. Our Sauvignon Blanc proved the ideal supporting actor, crisp and bright enough to complement without competing. The service struck that sweet spot between professional and personable--attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious. The atmosphere isn't quite my cup of tea, but word on the street is they're relocating, so here's hoping the new digs will match the elevated kitchen performance. Sometimes the third time really is the charm. Catch has finally caught up to its reputation.
