I've been waiting to come here for a while. Was in town for work and decided to visit On Thyme for lunch. Service with a smile! The server answered our questions and was very helpful. Joined in on the jokes and fun (always love that). The space is cute! Graffiti type murals, big screen TVs, very hip hop/R&B lounge vibes. Music playing in the background was a great playlist. 90s and early 2000s!!! The food!!! So good!! I had the salmon bites with a side of broccoli and coleslaw. It also came with a Thai chili sauce. My friend had the OMG fish sandwich with a side of fried okra! It was hot. It was fresh. Everything was so good! Oh! And the cocktail. Called the Lue Lue Lemon. Tried On Thyme for the first time and it did not disappoint! The place was buzzing and packed, but they got us a table pretty quickly. Shoutout to the hostess for being so kind and helpful--she set a great tone for a bright, lovely vibe. For a packed house, the kitchen was on top of it. Our food arrived quickly and tasted great. The salmon bites were packed with flavor and the shrimp were a great size. My only complaint? No refills on drinks since they come from a can. Minor detail, but worth noting. I was visiting Wilmington and my friend took me to this place saying it was good so i was expecting a good food, however my experience was not good at all, the wait time to be seated was about 20 minutes which is not bad, once we were inside and placed our order took over 30 minutes to arrive which i think it was excessive i got the the catch of the day I was was so hungry but unfortunately food was not good at all, rice was okay I think needs more flavor and was crispy which means was seating on a heated element before it was served, salmon was okay not bad but not the best and broccoli was the worse very very salty to the point that you could not eat it, i asked for another side of broccoli but i knew it would not arrive soon i ended up leaving before i got my side. My friend got a fish sandwich which i tried and it was good and the Okra as well. Unfortunately i can rate them more than two stars due to the wait time and the broccoli. Been wanting to come here for a long time , been following them on tik tok for quite some time and we finally made, and they understood the assignment . I love the deco, very inviting vibes, good music and available seating. They had plenty of seating to choose from and a full bar. My son ordered a non alcoholic margarita and it was really good, I had a strawberry kool aid and it was sweet but not too sweet. The Philly cheesesteak eggs and OMG! With jazz music as our background a great place to enjoy a mid day lunch hour. You walk in shown a seat and handed a plastic coat short menu, a second menu has meal deals of the day. You then go to the cashier and place your order and pay. My wife and I split the fish, shrimp and fries plate. With fried mushrooms as an appetizer. All the food was served hot from the deep fryer. No, heat lamps used here. They do not have cocktail sauce, but the thyme sauce served with the fried fish and shrimp did not disappoint. It really worked with the dip used on the fried foods. Finally made it to the viral restaurant in Wilmington - On Thyme. And it was, well - right on time. I had to get it to go because I was on the road but the ambiance is upbeat and soulful with good music and beautiful murals throughout. There's a wall of black greats behind the bar that's stunning. There's indoor and out door seating and a small stage with couches and tables outside. Now to the food - I got the viral Philly steak egg rolls. They were huge and lasted for 3 days. They were juicy and filled with meat and cheese. You get 6 and they are really filling. Definitely enough for 2 to share. I also had the shrimp and teriyaki style wings that came with fries. All the food was good and hot. I will definitely be making a return trip when I'm in the area. Service was great as well. The order took a minute but it's made to order so that takes time. Food was very good, however the queso fries were missing the crab and queso. The shrimp was fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful with great service. Hell yeah I recommend On Thyme! Came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night - ordered the egg rolls and wings. I hadn't had a bone-in wing in years (it's a mental thing), but man did I eat those up. We loved it so much we DoorDashed like 3 separate orders the following day. I would say bone in is better than boneless but both are great. You cannot go wrong with any flavor. All the employees are kind, attentive, quick, and hard working. A host seats you and then you order and pay at the counter. Servers then deliver to you so once you order just set back and relax. We drove an hour to visit this location, based on hilarious IG posts. I'm glad we did, as it was a pleasant experience. It's a smaller space than I expected, and it was too cold to sit outside. I understand that they've expanded since we visited. The food met all of our expectations. We had the sampler, wings, and the chicken sandwich. Everything was tasty and well-seasoned. I love the personalized tables and ambiance. It was late, within an hour of closing, and people were still coming in, but they did not rush them. My husband is in Wilmington, NC for work and was in there tonight and he felt like there was some racism happening towards him. He was a minority in the resturant and had a very unsettling experience. It is unfortunate that people are treated so poorly in this resturant. He ordered his food from the owner and she put the food in as dinein and they brought the food out in a to go bag and made him feel like he didnt belong and he needed to leave. When the Philly Eggrolls were given to him, they said "the eggrolls have never been made like this, enjoy them" and walked away. This is AWFUL and I would not recommend this resturant to anyone and people should be ashamed of themselves. We are going to contact a North Carolina Cilvil rights attorney and the North Carolinas Human Relations Commission and the DOJ. We dont want anything from them except for the racism to stop. Discovered this treat of a restaurant while on a college tour of UNCW with my son. It was wonderful and can't wait to visit again! Everyone was so friendly from the minute we walked in until we left. I can't fault this place on anything, so it gets a 5. They have a good sanitation rating, 97.5, friendly employees, good prices, and really, really tasty food!! Their outdoor area is the place to eat! It's huge for this area of town, and they have fans everywhere to help with the heat and the flies. The inside is small and dark, but it's fine. The hot honey chicken sandwich was so damn good! I know it's going to be one I crave. The flavor was spot on, the breading delicious, and it was cooked perfectly! Visiting from Atlanta and i wish they had this there! Food was amazing! Everything was great. Favorites were the egg rolls, hot lemon wings, and surprisingly the hush puppies were amazing.
