I finally got to try On Thyme! I was super excited about it bc they have a very good reputation in town. All the food came out on time and hot. Appetizers ordered were the Philly egg rolls - the portion was large and generous well seasoned but was very heavy and greasy. I did blot with a paper towel and we were all good there. 6 wings in hot lemon cooked to perfection I like mine crispy as they were. I didn't like the hot lemon sauce but husband did. my entree was the grilled shrimp skewers side was rice and broccoli, shrimp was cooked to perfection the broccoli was good it had a lot of butter on it tho I could have done with out that. I didn't care for the flavor of the rice but it was hot and cooked well. husband had fish sandwich side of fries. His fish sandwich was stacked with two large pieces generous portions - he was well pleased The server was so nice and everyone was super attentive to us. Everything seemed clean nice decor and stuff. The total we paid 75 dollars which included two drinks and 1 adult drink. Nice establishment. read more

I've been waiting to come here for a while. Was in town for work and decided to visit On Thyme for lunch. Service with a smile! The server answered our questions and was very helpful. Joined in on the jokes and fun (always love that). The space is cute! Graffiti type murals, big screen TVs, very hip hop/R&B lounge vibes. Music playing in the background was a great playlist. 90s and early 2000s!!! The food!!! So good!! I had the salmon bites with a side of broccoli and coleslaw. It also came with a Thai chili sauce. My friend had the OMG fish sandwich with a side of fried okra! It was hot. It was fresh. Everything was so good! Oh! And the cocktail. Called the Lue Lue Lemon. A tad on the sweet end but tasty nonetheless. I'll definitely be back when I visit Wilmington. read more

Tried On Thyme for the first time and it did not disappoint! The place was buzzing and packed, but they got us a table pretty quickly. Shoutout to the hostess for being so kind and helpful--she set a great tone for a bright, lovely vibe. For a packed house, the kitchen was on top of it. Our food arrived quickly and tasted great. The salmon bites were packed with flavor and the shrimp were a great size. My only complaint? No refills on drinks since they come from a can. Minor detail, but worth noting. Overall, a great experience and I'll definitely be visiting again! read more

As a native of Wilmington, NC it is wonderful to find a restaurant that I can patronize when I return home. The atmosphere is lively and well decorated. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We wait 15 minutes for a table on a busy Friday night, which we were notified of before adding our name to the list. The food was delicious and cooked to order. My nephew loved the cheesesteak egg rolls and the fried shrimp were amazing. The chicken sandwich and cheese were large portions and we could not eat it all. But my brother-in-law did eat his entire poor boy (lol). I will be back the next time I come home. read more

I was visiting Wilmington and my friend took me to this place saying it was good so i was expecting a good food, however my experience was not good at all, the wait time to be seated was about 20 minutes which is not bad, once we were inside and placed our order took over 30 minutes to arrive which i think it was excessive i got the the catch of the day I was was so hungry but unfortunately food was not good at all, rice was okay I think needs more flavor and was crispy which means was seating on a heated element before it was served, salmon was okay not bad but not the best and broccoli was the worse very very salty to the point that you could not eat it, i asked for another side of broccoli but i knew it would not arrive soon i ended up leaving before i got my side. My friend got a fish sandwich which i tried and it was good and the Okra as well. Unfortunately i can rate them more than two stars due to the wait time and the broccoli. As always this is my personal opinion. read more

Been wanting to come here for a long time , been following them on tik tok for quite some time and we finally made, and they understood the assignment . I love the deco, very inviting vibes, good music and available seating. They had plenty of seating to choose from and a full bar. My son ordered a non alcoholic margarita and it was really good, I had a strawberry kool aid and it was sweet but not too sweet. The Philly cheesesteak eggs and OMG! The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were packed with flavor, they were juicy and cooked perfectly. My son orders a shrimp burger and it was fantastic I orders a burger it was big and flavorful. The price was good for the amount of food you got! Service was awesome and when in Wilmington again, we'll be back! read more

Came in on a friday around 5pm with my mom. Wasn't too busy thankfully and got a seat indoors. We had Destiny as our waitress and she was awesome. We got the philly egg rolls and they were amazing and so flavorful. I ended up getting the fried cajun po boy and fries and i had no complaints. My mom got the fish basket and she liked it just wishes they had homemade cocktail and tartar sauce. I would recommend this to anyone in the area! read more

I was in town visiting family and found this place. I ordered the shrimp po Bo, I definitely recommend it. Really nice atmosphere

On Thyme was a great little adventure. Awesome, fried shrimp fish and mushrooms. None of the fried foods sat under a heat lamp. Piping hot direct from the deep fryer. With jazz music as our background a great place to enjoy a mid day lunch hour. You walk in shown a seat and handed a plastic coat short menu, a second menu has meal deals of the day. You then go to the cashier and place your order and pay. My wife and I split the fish, shrimp and fries plate. With fried mushrooms as an appetizer. All the food was served hot from the deep fryer. No, heat lamps used here. They do not have cocktail sauce, but the thyme sauce served with the fried fish and shrimp did not disappoint. It really worked with the dip used on the fried foods. The ranch worked as well with the fried mushrooms. Would return when visiting the area again. read more

Southern, soul, comfort food. The egg rolls are a MUST! The best we've ever had! The shrimp burger was like a po-boy with delicious, golden fried shrimp. And the fried fish was flaky + crispy. The vibe here is chill with a mixture of Hip+Hop and R&B playing in the background. Ohhh...lemme not leave out the SWEET tea.... perfect for these southern dishes. read more

Great food! Amazing service and great vibes. Everything's on point been here a few times and enjoyed every meal and experience.

Hell yeah I recommend On Thyme! Came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night - ordered the egg rolls and wings. I hadn't had a bone-in wing in years (it's a mental thing), but man did I eat those up. We loved it so much we DoorDashed like 3 separate orders the following day. I would say bone in is better than boneless but both are great. You cannot go wrong with any flavor. All the employees are kind, attentive, quick, and hard working. They serve a crowd and they do it quickly while also doing it right and making sure customers are happy. Parking available on the street. Looks like they're redoing the outside area for more future seating. Inside is small and tight but it makes it that much more enjoyable. I cannot wait to go back. Oh, and if you don't follow them on Instagram, you need to do that too!! read more

Finally made it to the viral restaurant in Wilmington - On Thyme. And it was, well - right on time. I had to get it to go because I was on the road but the ambiance is upbeat and soulful with good music and beautiful murals throughout. There's a wall of black greats behind the bar that's stunning. There's indoor and out door seating and a small stage with couches and tables outside. Now to the food - I got the viral Philly steak egg rolls. They were huge and lasted for 3 days. They were juicy and filled with meat and cheese. You get 6 and they are really filling. Definitely enough for 2 to share. I also had the shrimp and teriyaki style wings that came with fries. All the food was good and hot. I will definitely be making a return trip when I'm in the area. Service was great as well. The order took a minute but it's made to order so that takes time. This place stays busy so get there early. So glad I gave it a try and can't wait to try other menu items. On Thyme is right on time. read more

Great neighborhood cafe, with amazing tastes and a kitchen with tons of surprises, all of them good. Lots of seating in and out on pleasant days but enough inside seating on rainy days. A host seats you and then you order and pay at the counter. Servers then deliver to you so once you order just set back and relax. There are daily specials but I would urge you to try the Cajun shrimp po-boy. It has layers of flavor down to the fresh shrimp. The bread is grilled and holds up well to the shrimp, special sauce, lettuce and tomato. read more

After having read so many rave reviews on the food, we expected it to be great, and it was. The Shrimp and Fish basket was perfectly prepared and huge! The Cajun Shrimp Po Boy was well seasoned with a generous amount of shrimp. What we didn't expect was the great bar service. Special shout out to Jevaughn - friendliest and most competent bartender we've had in a long time. Go there. You won't be disappointed! read more

Friendly staff and delicious food. I ordered the OMG Fish Sandwich with a side salad. While the sandwich was a little light on coleslaw, the fried fish was well seasoned and freshly prepared. Tried On Thyme today and it did not disappoint! I got the fried shrimp and wings with fries and oh my goodness the food was delicious. Even picking up my food as a takeout order and driving it 20 mins home the fries were still crispy, the wings were cooked perfectly, and my favorite was the shrimp with the best dipping sauce ever. Also the staff were all so so nice and on top of everything. Thank you On Thyme for over delivering on my expectations. read more

We drove an hour to visit this location, based on hilarious IG posts. I'm glad we did, as it was a pleasant experience. It's a smaller space than I expected, and it was too cold to sit outside. I understand that they've expanded since we visited. The food met all of our expectations. We had the sampler, wings, and the chicken sandwich. Everything was tasty and well-seasoned. I love the personalized tables and ambiance. It was late, within an hour of closing, and people were still coming in, but they did not rush them. Staff told the customers what was still available and seated them as though they were family. I would definitely recommend. read more

This place was highly recommended for me to try out and I finally went good energy environment, friendly staff and the owner Corey down to earth. I value customer service at an all high time and let me tell you OTR's handles business. From the cashier (Hannah) to the staff helping, greeting and showing people what and how they operate when it was their 1st time I appreciate it! It does not go unnoticed, not let's get to the food I put this on my mamma, I'm happy this establishment isn't where we I've as I would be there weekly or maybe daily.... We ordered a It Takes Teo because I really wanted to try the egg rolls, however really wanted some wings and wanted to check out the shrimp. I definitely should have just ordered the platter but being a Louisiana and having a Shrimp Po-boy I had too. Both the It Takes Two and Shrimp Po-Boy was delish, I would definitely come back however I think I would preferred to just order wings as that Honey Hot sauce was legit! My daughter ordered the Chicken sandwich and she said it was delish. The vibe is laid back with some early 2000's music playing in the back ground making you nod your head as in man I haven't heard this song in years, definitely will be bringing the entire family back 10/10 worth the drive! read more

Let me start with I love supporting locally owned businesses that show Diversity. Me and my wife decided to try the establishment from food critics that showed praise for the restaurant. We have just left Carolina beach so this was a perfect way to end the trip. Got there around 6:30pm, not as busy and decided to sit at the bar. Great lighting and entertainment systems. We ordered the Shrimp Burger and the Fire grill shrimp basket. It took an hour for our food to arrive while customers who got there after us received theirs, don't know how to feel about that.. just didn't sit right with us knowing that the restaurant is Minority owned. A perpetuation of how people of color are treated in a restaurant setting. read more

Delicious! The wait can be long depending on what time you go but that's only bc this place is so good. Well worth the wait each time I went. The menu isn't huge and your food gets to you hot and fresh every time. Got the it takes two app and the fish sandwich. One of the best meals I've had in ILM so far. Chill, casual ambiance. read more

Couldn't recommend enough! Husband and I had the fish and shrimp basket, surf and turf burger. Perfectly fried shrimp- I'd eat bucket loads of just the shrimp it's that good. I love my tartar sauce with fried flounder, however I'd ditch it for their house sauce. Service is great, quick, friendly. Atmosphere is energetic and love that it's grab a menu order and sit wherever. read more

Service was fine, it's a loud environment for sure, we got the Philly egg rolls which were huge they were okay but they just come in a basket with no plates so the filling ends up everywhere. My son's burger was a 4, the rolls were a 3, the lemon pepper wings with shrimp were a 4. read more

The flavor of the castle burger was good. But... Both patties were small (close to 2.5 inches in width) which meant they were in the center of the bun. So you end up having several bites before you reach the meat (a bunwhich). There wasn't much ventilation so we came out smelling like fried food. The music was great but loud so it's hard to have a conversation. read more

I can't fault this place on anything, so it gets a 5. They have a good sanitation rating, 97.5, friendly employees, good prices, and really, really tasty food!! Their outdoor area is the place to eat! It's huge for this area of town, and they have fans everywhere to help with the heat and the flies. The inside is small and dark, but it's fine. The hot honey chicken sandwich was so damn good! I know it's going to be one I crave. The flavor was spot on, the breading delicious, and it was cooked perfectly! The fish sandwich also had a great breading and flavor. It's a good thing this place isn't too close to me because I'd be there often. read more
