Had to do a last-minute catering order as a local mom and pop smokehouse never responded to us after several attempts. My wife placed an order for fried chicken and barbecue and we couldn't have been happier. Abundant amount of food that was well prepared and delicious. The sides were excellent as well. Plenty of plates and add-ons so we didn't have to worry about anything else. The order was ready to go when we got there and our guests loved it! The chicken sandwich was fine. However, my issue is that there was a dog (no indication it was a service dog) in the dining room indoors. I expressed my discomfort to the employees. They asked if I was allergic. I said no and they did not ask the dog to leave and sit at an outdoor table I believe tbe law is no dogs in businesses serving food. I will not be back! read more

Came through with my grandparents to grab dinner. Food ordered the MANAGER literally blew in his glove with his breath and put it on to prepare our food. He didn't think it was seen but i saw him and when explaining to him what i seen him do he said he blew into the exterior. I received excellent customer service from Heidi. I was in the restaurant for two different occasions. Once I came inside. Heidi waited on me and helped me pick the best way to get food for me and my family. She was patient and very helpful. She took the time to let me know all the different options available. I really appreciate her help and knowledge of your menu options for your customers. Then I came by on another day through the drive-thru. Again, I was greeted by the wonderful Heidi. She was smiling and happy . They made me feel like she really cared about her customers. She offered to let me try one of your drink products that I had not had before. It was very good. I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches in the drive thru and nothing else. That was at 10 :45 am. I was asked to move up to the pickup area where I waited for 12 minutes finally getting my lukewarm sandwiches, all the while watching the 2 cars that ordered behind me get their food and drive away. Buy the way the chicken sandwich consists of 2 tenders on a hamburger bun. No pickles. No mayonnaise. Nothing, I did not even get napkins, which weren't needed anyway because the sandwiches were as dry as anything I have ever eaten. I will never spend my money at Smithfield again. read more

I checked several places on Yelp and decided on SCNB since I had been to their other locations before. It was mid-afternoon past the lunch rush and I got a sandwich, sweet tea and fries to go. I had to wait a few minutes but then a staff member brought out my order and very politely thanked me. Stopped in for lunch, there were just a few tables filled with patrons. First thing I noticed that it was incredibly loud in the restaurant, sound just bouncing off the wall - not pleasant. We ordered , dIfficult with the noise in the restaurant. Ordered a chicken tender value pack and a chicken tender sandwich. We received our beverages and found a seat. We were told that it would be a few minutes, they were cooking the tenders . We were offered our beverages to be freshened up while we waited. The tenders arrived ; hot , crispy, moist and flavorful. This was absolutely the worst experience. I went through drive through and waited 30 minutes for 5 chicken tenders. At first the person at the window said a 10 minute wait. That ended up being 30 minutes. That's unacceptable!! I know staffing is the issue but tell the customer the truth before they pay so they can decide if they want to move forward. Food was not bad (except the pecan pie is pre-packaged Sara Lee), but experience was awful. We were on our way to hotel after long day of driving, and we were tired and hungry. I ordered THREE meals online to pickup about the time we would arrive. Got there 15 minutes later and went inside, but there were no directions as to where to pick up. I finally got the attention of one of the teens behind the counter. She went to a register, asked my name, then printed a ticket and put it in the queue with all the drive-thru and dining room orders. So much for saving time. So I waited. And waited, and waited. Finally saw them put my order together (I could tell by the three pies). And set it aside! So I again got someone's attention and asked for my order. Love Smithfield BBQ but on recent inside dining at lunch they were very busy and most waiting in line were without masks and they were not disinfecting tables between use. They have a great shrimp burger. I have them add lettuce and pickles and I add cocktail sauce. Also if you get a pint of the Brunswick Stew, with is incredible, you can get an additional one for only $1. I freeze the 2nd container. Always very clean dining room and great drive through help, but I do drive through and eat half of it before I get home! Also, they have a great southern mustard potato salad I recommend as well. read more
