Me and my wife went there for the first time after seeing many commercials that made us want to try it. We love Mexican and this place made us feel as though it would be more authentic. It definitely did not live up to the hype. The food was adequate at best. I had the three tacos with beef, carne asada, and chicken. My wife had the ACP with steak. And we had a couple of margaritas. The margarita were very good but at $16 each, they had better be. They were in plastic cups versus a typical marg glass at most restaurants. My tacos came with the meat on one corn tortilla each at $4 each. Luckily they do have the condiment bar for cheese, onions, salsa, etc. Her ACP at $17 was good, but it was nothing special. The meat was very fatty and she threw most of it away. You order at the counter and when you pay you are asked for a tip. I will say the chips and queso were very good. All in all after paying over $80 for a meal that made me feel as though I were at a fast food place, I was left disappointed. Oh, and you are expected to clean up your table and throw your trash away when you are done, separating the plates and utensils. Got the birria here a couple times and it was bad. The meat was very dry, there was no melted cheese in the tortilla with the meat, the tortilla was completely flavorless and not crispy at all (which every other Mexican place does) and it was covered with bland queso fresco that only made it soggier. For $25 this birria was abysmal. The salsa was decent, though canned salsas are usually better. The guacamole was tasty and fresh, as were the chips. I wasn't sure what to expect of this place, as from the outside it looked like a fast food joint. In a way it is, but with a fun atmosphere. It's a colorful place, larger interior with fun signs all over to read, good music, and a counter to order food. No sit down service except the staff brings your food when ready. Drinks include beer and a variety of margaritas. At the counter, a couple was getting their order in, so I had a little bit of time to check out the food options. There was a variety to choose from so I went simple by ordering two tacos. Ordering three is a better deal but I thought two would be enough for me. I ordered the Al Pastor and the Carnitas tacos. It took a while for the food to come out. They have a salsa bar where I topped each taco with cilantro, pico de gallo, red salsa, etc. The tacos were tasty but the Al Pastor was a little too fatty. I preferred the pork Carnitas. There wasn't a lot of meat in each taco. I compare this place to one of my favorites in Maryland where they serve the meats over two tortillas that I can split the meat between both tortillas. Prices seem a little high for a fast food type place, but I plan to go back and try other items on the menu. And one of their margaritas too! read more

Wow this place is very expensive considering the drinks are in plastic cups, you order at the counter, food is average Mexican food and the attitude of the workers is unfriendly. The decor is cute, the place was clean, the food was delivered quickly and the portions were generous. Having the various drink options that you can't find generally was nice. But the price of the food was surprisingly high, the staff did their job but there was zero engagement over what was absolutely necessary, the music was a little grating with certain songs and a little higher than I think was necessary. We used to go to a high end Mexican restaurant in California and it was a significantly nicer place, better quality food, unique dishes and full service with great staff for not much more. Finally! An authentic taqueria with fresh, made-in-house corn tortillas. Naturally gluten free and oh so delicious. This place is already doing more business than I've ever seen at the previous restaurant in this location. The line can get long during peak hours, but it moves at a good pace and the wait allows for ample time to peruse the lengthy menu. You order and pay at the counter, then take your number and find a seat. There are booths, tables, and countertops available, depending on your needs. Multicolored art adorns the walls and ceilings, and lively music plays from the speakers. On my first visit, I opted for the two taco combo, the Tinga verde (chicken) and the Carnitas (pork), served with rice and beans. The tacos are served unadorned, and there is a salsa bar next to the soda fountain to add whatever goodies you like. There were three different salsas available - my favorite is the milder red salsa, although the tomatillo salsa is tasty too. There's a hotter red salsa available, and hot sauce on the tables for those who need to kick it up a notch. There's also a plethora of other add-ins: cilantro; radish; lettuce; tomatoes; cheese; pinto beans and more. Another revelation are the aguas frescas available. I enjoyed the Jamaica (hibiscus) very much, a great accompaniment to the meal. And the horchata is delicious! Looking forward to trying a rumchata on a future visit. I went on 5/25 and got a to go order and when I went to eat it it was much later due to my schedule and it was incorrect but they were already closed, so I went back in on 5/26 and they remade it for me and were so nice about it. Not my first or last time here! And not my first review of this place either. LOVE THIS PLACE!! This time I had the Taquitos Chingones ($15.49) which is 4 boneless short rib barbacoa tacos with oaxacan cheese, onions & cilantro with there perfect consome! It's not made everyday so I get excited when I go and it's there. And as always, the place was clean, the staff was friendly and the chips and house salsa were great. I do love that they have a large salsa and toppings bar because then you can create your own unique plate to your liking. They have this amazing dark smokey salsa (pictured) that I wish I could bring home in a gallon size I could put that on everything. I of course can't wait to go back... maybe today! read more

The ambiance is nice and bright, it seems very authentic, from the drink selection to them cooking it right behind the counter. It's not formal and the staff is very kind, but from the few different things I have tried it's been just ok. And for the price, it's totally not worth it. When you walk in there's a line to order at the counter. The man at the register was very pleasant and efficient. This was the first place we ate at since the pandemic. They were not busy at all as it was only my family and one other group. Tables were spaced appropriately. There was a little confusion when our food was coming out. The first two items they attempted to deliver belonged to the other table. Luckily the waitress asked us before bringing the food too close to use or setting it on our table. Our food came out kinda randomly. My husband got his rice bowl first. A few minutes later I had my steak quesadilla and tacos, and last my son got his steak tacos. I did have to go up to the counter to ask for the side of rice and beans my son ordered but they brought it out after I told them we were missing it. I know a lot of restaurants are getting used to being open again and had been doing to-go only for months now so I'm not doing to knock off stars for experience. The steak quesadilla was great! I was super excited to try this place out! I went on opening day and let me tell you I was very impressed. The people that own this also own Papis Chicken so I knew it was going to be good. Staff was super friendly and very helpful when deciding what I wanted to try. The space is a good size and there is plenty of seating including tables and booths. You order up front and they bring you your food to your table. Menu can be a little tricky so just make sure you read the descriptions or ask the staff! I ordered a sweet tea because they did not have there liquor license yet but I am very excited to go back and try them. I ordered a couple items off of the menu. They include the gordita the grande quesadilla and the tacos. Some I had with the chicken or steak and both were very good! They also have a toppings bar with all the options to add to your food. Also the rice was amazing!! Best I've ever had. Food came out quick and was delicious, I also like there salsa a lot. I have been super excited to try this place out since it's the only place I've heard of that sells Birria Tacos in this area (or Taquitos Chingones on their menu). I was presently surprised by the environment (even though the salsa bar could have used a wipe down). Very trendy environment with plenty of bright images. When I went to eat it was later, and there were only two other small groups in there. It still took a good 30 minutes to get our food, which isn't bad but just a little confusing since it wasn't poppin. The Casa Margarita was great! However the Taquitos Chingones were a tad bland, I think I expected a little more flavor from the images. Overall I would come back if I was in the area, but I don't know if I would take the specialty trip out like I did this time. read more

Ok - so we decided to give this a try. The place was clean, service was good. The food was ok - I had 3 different tacos: fish, beef, chicken. Fish was the best. Chicken was dry. Hubs had taco salad. He said it was good. They had a bar with toppings and salsas (no sour cream?). Biggest reason for 3 stars- too pricey for what it was. Menu prices for our food added up to $23... but we were charged $40 (before tip!). Unless tax and 2 fountain drinks add up to another $17 bucks, we were grossly overcharged. This was our first time here and we referred by some friends as this being the best Mexican restaurant in Leland. As we started to walk inside we were taken back because we thought it was going to be a sit down, waiter/waitress service style restaurant and it wasn't at all. I was on the fence about staying because I was looking forward to a nice sit down meal but we went ahead and tried it. The food was amazing!!!! Pricey as if you were still at a sit down full service restaurant but you're going to a walk through order at the counter instead. All the alcohol drinks are displayed at the counter and given to you right then. You're given a number and the food is brought out to you. The tables felt pretty large and it was loud so we felt like we had to talk a little louder but it wasn't terrible. It was all in all really enjoyable. The food was filling, great tasting, large amount, and busy which is always a great sign. I do recommend it! But if you're looking for a more intimate style setting, not quite the place to go. read more

Oh my! Look what I went and did. We had originally planned on getting delivery from another place here in Leland, but fate stepped in and slapped me up the side of the head when I saw this mecca of all things beautiful and delicious on Yelp (where else?). Just browsing through the menu had my mouth watering and my stomach growling, "YES, YES, YES!" So many choices and really, so little time, but I persevered and made some picks for both Kathy and me to help celebrate Yelp's Big Night In. Let's take it in the courses I did select: An appetizer in two choices, a double order of the tortilla chips with guacamole (some avocado gave its all for this, and I am appreciative!) followed by a single order (good thing as the serving was HUGE) of the steak fries with a wondrous mixture of Papas fritas con carne asada arriba, chipotle aioli, cebollines, repollo Delgado (morado y blanco), jalapeños y Sazonador Chingon. No, I can't speak Spanish, but to translate into English, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Kathy had the Quesadilla chica (small and a good thing as well; would have take a whole week of Herbalife smoothies to recover from this as it is); an incredible mixture of Mexican sausage, servida con lechuga, tomates, crema mexicana y queso fresco. Again, in moans and groans (with assorted slurps and belching to complement the chef), a delight to the eye and taste buds. I, however, chose the Chill-Wey Burrito that included 12' flour tortilla filled with house made chile relleno, carne asada, cilantro, onions, pico de gallo, refried beans, rice and salsa roja. Cue the moaning and groaning followed by sighs of contentment. Wonderful mix of flavors and textures that filled me up (and out!). No desert was ordered, which is a good thing as there was no room in the inn.
