Margarita
Emily J.

A girlfriend and I came for dinner last night- we were in need of tasty drinks and some delicious food. She ordered the massive margarita and the arroz con camerones which is normally my favorite dish. However.... I saw that there was a new addition to the fajitas offering- CHEESY FAJITAS! It was the perfect meal- steak fajitas, onions, green bell peppers, covered with cheese, with a side of refried beans, and another side of guacamole, sour cream, and pico along with several warm tortillas. It was delicious, filling, and went perfect with my mango mojito.

Speedy Gonzalez. Chicken enchilada and a beef taco; rice too.

I was hungry for Mexican food and drove by this place, so I decided to try it out. I ordered a lunch special, the Speedy Gonzalez: A beef taco, chicken enchilada and rice. It came out quickly, along with chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crispy. The salsa was plain. No heat to it. The taco shell had a nice crunch but the beef was bland. Absolutely no flavor. The same with the chicken enchilada. No flavor at all. And the red sauce that topped it tasted like a mix of tomato sauce and ketchup. Really bad lunch. I didn't even finish the enchilada. Service could improve. The waiter never came by to see if I needed anything and I had to wait for a bit to get my bill. The place is pretty noisy with music in the background and hearing noise from the kitchen. Thanks, but I won't be returning here.

***Third Visit*** When you visit Wilmington and you want authentic Great Mexican food with an AWESOME VIBE come visit El Cerro Grande! I've completed a couple reviews on this awesome place but the 3rd time might have been even better than the previous two! El Cerro Grande which comes with two enchiladas, chili relleno, taco, tostada + rice & beans! I also tried their Fish Taco's, Chicken Fajitas, and you can't go wrong with a cold Michalada or Beer of your choice! Super chill and the wait staff was excellent!

Service was great, a little short staffed but the waitress was very nice. Food was great! Wish I had asked for cheese instead of meat in the chili, but it was really good . The restaurant was a little cramped and crowded but overall really accommodating at everyone. I liked it a lot

Quesadilla Rellena

The atmosphere and decor were great but let's get to the food. The chips were average. The quesadilla I got was The smallest quesadilla I've ever seen. Rice was solid though. This place is average at best. Service was great btw

I'm obsessed with the homemade hot sauce!

Love eating here! Service is great and I can't get enough of the homemade hot sauce! Great food, drinks, and service!

Skinny Margarita!!! Yummy!!

Forgot to get a picture! Server is wonderful as always, but I don't think he listened to what I wanted fully. I asked for one spinach and one chicken enchilada! Extra shredded cheese! Now normally they ask if I want red or green sauce and I always prefer green! The dish come out flowing with red sauce- so much that the food was just horrible- couldn't even eat the chicken enchilada at all. Now I did get the fried ice cream- which is always ON POINT! Best crew- always good food- just think the crew/team need to make sure they listen and confirm orders! First time I had a bad experience so I will be back!

The staff is friendly and the place is very lively. It seems to be a little quieter at lunchtime, no waiting for a table at this time. They also have outside seating. We ordered the birria sandwich, think amped up grilled cheese with very tender meat. It comes with the dipping sauce and a side of ultra crispy French fries. Next up is the enchiladas verdes with steak. This dish comes with refried beans and rice. So, so good. Food is not greasy at all. The verde sauce is delicious and not at all spicy. Really tasty. We always want to try dessert, but we were in the middle of our workday, so we passed this time. Their breakfast here is outstanding, go for something authentic, rather than your typical "American " breakfast items. You won't be disappointed with any choice here. We have loved everything so far.

Not only did our waiter check in on us in an appropriate time frame but (Who I believe is the manager) came in to check in as well. Not just us though, EVERY TABLE! The food was amazing, the mimosa flight was just the right amount for an afternoon drink. We had the birria tacos, ACP, and breakfast skillet.10/10 amazing. I honestly have zero negatives for this establishment. We had an amazing time and the food was amazing as well. We WILL be back.

The restaurant is especially known locally for its authentic Mexican breakfast dishes, birria, and chilaquiles. I gave it a try with some coworkers for the first time in the Wilmington location, a it was fantastic. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I tried the Dovorciados eggs (two sunny side up eggs on top of a crispy corn tortilla with red and green salsa, separated by refried beans, and queso fresco.) with the Cafe de Olla. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt cozy and authentic. Easily one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in Wilmington. I'll definitely be back!

Today was not my first time eating here, and if I'm be truthful , every time I'm in town, I make it a point to stop by. They serve the kind of traditional Mexican breakfast I grew up loving, along with so many other delicious options. The staff is always warm and welcoming, serving every guest with the biggest smiles. You'll also often see the owner walking around as well, checking on tables and making sure everything is going smoothly, which adds such a personal touch. The restaurant itself is clean, beautifully decorated with cultural charm, and filled with the incredible aroma of fresh spices cooking in the kitchen. I always begin with their Café de Olla--a slow-simmered coffee made with raw brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange peel, and coffee. It's served hot, full of flavor, and not overly sweet. Honestly, it's the only coffee I'll happily drink without creamer or added sugar. This visit, I ordered the Tamal Montado: two tamales over a bed of creamy black bean sauce, covered with red salsa, then topped with a sunny side egg, avocado, Mexican sour cream, queso fresco, and cilantro. Every bite was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. I finished the meal with a pan dulce, which paired perfectly with the whole experience. I skipped tortillas this time, but they also have a tortilla station where they're made fresh by hand and cooked to order--always a sign you're in the right place!! They're open daily from 7 AM to 3 PM, and if you find yourself in Wilmington, this spot should absolutely be on your list

The ambience has this electric tropic feel, playing a variety of old and new Latin tunes, with lowkey lighting but not so low you can't see anything. I recommend starting off with the pork belly quac, and a spicy margarita with tajin on the rim I had the Machu Picchu roll(corvina, citrus tiger milk, mango confetti, and more) and I swear was one of the most beautifully creative flavor packed dishes I have ever had in this town. Look, if you are wanting a quick getaway to another culinary world and are tired of the same ol wings, pizza , and beer come check out this spot. Oh! And to top it all off the service was stellar! My wife had the cauliflower dish and really enjoyed it, it's not something she gets every day and the flavor really popped, great vegetarian options at Vochas.
