This has to be the best burger place in Wasilla! I got a double bacon smashburger and found the burger patties to be juicy and it had bacon all through it (which I don't think I've ever experienced). Kids meals are a good size and affordable. Apparently they eat free on Wednesdays with purchase of an adult burger. Wasn't a fan of the smashfries but the regular were great. Definitely will be back! My first time trying smashburger, my husband's request since he says it's his favorite burger place. I will say the food was all delicious. We had a hiccup with my burger but the staff was great in resolving it. Liam was one of the two staff that assisted in that. I got the classic burger with cheddar, my husband got the jalapeño, my brother got the Kenai. And they do a military discount which we appreciate . This is our go-to burger place in the Valley, because the quality is excellent and the prices are fair. When compared to fast food burgers, they look even better (Smashburger's pricing is almost the same but for substantially better quality). Believe me: with 2 young boys, our family are quite the burger connoisseurs, so we don't make such recommendations lightly! Whenever we're in the mood for burgers while in the Valley, we'll gladly head over there, happily passing up all of the usual and more conveniently located burger factories (you know the ones). The atmosphere is nice, the food is always excellent (including the awesome shakes), and the service is prompt and attentive. What's not to love? I feel bad that it has taken me this long to put in a review for them since we've eaten there more than a few times since they opened, but I'm glad to do it now! read more

I was disappointed to see yet another damn burger joint in the Valley, given the plethora of crappy American restaurants and fast food drive thrus, but hey, we had to try it anyway. So we were lucky enough to show up during a slower period that they took our order and had our food out to the table within 15 minutes. We ordered three burgers (one large, two regular size), four sides (thin, fried onion ring thingies, tots, and veggies), and three shakes. When the food came, the burgers all looked to be the same size, and rather small at that. You couldn't tell which one was the larger one. My husband and son got the BBQ Bacon and Cheddar while I got a Turkey burger with lots of veggies and mayo/mustard. Everything tasted great so it all got hoovered rather fast, but given the amount of food we THOUGHT we were gonna get and the $65 pricetag, we had fully expected to take some home. That did not happen. Individual ratings BBQ Bacon Burger: 8/10. They'd have gotten a higher score but portions sucked....especially for the "large" sized burger Create your own burger: Mine had Turkey, some sort of artisan bun, cucumber, tomato, onion, lettuce, mayo, mustard, cheddar, and Swiss cheese. It was VERY good. 9/10 Tots: 9/10 Veggie side: 6/10. These were underwhelming Shakes: 10/10. These were generous, but again, expensive AF Ambience: 8/10. Better than a lot of burger places I've seen Service: 8/10 Pricetag: 5/10. You're paying too much for what you actually get, even if it does taste good. After having visited the Smash Burger in Anchorage I was happy to see we have one in Wasilla! The milk shakes are the bomb. Burgers are great too. Fancy McDs I arrived at 9pm on a weekday so it was only myself and one other that were there. In other words, not busy at all. I'm not a fast food person but was craving a burger tonight so tried it out. The place had great service, was very clean and the back of the restaurant has a nice view of the lake with outdoor seating. Everything was hot and fresh...the smash fries have a nice dusting of garlic and rosemary seasoning on them. I left feeling very satisfied. I haven't given many five stars but this one deserves it for what it is....upscaled fast food. The great service and clean atmosphere go a long ways.
