Ordered Smashburger for the first time and was happy with the experience. I ordered the regular smash burger and I thought it was very good. My wife ordered a chicken smash and she said it was a little bland at first but when asked again at the end of the meal, she said that it was really good. We got me son a hotdog and he enjoyed it very much and ate the entire thing. The buttered roll that it was on was very good. The star of the meal was the mac and cheese. Isn't a smash burger supposed to be a smash burger? The patties certainly were not smashed. The double truffle mushroom smash burger was not good. There must be SOMETHING people like about Smashburger, but as a vegetarian, I can tell you their "Veggie Smash" is the absolute worst veggie burger I have ever eaten. It's advertised as a black bean burger, but what you get is essentially a mess of crushed black beans with no discernible taste on a crappy burger bun. Oh, and I don't remember the exact price, but this very unsatisfying meal, which included some greasy fries (reportedly not cooked in the same oil as chicken and meat) and a stock powdered iced tea, set me back a lot more than I expected. It's too bad places like this don't pay more attention to the quality of their plant-based menu items. The service is always great and the milkshakes taste good but the new spicy chicken sandwiches taste awful. When I first got the sandwich a few months ago it was great, two fresh spicy chicken tenders. It seems that the last few weeks the sandwich gets worse. This past friday 12-13-24, the sandwich was inedible. The bread was very hard and the chicken tenders was so hard, I had to switch with the chicken tenders I purchased ( the five piece spicy chicken tenders). I've never had smash burger before, so while visiting my buddy in Jericho, we decided to go for lunch. Double classic cheeseburger, large smash fries which is their signature rosemary olive oil garlic fries, regular fountain drink, and chocolate milkshake. Ready? $25 just for me! WTF? It was good though, fresh and right off the grill! Fries were great! But $25? That's more than burgerfi and shake shack! To me, that's really expensive. We waited 15 minutes after ordering which I believe is a long time, they did bring the meals to our table and a guy did come over and ask how things were and if we needed anything. So decent service although the guy who rang me up didn't really want to be there, no smile no thank you's given. Would I be back? Maybe if I had enough money for the insanely expensive meal and I was hungry enough to justify it. But if shake shack or burgerfi was nearby, I'd save some money for the same amount of yumminess. I haven't been to a Smashburger since it's Yelp event in the city many moons back. I remembered there were plenty of tasty options but still never made my way back. Could be because there are plenty of burger joints everywhere or simply that its a fast food chain. My husband went to a Smashburger a few weeks back for the first time and told me it was great. So randomly today I chose to come to this particular establishment for a quick lunch with the hubs. I had no clue there are so much Smashburgers throughout Long Island, let alone one that is only 2 miles away! Upon entry, I was pleasantly surprised of the industrial modern decor and how it appears to be super clean! Not the typical "fast food" look I had in my head. It is actually really nice! The employees greeted us as soon as we walked in. I ordered the truffle mushroom swiss single stack burger with the smash tots. My husband had the same burger but double stack along with crispy brussels sprouts. HOLY COW. Everything was so delicious! The burger had just the right amount of truffle flavor and the beef was moist. The tots were a touch oily but each individual tot was packed with tons of flavor and perfectly crispy. The real winner were the brussels sprouts - wowza! The brussels sprouts had just the right about of salt, tenderness, and crisp. Had a good experience recently at Smashburger. We've been ordering large group orders for work and chose Smashburger and everyone was happy with their order. I actually did not get a burger this time around. I tried their Cobb Salad which tasted fresh. The portion was large... maybe even 2 people can share. Placed an online order and went to pick it up. The restaurant has a nice looking setup and is pretty clean. The food - I had the Classic Burger with SmashFries. Decided to go a little dangerous and also added a side of Haystack onions. Really wanted to like it, but like a few of the reviews here, the burger was incredibly salty. You can taste it with every bite. A good seasoned patty does not need the extra salt. The SmashFries was good. Nice garlicky taste. Luckily that was spared of salt mania. Thought I was out of the woods, but then on to the Haystack onions. Brutally salty! Had a few strings, then straight to the trash. Too bad. I generally like Smashburger. I did it again. I wish there were a better option in the area. Problem is that the food is pretty good, so I keep going back, even if they remind me every time why I swore off it in the first place. Anyway, the only reason for the review is that I finally found something good here. Michele was fantastic. Generally the employees are horrible, but she not only got my order right, but was nice and corrected the errors of the others. She even got through the loudest fire alarm ever without a hitch. New pain points were the amazing amount of grease which destroyed my pants just by me merely putting the bag on my leg, the lack of bacon that they didn't include (they literally have never gotten an order fully right in the 10 or so times I've been here), and the fire alarm which I wouldn't normally penalize them for, but since they're the worst, it's fair game. The register has a clear protector, which some usually prefer, and you order from at least 6 feet away. The menus are simple, the employees are knowledgeable about the menu to make sure you get what you want in your order. I usually get a hamburger here and they've been good so far. No issues besides the sometimes incorrect order but that's not a big deal to me bc at the end of the day I'm not a picky eater so if I didn't get the bacon, I'll live. But this last visit...Ehhh I got the beer battered cod thinking it's probably way better than a McDonald's fish fillet. While eating it at home, halfway through there was a bite that I couldn't actually bite through. So I pulled out the piece and this entire piece pulled out. You order at the counter, get a number placard for your table and the ln the food is brought to you Soda fountain is self serve so you can make your own combos and refill as you wish I usually indulge in the black bean burger with truffle mayo, swiss cheese, mushrooms on brioche with fries on the side. Always delicious and satisfying. Tables all have plenty of napkins and freshly filled ketchup and mustards. Clean and friendly. Prices are great for the food you are getting. Always bangin!! This is one of my most favorite burger spots and I've tried many different ones from different areas and price range. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and a side of Brussel sprouts with extra ranch and Man oh Man it was good. Please was clean and the servers were very attentive..
