So I have not been to a White Castle for a very long time. This store has a decent parking lot and is large. There are plenty of tables and it has a nostalgic look to it with pictures of their "castles" from long ago. It was very clean and bright and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered a couple of fish sandwiches (no burgers-I was craving fish!), fries and a drink. The cost has gone up quite a bit since I've been here. Not sure this is a budget friendly fast food joint so much any more! The service to get the sandwiches was a bit slow. But I asked for extra tartar sauce and ketchup and they gave me a very nice supply! The soda machine was a bit confusing and also sluggish, but the Diet Coke with Lime was crisp and refreshing. (It was great to have Diet Coke Lime again!) The sandwiches were delicious. Greasy, tasty, and really enjoyable. The fries were hot and salty and hit the spot. Now, I probably won't be coming to eat fast food again for a bit, but when I do, I will definitely be back here. read more

This location is very clean, as are all of the locations locally that I've been to, and the employees are very polite and friendly. What can I say?! It's what you crave, right? I haven't had WC in years, probably since they were much cheaper, cheap as in you can get 10 sliders for like $2 dollars cheap. But I was hungry and had an out of the blue craving on a late night. So I stopped. Ordered a number 1 which is 4 sliders, a fry, and drink. And because I knew I wouldn't be coming back here any time soon, I got chicken rings too. $12 dollars later and a now bloated stomach, I was reminded why I don't eat the castle anymore. I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed it, but I'm good. P.S. this location is so slow. I almost wonder if it's made to order because the drive thru takes forever. Burgers are so good. They're small, but good. Quality over quantity, eh? Employees at drive thru are very passionate about their job. Plus, they let you see the food being cooked! You come here because you either grew up on White Castle and go once a year for nostalgia (me) or because you've only ever heard of it and want to check it out. The burgers are good, I personally like the chicken more than the beef. The fries are always crunchy. The characters here are always sketchy. The staff is robotic. They have the cool Coke machines. The tables aren't always clean. There is ample parking. There's a drive-thru. Prices are cheap. Hey they even serve all-day breakfast! All the hype was from HAROLD and KUMAR's WHITE CASTLE. I was in the area for my trip and I asked one of my local friends and they said there was one not too far from the hotel. Ok...being from L.A...I had to try this once in my life. It's like going to L.A. and not having In N Out. So first off...this place wasn't in the best of neighborhoods. What amazed me was the W.C. must of staffed the place with like 15 employees behind the counter. I took a picture of the menu (100 pieces of their burgers for like $35.99 if I recall) and they manager yelled at me. LOL! Anyways...I tried their special 2 cheeseburgers, fries and drink. We also had the mozarella sticks. I gotta say..the burgers sucked (like I said....all hyped was from the movie) but the moza sticks were awesome! Now I can say I tried the imfamous WHITE CASTLE burger joint. I don't think I'll ever go there again unless it's for a late night after club run. read more

What can you say about White Castle that hasn't already been said before? Every once in a blue moon you have to come here at 3 o'clock in the morning, which is exactly the time right now. White Castle was almost a treat at one time. The ONLY reason I would stop in here is because of my overnight working hours. I doubt if I will be coming back after my last experience. When I received my order I drove to an empty spot on the lot. When I looked in the bag I kinda lost my appetite. I know it's a fast food joint but doesn't anyone there take pride in what they do? The burgers looked like something out of a crime scene with the amount of ketchup slopped on! This also by the way over powered whatever flavor of the burger itself. There is a cutoff time here, that once you hit it, you'll need to bring your 9mm and pull up in a Bradley fighting vehicle. Aside from the rambunctious late night crowd, there is also the drive up which is more or less a parking lot as most of the people are hammered and pull up, order like 200 burgers and you have to sit there for 40 minutes while they take care of one vehicle after another - the grill in the kitchen must be 12 inches by 12 inches... I remember when White Castle had long lines to get those delicious burgers. Although the lines are much shorter, the burgers taste as great as always. I tend to stay away from fast food but we were driving past and my son told me he never had White Castle. I said okay fine we will make a quick trip through the drive through but he was going to be sorry later. I nibbled on a some chicken rings and had a bite or two of the bacon sliders and remembered why I don't like this place. Barely cooked grey looking burgers covered in mounds of onions. This is by far the onioniest fast food restaurant of them all. He said the food was okay and of course I was right about him regretting it later. The thing that really bothered me about this place was the fact that it was like 2pm in the afternoon and there was only one car ahead of us in the drive through line and may be a total of 3-4 cars total in the parking lot yet we sat waiting at the menu board for at least five minutes before anyone even said anything to us. I was beginning to think it was some sort of practical joke. They did acknowledge and apologize for the wait once someone finally greeted us. The order was correct as well so I can't complain about that and the cashier was polite. Apparently its been going on for some time now, but each year, White Castle offers "candle lit" Valentine's Day dinners. My wife wanted to go, so I called up and made reservations. We arrived to a restaurant filled with paper hearts, little electronic flicker candles, and White Castle employees dressed in red. It was also packed with a wide range of people. Old couples, young couples, and entire families. So, here's the White Castle Valentine's Day experience. First off, you NEED a reservation. "A reservation at White Castle? Blabbity blah blah blah!" (That's fictional guy reading this review filled with outrage at needing a reservation for White Castle) It was 6pm on a Sunday and White Castle was packed like it was Dorsia at 8pm.* Second, once you've checked in with the manager/hostess, you're seated at a table with a red table cloth and a card with your name on it. Pretty classy White Castle. Middle school dinner for old folks classy, but still classy.** Then, we were given some snazzy printed menus with a selection of White Castle cuisine. Our waitress took our order, and we were eating sliders in no time. I only had two issues with this evening. One, they could stand to be a little more organized with their waitress/cashiers. I know they're not normally waitresses, but if they were assigned sections rather than trading off when each new person came in, things might move a little quicker. Two, I need to realize my personal limit for sliders. Seriously, Pauly. Stop at 4. Once you get to 5, you get that sick feeling. * See American Psycho. On my recent New York visit - just HAD to stop here at White Castle! WHY? I'll tell you friggin why and stuff, OK?? I am from Long Island (Lindenhurst in fact) - there I said it. So my visit to New York was primarily to visit my mother and grandmother - the last two of my immediate family left on the Island. As a rotten lousy kid, me and my friends would ride our bikes over to this White Castle and horse around. Same thing as trouble-making teens (technically we weren't allowed to cross over into Nassau County on our learner permits - but what the heck!) So, this particular White Castle location goes way back! And I go way back. Actually if you are from Long Island, then most red-blooded folks were practically weaned on White Castle burgers. In fact, I remember when I was a small child, my parents would drive to the Lynbrook White Castle. A girl would come out to our car on skates and place a tray on our window full of the little greasy delights! So on my last afternoon in New York, my mother and I pull up to this White Castle for lunch. The first thing I notice is the lack of Mickey Rooney's Weeny World (the round hot dog place next door). New Condos are in it's place. So I guess everyone's discovered Massapequa? Once inside I see that White Castle has definitely had a extreme makeover! Gone are the closed-off order windows and greasy white walls. Now all is open and bright and clean and happy! Thankfully the little cardboard castle boxes still contain one the most pure unadulterated joys ever created by mankind - the White Castle slider! Mom and I ate practically a dozen each! And the onion rings were delish as well. We got milk shakes too! My flight back to the Left Coast was a few hours later - but I swear I didn't feel like eating for a few days at least! The burgers were kind of soggy but for less than a dollar a burger I guess they were right for the price. Wendy's is better. Being from Los Angeles, I consider it a special treat when I come out to the east coast ad get some of that good White Castle in me. I'm a fan of trashy fast food, and the frozen sliders they sell in stores never cuts it. I pretty much always order the chicken sliders, a set of 4 white castle burgers, fries, drink, and then one of the novelty foods (chicken rings, etc). My 10 yo son wanted to try WC so we decided to go one afternoon. The last time I walked into a WC I was in my late teens, drunk with friends and nothing else was open. It's been awhile, but I figured, why not? It's just another gross fast food joint with creepy food. A "do it once and not again for another 20 years" thing. In my opinion WC offers sub par quality food (like most fast food) but for a lot more money. The burgers might be a little different than the other fast food chains (it is square, packed with onions) but the meat is paper thin and it takes 5-10 burgers for a person to be satisfied, some more some less of course. The whole thing is about 90% bun, 5% onions and 5% meat. At 99 cents per cheeseburger (80 cents w/o cheese), I'd rather take my money elsewhere and eat real food. SOOOOO not worth it. Now I remember why I haven't been to this place in 20 years. They get a extra star bc the staff was friendly, which is a plus nowadays. In a nutshell, with so many other choices out there now, go somewhere else to buy a burger. read more
