Awesome food and customer experiences. I will recommend this place. It is clean and tidy and the employees are super friendly and jolly.

UGH. I can't believe the service of this place. It was near closing time (closing in an hour) and they had already started breaking down and cleaning. There were probably 10 people sitting and eating and people were still coming in to order. I put my number down (which clearly meant I'm waiting for food, right?) and they took away the napkins/condiments. And continued to take away things from tables behind me. There were no other tables on the other side, where did you want me to sit? The food came out. The fries were SOAKED with oil. Disgusting. Would not return. read more

Clean and air conditioned restaurant. The lady that took my order was pleasant. This was my first time at a NY Smash and wanted to try their signature burger, which had NY cheddar, spinach and garlic aioli. It wasn't too special and I could do without the spinach. They also had a pastrami sandwich, which I should have gotten. :( It was so hot when I went everyone hogged the tables inside. We had to sit outside and the only seats that had the most shade was next to the garbage can! And worse of all, all of the chairs were bolted to the ground. The bathroom was not finished as it should; there were spray paint marks like indicators of where tile should go. The other lady that dealt with receiving food from the kitchen was not pleasant and gave me dirty look when I asked for a side of mayo. read more

First, when paying you're prompted to leave a tip. I left one, but then the cashier said they don't get the tips. Really? On the menu board it says they use Haagen Dazs for their shakes. I only ordered a vanilla shake. It took THIRTY MINUTES to get it. I sat there and drank some and it didn't taste so good. I tried to speak with the staff and they were so preoccupied I decided to finish it because I was hungry.I finally got the shake maker's attention and he admitted that they ran out of Haagen Dazs and used another obviously inferior ice cream for which I payed $7. He got the "manager"and she admitted it wasn't Haagen Dazs and just shrugged her shoulders. She also wouldn't give me a refund because I drank it. I sent two emails to corporate and they never responded. According to their staff, they are not getting the tips we leave for them, and they are not using Haagen Dazs in their shakes. I will never visit this location again. Shameful. read more

Went to shop at gateway and want to get some thing to eat for lunch. Saw Smashburger so decided to go in. One you go inside you have to wait and order your foods. You can eat in or takeout. So decided to eat in. There was a lot of tables but mostly they were occupied so had to look for a table. I order avocado bacon double burger with a special fries. So once we order had to grab a number and put it on the table so they serve the burger to the table. I heard they serve the hamburger to the table slower but it was faster about 25 minutes to get the table. The burger and the fries not bad. read more

I've been hearing nothing but good things so I decided to finally try the burgers here. This location is in the Gateway Shopping Center. It's towards the back and somewhat in the middle. Plenty of parking that is shared with all of the businesses here. I always find a spot not too far from the stores but it can get busy. So you order once you get in on the right. The burgers are organic and I had the spicy baja burger with the spicy fries, fried pickles and a peanut butter shake. The burger was good. There was guacamole on it as well. The fries were a bit salty but good. The pickles were good too. The shake was served with whatever they couldn't fit in the cup in a seperate cup with spoon. Nice touch. You get a number if you are staying and your food is bought out to you. They also take away once your done. They provide to go containers for leftovers. You can get your food to go or stay. They have a decent amount of seating. Some four tops and some counter swatting. There's some outdoor seating when the weather is appropriate. Staff was polite and just enough attention. I didn't expect the table service. read more

My friends and I were shopping around and decided to grab a bite because we got hungry. We chose Smashburger over the pizza place a few doors down. The place was pretty crowded when we arrived and it took a while to find a table. We had to wait in line to order, then wait at our table for someone to bring out food. My boyfriend ordered the classic burger and I ordered the avocado club and we also had a side of their fries. My boyfriend liked his burger, I thought the fries were okay, I've had better. When my burger arrived, I was pretty underwhelmed. My avocado club burger came with a three little slivers of avocado. While eating it, I tasted no avocado at all. What was the point in even ordering the avocado club when my tongue can't even tell if there's any avocado in it? While my friends and I were eating, one of the employees insisted on having us move our legs so she can sweep under the table. I thought that was a little rude. She could have easily waited until we had left to sweep. Also, another employee stopped at our table and asked if we were all done, while I still had half a burger in my hand. One of my friends told her that he was all done and slightly pushed his tray towards her to let her know that she could take it away, but she took everyone's tray but his. This really left us a little puzzled. Customer service here is so confusing and the food is mediocre. I will definitely not be returning. read more

Smashburger - Avocado club burger ... can't even taste the avocado. - Burgers Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I heard nothing but good reviews about Smashburger so since I was craving a good ole burger, I decided to give them a try. This location was extremely clean and there was a sense of order in here which allowed everything to flow smoothly. The wait time for our food was about five minutes which was cool with me. My son and I decided to dine in rather than take our food home. The service provided was pleasing to me, very attentive to each customer's needs. My son ordered the bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and regular fries along with this delicious strawberry lemonade drink by a company called Natural Cabana. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with spicy buffalo fries along with a Oreo milkshake which was so good. I enjoyed my dining experience here at Smashburger and will definitely patronize the business again. read more

I loveeeeeee burgers so this review might be a little biased. Anyway this place is like a good old fashioned burger joint, with modern food if that makes any sense. They also have thick milk shakes that are yummy! This location read more

While waiting to order there was a pregnant woman waiting for her mobile order. She explained to the cashier that everyone who ordered already left and she was missing her non-dairy milkshake. The woman who was making the drink shouted "there is a 30 minute wait and if you don't want to wait then you can leave" (how's that for customer service smh). I order an $1.70 add on for my burger and did not receive it. I went back and told the woman she sighed and brought me back some burnt onion rings (I guess she thought bc she gave me a half container that it was ok to give me the burnt ones)I told my friend about it and she gave it back to the shouting woman who got us a fresh batch. Half way through my eaten burger I chewed bacon (I DO NOT EAT PORK! I ordered a sandwich that did not contain pork). My friend checked to see if her avocado was on both of her burgers and we left. When we got back to QUEENS my friends said what she thought was avocado was actually a pickle read more

The service here is terrible! 30 mins for a milkshake is unacceptable. Rather than the staff calling your name when your order is ready, they expect you to come to them to inquire about your order. The staff and manager had an attitude and had the nerve to try to school us about their flawed business practices. All we wanted was a refund not an attitude. read more

The burgers are GREAT. Well cooked. Seasoned just right. I debated getting on the long line. Though it was long, I was placing my order in less than 5 minutes. Cashier was very friendly and patient. Ohhhhhh and the Rosemary fries are DELICIOUS. Everything was fresh. Price is reasonable. If you decide to dine in the servers will bring your meal to your table... Very nice burger spot. read more

I went in there and asked for my online order, it wasn't ready so i waited. After 20 minutes of being ignored, the worker finally asks for my name again and gives me a bag of food with items missing. $50 for 3 cold burgers and disgusting service. Thanks for nothing. read more

I went into Smashburger with hopes to find an official burger spot in south queens/Brooklyn area, a Shake shack type maybe bare burger but I was disappointed to find out it's just another 5 Guys/Wendy's mass produced burger. The menu has a vast array of toppings n options than the lower tier burger spots but the essence in the patty, that's why I got the classic Smashburger with the hopes of being blown away all I got was thin and over cooked. Aside from that the Smashfries were really good and I will be back to try the Chicken smash burger had the chicken and it wasn't anything special either but it wasn't terrible but much of the same too much bread overtaking the sandwich as a whole read more

Smashburger...how I love thee! Well being that I have already have had plenty of burgers from Smashburger (but in midtown) not really much to write. Burgers taste great as the same of the other location and the choice of buns, burgers, sauces and toppings as well is always a plus for me more than that of Shake Shack and other burger locations in NYC. The waiter staff here is decent although they have forgotten to add my sauce to the order on more than one occasion. Added to that being that this location of Smashburger is located by a huge shopping area and thankfully slightly less expensive than the midtown location, I definitely will come here often. read more

These are decent burgers, close enough to more popular burger joints elsewhere. This place has surprising amount of options/add ons for a burger place like gluten free bread, spinach, different cheeses, etc. Quality control may be an issue though. I once ordered avocado and was given a cheap/small piece of avocado. Another time, my burger was not cooked medium well as I like. The fries are the most disappointing part of the process. The garlic fries are a step up, but whatever process they use to cook the fries leaves them too oily and limp. If the fries were better this would be stellar burger joint. read more

Well, while I wish I could show you a picture of the double smash burger or the single bacon smash burger, with fries on the side... this was all that was left of the meal. In my opinion, the burgers were a bit small for the price. My sister and mother shared the double and I had the single bacon burger. They weren't quite as expensive as I expected them to be, but they were a bit on the small side. They listened to all our customizations, which I truly appreciate. Also, buns are sesame free - which I also appreciate. I would go back and do recommend. read more

Very nice concept of a burger bar kind of like chipotle a little like shake shack but much better. I say this because you order your burger and fries dogs or salads at the counter and you are brought your order tableside. You can have a regular sized burger or a little bigger than usual size patty if desired. Onion rings or two types of fries, plenty of sauces and options galore all across the board. Beers are available and they will check on you while you eat and pick up your waste too. Yes i would go back. read more

we decided to give it a try for lunch today, after hearing so many great reviews. it was a huge disappointment to say. ordered 2 sandwiches - burger and chicken. also ordered 2 large fries: we asked for 2 cups of ice water, where we were charged $6.58 for the cups. I asked and was told they charge for cups/. I was not going to pay to have water from a fountain. we took the order to go. the fries were terrible - they were soggy and dripping in oil. had to throw them out. my chicken sandwich was not fresh. the only thing good was the bacon double smash burger. maybe they should just stick with burgers and not other options. it was the biggest waste of money. will not be recommending smash burger to any of my friends and family. read more

Be prepared to wait! I love their burgers but hate to visit their restaurant because the orders take so long. I ordered one burger and a milkshake, no lie over 30 min wait. Even when you order from UBER EATS, the delivery person will cancel because they are tired of waiting to pick up the order. I've never waited so long for fast food. Seriously. read more

A key to great customer service is still taking someone's order when you're about to close, and this is exactly what happened here at Smashburger! It was the night of the most anticipated event since the super bowl. The night Mayweather so graciously continued to hug it out with Manny Pacquio (can you tell I was #teampacman or what?) nevertheless on the evening of this boxing event (or was it dancing with the stars?) Smashburger was closing earlier than usual and I had just arrived with 10 minutes to spare. Not only did the lady behind the register take my order but it was without attitude and rush. I ordered the regular burger with spinach cucumber and goat cheese... Why? because at the first sight of goat cheese there is no need for me to look any further (I love goat cheese!). Verdict: it was absolutely delicious! read more

The place was pretty packed during the weekend, theres indoor/outdoor seatings. Its a "gourmet" burger joint, as the prices for their burgers are no different than Applebees or TGI fridays. Really enjoyed the grilled chicken avocado burger with an aioli sauce. Their signature fries was also something a bit different than the average fast food places. The oreo milk shake goes well on a hot humid day. read more

On January 15, 2021, was our FIRST time tasting Smashburger's double cheese burger and pulled pork sandwich. Both the burger and pork sandwich tasted delicious and were filling beyond belief! Thank goodness for the coupons used to purchase the pulled pork sandwich and burger. It was too expensive to purchase fries to accompany our food purchases so we used the coupons for two complimentary beverages. Although Smashburger does not provide experience surveys, we wanted to compliment Gateway's Brooklyn location for excellent customer service, food preparation, and great food taste! read more

Very first time eating here and i was impressed. The lines are always long but it wasn't on this day, so I walked in and placed my order. The rep adjusted my order and told me what I ordered will cost more the way I ordered it so he changed it around. Super patient and very customer focused. They took about 20 minutes to make our food. I asked for my food to go, then I changed my mind. The person I spoke to was super nice about the changes. I can't say anything bad. They were so nice. I mean really nice. This was my first time at a Smashburger but it won't be my last. When researching places at Gateway Center the reviews are pretty rough. I was headed to Panera but opted for a burger instead. (It's Friday...I'll leave the diet for Monday). The line wasn't long, just one person in front of me. The host, Gina (her name was on my receipt) was super nice. She greeted me with a friendly smile. I told her it was my first time and she was patient while I looked at the menu. I opted for the classic smash with fries and a drink. Everything came out quickly and deliciously made.
