This was my first time at SmashBurger. The cashier was friendly & welcomed me. It was very crowded (Saturday afternoon-figures) but the line was moving and the staff was on point. I ordered the Smash Burger with fries and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back again. The staff was attentive and welcoming to everyone. Who ever is managing this place is doing a fantastic job. I strongly recommend if you want a burger at Gateway to come over to this place and forget about the other restaurants around! read more

Gotta get those Rosemary fries omg so fucking good. I love their chicken sandwich as well it's a step above Shake Shacks Chicken Shack. read more

If you haven't already, you need to eat from this awesome spot. I'm not a meat eater so I can't attest to anything other than the veggie burgers and the fish burger, fries and milk shakes. One word GLORIOUS. Music melody to the tonsils. read more

Took FOREVER - Even after the app said my order was ready, it wasn't even started... took another 20 minutes (for one chicken sandwich and one shake) - for a total wait time of 45 minutes read more

I enjoy the food at Smashburger but, the service varies. They often make mistakes with orders and the manager likes to refuse to correct the order or give a refund depending on the manager of the day. In my recent visit I was upset with their lack of training on PPE gear. For example, they use the same gloves to make milkshakes and collect cash, the chef is touching the counter tops with the same gloves they prepare the food with, the person that packages the food is touching everything in sight in addition to your food. I enjoy Smashburger but I really need they to give their employees training on sanitary measures. read more

I just had thee worst experience Ever in smash burger. I placed my order, which was a brisket burger w/o the bacon and tater tots, a Colorado burger with tater tots, an order of buffalo wings with fries and a side order of fries. There were four of us. When the food arrived the tater tots and fries were mixed up. We expressed to the waitress that it was wrong and she proceeded to argue that the machine doesn't tell them what goes where. I stated but we're telling you now can you please fix it. She replied and I'm telling YOU that the machine doesn't tell us. I asked what does that have to do with anything if we're telling u now? Do u expect us to eat off of each other's plates? She replied "I'm just gonna get the manager" my husband said "please do" she came back with an attitude and tried to fix it which we allowed but my husband told her he still wanted to speak to a manager. The manager came over and gave us our food and apologized for her behavior. Looking the way she looked I can see why her attitude was so nasty. She legit looked like flava flav's daughter. She was short, dark skinned, with bright red hair and glasses. She has a face ONLY a mother could love. Anyway the manager stated that this was the second complaint about her nasty attitude and she probably wouldn't be working there any longer. I truly hope not I lost my appetite and everything. He accommodated us by giving us two cards for two free entrees on our next visit. The food was pretty basic but it was filling. The peanut butter milkshake I had was really good but that server really needs to go!!!! read more

You wait so long for someone to respond to you so they can take your order. The tables are filthy and you have to clean them yourself: that's terrible. The waiters bring your food to you after talking all over it and that's terrible in my opinion. The food is subpar and expensive. You don't really get much and it doesn't taste all of that for how much you pay. This location is a hassle to get to unless you're already shopping at the mall. read more

It would be great if you could make the menu smaller and put more things on it because it's too easy to read and there aren't enough options to confuse me. Also, please make the music louder because it's too easy to hear the person taking my order. read more

First of all I waited about an hour and didn't receive the correct amount of fries ordered, bacon was missing from one of my cheeseburgers, my Colorado burger was made incorrectly and the quality of the food was terrible. My burgers were burnt! I waited so long and my family couldn't even enjoy the meal. Not worth it! A waste of time and money! read more

I like to give a place a fair chance but this is ridiculous. This is the 3rd time ordering from this place and all 3 times I had to go and wait 20 minutes for my food. Then I finally get my food and it's nothing like I ordered. Food was good the first time and horrible the next 2 times. How do I order a sandwich from the menu and you still get it wrong.. makes no sense. Why does it take 15 minutes to order a milkshake? Because the person making the shakes waited till 6 orders came in for shakes to make it. Note to manager.. hire some staff that actually care about their job or maybe you need to get fired cause this is poor management. read more

Came here total 3 times and the first 2 times; had to wait about 40 mins a order because something was wrong with the order. The third time order came out Pretty quick, no complaints. I guess depending on the time frame you order food from them please keep in mind the wait time is long and the fries are a little on the oily side. But the food is ok. read more

Our order took 25 minutes and when we finally received it, was cold and salty. Terrible service. Workers seemed disgruntled and the place was so crowded due to slow service read more

Food is great always. But waiting time far to long. Even online orders you have to wait 20 minutes or more beyond the time they give you. I love the food but with only a 30 minute meal period (USPS). I can not use this business. read more

Be careful when you go to this Smashburger. They'll mess up your order even if you're a regular who gets the same thing on a frequent basis. How do you mess up a double black bean burger by making one of the patties MEAT?! You can't feed meat to someone who quite possibly hasn't eaten it in years. That's a health risk. Do better. Skip this place. read more

Don't go there on a Sunday. I waited 35 minutes for a burger. When it came out, it was burnt. I meant crispy black burnt. And it was cold. . . I mean after waiting for 35 minutes you would expect it hot off the grill, right? But cold it was, and burnt. I didn't try to ask for another one, and wait another 30 min. They are a mess on Sundays. Before Covid, I was there during the week, and the burgers were great, but now, OMG. I hope it was the fact that it was Sunday. read more

For the amount of money I paid ... I would have gone to shake shack and had a better meal .... I don't think it was anything out of the ordinary about this burger shack and honestly .. the serving size left me hungry ...: I should have went to McDonald's for a more filling and cheaper meal read more

Omg so after shooing at the mall in gateway. I wanted a burger. This place is great !! The service was amazing. I actually sat n ate there. They came three times just to see that everything was okay. The prices are great. I thought it would be expensive but it wasn't. I had the bacon cheeseburger with French fries. The fries are thin n seasoned with olive oil , garlic n something else. It is best to eat the fries there. It's definitely on my list to go again. Now this is excellent customer service!!! Food is amazing n fresh !!! read more

Great Food! Rosy was Very friendly and extremely courteous. Manager was very helpful too he let me use his phone

Didn't even give one of the burgers that was ordered. Said one smashburger with no smash sauce and cheddar cheese instead of American cheese and didn't receive it at all. Entire order was messed up. So heartbreaking because I spent so much money to get home and find out my order was entirely screwed. Fries and tots are now full of oil instead of flavor. Not even crispy anymore. Restaurant used to be my go to food place while shopping in gateway center but recently it's gotten horrible. Looking for a new food joint to eat at while shopping because I can't deal with this overpriced place taking my money anymore. If you want to enjoy some smashburger stay away from this location. The other ones should still be good. Emphasis on "should" read more

Dammm there butger do hit the spot. I cam here with my girl and son. It was crowded. We had to wait to get a seat. Yhe burger was made fresh and was very tastey. Ive come here before and will come again. When the weather gets better you will be able to sit outside which should make the atmosphere more calm and less crowded Overall i was happy with my burger. Wish i would have gotten the bigger size burger than the regular size burger read more

The staff sucks, they're so slow and inconsiderate. The employee ignored me at first so I had to repeat myself to pick up my order. Even after ordering in advance I had to wait over a half hour for a pick up order and my fries are cold. The food is good, but this place is not worth the frustration. read more

Tasty burger, great service, and casual atmosphere. I want to give it one more star, but it doesn't quite measure up to Shake Shack in the burger dept and BurgerFi in the quality dept. the burger is juicy and flavorful, but I didn't love the egg bun my Truffle Mushroom & Swiss came on. I would've liked more mushrooms too. But for an area that's overrun by McDonald's, Checkers and Subways, Smashburger is a delightful upgrade. Order the large burger for more meat between your buns and maybe add on a few items. Get the onion stack and/or sweet potato fries. And a milkshake. What's burger and and fries without a shake? I'll be back! read more

Burgers are pretty good and also are the Chicken tenders with fries! I recommend going to Smashburger!

Came here on a Saturday night. This was my first time at a Smash burger. I chose the create your own option. I tried the pretzel bun with the crispy chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and BBQ sauce and fries. They bring your order to your table. My sandwich was missing the BBQ sauce but I decided to proceed my meal without it. The crispy chicken was really good. The pretzel bread was good. Not an overpowering taste. I liked my experience. Il come back and maybe next time I'll actually get my sauce. read more

Go there if you are on diet or if you are not hungry - the burger is tiny like 5oz and fried are very dry and cold.

How can you not love this place. I'm not saying the burgers are the best in biz but they are definitely AWESOME! it's a treat to have a burger and going to McDonalds is not an option so this is an extremely upgraded version of that. I would have given 5 stars but the customer service isn't the best. read more

Ordered buffalo fries and they were full of salt. Plus the seasoning rolled right off. I was also expecting the seasoning to be baked into the fries but it was simply sprinkled on top. Terrible. Besides that though, the space looks pretty nice, clean and modern. read more

Omg, we were there with less than six dining patrons. The servers were all at the kitchen door, gossiping. My plate came out first and my guest's plate arrived 20 minutes later (I don't start eating until we're both served. Needless to say, I had a nice cold burger) Later we order a shake TO STAY and it arrives in a paper cup. Asking for the glass and the shake cup (because that's what you do) were informed that there are no more glass cups - WHILE WE ARE LOOKING AT THE STACK OF CLEAN GLASSES AY THE COUNTER. yes I get it, you don't want to do dishes. Thanks for the experience. -D read more

COVID should not be used as an excuse to get the order wrong! The order was wrong, we asked for a simple order and they got it all wrong and of course I didn't find out until I got home. I give it zero stars, and the food was horrible. Overcooked and covered in way too much salt inedible. read more

Smash burger was delicious and in a world of the better than average fast food burger joint, Smash burger has some serious competition with the other franchises. The one thing that separates Smash Burger from the others are their Smash Fries which are thin and full of flavor. Having that unique characteristic is necessary to differentiate from the others like 5 Guys and Shake Shack. I really do like the creative and tasty options featured at SB. I plan on visiting this location as well as other SB locations. read more

As a Bobby Flay, Jackson Hole and Five Guys burger fan I know a good burger when I taste one. Smashburger is a great addition to these places and even closer to me than all those places. From the home-made taste of the angus burgers and their juiciness, to the sweet potato fries, this place is awesome. They lost 1 star on my rating 4 star due to their customer service. They have a way to go, but this it be expected at most newly opened restaurants. Additionally, the shakes needs some work. I've had better at Steak n Shake. read more

I went in to order something to subside my hunger. I have had smash burger before at the location near Herald Square, so I knew how to order my meal specific. I chose to make my own, which included egg bun, aioli, cheddar, cucumbers and lettuce. I made it through about 80% of the burger before I started tasting it. F******G bacon in my burger! I was raised not to eat pork. I'm drastically disgusted, nauseated, and emotional about this ish. The manager came out to apologize with vouchers for the future and I received my money back, which is the right way to go about this but I still really upset about it. God forbid I had an actual allergy to it. I won't be going back and my friends can have my vouchers. read more

Hulk smash! (I couldn't help it.) Their burger makes it in my "top 5 burgers list" (only if it existed). However, I feel they swindled their way to the top. How? You guys use butter. Butter will make your taste buds sing like they're in a church choir, when your burger is prepared on a grill that was rubbed down with all that buttery goodness. To be fair, they do state this on their restaurant wall (on a board type-thingy) and their website. There sweet potato fries were sex in my mouth. Nuff said. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite in-between shopping with a friend, and honestly cannot figure out why this place got an overall 3.5 rating! I had a great experience! We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and ordered within minutes, and sat down to be served less than 10 minutes later. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and came by every now and then as we dined to ask how we were doing and if they could get us anything else. My friend and I had the Smashchicken, and it was fresh and delicious. Probably one of my favorite burger spots to date, besides Shake Shack. Skip the overrated Wahlburgers, skip the over-expensive Burger Bistro, skip the extra greasy Five Guys, and go for the affordable and delicious SmashBurger. Try one of their shakes or Malts too, especially in this heat! read more

I am a burger fanatic, and always come here while I shop . I got the jalapeño burger. It is topped with salad, guacamole and jalapeños on a toasted bun. It's super delicious. The food is fast and they serve it to your table. Every once In a while the employees come and take care of anything on the table . They are very nice workers. I love the taste of the fries, it's just annoying that their so tiny and skinny. Wish they added bigger fries to the menu. Otherwise the fountain drink area have a large variety to choose from with fresh lemons on the side. The bathroom is clean where I changed my baby. Love it. read more
