I ordered the spinach, cucumber, and goat cheese burger along with the sweet potato smashfries. I totally understand that this is a fast food place but I had set my hopes quite high since I heard good things about the food. However, the moment I picked up the fries, there was grease oozing out from it and it looked more like it was filled with grease rather than sweet potato. The fries were also limp and flimsy. The burger patty was extremely greasy as well. Just the thought of the amount of grease coming out of the fries makes me queasy. The only thing good about the place was the service. The food came out relatively quickly and upon finishing the meal, the staff came over to immediately throw out our garbage for us. Otherwise, I think I'll stick to Shake Shack from now on for my fast food cravings. read more

I wait almost 30 mins for 2 milk shakes and a small order of sweet potatoes fries. While I waited I painfully watched the girl assigned to milkshakes refuse to complete steps a-z. Instead she filled up the blender cups and by the time she had help, which she kept saying was needed if people wanted their shakes because she wasn't doing the whole thing, there were about 8-9 blender cups just sitting there with ice cream, zero shakes had been complete in almost 30 minutes. When I finally got my shakes my fries were very cold! This is the worst smash burger location in NYC. Horribly managed. read more

The good: The food is good, burger, chicken sandwich, fries or tots. The bad: I always go order in person and take out. I have never been to this location and not had to make a second trip because they either messed up my order or left out an entire meal from my order. The ugly: I have never gotten to enjoy a hot burger from this place because I always have to run back out back to the store to get the missing piece of my order. I've never even gotten an apology that I had to run back, but I have gotten plenty of attitude as if I was the person to mess it up. read more

All I wanted was pickels on my son kids meal cheeseburger and tuber attitude that I received from the cashier was so nasty that I immediately lost my appetite. I wish I would've gotten her name. Half way out the door I turned back to ask the person preparing the order why I couldn't have pickels on a kid's cheeseburger (I had it in the past). He explained to me that I'd have to order it on the side. I already lost my appetite due to the cashiers nasty attitude, when she could've told me the same thing. Those burgers are way too pricey to come with a side of attitude! read more

Smashburger - Gonna enjoy - Burgers Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Fried onions, roasted Brussels sprouts, Smash fries, chipotle ketchup, ranch dressing, way too much salt on the fries and brussel sprouts. But that may just have been that batch. Saturday evening and service was slow out of the kitchen. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Too many other places to try to be worth a second visit. read more

I enjoy the burgers and fries here whenever I stop by during a shopping trip to Gateway Mall. The food I've had here (usually the original Smash burger and fries) are always very good. What's uneven though is the service. Somethings it is spot on and other times not so much. I would recommend that management does a better job of training and supervising staff on best practices for customer service. All customers should be able to expect good customer service whenever they patronize this establishment. read more

It's like any other Smashburger/fast food chain in the city, but I have to complain. Every single time my mother orders a cobb salad with extra chicken and no bacon, she's charged for extra chicken that she doesn't get, and still receives bacon in her salad. It's frustrating to have to point it out every time, or find out too late that there is pork in her meal, which we cannot eat as per our religion. Maybe the standard salad just comes with very little chicken, but the bacon thing shouldn't slide!! read more

Ordered: Avocado smashburger (minus the ranch dressing and mayo) and Sweet potato smash fries Pros-- The "smashed" burger had a nice grilled taste and wasn't too heavy. Cons-- The fries weren't that crispy and were too oily. read more

Service at this location is absolutely horrible. There is no system in place and was very chaotic. There's no leader presence and there were no delegated positions. I came in to buy a peanut butter milkshake a smash tots and regular fries. Something that should've taken 5 mins, ten if it's busy, took 35 mins. I will not be returning read more

Today I ate a a burger from Smashburger for the first time. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and it was just ok. The fries, however, were delish! I ordered the spicy fries and it came with ranch dressing for dipping. I live for spicy food so these fries were right up my alley. The service was good too. I didn't have to wait too long for my food, which is a plus! I will give this place another try. Next time I will try a chicken sandwich with smash fries. read more

Worst. Burger. Ever. Any of the previous reviewers that think these poor excuses for hamburgers should be consumed by humans needs to have their heads examined. Worst, snottiest, most unprofessional service ever. I strongly suspect none of them have a high school diploma. Might explain a lot. Puny portions that don't match the menu pictures. Literally, 1/3 the size. When I complained to the manager that the photo onion haystack was much larger than the to-go cup (which had been filled only half way!), her lame reply was "The portions are pre-measured." Really?? Then don't mislead customers with bait and switch tactics/photos!! Skimped on my paid for toppings. Only two pieces of bacon. Barely any guacamole, Forgot my swiss cheese. Give this boutique style burger ripoff joint a pass. It's the worst. If I could've given it no stars? I would have. Starving would be preferable to this dung heap. read more

Love the burgers and tots. Fries are also amazing. Salads are huge and fresh. Fast service, quality burgers, ability to customize. Can get crowded on the weekend. Overall, one of the best burger joints I've been to. Last weekend, with all other lunch options, came here two days in a row. read more

Worst service ever and the food portion gets smaller if u don't tip good and think I saw someone sneeze on the food yet served it anyway.

This place just recently opened and it is amazing! The food is delicious. I got the classic Smash Burger, the sweet potato smash fries, and a salted caramel shake and they were all mouth watering. It was super busy but it was very well managed. Everyone was super friendly & even though the line was quite long, I will be visiting here again very soon. Two thumbs up! read more

I came here after buying into the hype. I will admit when you first walk in the aroma gets you but after ordering I felt like I got the short end of the stick. For one there is no sense of professionalism. I understand about having fun in the work place but I would appreciate you not standing around talking and laughing over my food. And for the 30$ I would expect some fresh avocado. I could have went to Applebee's and got better food and service. Never again smash burger you were less than smashing. read more

Nice place ! The burgers were really good ! My wife and I got food to go and brought home food for our 2 kids. Altogether the food was about $40. Where can you go to get 4 burgers and fries for that amount, other than a fast food joint. The food is good and the price is right. I think if you're in the area it's worth a shot. I don't think you'll regret it. read more

Burgers are made fresh which, to me, is the biggest perk of all. There are an assortment of toppings that can be added or you can chose from their predesigned burgers and chicken sandwiches. Either way you can't go wrong. I've never had anything but a pleasant experience here. It's often crowded but the line moves quickly and it's generally easy to get a table. I'm all about sides and they do not disappoint. Smash fries, buffalo fries, stack of onions and fried pickles are my favorites. Deciding which to get with my order is what generally takes the bulk of my time. Overall I would have to say that the service is satisfactory. Employees are pleasant and helpful and they are always cleaning the place which is a plus with any food establishment. In my opinion this place is the perfect combination between seated restaurant and fast food joint. Definitely eat here- you will not be disappointed! read more

3 sit down. Water free. Sit down dinner. Second time, but first time at this one. Mall food. Not bad but could be so much better. Maybe we picked the wrong burgers, but the best one was a tangy chili/bbq sauce. Everything else was okay. Cheese and burger works. Chicken mixes weird taste into it. read more

On of the best burgers to be honest. Really love their burgers and french fries. I would recommend who doesn't know yet

The food is yummy and the employees are pleasant. But every time I come here (which is not often) they always get my order wrong and by the time I come home and realize it's too late. I'm not going to name every mistake.Just now I ordered the jalapeño Baja burger and I got something else. The last time I went they forgot my fries even though it was on the receipt. I'm holding myself responsible for not checking the meals but these mistakes happen almost every time I come here read more

The food was great as always. My problem was a safety matter. I have gone twice this month and I won't go again. Both times the lines were long inside the very small establishment. No room for social distancing when you order, then you remain inside the small place until your order is ready. Both times I went thee were staff and customers without a mask. Kitchen staff had on masks as far as I could see. But the same male no mask. They need to enforce mask policy for both staff and patrons in this small space. If anyone gets sick 7/25 a young lady walked in and stood at pick up area. Right in front without mask and was sighing and huffing about something. No one reminded her about masks. She didn't even have one under her chin. She stood next to the man handing out everyone's order. read more
