I took my phone with a cracked screen here to see if I could get it replaced. They replaced it for $100 and I also realized that I needed a battery replacement and they did that as well, so I also took them up on replacing that for $50. After all of that was replaced, I purchased a $20 Screen protector and I walked away. After two minutes, I realized that there was a white glare on my screen, and I took it back and he fixed it within 20 minutes. As a day proceeded, I realize that my phone was glitching and much slower than it was before replacing the screen and the battery. I also realized that my battery was not holding a charge or charging quickly. This is when I called the number I had on my receipt and spoke to a man that said I can bring it in the next day. I returned the next day asking for help or if there is something that they can do and basically they said that since they replaced these with non-apple replacements that there was nothing they can do. None of this was disclosed to me before I asked them to replace these parts on my phone. If I had known upfront that it was going to be dramatically slower altogether I would've never wasted $180 and 2 hours of my time. I am now purchasing a new iPhone, which is why I came to this kiosk in the first place so I could refrain from buying a complete new iPhone. *Warning* test your phones speaker and camera (front and back) if you do decide to have your phone fixed here. Long story short, I cracked my phone while in DC for work in September. Brought it to be fixed at Smartfix. Priced reasonably an only an hour wait time I dropped it off. Came back an hour later and the phone was fixed. Paid and went on my way. 2 minutes after leaving the store I received a phone call. Couldn't hear the person on the other end without static. Immediately turned around and went back to the store o figure out what was up. They apologized and fixed it. Fast forward six hours later, I'm at a football game and go to take a picture and everything is blurry. Thought it was too many beers, but sure enough turned out to be a camera malfunction. I live in FL and had an flight the next day. Unable to get back to the store, I went back today (back in DC for work). Brought it back in and they assumed no responsibility. Since I got my phone fixed here in June, I have not had further issues with the screen. I still am giving this location 2 stars however, because of what it took for me to get the phone fixed properly. I also think that some of my software had been effected by this because of the initial issues that I had. For example, when I first got it fixed, I couldn't hear anything. Now I can hear with headphones, speaker phone, and regularly, but somehow now my calls are unable to be heard through my car, which was not the case before the screen cracked. I still would not recommend this place, but wanted to be clear that my phone is now functional after the initial three attempts. If I could, I'd give 0 stars. Literally brought my phone in last week. They replaced my screen with a cheap screen. You can see the difference between my phone screen and my husbands phone. My phone fell on the CARPET this morning and the screen popped off, and a huge piece came off!!! That's when I realized they GLUED my screen back on. I called to see if they could do something about it and they said I have to pay the whole $110 again to get it replaced! I am sooooo upset!! Wish I had read the reviews beforehand! Had similar issues with the screen coming out in one corner after being "repaired" and disabling the phone completely. I took it back and they said it was a know issue with a recall (not true from what I can find) so there was nothing they could do. They suggested supergluing it even though they acknowledged that could ruin the display completely!! What?!? I took it to Tech Doc in old town Alexandria and they fixed it in 20 minutes. I brought my iPad mini to Smart Fix on a Friday because it fell 2 feet (in the case) and had a small crack in one corner of the screen. Other than the small crack, the iPad was completely functional, but it is my daughter's iPad, so we decided to get it fixed so the glass didn't cut her little fingers. Smart Fix took my iPad and said they could fix it by tomorrow, no problem. After charging me $169, I left waiting to hear from smart fix the next day. I got a call from Calvin the next day saying they needed to order a retina screen and asked if Tuesday would be okay to return the iPad, which I agreed to. When Tuesday rolled around and I hadn't heard from Calvin, I called the Smart Fix store to check on the status of the iPad. After a lot of confusion---apparently they had mixed up my iPad with another customers ipad, Calvin informed me that they were unable to fix my iPad and he needed to return it unfixed. He asked to check the Tyson's location to see if someone there was able to fix it, and I agreed. Finally on Friday, Calvin called and said the iPad was unable to have the screen replaced, even though they had previously told me it would be no problem. I went in to pick up the iPad and was horrified. Not only was my iPad NOT fixed, but there were now cracks ALL OVER the screen, parts of the screen were completely broken off, the home button DID NOT WORK, the power button DID NOT WORK---essentially, it is ruined. I took the iPad to the apple store afterwards and was told it is beyond repair, and now, out of warranty. I would not recommend going to Smart Fix for ANYONE. Not only did they mislead me about their ability to fix a small, simple crack, but they completely destroyed my iPad in the process. Calvin offered me 25% off of my next service because of what they put me through, but I will never go back. This has been the most disappointing experience. I have had to replace the screens on various devices over the last few years, and this was the first and only time a technician has not been able to resolve the problem. Went in to repair an iPad mini with a cracked screen. Immediately after the repair, I noticed dirt under the screen obstructing the display. Worse yet, the screen started to detach from the iPad within hours of getting it home. On a side note, the owner lies about his credit card system being down so you'll pay in cash and he can avoid paying the credit card fee. They are located at a Kiosk in Pentagon city mall. Long story short, Mohammed broke my phone in the process of fixing it, put it back together and gave it back to me. When I told him he did more damage to it then good, he proceeded to accuse me of breaking the phone after he "fixed" it. He was very uncooperative and claimed that he was the manager after I told him to contact his manager so I could speak with him. In the end, I had to get the police involved in order to get his real name as well as locate his manager. The manager Saif, is just as crooked, claiming that I did damage to my phone after his employee fixed it. These guys are deceitful and the manager backs them up. I took my iPhone to the SmartFix kiosk at Pentagon Centre Mall. What a big mistake!! I paid $120 to get the screen replaced, however the colors did not look the same but much paler. I did not have time to come back to complain about the poor quality of the new screen. 2 months later the screen starts to show white stripes. I took the iPhone to the kiosk again, the guy wanted to charge another $90 to fix the problem. I ended up going upstairs to the mac store just to have the screen replaced. They said the screen was coming off because it was not installed tight enough on the first place, unfortunately I had to pay Apple $150 just to give me a new screen because they do not fix third party errors. I made the decision out of desperation because the Apple Store was closed for remodeling and I was going out of the country in a few days. So, I got my screen replaced here again, and after about 15 days the screen starts dying constantly. I can get it to come back on by powering the phone down and then back up. IF YOU VALUE YOUR APPLE PRODUCT, DO NOT USE SMARTFIX FOR REPAIRS!! On Feb. 1st 2015, I called around to few companies in the area for iPhone 6 screen repair because I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. I received a quote from a place in Arlington for 89.00 to replace the screen. So after that, I began calling around to other places just to compare prices. I stumbled upon Smartfix and they gave me a quote of 159.99. I quickly told them that I had talked to several places that gave me a quote for under $100.00 for the repair. I was then informed by their rep. that if I had the iPhone replaced at any of those other repair shops that my screen would eventually stop working again because of bad quality products. And that they offered a warranty. I ended up taking my phone to SmartFix. They looked at the phone, said it was a pretty simple repair, and that it would be ready in an hour. I came back in an hour to pick up my phone and it looked great, screen was new again. Well the screen problem was fixed but when I tried to make a phone call, the callers now, could not hear me. I called Smartfix and told them the issue, they asked me to bring the phone back and reminded me of the 30day warranty. I took the phone back a day later and again was quoted the hour wait time again except this time when I returned they stated that they could not repair my phone and that they would have to take it to their main office and I could pick it up around 7pm the next day. Annoyingly, I agreed to let them take the phone and came back at 7pm the next day to pickup the phone. The rep. said the phone works just fine now as she had been testing it off and on the entire day. Well, I tried to make a call to ensure the quality, and the phone still did not work. Again, they asked to take the phone back to their main shop to fix it and I could pick it up the next day again. At this point I became extremely frustrated with regards to the service quality and decided to take the phone to Apple. I went to the Apple store and an hour later they said that the phone could not be repaired and gave me a new one on the spot. I then returned to SmartFix and asked for a refund for the inconvenience the bad service quality. I was denied. I asked them to even meet me half way (partial refund) because I knew that they worked on my phone and fixed the screen however they created another problem with the sound issue. I was also denied. Had them replace the battery on my iPhone 4s on May 4th. As of June 6th, my phone will die at 30%. Tech tells me that there is nothing they can do since its been 30 days. I got my shattered phone "fixed" a couple months ago at Smartfix and since carried my phone with a case to prevent cracking my screen ever again. I started to notice a light was shining from the sides of my phone and noticed the screen was lifting. It has gotten so bad, I can literally just pull it off if i wanted to. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Do NOT, I repeat Do NOT come here to get your phone fixed. I came to the kiosk at Pentagon City mall at Arlington VA, located in the food court. They quoted me $120 to get my screen and LCD replaced on my iPhone 7plus. Once they replaced the screen, there was an instant notice in the difference of the quality of the screen that they used compared to an apple screen. I spoke to someone at the kiosk, and he replaced it. There was still a notice of differences, but I waited for so long for him to replace the screen that I was ready to go. The very next day, not even a full 24 hours, my phone screen began to lift and the screen went totally black where I could not see nor touch anything. I had not dropped the phone, and no other incidents had occurred since getting the phone fixed. I went back to the kiosk in the mall, and the manager was very rude to me. He spoke to me in a very degrading manner and yelled at me and told me that it was my fault for the damages, and that they were not responsible. I told him how unprofessional not only his product replacements were, but how he was also unprofessional, he stated how he did not care. After a long time of going back and forth, where there shouldn't have been any disagreement on his behalf, he finally agreed to replace the screen. While replacing the screen, I noticed that they were about to use glue to glue the screen down. I told him to not use any glue on my phone. The manager grew very aggravated and gave me my money back. I went to Apple, where I should've originally gone, where they replaced my entire phone for $170. The entire had to be replaced because I later learned that Smart Fix had also damaged my phone. I went to Smartfix a week from last Saturday to get my iPhone 6 screen replaced. I was told the wait would be 1 hour and 10 minutes for the repair. When I came back 1 hour and 20 minutes later, my phone was set to the side and we was working on the phone of a person that was in line after me. Obviously, I was extremely annoyed at this. So, I proceeded to stand there and wait to ensure that he didn't start working on someone else's phone. In the meantime, he had to stop multiple times to go run his other cart that had a patron trying to buy something. Because I was standing there and he was already late, he rushed to get my phone finished, After leaving, I noticed the top of it did not seem attached properly, but I thought maybe it was just my imagination (or annoyance). A few days in the top was completely detached. When I took it back one week later, he accused me of dropping it again (which I had not). I also noticed several times during the week my phone was not working properly (doing things it had not done before the repair), which he also said was not his fault (what a coincidence). This is a while back but it is worth very much listening to around back in May 2017 , I went to smartfix and there was Asian guy working there at the time and I had a iPhone 5S, it was the only store I knew of and at the time there was many positives reviews on smart-fix it was also a reasonable price so I went in because my iPhone was cracked and the Asian guy saw my phone and fixed it in no time, at the time I didn't think anything of it but then weeks go by and I start realizing how DIRTY my front camera was and also my home button kept popping out , this was a big problem and I would go there about everyday to try to resolve the problem and they also said it was my fault and I shouldn't use my phone like that , THE ASIAN GUY that was fixing my phone rushed it and that's when I realize what mistake I have done about going to this place but after weeks of arguing they finally decide to fix my home button and fix my camera that was dirty ... the only problem is the home button didn't even work after a couple hours and there was no Touch ID , there customer service is absolutely terrible and I don't want anyone going there ... everyone that works there are super lazy and rush there work ... a few months go by and I did the same mistake again ... it was November 2017 now and my iPhone was pretty much done so I went around pentagon shopping for a new one . I made a mistake of going to smartfix and buying a iPhone 6 for $300 .... it was refurbished which I thought nothing of it but when I got home and used the fuckin phone the battery would die at 40 percent and the phone was scathed up everywhere !!!!!!!!! I also wish I had read the reviews of this place before I went there. My iPhone X screen had cracked so I went to SmartFix and asked for it to be replaced. I was shocked at the price ($250 plus tax) but was told the reason it was so high was because they use Apple replacement parts. Less than 24 hours after the "repair", my phone would not stay on - my screen kept blacking out and I needed to do a reset every time I used the phone. Finally the screen went black and it would not come on even after attempting the various reset options. I went back the next day only to be told they did not have a replacement part and I would have to wait 24 hours. So I decided to walk around to the Apple store, where I was told this was a very common complaint with 3rd party parts, and many people who used the services of SmmartFix ended up coming back to Apple to get a proper repair job done using genuine parts. The annoying thing is the genuine Apple replacement part cost me the same as the inferior 3rd party part used by this store. I consider this to be a $250 lesson learned. I'm an iPhone 6 users who has been to this company several time on occasions where I've had cracks, battery damage, and LCD repairs. They are HORRIBLE. They appear to give good customer service and stand behind their work only to keep you coming back. They don't place all the screws back in properly which causes your screen to be damaged quickly from a regular drop. Recently my phone fell off the bed and the LCD broke. I took it to another company where they told me about the many missing screws from places like the camera, the bottom near the speakers, and in the hardware inside the phone. My iPhone 6 fell last night as I was walking to my car. Was horrified when picking it up that my screen had shattered in so badly. I made an appointment at the Apple Store in Pentagon City Mall. After waiting like 30-40 minutes for the Genius Bar rep, he told me he couldn't repair it and had to buy a new iPhone instead because there was a "dent" on the corner. I didn't want to spend that much on buying a new iPhone. I found the SmartFix repair business right next to the Apple store and they said they could fix it with no problem. Was a little worried at first since Apple said they couldn't fix it. The SmartFix rep eased my worries and answered all my questions because I was worried about losing all my data on my phone including all the pictures I had that I didn't back up. He told me that they do a lot of repairs and have experience on repairing iPhones that Apple deems "un-repairable" and that they even gave a 30 day warranty just in case something went wrong. After only 25 minutes, my iPhone was successfully repaired and was looking & working like it was brand new! I was so happy and relieved I had my iPhone back working properly AND didn't lose any of my pictures! My iPhone screen was shattered. I took it to this place to be repaired...thinking I could save some time and money. WRONG! Although they replaced my screen for $116, I had to take it back 4 times including 4 metro fees. Initially, the call would not call out and the speaker did not work. Next I discovered the camera did not work. Finally, the screen would not lock when making phone calls. The phone would dial numbers and it also started playing music while talking on the phone. To add insult to the situation, they wanted to charge me $70 to repair the issue that they created! If I could give this place zero stars I would. First of all I called the place ahead of time to ask how much it would cost to get my phone repaired since it had slight water damage. The guy told me it would cost twenty dollars. I asked him repeatedly and he insisted. When I got all the way down there from NE he then said it would cost me 99.99 to get it fixed. Not only was he claiming that even though he made the mistake it would still be 99 dollars the disagreement turned into him yelling at me. The store manager then offered me to take the 20 dollar diagnostic off and I agreed. When it was time to pay he then said my total was now going to be 106.00 when i refused to pay extra he took off 10 dollars which I still thought was entirely too much money, the entire time the representative who gave me the wrong information continued yelling threats and explicit words in the toward me and my friend even making comments about us sexually. I ended up paying 95 dollars. Please don't ever waste your time coming here! Especially the one on the third floor by Nordstroms, they are incompetent and charge extremely high prices when you get in the store after giving you a completely different price over the phone. read more
