It's definitely not our fault that she didn't study enough and didn't have a better opportunity in life and became an attendant. We just asked her for details about the product because she works there. If she doesn't like her job, then don't work there. Acting like a monkey is not recommended for the company. She couldn't even be a prostitute, because a prostitute has to be polite and attractive. We came a very long way to get to this store. We wanted information about a product, but we were going to buy 1,200 units. It seems like you don't care, but just out of curiosity, how do you allow someone to work like that? I went to Batteries Plus to receive a new car key for my Subaru. I purchased one key and waited over an hour only for the representative to tell me they couldn't figure it out. I purchased a second key from them (this one $100 more) and went back the next week, only for the exact same thing to happen - both times waiting an hour, both times not getting what I paid for. I took the key to a locksmith in DC and the locksmith said the key was faulty. Not only this, but the key was chipped from their multiple unsuccessful attempts to program my key. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE...that has a warranty anyway. We recently purchased a home with a brand new sup pump battery. The previous homeowners assured us there was a warranty on the battery. The battery was faulty so we took it in to exchange it. Even though there was a warranty on the battery *apparently* it's only valid for the person who purchased the item (battery.) I went back and forth with customer service saying, "what if I bought a battery for my grandmother?", "what if the original purchaser dies?" All valid questions. They couldn't truly answer any of them. This is one of those shops you don't plan on going to, but it's pleasant enough because 1) the team members there are competent, helpful, swift, and customer focused. Too, you can find every imaginable and unimaginable type of bulb and battery here, which is whole lot easier than going to some big box store. I visited recently with a shattered iPhone 6+ screen. After 2 hours at the Apple Store ($300 to fix!) and my Verizon insurance coverage ($199 plus waiting 1-2 days for a shipment of a refurbished phone), Batteries Plus won the price and convenience showdown. They charged $179 (not cheap, but still the low price leader), and we're done in 45 min. I noticed the home button was sticking after the repair, and they quickly fixed it, no complaints. For years I've struggled with replacing the batteries in my heart rate monitor and sensor. I know the pain of trying to get those little discs out only to find that 3 of the 4 in the pack you bought are dead. So when they died this time, I said no more. I popped in 20 minutes before my workout with my trainer and made it to my appt. in time. They replaced both batteries - even checking to make sure that the replacements were good - and sent me on my way. I was happy to see that the technical tools I used - a nickel and a micro screwdriver - were the same ones utilized here. But so much nicer having someone else do it in a fraction of the time and deal with the frustration of dead "new" batteries. Money well spent! read more

About 5 weeks ago I purchased a battery for my motorcycle from a different store which is quite far. The original screws did not fit. So I went to the Alexandria store near me to see if I could get screws that would fit. All 3 guys in there set everything aside trying to help me. Well they couldn't find screws. Don't go to this store for any reason. They are inept at best. I asked them to fix my charger port, they said it would take about an hour and half. Then they said they needed 2 more hours. After that point, they said the phone broke. Upon further questioning, the technician said he broke the phone. "Let me get my manager." There was about 20 minutes of scrambling and then they said they were going to find a part from another phone. That took about 2 more hours. I sat there waiting for some explanation, something. After the next promised time came and went, my frustration blew over and I asked for my phone back. They put it back together with the home key busted and without a working charger port. Hey, how about a refund for wasting my entire afternoon? Also, it's clear if you don't have the coupon for the discount on the repair, they will not tell you about - which sounds predatory to me. And they want your email, but say "we don't share info, we are just a franchise," which makes no sense if you think about it. I learned all this because I sat there for 2 hours (!) waiting for my phone to be repaired. Terrible! Get it? Don't go there. I mean it, they will break your phone. Don't go there. read more

Have been here twice for cracked iPhone screens. I'm embarrassed to say I'm not sure what the black guys name is that worked there- but he was cool. Nice and helpful. The guy who fixed my phone Jeremy was super cool and helpful as well. They replaced my screen yesterday but my screen kept going gray. I called him and he told me it could be a defective screen and to bring it back and he would fix it. He fixed it under an hour and did it with a smile emphasizing their warranty. I've had some really bad customer service lately so I was worried that coming back to them with my phone not working right they were going to be nasty about it and blame it on me. Not at all. They were both nice and accommodating. I would recommend anyone to go there with their cracked phone screens. Thank you so much for making me feel like a valued customer. read more

Went in because Verizon advised me to get a new phone, though, I thought it might be a battery issue. It was. And 15 minutes later I had a new battery installed and my phone was working fine. To sum up this long review: Batteries Plus, broke my perfectly working watch and lied to me several times. They were also very disrespectful. When we lived in Fairfax, my wife and I would take our watches, and other appliances to the Batteries Plus in Fairfax. It was convenient, the service was good and it wasn't expensive. We moved to Arlington recently and sought out the closest Batteries Plus: this one in Alexandria. I have used Timex Ironman watches for decades. They last a long time and have the types of timers that I use for exercise and other activities. My newest Ironman was showing signs of a dying battery. When switching modes, the display would fade a little bit. I decided to get a new battery now, rather than wait until the old one completely died. The day before I took it to Battery Plus, I had a workout at the gym in which I used the interval timer and the standard watch functions. The watch was working perfectly. The next day at BatteriesPlus, a young man took the watch and proceeded to open it up and change the battery. Later, from the manager, I learned that he was a new part-time employee. He did not check whether the watch was working before working on it. After working on it for quite awhile, it was deemed finished and given back to me. Before paying, I pushed a few buttons to make sure everything was functioning properly. The buttons for changing modes and setting times would not depress anymore and would not work. The young man took the watch back and went to work on it again. We stood around waiting for quite awhile. He told us that there would be another employee showing up at noon who was better with Timex's. We could go home and they would call us after he got to work on it. So, we went home. Early in the afternoon, Batteries Plus called. Another young man on the phone said, your watch is working now, you can come and pick it up. I drove all the way back to the store. But, when I tried the watch, it was exactly as before. The buttons would not depress nor work. At this point, another young man began working on it. He also told me that the watch had been broken when I brought it in. This was the first of many times that the employees of Battery Plus told me this lie. Again, I waited in vain. After awhile, this employee gave up too. He said that there would be yet another man who was more knowledgeable who would be in the store the next day. I ask what they would do if they couldn't fix this watch that had been functioning perfectly before they broke it. He said something about the store having insurance for such things. I made sure they still had my contact information and left. The next day came and went. No call from Battery Plus. Early the next day, Monday, I called and asked to speak with the manager. When I started describing the situation to the manager, the first thing he said is "That's not what I heard..." He told me that the story in the store is that I brought them a broken watch. I told the manager that the watch had been working perfectly and everything else that had happened. The manager said that they would send the watch to a main office where it would be looked at and determined if insurance would be used to reimburse me. He said it would take a couple of weeks. Since I wasn't expecting to hear anything for awhile, I was surprised when the store called me the very next day. It was the second young man who had worked on my watch. "We have fixed your watch. You can come pick it up. Your watch was missing two springs. It was that way when you brought it in. But we went and fixed it anyway." I was angry that, once again, I was being accused of giving them a broken watch, but I kept that to myself and agreed to come pick up and pay for the watch. At the store later, again the young man started telling me how the watch was broken when they got it. I asked him how he could have known that since he wasn't even at the store when the first young man started messing with it. Of course, he didn't have anything to say to that. I checked the watch out before paying. The buttons seemed a bit stiffer than before, but they worked. So, I paid and took my watch home. Too bad I didn't actually test out the time function all the way. It wasn't until I was at the gym two days later that I found out that, now, the beeps for the timers and alarms no longer sound. I considered that, perhaps, they had been turned off and I could find out how to turn them back on by downloading a new manual. I downloaded the watch manual from the Timex website, but there is no way to turn off the alarm beep for the timer functions. (There is a way to turn an hourly chime on and off, but that is something different.) I did further internet searches, but was unable to fix the watch. At this point, I'm just going to order a new watch. BatteriesPlus has lost this customer. read more

I had a pretty horrible experience with this store, which I'd like to pass on to others. Nearly two months ago, I brought in my Polar sports watch, and asked for replacement battery. The watch was a gift and had sentimental value as well as intrinsic value ($380 when new). The watch worked perfectly but needed a new battery. I paid for a new battery, which the guy behind the counter agreed to install. When I went back to pick it up a few hours later, the same person said that they broke the watch but would replace it with a new watch of comparable value. I left my phone number and waited for a call. Days went by. Weeks went by. They never called. I returned to the store and got the runaround ("it's on the way"). Thus, this Battery Store destroyed my watch and kept it. They also kept the new battery I'd purchased from them, and they lied about about compensating me for my losses. I have found the personnel at this store to be arrogant and dishonest. If they don't have the wherewithal to install a battery in a watch, they should not try to do it. Worse, they should keep the commitments that store personnel make to customers. I am out my sport watch, my cost in purchasing a battery from them and anything approaching an apology from the Alexandria King Street Battery Store. read more

Went to buy a 6 volt lantern battery... Picked inexpensive generic and at the register the price was $7 instead of the $4 posted. Complained; was told that they need to update prices. Thought, oh well, I'll spend the extra buck and buy the name brand alkaline instead as is was only $1 more ($8) At the register it rang up at $11. After complaining that posted price was wrong again, received same story but no offer to make good or compromise. Left the store without buying anything. I can easily understand prices being outdated and would not have minded (too much) prices off by 5% or 10% but by 30%+ on multiple products? Really? And no attempt to work with the customer? When i was driving home, i notice the right side of the phone's screen and sensor were separated. I immediately called about the damage and the person over the phone said "just come in we'll fix it". Luckily I was only 2 mim away so I thought; when i got there the manager and the repair guy mysteriously left for the day. I'm a regular person who wanted a battery replace for my phone. I walked into Batteries Plus for the first time with a picture on my phone of a couple lightbulbs I needed replaced. As I scrolled my phone searching for the photo, I heard one of the employees say "I'll go and help her while you finish him up". I didn't really think that the employee would come over to me within 15 seconds of walking in and ask me how he could help. He was attentive with finding the bulbs I needed, friendly, and offered some additional tips on energy savings. I appreciated the excellent customer service and will return for sure. read more

I needed a new charger for my old camera, and I was having trouble finding one until someone recommended batteries plus. I never would have guessed they could help. Turns out they have a set of semi-universal chargers in stock, and were able to find something for me quickly. They helped me find what I needed from looking at the camera with me, then opened it up, so that I could test it out before buying. Definitely would go again. read more

They also repair iPhones, screens/backs/audio problems. Receiver/speaker problems run around $45 bucks, back replacement is $30, and a screen replacement is $120. He broke down the screen and labor costs. Not bad, but I'd just have the phone replaced by insurance for $150. read more

Worst customer service ever. I walked into the store and asked the employee on duty if he could help me determine what kind of battery I needed for my car key Fob. He flat out told me "no, we don't do that". I said that's funny because every other time I've come into this very store the other guys have always looked it up for me and told me what I need. This person said "we don't do that. We can install it for you". I told him I don't need you to install it, I need you to tell me what kind of battery I need. I said "you're telling me you can't look it up using that computer right there" and he flat out said "no". So I told him that I was leaving his store, and going to buy the batteries from another store because he wasn't very helpful. If you're in the battery selling business - you should put in the extra effort to help your customers determine what kind of batteries they need. Might be a good idea if you don't want to lose business. Just a tip: Good Customer Service is the key to staying in business. I will never go to this store again. read more

Was a great help rounding up 8 at his store and was just a super pleasant guy to deal with throughout the transaction and unloading battery cores and loading up the new batteries.
