I arrived around 9:30 AM, and their most popular donuts were already almost sold out. That's always a good sign! I ended up getting a cruller and a strawberry-frosted donut. I tried to practice a little self-control by eating only half of each and saving the rest for later, but that plan quickly went out the window. They were just too good to resist! Later in the day, I told my friend she needed to check this place out for their donuts, only for her to tell me that it's her go-to spot every Sunday. Clearly, she's been in on this little gem for a while! While paying for my donuts, I also noticed they serve chicken, which gives me another reason to come back. I can't wait to try some more of their donuts and eventually venture into their chicken sandwiches. Definitely worth a stop when exploring downtown Chicago, especially if you have a sweet tooth!

We walked to this location and it was busy! It's a walk-in location but they have a few stools inside and tables outside to enjoy your food. In addition to donuts, as the name suggests they also have a variety of chicken tenders and sandwiches, but at 9:30 in the morning, it was a little early for me to enjoy chicken, but I'm sure it's delicious! It was hard to choose what donut to eat because they all looked delicious, but I settled on the apple fritter and my wife had the gluten-free sprinkle one and it was so good, she ordered a second to go. My apple fritter was great and not too sweet. Based on the donuts, I would come back to try the chicken! What a great local spot with great donuts.

My wife bought a donut here. and then when she attempted to take a photo of the interior, she was told that she wasn't allowed to take photos. Then, we when she asked to use the restroom, she was bluntly told, "You may not use the restroom," because she wasn't a "sit-down" customer. The manager didn't attempt to even smooth things over but instead robotically processed her refund on the donut. It was incredibly frustrating to support a local business as a paying customer and be denied a basic amenity over an arbitrary distinction. They're closed anyway, but not supporting their future endeavors because of their customer service.

Tl:dr A handcrafted, handmade breakfast sandwich bakery that specializes in all that, & donuts with various allergen free ingredients. The moment you step inside this location (of which there are two more), & this is the larger of the three, & the newest one, you feel like this is a part of a larger whole. Yes, that includes that whole, & the hole in the numerous doughnuts they offer. You. Will. Feel. Whole after your first few bites, & especially after one of their breakfast sandwiches. And, if you don't, then go ahead, & practice yoga with the convenient chart in the bathroom on the right side! There's plenty of room in the bathroom to do yoga after you've been smacked down hard with all the Smack Dab baked sandwiches, biscuits, muffins, & donuts! Then you shall feel whole, & perhaps without the holier than thou attitude. What's more?! Their food is handcrafted, & handmade in house with select ingredients, & often times from the local area. Food: their doughnuts are vegan, & you'll likely have them in flavors such as passion fruit guava, chai, cinnamon sugar, & the like. Their cheesy herb biscuits are good with their house made jams or sandwiched between soft scrambled eggs with your choice of add ons: red onion, tomato, & bacon jams. It's tough to choose between the jams, so might as well mix atleast two into the breakfast sandwich. What I like about the business is their adherence to the community specifically, & not just to Chicago. It's heartening to see people do good, & smack down good, & proper in a world of people selling bananas in a banana republic. I went here with a friend and it was good, but sadly, not great. They only had one server, and I felt really bad for them having to cover both the indoor and outdoor seating. There seemed to be a lot of BOH staff for such a small place. I ordered a maple latte that was pretty disappointing. It was lukewarm and lacked flavor. My breakfast sandwich, the best seller, was yummy but not worth the price point in my opinion. My friend loved her dish, the Indian sandwich with a side salad. One perk is they are in a strip mall, so there's easy parking. I'm not in a rush to return, but overall it wasn't a bad experience, there's just room for improvement. read more

Cute queer friendly cafe. I'd probably go more for the vibe than the food. That being said, nothing was bad. The donuts are sort of churro like, but none of the flavors were particularly standout. Donuts are delicious, and it's fun how they change the donuts menu. I once experienced coffee and food coming out really late but they gave us free donuts to compensate their mistakes. Not a lot of places do this anymore, just telling customers to wait, but here, they acted quick. I love their coffee also. Vegan Sandwiches: The vegan BLTA was very yummy according to our vegan friends - they said the seitan was nicely seasoned and the garlic aoili was really good. They also opted into getting a bagel with vegan cream cheese + the basil pesto. The coffee was great! The ube latte was a little sweet for my liking but the espresso they use is great. The service was quick and the server was super nice/chill! The cafe itself has about 10ish tables and can be a great space to catch up with a friend or WFH with outlets around. Which -my opinion - is GREAT coffee. I love it, and this will bring me back again and again for coffee here. The Horchata latte was delicious and smooth. It was a bit sweet, but I expected that, 'cos Horchata. Very tasty! Breakfast sandwich. SO GOOD. Sausage, cheese, egg and tomato! With some breakfast potatoes on the side - everything was very tasty. If you get hooked on the Dark Matter coffee, as I am, and want to buy bags of it, he can order it for you. My only complaint is they don't open until 8:30 on some weekedays. I'm out the door at 7 AM, they might catch more of the morning commuter crowd if they open a little earlier. I'll be happy though, to visit them on weekends at any rate. I was going to Sip & Savor, and still love them, their coffee is great. Their food options, however, are not as good as DdL - the fresh made breakfast sammiches at Dulce, are DELICIOUS.

He said no because it's a Chicken Thigh? It didn't say Chicken Thigh on the menu. So, if you're used to a Nashville type chicken sandwich this may not be your kind of place. Everything on the sandwich was really good including the croissant roll and all of the ingredients. I'd go back and order something different I liked their Iced Tea. It was very good.
