Super friendly staff. I was greeted with a big smile and huge thanks for coming in for my first time. I was on my bike looking for a unique and healthy stop for lunch with outdoor seating. Delighted to find Smack Dab- yummy green Sammie and coffee with gluten-free cookie will fuel me for my ride back to Chicago. Thank you!

Overall this is my Top 1 Favourite Spot of all time. If I can give a 100 stars this is it! This a not your ordinary cafe or anything you're thinking of. This is Smack Dab! The foods, drinks, snacks, vegan donuts are all the best in every way. Making there food delicious, healthy, guilt-free, many ways help our immune system, natural ingredients. This is the spot. The food feels like you're eating a delicious meal but it is light. Donuts everyday different flavours. The coffee drinks always delicious. Also this is vegan, vegetarian friendly, Gluten free friendly and religious dietary friendly here. The service always Everytime above and beyond the universe. They are so kind. They do go by pronouns here, it's on their name tag. We all love that. Owners are there, you will get to see them bc they are fanatic. When walking yes you will a lovely big spider with some sort of festive outfit!! And magnolia flowers around. Very chill vibes. As well it does get loud bc it is a sit in and dine in. There is a line time to time but the food and drinks are delicious. Also most of times, donuts do get sold out so hell come and get some. You can do take out, order online. This cafe is the best of the best. It's my approval of everything.

I just visited Smack Dab and I have to tell somebody about it. Y'all! First of all, they have so many great options for all the difficult people like me with dietary restrictions that don't make sense - gluten free vegetarian. I was still able to enjoy an amazing super filling breakfast sandwich with vegan sausage which is unheard of in most places. They are doing the good work. Secondly, they serve cafe du monde, which has its own distinct flavor but it is one I happen to LOVE! I had the Marie Louise and it was delicious! The gallery wall had me hooked and the staff were all so kind as I made my choices. And, the most touching thing is that when a man, who was clearly suffering from some challenges came in, they did not hesitate to feed him. My heart... there's still good people out here... I'm forever a fan.

AMAZING!!!!!! The donuts were some of the best I've ever had. Service being at the cashier was amazing. They took the time to explain items in the best way possible while also providing the menu. I appreciated the fact they didn't just hand the menu!! So kind and actually delicious food! Can't wait to go back

Good breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Tasty coffee options. A variety of dietary options. Fun/weird ambience. You order at counter. But food is brought out, servers were attentive. A little pricey for what you get though. $80 with tip for 3 people with lattes and OJ. So keep that in mind.

Smack Dab Chicago is a gem in Rogers Park! Gourmet breakfast sandwiches, donuts, and coffee with a side of awesome vibes. Love the inclusive options - vegan, veggie, and gluten-free eats for everyone! Food was DELISH, and the atmosphere's got that perfect community spot feel. Worth every penny (even if prices are a tad steep). Can't wait to come back for more brunch magic The service was impeccable too

What a gem! I have celiac (gluten free) and they had a ton of gf options! I got the strip mall bowl and an iced matcha and it was so filling I had to take leftovers! It's very refreshing to see a place be so firmly itself and its beliefs, with reminders about the servers' pronouns and political messages throughout. Definitely a community spot, lots of regulars and it's clear to see why. Expect a bit of a wait on weekends, but it is very worth it.

We had an impromptu brunch here and love a good shaded patio. They were okay with pets and the food came out quick. We ordered for two ppl and got Golden chai, Salted Carmel latte, The bestest sandwich, and The best sandwich all for $47. They have GF/Veg options available and overall the food was seasoned well and the eggs were fluffy. Plenty of parking options and seating inside and out. Would recommend!

Inclusive and tasty place for breakfast/brunch. Many vegan options and non-pork for folks like me. It's a counter service place. Place your order, find a seat and it will be brought to you. Everything is made to order. Modern pop hits plays on the speaker and funky art and witty quotes line the walls.

Got breakfast here on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. Definitely kid friendly, and the staff are super sweet. We got our food quickly, and it came out as it was made which is always a benefits when you have kids. The place is cute, LGBTQIA friendly, pro-Palestine, incredible. The food... very good, but I think I liked the vibe more. I got the breakfast burrito with smoked bacon, I think I wanted less egg more burrito ingredients like beans, salsa, something along those lines. It was more of a breakfast wrap. But a VeryVery good breakfast wrap. My partner got a Shakshouka breakfast sandwich which looked and tasted great. Lots of flavor is what I am told. My kiddo got a donut, tempered hot cocoa and loved it all. Great New Orleans style coffee, wonderful environment.

First of all, everything about this place is amazing! The food & drinks, the consistent mutual aid efforts, the moral backbone of the owner & staff, the community engagement & support, the welcoming atmosphere, comfortable dining experience, and more... I enjoyed a knockout spicy peach sammie on a bogo deal so I could enjoy one for me and drop off one for the community fridge! And 5% of my order total went to two families affected by ICE abductions! I also scooped 5 ICE spotter whistles for free to pass out to my crew. Love this place !!! Not to mention I once placed a large order and received a surprise free take-and-bake cinnamon roll kit that was absolute perfection!

It's not often you find a place where the food, the people, and the politics are A1-but at Smack Dab they've got that down. As a first-timer I got a free sweet treat, Mariah was on the speakers, biscuits were seasoned just right, there was ample seating, and the portion sizes were surprisingly on point. You've got a regular in this chick.

We finally found it! An eatery with a big heart and strong values and we loved every second of our time there. We came on a Sunday morning and grabbed a table for two. The best part about Smack Dab is that you can order at the counter and take it to go or grab a seat--super flexible! We opted to grab a seat to eat our cinnamon sugar dougnut, coffee, golden chai, and two biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Every sip and every bite was delicious and fresh The decor was eclectic and homey - perfect for Sunday brunch. You have to visit! It's a must!

The service was great. Had the Louise from the drink menu and that was nice and vanilla-y. I also love their potatoes.

How do you handle cross contamination for customers that have celiac disease? Do you use different cooking space? Toasters?

Speaking of the bar, I got myself a pint of the Golden Road Mango Cart, which did have a fragrance of mangoes. I was a bit annoyed the bartender asked for my ID thinking I was a high schooler (I guess white people in Chicago generally don't have any meaningful relationship with Asians compared to other major cities because this wasn't a one time thing - and I've been to a lot of cities), but at least he tried to smooth it out with a joke. Fine, moving on. I got myself a personal deep dish pizza, since this joint is known for their caramelized crust, although I did wish I got myself a small instead so I can have it delivered in the pan itself. Maybe next time, but I did eat the whole thing. The sauce was more on the bitter and acidic side. The toppings aren't layered and hiding underneath cheese like some other places, which is fine, but I did think it could've used more mushrooms and a more even distribution of toppings considering how thick the bread is. Overall it was worth going out of my way to try it once, as it was highly recommended to me, I'd say it takes #2 so far of all the pizza places I've tried in Chicago. Granted, I didn't have time or didn't come with anyone to share a bunch of things, but maybe next time.

They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in.
