I was hoping this time was better. Your hostess is very friendly and nice. Our server unfortunately didn't understand us, we wanted drinks and an appetizer. I ordered a beer and my husband asked if he could try a beer before ordering or he'd get a whisky. The server said ya ya and brought us back two beers. My beer tasted funny. We ordered an appetizer of calamari again it's slightly undercooked. I do like all the tables. Our waiter kept asking if we wanted to order food but since the beers went wrong and the appetizer we decided to leave.

Was in town visiting Monterey, and something about being by the beach makes me crave clam chowder. Happened along this place and figured we try it out. After seating we waited a long while until I had to flag the waiter down. He was busy chatting at the bar with the other coworkers. I didn't think anything of it at the time because well, we are all human, so I figured I give him grace because sometimes we all get caught up in good conversations. The food did not take long to come out. It was decent tasting. $17 for the bread bowl clam chowder. But, the food delivery was the last time we ever saw our waiter! He never came to check on us, nor give us refills or to even acknowledge us. I had to walk up to the bar he was at (to politely interrupt his conversation with coworkers) in order to ask for the bill. When he brought it over he just handed it to me. No "thank you" or anything. I still left a tip but I got out of there thinking that whole interaction was pretty weird. You can get a cheaper clam chowder bread bowl and an actual smile and acknowledgment at the shop around the corner by the water. Wish I woulda seen that place sooner but didn't see it till I walked out of Sly's.

What a cool joint Sly McFly's is! If you a wine tour tasting low - key kinda person...this is not your jam. This is an interesting place and tons of fun as it seemed the age demographic was 21 to 81, not kidding. There was no food available but we had just ate and didn't care. Our server was fantastic, I think it was her fault we staggered to where we were staying! Is it clean...I mean it's clean-ish I guess. Did we give a toss? No, couldn't care less, a fun place where anything goes. .

Went here for a quick lunch and had a good experience overall. The atmosphere was great, the service was friendly and the food was good. The only item I wasn't a fan of was the nachos, it tasted sour. The server said it's the beer cheese, wasn't for me. If you've never had their beer cheese before, I'd suggest trying a sample first before ordering the full plate. Other than that, everything else was delicious. Looks like a fun place to come back in the evening too with live music, dancing, and drinks.

What a pleasant surprise this lowkey, nicely situated lunch spot was! We had a great table with a beautiful view. Kaitlyn C. Was an exceptional server providing great service that exceeded our expectations. Each meal was delicious and hit the spot.

Our server Caitlin (sp?) was great! She was very attentive and fun to talk to. Even though she was busy she checked in with us often. The speed of service/food was good. The fried pickles are really yummy. My BBQ brisket sandwich was delicious and my boyfriend thought the same of his fish and chips. I don't get all the negative reviews about the food, we thought it was really good!

Food was typical bar food nothing special. The Waitress was Great. The drinks were not very well crafted and the band sounded like a reject wedding singer band. Good spot if you want a quick beer before moving on to your dinner reservation.

Great Service, But the Flavor Has Faded We've been to this spot several times in the past, but unfortunately, our most recent visit left us pretty disappointed. It felt like the high standards we were used to have slipped, with both the food and drinks feeling like they were lacking that usual spark. The Food We both went for seafood options this time around, and the consensus was the same: The Fish Sandwich: While the portion size was fine, it tasted like it had no seasoning whatsoever. It was surprisingly bland for a place we usually enjoy. The Fish Tacos: My wife felt exactly the same way about her tacos. The freshness seemed okay, but the flavor profile was just non-existent. The Service The one saving grace of the experience was the team working the floor. The staff was very attentive throughout our meal--making sure our water was filled and checking in on us regularly. I definitely don't blame them for the experience; they did their jobs perfectly. The Verdict It's tough when a reliable go-to spot misses the mark. Between the unseasoned main courses and the lackluster drinks, I'm not sure I would be back anytime soon. When you're paying for a night out, you expect the kitchen to bring a bit more personality to the plate.

Cannery row fish sandwich

Staff was attentive and provided sufficient service this past Wednesday when we came by for lunch. Got the raspberry lemon drop, salty crew blonde ale, mac'n cheese bites, buffalo chicken wings with ranch, and cannery row fish sandwich. The lemon drop was yummy, a nice tangy flavor and the perfect sweetness. The fish sandwich and fries were decent too. The mac'n cheese bites were okay, a light batter but a sort of cheap taste to it. The wings were terrible, overcooked and dry with just a tiny bit of buffalo sauce glazed on top. Luckily, I was too hungry to not eat them, but wow they were the worst chicken wings I've ever had anywhere. I'd return for the drinks and the spacious environment with ample seating and live entertainment (they even had live music scheduled on New Year's Eve). But I recommend skipping the food here based on my recent experience.

Stopped in for a quick snack and drink after our visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was a good choice. We were afraid it may be too touristy, but it had a nice neighborhood pub vibe. Our waitress was great, and the food.... We just got apps and drinks. My girls got raspberry lemon drops, which they really enjoyed. I just got a well scotch on the rocks. It hit the spot. Back to the food. We just ordered apps, and they were all delicious. The garlic parm fries were extremely good. I got a photo of those, but the rest was gone too fast. The fries were crunchy with soft centers. They were perfectly seasoned and the garlic aioli dipping sauce was a great compliment. We also ordered fried calamari and pretzel bites. The calamari was crisp, tender and nicely seasoned. It had a nice lemon back flavor since they were fried with lemon slices. The pretzel bites were perfect little pillows or buttery pretzel with a nice mustard sauce. We left happy and ready for the walk back to the car.

We ended up here unexpectedly w/little expectation. Locations is great, right on Cannery Row, it appears more as a sports bar than restaurant but we took a chance. We ordered fish tacos & fish n chips - food came out very quickly, hot & fresh& really tasty. Service was great, prices reasonable. Give it a chance when you are on Cannery Row!

This place is fun we dance. It was let me start by. We went in there after lunch and had a great time. Met some great people. My boyfriend ended up knowing someone that was sitting at the bar they work together so that was cool. She was so excited to see him made her day the bartender was absolutely amazing. I forgot his name but it's a cute little spot so then after we went back after dinner and this is for my birthday and had a good time I danced at a live band. I don't know if they serve food or not but if you're there go check this place out

I mean it wasn't too difficult to find, but it was kind of weird they didn't have their own entrance into the restaurant but no big deal. I wanted to try both the cherry lime ricketey and the pink lemonade so the boyfriend got the ricketey and I got the lemonade. I'm so glad we did it that way because I found the cherry and lime drink too bitter and sour. I know that it's supposed to be sour, but it was just too much. Didn't love it as much as I hoped it would have. The pink lemonade was so good! I love the throwback to a childhood drink (with some alcohol of course). So good. Expect to pay a good 10 percent more than you would elsewhere in Monterey. After all, this is Cannery Row.

I'm editing this to clarify that I NEVER made threats against anyone and that you are only going based off of a surveillance video. I was simply talking on the phone w my friend about something that doesn't concern anyone in this place. Yes I called you a shitty ass owner because you didn't handle the situation very well and let your bouncer or whatever he is tell me to "get the fuck out" and you still doubled down and called me a "shitty ass customer" over a misunderstanding on your staffs part. And yes your bar smells like fucking shit every time I stepped foot in there. Fix the smell and the attitude and maybe you wouldn't have undercover cops in your place all the time from the type of crowd that YOU bring in. Maybe don't kick people out for minding their own business and treat them with disrespect when they try to explain the situation. Thanks I will enjoy the better local bars around For the last time I did not make threats at ANYONE nor did I harass anyone or make negative comments TOWARDS anyone. I don't know what this owners issue is and why he's not understanding that I was mistreated by his staff and told to "GET THE FUCK OUT" even tho I had not done anything wrong to anyone I was just ON THE PHONE WITH MY FRIEND. Since when was using profanity wrong in a bar? If you don't get my point stop replying your making your business look bad and I can keep replying all day. And yes I wanted to go back in because my friends were inside. Still a poorly run place my point stands "case closed".

One of the highlights of my birthday trip to Monterey!!!…read more My partner surprised me with a trip to Monterey to celebrate my birthday, and of course, we wanted to play tourists for the weekend lol! We were looking for something fun and different to do while exploring the area. Although the Monterey Bay Aquarium is just a short walk away, we had already visited before and wanted to switch things up. Since we're both fans of mini golf, we came across Tipsy Putt while searching for activities nearby, and OMGGG, I'm so happy we did!! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was already a 10/10! The atmosphere was super fun and laid back, and the playlist??? BANGERS!! Definitely the kind of music that puts you in a good mood right away. We headed over to the front bar area, where we were greeted by the sweetest employee! She was SOOO friendly, welcoming, and helpful. She explained how everything worked and gave us a chance to look over the drink menu. I ended up ordering a pineapple margarita, while my partner went with a strawberry margarita. Both were such fun drinks to enjoy while playing! While waiting for our drinks, we noticed they had a PHOTO BOOTH!! Obviously, we couldn't pass that up lol. We took some cute pictures together, and one detail I absolutely loved was the little area where visitors could leave behind one of their photo strips. Seeing everyone's memories displayed was honestly such a cute and thoughtful touch. Of course, we had to leave one of ours behind too! Once our drinks were ready, the employee handed us our golf balls and explained that the mini golf course was downstairs. Now, the golfing area itself isn't the biggest, but don't let that fool you because we had SOOO much fun!! The courses were actually pretty challenging, and there were definitely a few holes that had us struggling longer than we'd like to admit lol. But that honestly made it even more entertaining! Between the friendly competition, laughing at each other's attempts, and sipping on our margaritas, we were having the best time. They also had a boxing arcade machine, which we decided to try before wrapping up our visit. Such a fun little addition to an already great experience! What I loved most about Tipsy Putt was that it wasn't just another activity to cross off our list. It ended up being one of those spontaneous experiences that made our birthday getaway even more memorable. I'm already wanting to bring my family here so they can experience it too! The ONLY thing I regret is not trying their food while we were there, so that's definitely on my list for next time. Overall, such a fun spot for a date, a little friendly competition, or just something different to do while visiting Monterey. Between the fun atmosphere, great music, friendly service, drinks, and activities, Tipsy Putt was a HIT for us!! We'll absolutely be back!!

We were greeted by Lexi at the front desk, and WOW! She was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to be at work. You very seldom see this kind of customer service these days, and Lexi made an immediate impression on us! She wasted no time giving us the scoop on everything Tipsy Putt had to offer. We headed downstairs and played golf for about half an hour. Let's just say we worked up an appetite, especially after all the laughter over our golfing skills! When we were ready for food, Lexi was there again, happy to walk us through the menu and tell us about the many drinks they offer. I ordered a strawberry something-or-other that I wish I could have another one of RIGHT NOW! We all ordered drinks and were very impressed with the variety of options on the menu. Now, let's talk about the FOOD! After stuffing our faces with some of the BEST barbecue wings I've had in a long time, I have to say they were even better than Wingstop! ....And that's saying something! My buddies enjoyed tacos and pulled pork sandwiches, and we were all very happy with our choices. Lexi shared that the cooks really enjoy preparing the food, and I believe it! Everything came out tasting like it was cooked with LOVE. I'm already looking forward to going back, and it won't be long! Please tell Lexi we said HELLO, and that we'll be seeing her again soon. She helped make our visit extra special, and that kind of service deserves to be recognized. And as for those barbecue wings? They're CALLING MY NAME RIGHT NOW! Thanks, Tipsy Putt, for a wonderful time, great food, delicious drinks, lots of laughter, and an employee like Lexi who makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. See you soon! Angel

Had a very uncomfortable experience here…read more Two of my male friends had their IDs checked very quickly, primarily by verifying their dates of birth. When it was my turn, the employee subjected my ID to significantly more scrutiny. She rubbed the card, examined it closely, and even used a small table lamp to inspect it. She then asked me to state the address on my ID. I had recently moved and had just received a new ID, so I wasn't certain which address was printed on it. I explained that I had recently moved and had multiple addresses. She then told our group to leave. I understand that a bar has the right to thoroughly check IDs and refuse entry if they have concerns about an ID. My concern was the significant difference in how my ID was handled compared with my two male friends' IDs and how the situation was handled afterward. When we were leaving, the employee put her hands on my husband's shoulders and lightly pushed/shoved him toward the exit. I also felt that I was being physically moved out rather than simply being asked to leave. The entire interaction felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. I can't speak to the employee's intentions, but the difference in treatment was noticeable, and the physical contact while removing us from the establishment was particularly concerning. I hope management reviews what happened and ensures that customers are treated consistently and respectfully.

Before leaving SF, the restaurant called me a little after noon as I prepared to make the drive there informing me that a plumbing situation closed the restaurant for the day. The complication was that I invited a couple of local friends to join me for this dinner as they've never dined here. I obviously pivoted and we had dinner somewhere in the area that evening. During the same conversation, I asked whether they would be open on Friday before asking whether the Thursday entree would be available. He told me yes and changed my reservation to Friday for one as my guests were not available. Coming in for my 6 pm reservation, the bar area was half full and the dining room about 1/3rd. I was seated in a middle two seat table facing the bay. I asked about the special which my waitress confirmed was available. After my visit a year ago, I did not order any appetizer, knowing the portion is generous. Even without an appetizer, I could only finish half of my order. Wanting to finish my meal on a sweet note, I had the sorbet Vacherin (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=7CurpgMow13xMHHo9RTMrQ), mango sorbet and raspberry sorbet - I asked them to hold the baked meringue and chantilly cream listed on the menu to keep things lighter. Both were delicious and again the portions are generous. I could again only finish half. Luckily, my hotel room has a small refrigerator with a freezer section so I asked them to pack the rest in a small box which perfectly fit in that fridge. It was such an uncomfortable interaction. Not normal at all. He even said, "This is my NYE kiss!" SMDH. The guy sat down at a table that is across from us, and he kept looking at us. We quickly finished our drinks, and then we left to ring in the new year at our hotel lobby instead. We should have just hung out in our hotel lobby instead of going out; it was much better there.
