Rigatoni with shrimp, fresh tomatoes & capers.

We stayed at the Hotel Abrego and only realized they had a small restaurant after we had checked in. The menu looked really inviting so we decided to eat dinner at the bistro. We had 3 items: tacos, pasta with shrimp and their seasonal salad. Everything was freshly made and absolutely delicious. We asked the customer next to us if he had ever eaten there before & he said, "every night!" He apparently worked week days in Monterey & that's the place he liked to frequent. The dining was a pleasant surprise. The prices were less than what we would typically pay for lunch. Even if we weren't staying at the hotel, we would still choose the restaurant. The first time in my life actually loving hotel food! I think the reason it's not packed is that there's little on line about this place.

I was shocked! We saw this place on yelp and walked in. It is inside a hotel but the food is soooo good!! Chicken skewers and ribs were so tender and tasty. The bruschetta was amazing. Ernie our server was so welcoming and the food is delicious. It's like having dinner at a friends house. You have to try this place!!!

    Chef's Special : Bread Pudding a la Mode w/ caramel sauce...sooooooo good

Long drive from San Diego so we didn't feel like going out for dinner...so glad we didn't. Decided to eat at the Bistro and we were not disappointed. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi and he ordered the Bacon and Brussel Sprout Flat Bread. Not what we were expecting- i thought it was a pasta dish but it came witj toasted sour dough bread and the sauce was so delicious that I could have drank it right out if the plate. The flat bread came in a different presentation but absolutely delicious! Then came the dessert...the bread pudding...what a wonderful way to end the meal! Didn't take pics of the food because we were hungry and we went to town as soon as it was served. Hat's off to the chef in that magic kitchen and Karen the Server/Barista/Awesome lady was great even with a full house.

We just has a pretty yummy dinner included with a deal for the hotel. It's a smaller restaurant but cozy so you can chat with loved ones. The service was good and he checked on us just the right amount of times. Even the Manager stopped by just to make sure we were happy. The appetizer we chose was the shrimp quesadilla. Super delish and the salsa paired perfectly to balance the roasted red peppers and caramelized onions. I got the garlic chicken pizza. Thin crust and a great amount of cheese made it super yummy. Try the Monterey Wheat beer they have on the menu.

Each dish was so creative and delicious that every bite tempted us to try a new dish. Our server was Maddie and she was incredibly thoughtful and welcoming in her service. She gave great recommendations which were much appreciated as we kept order more dishes! We ended up trying the salmon crudo, beef tartare, pork chop, bread, and duck. Everything was fantastic in its own right but the stars of the show were the salmon and the pork chop. The entire staff was incredibly attentive and everyone truly left us with the feeling that our experience was their priority. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, the cutlery and dishware were absolutely adorable. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and food, the passion behind their work shown through in every step of service. They even brought out a card signed by the staff to wish my partner a happy birthday. Thank you Cella team and especially Maddie for making our dinner a unforgettable night, we will be sure to be back.

The staff were easy to work with in setting up the event and more than accommodating with the several dietary restrictions that we brought up given the size of the party that would be stopping by (roughly 80 or so). They had a wide variety of pastries, meats, and other desserts that's were all absolutely spectacular. And bother internal and external of the venue are absolutely beautiful. We had a nice sunny morning so most of our party were sitting outside in the wonderful patio space and everyone was raving about how good the food was.

I had the rice bowl with tempura tofu and it was amazing. The sauce was perfect and the vegetables were flavorful and it was a great vegetarian option. Our friend had jambalaya and loved it, and my oldest had a burger and fries which was perfect, good size and great quality. They have a really fun (and delicious) dessert with chocolate dipped ice cream scoops with toppings on the side that are served with a dry ice effect that everyone loved. The restaurant has a family friendly feel and great service with some fun drink options as well. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.

After a long day of searching for a place that would work for our little crew, Sur felt like exactly where we were meant to end up. We left happy, full, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend.

The balance of flavors and presentation is equivalent to a Michelin Star restaurant (surprised it has not received one yet). I recommend trying the tasting menu because that's where you'll experience the craftsmanship and creativity of Chef Michale Rotondo, and award winning chef with experiences in Michelin Stars restaurants. Wine paring is also spectacular. You'll get to sample wines from various regions around the world. The ambiance is romantic overlooking the bay from the dining area. The restaurant provides binoculars at each table for closeup views of wildlife on the Bay in between courses. Lastly and most importantly, Coastal Kitchen utilize seasonal local ingredients for a fresh and truly local taste. Kudos to Sarah for sharing her knowledge of wines and everything local.

The food is great, though portions were smaller than expected given the cost, and some dishes weren't necessarily as memorable as I'd hope. It's possible that had something to do with dietary restrictions (the kitchen is incredibly accommodating).Everything was wonderful on the plate, but sometimes I wanted more of it (the pork was notably thin, for example, and the cod was a two-bite piece). Some nice touches: binoculars by the table, incredible service, a beautiful room. Improvements: bathrooms shared with a hotel lobby is always strange. I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or two, Michelin upgrades the restaurant, and it's on the right trajectory for more acclaim.
