Sly Mcflys is a fun restaurant and bar! The bartenders are so personable and accommodating, shout out Martin, Nick & Anthony! During my time here, I was welcomed by a gorgeous and sweet host- Jennifer! I enjoyed a lovely drink called the white linen which was well balanced, not too sweet and very refreshing. My server McKayla was very attentive and helpful when informing me of the different entrees available such as the fresh caught halibut n chips. Food came out timely and hot. They may have the best clam chowder in town btw!! What a treat! Thank you all for providing a great experience during my visit to Monterey :)

Food was typical bar food nothing special. The Waitress was Great. The drinks were not very well crafted and the band sounded like a reject wedding singer band. Good spot if you want a quick beer before moving on to your dinner reservation.

Great Service, But the Flavor Has Faded We've been to this spot several times in the past, but unfortunately, our most recent visit left us pretty disappointed. It felt like the high standards we were used to have slipped, with both the food and drinks feeling like they were lacking that usual spark. The Food We both went for seafood options this time around, and the consensus was the same: The Fish Sandwich: While the portion size was fine, it tasted like it had no seasoning whatsoever. It was surprisingly bland for a place we usually enjoy. The Fish Tacos: My wife felt exactly the same way about her tacos. The freshness seemed okay, but the flavor profile was just non-existent. The Service The one saving grace of the experience was the team working the floor. The staff was very attentive throughout our meal--making sure our water was filled and checking in on us regularly. I definitely don't blame them for the experience; they did their jobs perfectly. The Verdict It's tough when a reliable go-to spot misses the mark. Between the unseasoned main courses and the lackluster drinks, I'm not sure I would be back anytime soon. When you're paying for a night out, you expect the kitchen to bring a bit more personality to the plate.

We ended up here unexpectedly w/little expectation. Locations is great, right on Cannery Row, it appears more as a sports bar than restaurant but we took a chance. We ordered fish tacos & fish n chips - food came out very quickly, hot & fresh& really tasty. Service was great, prices reasonable. Give it a chance when you are on Cannery Row!

Staff was attentive and provided sufficient service this past Wednesday when we came by for lunch. Got the raspberry lemon drop, salty crew blonde ale, mac'n cheese bites, buffalo chicken wings with ranch, and cannery row fish sandwich. The lemon drop was yummy, a nice tangy flavor and the perfect sweetness. The fish sandwich and fries were decent too. The mac'n cheese bites were okay, a light batter but a sort of cheap taste to it. The wings were terrible, overcooked and dry with just a tiny bit of buffalo sauce glazed on top. Luckily, I was too hungry to not eat them, but wow they were the worst chicken wings I've ever had anywhere. I'd return for the drinks and the spacious environment with ample seating and live entertainment (they even had live music scheduled on New Year's Eve). But I recommend skipping the food here based on my recent experience.

Kids Chicken strips and fries

Service was great, and the food came out pretty quick. The food was not the best but it's your typical bar food you can't expect much. That's where we went wrong. This is not a place where you want to grab some lunch or dinner from and I should have read the reviews before hand. The place overall was sort of clean, however there's only a few servers on site so think reasonably when it comes to cleanliness. The chicken tacos were too watery so they fell apart and the chicken strips were dry and the fries were not the best. My mom got the burger and said it's your typical burger. I'm assuming it wasn't horrible

Came here after visiting the aquarium as it looked to have a few tables open and plenty of room for our group. Unfortunately our chicken club came out very much undercooked. Of course these things happen, the manager was very apologetic and offered to take care of our appetizers, drinks, and a large portion of the bill. Regardless, this is still very disappointing.

Good live music, just loud af on that side of the bar so don't expect to have a normal conversation. Also somehow out of blondes and out of kölsch which feels like a miss, but the substitutes for the beers we wanted were actually solid so not a total loss. But okay holy fuck the chowder. Chowder of the gods. Insane garlic and herb flavor, fresh ass bread bowl, just unreal. Completely carried the whole experience. Would go back just for that alone.

This place is fun we dance. It was let me start by. We went in there after lunch and had a great time. Met some great people. My boyfriend ended up knowing someone that was sitting at the bar they work together so that was cool. She was so excited to see him made her day the bartender was absolutely amazing. I forgot his name but it's a cute little spot so then after we went back after dinner and this is for my birthday and had a good time I danced at a live band. I don't know if they serve food or not but if you're there go check this place out

Menu

Solid spot but my one complaint is transparency on the menu pricing lol. My husband and I both got the lobster roll, which obviously lobster is not cheap by any means. On the menu pictured, it says typical market price is $27-$36 per roll, which is totally valid and matches what we've paid for in Boston and other places in CA for lobster rolls. When the bill comes, imagine our surprise when it's $96 lol. Subtracting the sales tax, that's about $44 per lobster roll, which is $8 more than the maximum price listed on the menu. If they had listed an updated pricing range instead of just leaving it as a "surprise" for the end of the meal, it would have been fine. But this is a popular restaurant in a busy part of Cannery Row, update the menus with a more accurate range maybe? The lobster roll was great, my husband and I both enjoyed them, but it would be nice to know what to expect price wise.

I mean it wasn't too difficult to find, but it was kind of weird they didn't have their own entrance into the restaurant but no big deal. I wanted to try both the cherry lime ricketey and the pink lemonade so the boyfriend got the ricketey and I got the lemonade. I'm so glad we did it that way because I found the cherry and lime drink too bitter and sour. I know that it's supposed to be sour, but it was just too much. Didn't love it as much as I hoped it would have. The pink lemonade was so good! I love the throwback to a childhood drink (with some alcohol of course). So good. Protip: give it a chance and definitely come here for a drink!

Best one was by far the Lagavulin 16 year (glass on the right), as it has a rich peaty flavor to it. They even allowed my dog to sit inside with me, although we were limited to the counters at the front of the lounge. Nonetheless, the staff were very accommodating to my pup and I, even bringing him water. This is a fantastic place to visit if you're a whiskey connoisseur, or just want a good cocktail. Cheers!

The vibes are here but it all stops there…read more.. Let me start by saying that I love this place. Just needs a bit of cleaning up on their transparency. The 'keep it open' policy is something I appreciate but would also appreciate an itemized receipt when you close out. Here's why to keep your eye out when drinking at this establishment. 1- when you close out, it's helpful to verify what you consumed to ensure you're corrected charged. My receipt was the merchant copy and the customer copy. Itemized? Really had to ask for it. 2- the merchant copy - it asked for a tip and the total amount. When we closed out our beer and well drink, it was ~$28. Weird, right? So my thought was that they clearly charged something incorrect. 3- when there's something automatically charged, it had better be communicated to me upfront. The gratuity was automatically added and IT WAS 20%! No sign, no way to notify me that it was already added. It didn't even say so on the merchant or customer copy. On top of that, the copy asked for AN ADDITIONAL TIP. For something like that, I had better get great service. 4- The service here is spotty at best. There's usually one bartender for the often busy bar. Not a problem, usually. But with that high of a price, better serve your customers well and have a fully stocked bar. 5 - the options were lacking. Two things you'd think would be stocked but weren't - espresso (come on, even Kahlua) and apple liqueur for an espresso martini and appletini were too much to ask for, I guess. Overall, a disappointment. Good thing they have the vibes nearly right. But awful business practices.

The restaurant itself is relatively upscale for a hotel but has a warm vibe. The Belgian waffle is a must- it's decadent, the berries are fresh and the whipped cream is cloud-like and sweet. The American breakfast was hearty and filling. The bacon was perfectly chewy, salty and cooked. The Yukon potatoes were crispy and had a good level of spice. The eggs were super fluffy as well. Let's start with the wins: the service was genuinely excellent -- attentive, warm, professional. The Old Fashioned was well-crafted, and major props to the bar program for stocking Nochino. That's a detail that signals someone behind the bar actually cares. The food, though? It missed. The fish was overcooked and the presentation felt like an afterthought. For a restaurant at this price point and in this setting, I expected more -- both on the plate and on the plate. You can forgive a lot in a restaurant when everything else sings. We started with truffle fries and a Caesar salad. My partner rated the Caesar salad and the fries assault eight out of 10 on both both very flavorful dressing was fantastic on the salad lettuce was very cold. Good sign of freshness. Moving onto our entrées he had the seafood pasta and I had the cioppino pot. Both very hearty in their portions. It was extremely flavorful, definitely one of the best cioppino I've had. My partner thought his seafood pasta was cooked perfectly also had plenty of protein to satisfy him. Only room for improvement was that it seemed our server got pretty busy with some other tables getting all set at once. Along with the fact that they had forgotten to bring me a spoon for my soup and it took a minute to wave someone down.
