I have been on a quest of trying all the hidden gem cafes around my neighborhood, and I may have just hit the jackpot with this beautiful space. As soon as you walk in to Slimak, the wood floors and sun filled space welcomes you with a warm embrace. There is so much space to set up and sit with your laptop if you wanted to. The baristas and staff are all so friendly. I ordered myself the matcha latte and avocado toast and perched myself up on the bar seating. The iced matcha latte was A-ok, maybe a better job can be done frothing it as it was settling on the bottom in small grains. The avocado toast was delicious with pistachio pesto, fresh tomatoes and a delicious runny egg on top. I do wish there was more avocado on the toast, and that the bread was a bit thicker and more substantial. Other than these slight improvements I found the place cute and charming and will definitely be back to try their other menu items or baked goods. Great little neighborhood cafe!!

Slimak offers many breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. They also have specials during the weekend. Coffee and pastries are quick, easy, and tasty. Order by the bar and grab a seat in their cozy seating areas at the front and in the back. There are a couple of seats by the bar as well.

Cute and cozy breakfast place in Your favorite neighborhood Sunset park! :) Spacious inside space! They are very sweet people and they offer many things. You can find your favorite meals in the restaurant. Must try their fresh orange juice.

Spending time in Industry City today and decided to eat outside of IC food hall. I've passed Slimsk numerous times on s bus and bookmarked it. I was in the mood for comfort food on a rainy day and planned to visit IC to do some shopping. Slimak*is on off the beaten path, next to the beautiful Saint Nicholas Church which I can imagine it being busy on a Sunday morning. When I entered, it was quiet with a few patrons dining and tapping away on their laptops. There is instructions to step up to the counter, order and then find a seat. I knew what I wanted: egg white omelet with cheddar and spinach, salad instead of toast and home fries and a cup of coffee. I served myself complimentary water from the jug and found a table. Once seated, I sipped my water and made an IC shopping list .My order arrived within ten minutes, just the omelet. The waitress apologized that their coffee machine was broken and asked if an Americano was okay to make instead. Absolutely! My omelet looked delicious but the only thing missing was the home fries. I guess the way I ordered was lost in translation ( at first they asked me to repeat it since they thought I said waffles vs no toast). Healthy Fawn voice said " it's better without home fries " and won over cheating Fawn voice ( tell them the home fries are missing!). The salad had zucchini ( yum), tomatoes, carrots and lettuce with a side of delicious balsamic vinegar. The omelet was absolutely scrumptious and fresh. Slimak offers numerous options: breakfast all day, soups, salads and desserts. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Nice healthy neighborhood joint. Very relaxing and down to earth. Stopped in for soup as they had a few choices. The chicken poblano soup was delicious. Would prefer the bowl size to be a little bigger but it was big on taste! Order at register and they bring it to you. Will definitely visit again.

Cute breakfast place!! Very friendly and patient staff. The blue latte was so yummy and sweet - I really enjoyed. We only came in for a snack but the rest of the menu and the food coming out looked so good. We'll be back to try other options on the menu.

Slimak is the place to go for a five star brunch. It doesn't get any better than this. I tried the Sautéed Kale with Avocado and 2 Poached Eggs last week. It came with a seven grain toast; it was really really fresh & delicious. Better than the recent brunches I've had in Manhattan & a lot less expensive too. Traveling around Brooklyn, I've been highly impressed by the diversity & quality of the food. I think you can find great restaurants in many neighborhoods but when it comes to value, I'm discovering that areas like Sunset Park in Brooklyn, Harlem in Manhattan, and Flushing & Jackson Heights Queens are where I'm going to more & more. Blame inflation, boredom, post pandemic cabin fever or the moon but I'm happy to travel for a great affordable meal.

This place is a great find! A super chill and lovely cafe nestled between bodegas and 99cent stores on an otherwise grim stretch of 4th ave. The menu is nicely varied. I had a custom omelette that was yummy! My coworker/friend had a sandwich that he said was filling and delicious! It's a perfect place to meet friends and chat. The service is friendly and fast. Patrons reflect the changing tides (ie gentrification). read more

Food was average, and the lady taking my order couldn't have acted any more annoyed by the fact that I asked what nuts were in the carrot cake. And to top it off, she had no idea. Evidently they don't make their pastries in house. Dude serving drinks was friendly though. I'd say that was the only real plus. read more

Absolutely scrumptious ! I live in south Bayridge and stumbled upon this place when ordering food. Every dish was delicious and the coffee (iced latte), was finally not burnt! Every place around here tends to burn their beans and not know how to make a solid cup of Joe but this place made a delicious latte. Will definitely be ordering from here or going in person, for sure! read more

I walk across Historic Green-Wood Cemetery to eat here on the weekends. The pastries are huge and beautiful, and the food is all top notch. Especially recommend the eggs Benedict and the dirty chai. If I lived in the Sunset, I'd be here every day. read more

The cold brew was one of the best I have had. We snacked on some scones and croissant which were yummy. Also they gave us a free sample of a pulled pork sandwich that was delicious the meat had the right amount of seasoning and a slight kick to it, really enjoyed it. They get their coffee from a roaster in Williamsburg which I really enjoyed. Will be back for brunch for sure! To top it off the service here was great and very welcoming. They will do great! read more

Great cosy atmosphere and delicious food! I have really enjoyed my creamy scrambled eggs with salmon. I also had a cappuccino which was served in a cute red cup (worth sharing on Instagram). Don't forget to check out their fresh desserts, I went with coconut lime dessert and it was worth every calorie. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in Brooklyn! read more

Delicious breakfast and coffee. We go to Slimak every time we get a change to be in that area. Sunday we went and they were really busy but still managed to give us our food within 25min. We highly recommend. We are never disappointed. read more

I had such hopes for this place. It's a beautiful cafe well done interior very homie. However, the food was not great. The omlete I ordered was tasteless and rubbery. The homefries were not hot and they were chewy. The toast was over toasted and not buttered no jam provided. The worst was their watered down orange juice?! Plus, you had to order it all at the counter and I paid 21 bucks for this meal. :( The desserts looked amazing but I'll have to see what it taste like later since I ordered it to go. It's not promising. read more

As someone who gives a hoot about the environment, I was very specific when I asked the lady at the register for NO PLASTIC, yet she made my drink in a plastic cup with a lid and straw, and then poured it into a glass cup when she realized what I had said earlier. This place is trying way too hard. The decor is untasteful and cheap with pictures of farm animals or something like that when their meat, eggs, and milk come from factory farms- therefore they are misleading their customers. The music was absolutely terrible and made me feel uncomfortable. Bad vibe- I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Try Sun House Cafe on 6th avenue across from sunset park. Much more authentic. read more

This place is a hidden gem in the neighbor. I'm very glad I decided to try this place. Living here for two years and I just find this place, thanks to yelp ! The food here are delicious, waitress are very friendly , I love the music here , very relaxing , I felt like I'm living in the 18 century. I love it. Food ( a creamy lime coconut bar) and coffee were good. No soy milk for a latte so I had an Americano. However, the atmosphere was really weird. There were tons of people in the cafe waiting to be interviewed for medical jobs with a small staff of people doing the interviewing. They were calling out names of people who were just sitting around waiting for their turn. A little disconcerting when all I wanted was a cup of coffee and a pastry. read more

Slimak! What a delightful place. Lovely ambience, artfully designed with the most delectable of dishes. I had the creamy scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, and my boyfriend had his steak and eggs accompanied by toasted biscuits and olive butter. We couldn't leave without trying the peach pie, which did not disappoint. Highly recommended. I can't wait to return to explore some of the other exciting dishes on the menu. A true gem in Sunset Park. read more

Great experience at Slimak! They were very accommodating for a large party without any notice. We were seated as quickly as they could make room. This was a lot quicker than I thought it would be, especially since the place was packed. Everyone in our party was happy with what they ordered. Everything tasted great! We had a very unpleasant experience here. My partner ordered fresh orange juice (later we realized it was $6!!) and it tasted Like water with some orange flavor. We went to the counter and explained politely with a smile that we don't like it and would like something else instead. One of the staff women skeptically answered with a sarcastic tone "so what you're saying is that I should call whoever provides the oranges and complain to THEM?". We weren't even angry about the mishap. Only asked to have something that we could drink... I don't think we deserve this attitude after they are the ones that served us bad orange juice. read more

What a total surprise! I ordered for delivery, and the food was both packaged incredibly well and was DELICIOUS. Extra claps for the sophia toast and the chicken sausage hash. Club sandwich was a little on the salty side, but I guess that's subjective. Really interesting menu-- can't wait to try more. read more

Always better to go during the weekends. Weekdays the menu is limited and its really empty inside. The avocado toast and the home fries are a must! Orange juice is freshly made. Im always stuck in between that or a cappuccino :(. So i order both and gamble on my stomach.. read more

Also, right now if you order coffee they are also providing very generous samples of another coffee. I had ordered Forza (and included a note in my order that I was interested in sampling Crema). They gave me a great amount of both coffees. At the moment, I have Forza open (description on the bag: "Full-bodied and strong, with hints of dark chocolate, hazelnuts and caramel"). I haven't yet tried the Crema (looking forward o trying it), but Forza is delicious! My only problem lately is limiting myself from having too many cups - I'm sure I will soon be tempted to make coffee late at night (I know they sell decaf options too, so will have to get that next time as well!). Loving this place and their roasts - I highly recommend you giving them some business, they deserve it!

Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I try and make a point to grab a cup here. And while I've only been here a couple of times, the staff has been polite, and the coffee has been consistent - the latter being an issue for many shops. Baked doesn't try to be too cool or anything other than what it is. It's an unpretentious bake shop that offers a perfectly chilled cold brew that deserves to be savored with each sip and doesn't break the bank. It's worth making the trip even and I'll be doing so, even if I'm not exactly in the neighborhood.

I would never have guessed that the cake was caramel soaked because it wasn't awfully sweet. Similarly, I had no clue the ganache was also caramel chocolate. Overall, it was a phenomenal slice which made me look up the bakery. Based on their website, they specialize in cakes and brownies. They have about 30 different cake options ranging from citrus passionfruit cake to caramel apple cake. Too bad there are more horrific bad service reviews than I would like to trust to order a cake from here for a big day. But hasn't scared me off from coming in person to try a few of these slices.

They have a small tasting room with bar seats, a few tables and two couches. Most cocktails were $15 each and very delicious/fresh! I tried two different ones and liked them both! I watched them freshly strain the raspberries to make the raspberry syrup that went into one of the drinks. Overall, the service was excellent and the cocktails were top notch! They focus on Gin but the previous owners made whiskey and left the barrels for the new owner so they are selling whatever whiskey they have and once it's sold out it's out! What an amazing and pleasant addition to Sunset Park! The owners really make you feel welcome and at home. Their menu is full of so many delicious choices. All their ingredients are fresh and the care they put into their menu shows. The chicken wrap is delicious! They also have many pastry choices if you just want something quick. And the coffee?? Amazing! I don't think Sunset Park will get a Starbucks anytime soon and, well...we don't need it with Slimak! Lastly, the decor is beautiful and you feel very relaxed while you're there. Great job Slimak! All the best and hopefully you will make Sunset Park your home for a long time to come! read more

Very beautiful place! The food was great and affordable. I love the salmon & apple sausage. I saw it on their photos and decided to order one. Wow! I haven't tried as flavorful as that. My girlfriend loves the plants on the wall. It made them more unique from others. read more
