This place is the pleasantest of surprises. (I'm sure that's a word.) The name sounds like your run of the mill coffee shop or bodega, when in reality it's a clean, welcoming spot staffed by nice folks, serving surprisingly delicious food. I have a couple friends that live right next door, so I have happily tried a number of things. Their egg sandwiches are excellent, the Italian combo sandwich is great (although the meat could be sliced a bit thinner), and I hear the burgers are awesome. I'll try those soon enough. Most notably: They have the absolute best kind of fries. They are around the thickness of a pencil, with that textured crust that is always crisp, and so well-seasoned. My ideal fries. Really, Bond St. is just a win of a coffeeshop/restaurant to have if you live in the buildings right here, or if you come visit folks who do. Let's sing it: Two All Beef Patties, Special Sauce, Lettuce, Cheese, Mustard, all on a sesame seed bun Messed you up didn't I? We're in Brooklyn, not Jersey! Who in the heck puts mustard on a burger?! Regardless of the multiple condiments, it works. The Lucali Burger is a spin on the typical backyard burger but it's really worthy to take on Josh Capon with his champion winning burgers. (Which I had, his burger is insane) The Lucali burger is juicy burger. That first bite puts you in a carnivorous coma. They got the blend right and that homemade sesame seed bun is terrific. Eating this burger was a challenge. I walk in and order lunch. I forgot that NYC is a step behind Long Island. You walk in, order and GTFO. No loitering, no sitting, no touching, nada. My burger comes out, I thank the cashier and sit outside in the freezing cold. I guess that's the price to pay, you want the best? Deal with the cold or wait until spring. I started with an Iced Coffee, which was way too bitter. Probably better to skip iced coffee here. I was with two friends and we all ordered different sandwiches (CBG, Honey Eggplant and Chicken Milanese) and we were all very pleased with our food. The sandwiches were really delicious! Mine was the Honey Eggplant and the eggplant was cooked really well!! Sometimes eggplant sandwiches can be underwhelming, but they nailed it here! There were many unique sandwich options. I will say it was a little over priced for the portion, which is the reason for 4 stars, but it was really good and I would recommend! And I'd go back with some gals for another hangout! Pretty disappointing experience all around. I ordered breakfast tacos sans bacon and an avocado wrap. I also saw a sign saying "follow us on social media and get a free latte", but when I asked about it, the cashier said they didn't know how to apply the free latte... which made me wonder why they had the sign up to begin with. After placing my order, I waited for it to be ready.... after about 15 min, a server said someone else took my food so they were going to remake it (he said he called my name, but neither the person I was with nor I heard him say my name). The first attempt at remaking it involved bacon on the breakfast tacos, so they had to remake it again... Another 15 min later and we finally got our food. If the food had been worth it, I would have more ok with the delay. But they were the sloppiest and blandest breakfast tacos - the taco shells were essentially disintegrating before even touching them. The wrap was also totally uninspired and boring (it was literally just avocado and scrambled egg wrapped up and warmed). The staff was kind, hence two stars.... but I would not recommend this spot. read more

Anyway, 25 minutes and $13 later I got my cup of chili but when I eventually opened the bag I found just a fork and knife to use lol I come here a fair amount because it's the only place like it for several blocks in all directions and obviously they know it. I went here the other day for lunch and was not disappointed. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I got an iced coffee (I drink them all year round) and really liked it. For food, we got one of their massive cinnamon rolls with yummy icing (warm it up, it makes it perfect). Also got the heirloom tomato toast with burrata and balsamic on realllllly good ciabatta bread. And I got the honey eggplant sandwich with burrata, which had just the perfect honey flavor that wasn't too overpowering. Make a stop here or order delivery from here for sure! read more

Love this place. I live pretty close by and only discovered it today. I got an amazing tomato soup and some of the best French fries I've ever had. Couldn't deny myself a Cinnabon bun which they heat up for you. It was so good. My friends and I stared at the menu for a long time because everything looked so great, it was hard to choose. Unfortunately, the service was very poor-- the cashier and cook laughed and mocked me when I asked if they had ranch for the fries.
