This Slim Chicken just opened today in Westfield, where there is an abundance of fast food chicken places that entice Grand Park visitors. There was an abundance of new friendly staff on hand for the grand opening. They were working through a few issues with the heat system and the manager apologized and checked on us a couple times. I was glad to see a salad option. The Southern Fried Chicken salad is ok, but not very imaginative. There is an abundance of romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, carrots, a few cukes, fried onions, a pepper and processed croutons. The chicken can be broiled or fried. Choice of dressing included a couple vinaigrettes which I found overly sweet. The Crispy Fried Chicken sandwich is very good, moist and tasty. The brioche bun is great. The music is a little loud and twangy. The dinning room is otherwise comfortable. There are a number of TVs playing football games. There is patio seating as well, with more TVs. There is a drive thru and an app for ordering ahead. Food is prepared fresh so there is about a 5 minute wait. There is self serve on Coke products in the dining room. There is a kids menu, but I didn't see any kid entertainment. So bottom line, great 5 star service, 3 star salad, 4+ star on sandwich.

Another score for the Slims! Cayenne Ranch Chicken Sandwich again goes right to the top for my all-time favorite farm bird sandwich, I do not understand it either! How does an under ten buck cluck handheld clutch the dub over all others ice sampled? Maybe the easy app order and inside experience, fun atmosphere, great outside patio, and friendly staff does it. But I'm guessing the massive slab of juicy chicken shaken in any delightful option of sauces takes the cake, rich and thick smothered in gooey spicy ranch, the brioche bun holds it together for half the meal. I'm hoping to see gluten free options very soon here. They need dairy free, coconut or soy shakes too because the strawberry shake goes wild every time. I sacrifice my digestive systems frequently for Slims and no regrets.

Super friendly staff. We chatted with the hostess for a bit about the other Family of Grindstone restaurants. We started with the short rib poutine. We had it last year and frequently joke we need more than 1. The meat is so tender and there is a good amount of it on the dish. The app has plenty to share for the three of us adults. I also love the added touch of the scallions. For our meals, I had the Jambalaya pasta which was a large serving with plenty of meat, my husband had the tenderloin sandwich (which was massive and the best he said he has ever had on all of his trips to Indy) and our friend had the piggy melt grilled cheese (Mac and cheese and pulled pork!) That sandwich had incredible flavor and I said I'm getting that next time. We ended the meal with bread pudding bites as the photos on here looked delicious and the waitress recommended them. They certainly did not disappoint. The restaurant has a bit of a nicer vibe and there are certainly some people that were there dressed better than us, but it is not a stuffy atmosphere. Delicious food for very reasonable prices. Good beer selection as well.

Beautiful space. Warm feel. Exactly what the evening called for. Our server Jill M was the real story. She greeted us warmly, asked if we had questions about the menu, and when we mentioned my wife has Celiac Disease, she didn't flinch. She walked us through every option carefully and honestly. That kind of attentiveness is rare, and it mattered. Here's the honest part: the kitchen uses a shared fryer, which limits options significantly for anyone with gluten sensitivity or food allergies. My wife made it work, but the choices were thin. For a restaurant at this level, I'd love to see that change. Food allergies aren't going away, and guests who want to celebrate special occasions deserve more than a gluten-free bun as their only path forward. The food was genuinely delicious. Drinks never ran dry. Jill was never far. We all left saying it was a great meal. Four stars, and I mean it. Jill earns five on her own. I'd go back without hesitation. I'd just hope the kitchen catches up to what the front of house already delivers.

So, I decided to take my dear son to Gringtinos to eat some empanadas, because this Latin-ish restaurant has several different varieties on the menu. We sat down, looked at the menu, and my son wanted a cheeseburger, instead. Oh, kids! You gotta love them, right? (Right?) Luckily, Gringtinos has a kids menu that includes a cheeseburger, as well as a quesadilla and boneless wings. My son said that the cheeseburger was the best that he's had in a long time, so there you go. If you want a great kids' cheeseburger, visit Gringtinos. I was there for empanadas, so I got us a few: barbacoa, chicken, ground filet and street corn. We loved all of them, but the ground filet was probably our favorite (it was basically ground beef). We also ordered the yucca fries, which are served with white queso. They were like regular potato fries, but more earthy and dense. One order can feed two or three people -- they're very filling, with an interesting texture. I'm glad I ordered them. The service was OK, but we had to ask for plates, even though the server saw us dripping empanada juice all over our napkins. (It's like, hello! Yes, plates would be good. Bring us plates.) I'm also not a fan of servers not writing down my order, and instead, trying to memorize everything I say. I'm not impressed! It makes me stressed! Please, for the love of everything that's holy, just write down my order. It's truly OK to write things down. I promise. The construction around Gringtinos is murder, but don't fret. There is parking in the back, off of a gravel road. Once you park, enter through the back and you're good to go.

They only had 2 employees taking orders for the entire place so the wait is long. We ordered some cider, slushies, chicken fingers, pretzel, and a wrap. The food took a little bit to come out and was pretty good. I found it a bit expensive for what it was. They have non alcoholic slushies which is perfect for littles. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is essentially full sun, as they have umbrellas but they are in awkward spots and don't really cover any of the seating. They have a grass area where kids can run around, but they did have two fire pits that are by the entryway so you have to be super careful if you have small kids.

We sat on the second floor, we didn't know it had stairs or we would have asked for a first floor , a few of the group are not great on stairs, but as a team we made it work. Plus note is that there is a bathroom on the second floor. Speaking of the bathroom it did feel very much like a airplane bathroom, a litte Claustrophobic. The early bird dinner is the way to go, three course for a great price. We started by getting the deviled eggs and the mushroom soup. Both were amazing, the soup was so creamy and the eggs had just the right amount of firmness. I had fried chicken which was the best I have had in the Indy area. My husband had stroganoff and he felt like it was made by someone's granny. I also tasted the pork belly, and it was out of this work good. Desert was simple individual cheesecake with sauce, nice small size. We will be back and will try the rest of the menu.
