I watched tonight as the restaurant kicked out homeless people that had an order that they were waiting on all because they looked and were homeless. Their order was paid for but they were kicked out and discriminated against based off of looks alone. To add insult to injury they even called the police on these individuals for doing no wrong. The real crime was discrimination brought on by the business. the businesses discrimination is an act to retaliate against individuals they didn't want to serve who did no wrong. I witnessed another customer follow them out of there with the police to ensure protection of the individuals that had just been swatted for no reason by this business. read more

I love Slim Chickens! When people ask me how it is around town, I tell them that it is better than Chick-fil-A and Zaxby's. I love the perplexed looks that I get when I say that, but it's true! Don't get me wrong, I like the other two, but Slim Chickens is different. They have more variety, their desserts are tasty and I love all the different sauce selections. The chicken is where Slim Chickens shines above the rest. It's very lightly battered, not greasy and the meat is very tender for it to be fast food service. My favorite choices are the grilled chicken wrap and the salad - both delicious and both large portions. I typically can not eat the other half of the wrap when paired with their yummy potato salad. Huge letdown. Tenders are very bland and barely have any flaky fried crust. Honey mustard and ranch sauces taste like they came out of a Kraft bottle. Fries and mac & cheese okay. Texas toast had seemingly no butter on it, just was slightly toasted plain bread. I'd give the wings 3/5 and the tenders 1/5, so averaging this one to two stars. The atmosphere is very relaxed with a beautiful outside patio to enjoy the weather. The managers and staff were very friendly and attentive, hopefully after the newness of this place wears off that will continue. The menu is a good size with something for everyone from salads, wings, wraps, tenders, and desserts. They have a variety of sauces and flavors for all types of people whether they like hot or sweet. The prices were decent for how much food you get and they make it fresh to order every time. Great first impression and will definitely be back! read more

Tried this place on the fly today for lunch. I went through the drive thru, and ordered the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich plate. They were busy, but guy at the window was friendly and chatty despite being a little frazzled. He asked if I wanted ketchup, which is rare these days, seems like you have to ask for it or you don't get it, same with napkins. The food was great- hot, fresh and on point. Even the pickles were good pickles, not the green generic ones. I didn't get the ketchup I asked for, which is the only downside, But hey, he asked, they were busy, sh** happens. The chicken was good. I'll tell you I tore it up right off the bone. The sauce was pretty good. The menu is simple. Not too many to choose from. The price is a little high in my opinion. I've been here twice and once inside and once through the drive through. both times my food were hot, correct and it wasn't anymore than maybe a 5-7 minute wait. my son is the more picky one and he loved it as he just got the tenders and fries. Been there 3 times. First time was a great experience with good large chicken tenders. Was so pleased I went back. Second time I went through the drive thru and was served 3 tiny tenders that would not have added up to one of the tenders from my first visit and was served a mix of Diet Coke & ice tea for the Diet Coke I ordered. The second visit was the day after my first visit. Went a third time a week after the first two visits (thinking it was a new place and the second visit was a fluke). The trend of tiny tenders continued. Tenders on my last two visits don't come close to what is showing in the pictures and not worth the price. Not going to risk a fourth visit. This place is fit for a king! Fantastic service, quality and tasty food, and fair prices!! They have TV's with lots of sports!!! Owner walked around and made sure all customers were happy. Managers always making sure staff is taking care of everyone in every way. They also have a drive through! Variety of sauces were fantastic and unique. My whole family loves Slim Chickens. I know, Murfreesboro has plenty of chicken places, but in our opinion this one is the best. Actually, chik-fil-a is a close rival, but Slim's has better prices! The secret is meal-sharing! Yeah, call me a cheapskate if you want... I don't mind at all sharing a hungry plate with one of my teenagers. I end up with three delicious chicken tenders, half an order of fries, and a lot less guilt over calories consumed and money spent than I would have if I ordered a whole meal for myself. But back to the topic... The chicken at Slim Chickens is just better than anywhere else in town! The fries are fresh, the dipping sauces are divine, the decor is fun and upbeat, and the service is always over-the-top friendly. I haven't tried the Mason jar desserts, but that day is coming! I ordered a tender plate that came with fries and a drink. The tenders were so tiny they should be labeled nuggets. The fries were terrible and cold not fresh everything tasted undercooked. Visited through drive thru, which was very slow. Service at the drive thru was very pleasant. Although we had to wait to make our way to the window and then wait on our food, it was worth the wait as it was all fresh and hot. We took my son and his girlfriend here the first night we got to TN since we had been driving all day we wanted somewhere close to our hotel and this place was just around the corner. We had checked out the menu beforehand and all of us decided to go with the 5 wings & 5 tenders deal and we all got different sauces so we could try as many as possible (I am obsessed with dipping sauces, the more the better) - the Mango Habanero and Honey Mustard were the favorites with Sweet Red Chili and Slim Sauce coming in a close 2'nd. Hubby absolutely loved the fried okra but the fried pickles were my favorite and the fried mushrooms my son's pick. Our eyes were definitely much bigger than our bellies plus we underestimated how large the tenders would be because all of us ended up with leftovers. If we had more time while in TN we definitely would have gone back but this time I would just get the tenders, don't get me wrong, the wings are very good but the tenders are something special. Wish we had one of these in Baltimore, with 17 different sauce choices this is the perfect place for sauce-aholics like me. read more

Went today for the first time. The tenders were great but small. The tenders were better than Zaxby's and less greasy than Toots. The wings were ok kinda chewy and just not as good as Jeffersons or Toots. The dipping sauce and wing sauce selection was great. The tea selection was great also. They had peach, watermelon, raspberry as well as the regular. The fries were decent. The service is fine, everyone polite, and the Cajun ranch chicken sandwich the cashier recommended is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever eaten! Great recommendation, thanks! This could be my next favorite chicken place in the 'boro. First visit, the wife won't be back, way to loud. I had the 5 piece chicken tenders with fries. Really liked dipping the chicken in the sauces versus having it coated on all of the chicken. I picked the cayenne ranch and habenaro mango? Nice to swap between sauces. Fries were really good as welll, hot and seasoned well. Order was ready pretty quickly and delivered to our table. Wing stop had been my go to chicken spot but, the chicken hasn't been has good the last several visits. Next time I'll either call ahead or go thru the drive thru. Unless the wife isn't along and then I may go inside. But probably not because it didn't look like they had any beer. Despite some negative reviews I gave them a shot and they came through. Friendly, fast, fresh and tasty. The tenders are on the small side but were hot fresh and not overly breaded. The sauce choices are extensive and I loved the moderately hot mango habanero and the cool ranch with a hint of dill. Had the 3x3 with wings and tenders. The wings were very good, meaty, nice zip on the buffalo sauce. The fried pickles were not greasy at all and were very good especially with the ranch dip. Loved finishing the meal off with the mason jar strawberry cheesecake. It's a little pricy but you get to keep the jar which is very cool.
