the food is good if you get it. second time they have forgotten wings. Always double check your order before leaving there.

Update: Check your bag before you leave...We've ordered the picnic pack with a side of fries several times and each time they have forgotten to put the fries in the bag. They also continue to be inconsistent with napkins and utensils. We still like their food. read more

I watched tonight as the restaurant kicked out homeless people that had an order that they were waiting on all because they looked and were homeless. Their order was paid for but they were kicked out and discriminated against based off of looks alone. To add insult to injury they even called the police on these individuals for doing no wrong. The real crime was discrimination brought on by the business. the businesses discrimination is an act to retaliate against individuals they didn't want to serve who did no wrong. I witnessed another customer follow them out of there with the police to ensure protection of the individuals that had just been swatted for no reason by this business. read more

Was really impressed by the quality of the food. Fried Pickles, French Fries and the Chicken Tenders were hot, fresh and tasted great. The Spicy BBQ sauce is outstanding. read more

The atmosphere is very relaxed with a beautiful outside patio to enjoy the weather. The managers and staff were very friendly and attentive, hopefully after the newness of this place wears off that will continue. The menu is a good size with something for everyone from salads, wings, wraps, tenders, and desserts. They have a variety of sauces and flavors for all types of people whether they like hot or sweet. The prices were decent for how much food you get and they make it fresh to order every time. Great first impression and will definitely be back! read more

Slim Chickens - Southern Near Me - Murfreesboro, Tennessee

See all

This place isn't bad...but this place isn't good. I had heard all the buzz and thought I better check it out. Drive through was quick, customer service was good, but the food was just ehh. I wont return. I feel my money is better spent elsewhere. read more

Everything was great. Super fast, incredible service, and chicken tenders that blow Raising Cane's out of the water. No clue how this has a 3-star rating. read more

I got a kids meal the other night and it was amazing. The portion sizes actually will leave you full and you get a good amount of food considering the price. It's open til pretty late too which I like. I'm going to eat here more often read more

I love Slim Chickens! When people ask me how it is around town, I tell them that it is better than Chick-fil-A and Zaxby's. I love the perplexed looks that I get when I say that, but it's true! Don't get me wrong, I like the other two, but Slim Chickens is different. They have more variety, their desserts are tasty and I love all the different sauce selections. The chicken is where Slim Chickens shines above the rest. It's very lightly battered, not greasy and the meat is very tender for it to be fast food service. My favorite choices are the grilled chicken wrap and the salad - both delicious and both large portions. I typically can not eat the other half of the wrap when paired with their yummy potato salad. Obviously, I don't think they are overrated at all, just good! read more

Huge letdown. Tenders are very bland and barely have any flaky fried crust. Honey mustard and ranch sauces taste like they came out of a Kraft bottle. Fries and mac & cheese okay. Texas toast had seemingly no butter on it, just was slightly toasted plain bread. I'd give the wings 3/5 and the tenders 1/5, so averaging this one to two stars. The wait is surprisingly not too long in the drive through, if you're looking for something positive to say. Honestly Zaxby's would be better, which is just too bad. Go elsewhere. read more

The line was wrapped around the building and the service was still fast!! Good chicken (if you like zaxby's you'll love slim chickens). I didn't care for the macaroni though, it wasn't nasty just too watery! The fries are good though! read more

I discovered this place in Oklahoma and I just recently moved to Murfreesboro so I was so excited to see a location here! This is hands down one of my favorite chicken places. It's always made fresh and the dipping sauces are the best part. I just love it! read more

Been there 3 times. First time was a great experience with good large chicken tenders. Was so pleased I went back. Second time I went through the drive thru and was served 3 tiny tenders that would not have added up to one of the tenders from my first visit and was served a mix of Diet Coke & ice tea for the Diet Coke I ordered. The second visit was the day after my first visit. Went a third time a week after the first two visits (thinking it was a new place and the second visit was a fluke). The trend of tiny tenders continued. Tenders on my last two visits don't come close to what is showing in the pictures and not worth the price. Not going to risk a fourth visit. The dessert and sides are good. read more

Tenders were small and lacking taste. Something like you might serve in a retirement comunity. The fries that came with the combo were stale and reheated and basically sucked. I would go to Zaxbys if I wanted overpriced chicken. This place should be called "Slim Pickens". Won't be back anytime soon. read more

This place is fit for a king! Fantastic service, quality and tasty food, and fair prices!! They have TV's with lots of sports!!! Owner walked around and made sure all customers were happy. Managers always making sure staff is taking care of everyone in every way. They also have a drive through! Variety of sauces were fantastic and unique. Try the honey mustard and the mango habanero, beautiful sauces. They also gave us a an extra dessert for free! read more

The chicken was so amazing and the ranch that came with my tenders was amazing, the costumer service was also amazing and I enjoyed every bit of it. read more

I am not sure why this is rated so low. The chicken tenders fast fresh and delicious. The fries are delicious as well. I would have given it 5 stars, but I wasn't as impressed with the wings. It's comparable to Zaxby's, but it's cleaner and has better service. read more

I ordered a tender plate that came with fries and a drink. The tenders were so tiny they should be labeled nuggets. The fries were terrible and cold not fresh everything tasted undercooked. Service was friendly at the drive thru one star for that and the second star for sauce that covers up the terrible food. read more

The food here was good. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars. The desserts were my favorite part!

Tried this place on the fly today for lunch. I went through the drive thru, and ordered the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich plate. They were busy, but guy at the window was friendly and chatty despite being a little frazzled. He asked if I wanted ketchup, which is rare these days, seems like you have to ask for it or you don't get it, same with napkins. The food was great- hot, fresh and on point. Even the pickles were good pickles, not the green generic ones. I didn't get the ketchup I asked for, which is the only downside, But hey, he asked, they were busy, sh** happens. I'll be sure to check next time. I'll definitely be back! read more

The chicken was good. I'll tell you I tore it up right off the bone. The sauce was pretty good. The menu is simple. Not too many to choose from. The price is a little high in my opinion. I wouldn't go again because of the price. Then again it is right by the freeway an by the mall so I guess that is why. But if money is no problem then go for it!! read more

I've been here twice and once inside and once through the drive through. both times my food were hot, correct and it wasn't anymore than maybe a 5-7 minute wait. my son is the more picky one and he loved it as he just got the tenders and fries. ( he doesn't really eat fries and he finished these) I got the chicken and waffles and I generally don't like Belgium waffles but there were perfect. will be back! read more

The people were very nice and service was fast. However the food is average and small. This place is just a fancy zaxby's nothing more.

Horrible My first and last time chicken was awful tasted old and I didn't get all the food I ordered don't waste your money

Visited through drive thru, which was very slow. Service at the drive thru was very pleasant. Although we had to wait to make our way to the window and then wait on our food, it was worth the wait as it was all fresh and hot. Unless you like a lot of ice in your drinks you may want to request lite on the ice. There was enough ice in our cups to chill fish for a couple of hours. All ice, very little beverage. read more

The food is always hot and made fresh to order so it isn't exactly fast food but the wait is well worth it. The chicken is delicious and there are a wide variety of sauces that add to the flavor. I love getting the fried mushrooms instead of French fries! read more

My whole family loves Slim Chickens. I know, Murfreesboro has plenty of chicken places, but in our opinion this one is the best. Actually, chik-fil-a is a close rival, but Slim's has better prices! The secret is meal-sharing! Yeah, call me a cheapskate if you want... I don't mind at all sharing a hungry plate with one of my teenagers. I end up with three delicious chicken tenders, half an order of fries, and a lot less guilt over calories consumed and money spent than I would have if I ordered a whole meal for myself. But back to the topic... The chicken at Slim Chickens is just better than anywhere else in town! The fries are fresh, the dipping sauces are divine, the decor is fun and upbeat, and the service is always over-the-top friendly. I haven't tried the Mason jar desserts, but that day is coming! Yum! read more

Great food and prices and the restaurant is very clean. I got the chicken tenders and they were awesome.

Very slow in drive-thru. Waited 20 minutes to get my food. This is why other chicken places are more competitive; cheaper prices and better customer service. read more

Best chicken tenders I've ever tried. If you're ever in Tennessee it's a must stop spot. Had the Slim Plate with mac n' cheese and I devoured it. Tenders were fresh, juicy and tasty. Food is fresh and made to order. I pray we get Slim Chicken to come south read more

Had the chicken and waffles. It was good but not amazing. Chicken size is way smaller than zaxbys or Hattie B's. Great service and atmosphere for sure. read more

Forget Zaxbys and Chick-fil-A. This is the place to come. Always get great food and tonight was no exception. All of the staff is polite. The order is always correct (a rarity these days). If you love fried pickles get an order here. We always bring our Husky with us when we hit the drive through and they have dog treats ready, so she gives them 5 stars as well. read more

Went today for the first time. The tenders were great but small. The tenders were better than Zaxby's and less greasy than Toots. The wings were ok kinda chewy and just not as good as Jeffersons or Toots. The dipping sauce and wing sauce selection was great. The tea selection was great also. They had peach, watermelon, raspberry as well as the regular. The fries were decent. I think if they can get the size of the tenders bigger it would be a better deal for what they are charging. read more

My family and I love this place! The chicken is always juicy and delicious! And the dipping sauces are amazing! Their Mac and cheese and potato salad are amazing! I can't say enough great things about this place! We always brig family here when they visit from out of town because they love the food! read more

We took my son and his girlfriend here the first night we got to TN since we had been driving all day we wanted somewhere close to our hotel and this place was just around the corner. We had checked out the menu beforehand and all of us decided to go with the 5 wings & 5 tenders deal and we all got different sauces so we could try as many as possible (I am obsessed with dipping sauces, the more the better) - the Mango Habanero and Honey Mustard were the favorites with Sweet Red Chili and Slim Sauce coming in a close 2'nd. Hubby absolutely loved the fried okra but the fried pickles were my favorite and the fried mushrooms my son's pick. Our eyes were definitely much bigger than our bellies plus we underestimated how large the tenders would be because all of us ended up with leftovers. If we had more time while in TN we definitely would have gone back but this time I would just get the tenders, don't get me wrong, the wings are very good but the tenders are something special. Wish we had one of these in Baltimore, with 17 different sauce choices this is the perfect place for sauce-aholics like me. read more

This could be my next favorite chicken place in the 'boro. First visit, the wife won't be back, way to loud. I had the 5 piece chicken tenders with fries. Really liked dipping the chicken in the sauces versus having it coated on all of the chicken. I picked the cayenne ranch and habenaro mango? Nice to swap between sauces. Fries were really good as welll, hot and seasoned well. Order was ready pretty quickly and delivered to our table. Wing stop had been my go to chicken spot but, the chicken hasn't been has good the last several visits. Next time I'll either call ahead or go thru the drive thru. Unless the wife isn't along and then I may go inside. But probably not because it didn't look like they had any beer. That was about the only reason to wait for a order at Wing Stop for the last year. read more

The chicken strips are very good. They are a little smaller than what you get at zaxbys. The price is pretty similar.

Great chicken fingers and fries. Love the variety of sweet teas... watermelon is my favorite. Slim sauce and honey mustard are not very good. The cayenne ranch is fantastic. I wish they would make a more traditional chicken finger sauce, comparable to Zaxby sauce. read more

Nice food... Tastes really good and it's very cheap. The service was good except the workers need to pay more attention.

Over priced. Food doesn't suck but sure ain't nothing to brag about. Just go to zaxbys. This place is disappointing. The people were nice and decor is aesthetically pleasing but the food isn't up to par. read more
