I am somewhat torn as I write this review. On one hand, Slim Chickens does exactly what it sets out to do--no better and no worse. They serve chicken tenders, and they do an above-average job at it. The sauces are house-made and genuinely flavorful. The sides are decent as well. The mac and cheese is creamy and solid for a fast-food restaurant, although I would still give the edge to Chick-fil-A. The service has consistently been friendly, and my family has never had any issues with the staff. What stands out most, however, is the consistency. We have never had a bad meal here. The food is always hot, our order is usually correct, and the experience is predictable in the best way possible. The value is where I hesitate a bit. You'll leave full, but the pricing feels slightly higher than it needs to be. That said, it isn't enough to prevent us from returning. Overall, Slim Chickens occupies an interesting middle ground between Chick-fil-A and Raising Cane's. Took a moment to look over the menu and decided to order but before I asked the cashier what's his go to and he recommended the tender meal with buffalo sauce, so I took his advice but got my sauce on the side and upgraded to fried pickles instead of fries, and my friend ordered the chicken sandwich meal. We decided to dine in, it was clean and neat. Our food came out fairly fast. They brought the food to our table and asked if we needed anything. My tenders were crispy, tender, and juicy; fried pickles were salty but the ranch dip helped. The chicken sandwich meal my friend ordered had a dried out chicken breast which you could actually see how dry it looked once bitten into, which was upsetting considering how juicy and tender my tenders were. And dessert strawberry cheesecake in a jar and chocolate brownie pudding and key lime pie all in jars and I tried the strawberry cheesecake and it was delicious. I ordered the tender Mac bowl which was so good. My husband got the wings and he enjoyed them. Overall a successful dinner. However, I was expecting juicy chicken per their table cards on they make the chicken. The chicken was extremely dry and has little to no flavor. I got 5 sauces for $1.99 which was a pretty nice option especially for it being my first time and wanting to sample different sauces. Every sauce I got was great! The restaurant is a trendy looking place with plenty of parking. The interior is clean and simple. Their menu is very simple with only a few choices. The person at the register wasn't overly friendly, but did get our order right. Alright, so we did try the tenders. Rather than french fries, I got the fried mushrooms and my wife got the okra. The surprise was that even though they don't do a lot, what they do, they do extremely well. Move over DQ Country Basket! While I am not a tender fanatic, the breading was really good and the chicken well seasoned and moist. I chose the country gravy as my sauce. It was as good as I've ever had. The fried mushrooms were also as good as I've had and the okra not far behind. The final surprise was the Texas toast. It was buttery and garlicky and again, some of the best that I've had. I went with the 3 & 3 Meal which comes with 3 tenders and 3 wings. For sauces I got the Slim Sauce and the Cayenne Ranch. My Bf got the same meal but with Mango Habanero and Garlic Parmesan. We both really liked the Cayenne Ranch and the Garlic Parmesan. The Slim Sauce was okay, but nothing special. Neither of us liked the Mango Habanero. It was too Mango and not enough Habanero. The wings were good - nice and crispy. I got mine with the Lemon Pepper dry rub. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Freshly fried, piping hot, SEASONED (looking at you, Raising Canes) and delicious. They have about 10 different choices of dipping sauces. I tried honey mustard, Korean BBQ, spicy bbq and ranch. Loved all of them except the Korean BBQ...even then, it wasn't bad. Fries were crispy, fried pickles were cut thin and delicious, and the toast was crunchy. Really good meal. I decided to finally stop by here to try a new chicken place nearby and I'll have to say I enjoyed their food. The service inside is absolutely great even after we ordered employees were coming by asking to take any garbage or to see if we needed anything else , also the attentiveness of the employees when someone leaves they make sure and clean the tables chairs and everything. When we went it was pretty busy inside and the had TVs , wasn't too loud. Now to the food I really wanted some chicken and waffles which I thought were really good and would definitely order again. Several other people were also waiting on delayed orders, and there were no apologies or communication from the staff. When the food finally came out, it was terrible. The chicken wings were old, stale, and had barely any sauce. The fried mushrooms were mushy instead of crispy, the fries were cold and tasted old, and the mac & cheese didn't look edible. I thought I wanted to try the brownies, but how in the heck are you trying to sell a $2 brownie that's literally the size of a Ritz cracker.
