Slice is a go-to every time I visit OBX. There's nothing better than their Chicago-Style pizza. It's a higher grade version of Pizza Hut's crust that is fantastic in everyday. Cheese, pepperoni, or sausage and pepperoni are the options Chicago-Style. There are more standard pizzas as well as sausage rolls, garlic knots, and other items on the menu. It's usually very busy and there isn't a ton of room to sit inside but a lot of folks seem to go pickup and take elsewhere as it is. The prices are excellent too. Pizza by the slice is a rare option where I'm from so it's great to have that be an option. read more

We decided to stop by while out exploring the outer banks. Got a total of six large slices of pizza and two drinks and it came out to a little under 30$. The pizza was phenomenal and the atmosphere is wonderful. It was a very clean and friendly establishment with many options for all types of pizza lovers, our favorites were the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and the natural gourmet. At first I was incredibly suspicious that it wasn't even GF but it had to be because I get symptoms after exposure and had none after devouring a GF spinach and chicken pizza from Slice. I am back at home today but I kinda want to drive back out there so I can have this pizza again right now! We ordered a Chicago style margherita pizza, a meat lovers, and a half pepperoni and bacon half cheese late Saturday night. The place was packed and it took about 30 minutes for our pizzas to come out. We were able to sip beer while we waited. Pizza was pretty good. The meat lovers was awesome, but the fam felt the margherita pizza was just ok. That was the only pizza leftover, the rest was quickly devoured. The pizza is pricey - we paid over $70 for 3 pizzas so I guess I expected greatness. It was good, but I would definitely check out other pizza places in the area. read more

Slice just came to my hometown on the Outer Banks a couple summers ago and already has quite the following! For good reason too. They probably have the best hand-tossed pizza on the beach and it's NY style too. The slices are large and they're good and cheesey; even if a little oily, it's well worth it! My family and I think it's a little pricey but it's realllllly good. Slice also has pretty good daily specials in addition to getting a free pizza after saving 10 pizza box tops. My only complaint aside from the pricey-ness is the shortness of kinds of slices. For a place called "Slice" they should make sure to have the main kinds of slices, like cheese and pepperoni, at hand at all times. Like Dan R., I too was frustrated with the lack of variety of slices when I dropped by for lunch on Friday, but the service was still superb. I can only assume they gave me a bowl of the clam chowder instead of my ordered cup because it was Christmas Eve. Yes, they even have soup! It was served with 2 garlic knots too and what little bites I got -- after my Mom and sister got a hold of them -- were very good. I will warn you in case you want to eat there. The place is TINY. My family usually picks up the pizzas and takes them home. It's a great place for takeout because it's so small. We have been eating so much this trip, we limited ourselves to one slice each from Slice and took it back to our rental condo so we could enjoy it with a bottle of wine and a salad. Even though restaurants are not packed this time of year, Slice was doing a good business on Friday night. When you walk in you are hit with the smell of fresh garlic. I had a slice of Meat Lovers and Ms T a slice of Natural Gourmet. Both of us were pretty happy with the pizza. It's OK and it is definitely nice to be able to just get a slice although you can't build-your-own for just a slice. We felt the cheese at Cosmo's and Café Francos was better. Rubbery mozzarella is critical for me. Slice had better crust than Cosmo's. They don't have a briny olive, Kalamata or green, which we would like. In my opinion, this is hands down the best pizza around! The meatball sub was good. The spaghetti was really good. The Italian cold cut was not very good at all. I hate olives and when my Italian cold cut arrived it was loaded with black olives. I had a hard time eating it because even though the olives were taken off, the sub still tasted like olives. I didn't say anything because we were in a hurry. I did ask for oil and vinegar which was missing, so maybe she thought I said olives. They don't even sound anything alike. This is the reason why I am only giving 4 stars. I think it is important to repeat the order back to the customer so these simple mistakes never take place. read more

The 411: this is a really nice place for a slice of pizza pie in the OBX area. Only gripe is the price level. The crust was thin and crispy. The cheese is stringy and mild. The toppings were wonderful. Pepperoni was flavorful and the peppers and onions were cooked right. The sausage could've been a little more flavorful, but that's just my preference. The sauce was pretty good. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely not the worst. It's a thinner sauce and it's not too sweet. It took quite a bit of time for our pizza to come out, but it was worth the wait. The toppings cost $2 per addition, and the base price is close to $16. Be aware if you're on a budget. Dominos is a much cheaper option. Bottom line: if you're looking for a premium pizza with decent flavor and good ingredients, give this place a try.
