We we're in the Outer Banks and we have a regular pizza place that we like, but it was closed when we tried to order so I looked up other places that were nearby online and found this place. We ordered a basic regular cheese pizza to take back to the rental and watch a movie. My impression and my children's impression once we took one bite of this pizza was oh yuck. We were long time customers of the restaurant and the pizza. For many years, it was a "go to" location during our week at the beach. Post Covid, they adopted a new way of serving customers by eliminating wait staff, metal utensils etc and that became the new normal. On our final visit this last week, while the pizza was tasty, it had been shrunken dramatically and was incredibly overpriced: Our $20 plus supreme pizza was the size of a small dinner plate and fit in the box with plenty of room to spare. We like to eat at local places when we travel. We went here during the off season, so they weren't busy at all. It's a nice little pizza joint. They also offer Strombolis, subs, a couple of salads, wings, and what they refer to as Scooby Snacks which are mozzarella sticks, onion straws, basket of fries, stuffed jalapeños, and even chicken tenders, just to name a few. They only offer soda in cans and beer in bottles. They offer two different wines by the glass and have a couple of mixed drink options. We ordered a couple of pizzas and cans of soda. We arrived late afternoon so no wait inside. You seat yourself and order from the counter. We ordered the 14" Pepperoni, meatball sub, & Buffalo wings. They only offer can beverages or tea on tap. The food came out super fast. Everything was pretty tasty. The wings could have been crispier imo, but my wife loved them. The food was absolutely horrible. You have to have cheese on the pizza to really call it a cheese pizza. It had no flavor at all. The subs had very little meat in it but the steak on the sub had good flavor. The cheese bread- you could barely call it that. It at least had cheese on it but it's very hard to call this flat pizza like bread, bread sticks. The calzone was just okay. read more

If I went by myself I'd give a one star review however.. Family enjoyed the wings and fries Pizza was on par with Chuckie E. Cheese but it was enjoyed The Philly Chicken was the worst chicken Philly I've ever had. I'm guessing it was the Italian dressing that assisted with the food falling out of the bottom. The paper in the basket ended up falling apart and I'm sure it ended up in my meal. The sandwich overall tasted ok, didn't end up tasting like a normal chicken Philly because of the intense amount of Italian dressing (if you must order, order w/o the dressing) As for the service, ambiance and customer service Restaurant is in dire need of an upgrade. Ceiling has mold in some spots (or it's from just being wet), carpet needs to be replaced and the sticky bar wasn't pleasant. This isn't the type of place you'd come and have a drink at the bar, doesn't really exist. Overall, this place lacks an OBX feel and is in need of a desperate facelift. The hostess lacked emotion, didn't seem pleasant but the other folks helping seemed nice. Leaving this review to help new customers, not to bash. Constructive criticism. read more

This is a go-to must have every time we visit OBX. The staff is amazing and kind. My service dog was welcomed. We typically will eat a pizza there and take one to-go for a late night snack. Pizza is excellent fresh and reheated. Very family friendly establishment. Highly recommend. read more

Read the menu carefully - I was very disappointed in the size of the large pizza. Anywhere else on Planet Earth the crust of a large pizza touches the edges of the pizza box. Here, the large looks to be about 1.5-2" away from the box edges - in other words, truly a 14" circumference pizza like rbe menu says, if that. Cut into 8 slices, you basically have a kiddie pizza. read more

Dare Devils is one of my favorite places to eat in the OBX! The place itself is very casual and the food is extremely delicious. We tend to order Stromboli or the Italian sub (hot). The restaurant has made some changes (no longer full service), but given how difficult it is to find/keep good help everywhere you go the new setup works. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. Only negative I might have is that they no longer serve fountain sodas - they now have cans or bottles. However, if you drink water or tea (sweet and unsweetened available), there are unlimited refills. The sauce used on the Stromboli and pizzas is very flavorful. Give them a try, you won't regret it! read more

Five stars. Matt Murdock isn't just a great lawyer and a great crime fighter, but he makes a helluva pizza, too! Lawyer by day, vigilante by night, Daredevil...oh, it's spelled differently. There is a space. Ah, all right, so the knock-off Daredevil goes around selling wonderful pizzas in Kill Devil Hills. Disney/Marvel can't get mad about it due to the space, and the red-suit-wearing pizza maker is allowed to continue his craft, for 34 years now, according to the sign out front! Well, let me tell you, you don't need all of your senses to enjoy the pizza here, just taste. If you've got that, then damn, you're in! The BBQ chicken pizza was perfect. A lot of BBQC pizzas have too much sauce, or too much cheese. This one hit the right spot with just enough of both. The crust on these pizzas is something I actually wanted to eat, whereas I usually toss it to the side (or to my dog if he's lucky that day). But this crust went into my mouthhole. Service? There were two servers serving the entire restaurant, with tables of 6+, and they managed to do it awesomely. I hope they are making some good tips, because it seemed like a lot. The pizzas took awhile to come because the kitchen couldn't necessarily keep up with the demand. There was even a 15 minute wait to be seated, something I've never once seen at a pizza place in my 30 years of life (I'm lying about my age, don't call me on it). It was all well-worth the wait, and the small/10" pizza was enough for me to bring some home to scarf down while smashing out this review on my laptop's keyboard. Ordered pickup, worked out great. Everyone enjoyed. Hadn't been to OBX in years, things are pretty much the same.

I picked up dinner 2 of the 6 nights we stayed in Kill Devil's Hill. Sunday night we had 2 pizzas, one a Greek. Oh my that Greek pizza was perfect. I don't recall having one before but it will be one of my go tos from now on. The other was pepperoni and onion. It was also very good. We also had 2 orders of onion straws. They were delicious. There were only 4 of us so we were able to get 3 meals out of the order. A few nights later we ordered subs. Two Italian and one meatball and cheese. They came with chips which was nice. The subs were very tasty and the sub rolls got a 10+. My only comment is I thought the subs were a little smaller than a normal sub. The only reason I mentioned this is at home I always share a sub. So my sister and I shared an Italian. I could have easily eaten a whole one, especially with that delicious bread. Staff was very friendly both on the phone and in person. I have eaten here in the past and will definitely eat at Dare Devil's again. read more

Pizza is really good. Got the Dare Devil pizza and definitely would get it again. The chicken wings on other hand were subpar to be fair and polite. They are heavy breaded (not a traditional fried style) and not a traditional wing cut. Very random and strange chicken wings as almost just randomly and poorly cut. Lots of tendons and strange bone anatomy/sharp bones etc.. . Very fatty, soggy and not very good. I would not recommend them. For $13 for 10 ct would recommend trying something different from menu... All that to say would definitely get the Dare Devil pizza again. read more

We did take out because we were working around the house and needed to eat. Not that I'm a pizza expert but it just didn't meet my expectations. The sauce was nonexistent. It might have been painted on with a brush. The cheese was very sparse. We opted for our favorite toppings. Sausage, pepperoni, onions and green peppers. The toppings were extremely stingy. Some slices didn't have one bite of sausage. I would expect to have at least one of each topping on each slice. Crust was very dry and tough. I wanted it to be good. It just wasn't. read more

Mozzarella sticks tasted like the kind you buy from food lion, the cheese pizza tasted literally like a piece of cardboard with barely any cheese, the steak sandwich barely had any meat, canned cold mushrooms, only 8" long, asked for it to be toasted crispy and it's literally a piece of rubber and not even close to crispy or toasted! $38.00 for food that isn't even edible and I have a 16 year old who lives on pizza and he won't even touch it! Ordered a large cheese pizza from here. It wAs decently priced and all the staff were accommodating. Grabbed the pizza for takeout and was given individual Parmesan and peppers. The portion size was disappointing. The pizza was more of a small or medium size. But that pizza tasted amazing. I'd go again! Would give 5 stars if they delivered. We were one block away so no big deal, but not having to leave your residence is nice. Otherwise, the pizza, fries, and chicken were awesome. We got a BBQ chicken pizza, and chicken tenders and fries; everything was hot and delicious. Service was fast for how busy they were. We called 4 or 5 different places from 7pm to 8pm that were supposed to be open and/or deliver but weren't. Went because other places closed I would have gone to. Topping selection was decent but pizza is just not that good. Dough tastes lifeless and pre-fab -consistency of a day old bagel and overly chewy and glutinous not a lot of sauce but the sauce was ok tasting...but couldn't save the pie. Jalapeño poppers were ok but a bit overcooked outside. Good quantity for price. Just can't see myself coming back. Caesar's crust is honestly better than this. read more
