Pretty good little pizza joint. We got a half cheese/half pepperoni and then a Hawaiian. Good amount of cheese & toppings on both and the crust was actually very good. My 5 year old who normally doesn't eat crust at the entire thing--crust too! My wife commented on how good the crust was too. Pretty quick service--probably 10-12 minutes from order until it was on our table. They advertise more than just pizza, but they had a sign up that said no subs and no fried foods--not sure if that was temporary (out of goods) or normal. We sat inside, it was a little dingy, not super clean feeling--but it's an older place. Could probably use a makeover inside. read more

We got to the beach Saturday and didn't feel like going out or cooking after the long drive and unpacking. They close at 9pm and it was 8pm. I knew they would be busy and was hoping they would still take my order. The gentleman that answered the phone was very friendly and had no problem taking my order for delivery even though he said it would be about an hour wait. We were so relieved! The food came in about 45 minutes and the pizza was very good, and we ate on it for 2 days! I also got a garden salad that was very fresh! They have very good Ranch. My crew who goes here very often had a huge issue with their drink. The ice had mold in it and she did not notice until she got near the bottom of her soda. That is a huge indication that they are not cleaning their ice machine! She complained to the manager and he gave her a free drink??? WTH? The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I did not in fact get pizza here. I went with the chef salad, which did not have black olives as stated, but DID have jalapeños as the "hot peppers" mentioned in the menu. I'm pretty sure I have never seen jalapeños on a chef salad, and certainly not at an Italian joint. A little surprised at the bad reviews. I was down in Duck for the day and my husband wanted a sub. I saw this place and stopped. Yes....it is small. Around 5 booths. Nothing fancy. I definitely want to call out David. Excellent customer service and so friendly. They actually have a very reasonable lunch buffet. I got the cheesesteak sub for my husband and a medium cheese pizza for the other guys. I actually did not taste the food but my husband said the sub was very good. I heard good things about the pizza. Service was great and fast and David was very friendly and helpful.....a true asset to this place. read more

We are staying at a condo nearby on vacation. In a comedy of errors, we lost our dinner reservation after getting locked out of our car, and had to wait for AAA road service. After that problem was solved, we wanted dinner quickly, so we went online to look for pizza. Pizzazz was only about a half mile away, and when I called the order in, they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We picked it up & it was ready right on time. And it was VERY tasty. The place is in the Loblolly Pines shopping center, and it has a few booths inside, but it is mostly a carryout. But Pizzazz Pizza saved the day for us for dinner tonight, and we will seek them out the next time. read more

A solid pizza place. We tried Duck and PIzzazz when we stayed in Duck. My brother vastly preferred Pizzazz, I preferred Duck. The appetizer options at Pizzazz are better (particularly since the one thing I didn't like at Duck Pizza were the burnt cheese sticks). Basic topping options, good cheese, pan tossed buttery crust (mid-thick). Site and Yelp say they deliver, we found out that is only the case for dinner (not lunch, so plan ahead). Would try again--reminds me a lot of "Hunt Brothers Pizza" when it is done best (the franchised pizza prep pick-up pizza spots mostly in gas stations and grocery stores in the south and midwest). read more

The price was reasonable at about $10.00 per person that included our drinks. The biggest drawback is the size. The restaurant is very small. There are five booths inside. Acceptable quality pizza, not bad but nothing special. I liked the crust. It was thick but not deep dish. They didn't have any delivery people until 4:00 which was about 45 minutes after I ordered. I got my pizza around 4:30. I was okay with it, I could have just driven into town and got it myself if I wanted it sooner. Just something to be aware of. I felt like it was a good price for what I got, considering it is a tourist destination town where many things are more expensive. Let me say this, subs come in 6" and 12" and they are loaded with your choice condiments! For me, I had to get fresh green peppers and mushrooms. The service was awesome! I'm a talker so the manager and I were discussed the menu and the holiday climate at the Banks during off-season. Only cons were that the seating was limited and the seating booths were tight for us. Disappointed with my last order; I called and the guy who answered said he couldn;t take my credit card over the phone. I said, "you always did this before" and he said, "No, they NEVER did this". Really? I've ordered pizzas there for years and did it this way. He said he'd been there "awhile", too. He wanted me to get some app and well, I'm 65 years old. I'm not computer savy and I'll admit I'm dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to apps. I had my friend go pick up my pizza, who paid for it. But guess what? I'm the big tipper! I always doubel and triple tip (having been a server many decades ago and knowing how tipping is important). So I think this guy was just being lazy for not doing what everyone else has ALWAYS done there but in the end, he just screwed himself. Hey this is a pretty decent pizza place! There's no character or anything unique to the shop itself. But the pizza was good that I would eat it again. I was staying at a nearby hotel and they delivered the pizza to me as there was no dine in eating at the pizzeria. The pizza was a good crust not too thin but not thick. It wasn't very greasy and I enjoyed the taste. The meatball sub was average, nothing to remark beyond that it was a meatball sub and was good enough to eat the whole thing! The prices were on par for that style of food at the beach. I was happy with the experience. Someone from my group ordered a salad but the dressing was forgotten in the delivery. We called the store and the driver came back out with the dressing very fast. Polite staff, and easy to order over the phone. Gave people wait times that were impossible to meet with a broken oven and gave no updates. Told 45 minutes. Showed up and told at least another half an hour. The last time I was in the OBX and wanted pizza, the guy who was cleaning the pool at our rental house recommended Cosmos Pizza in Corolla. He was stoned out of his gourd, so I figured he knew where to get good pizza. He wasn't wrong; however, he failed to mention Pizzaz Pizza, which was only a half mile from our rental (Hey! I used a semi-colon!) So I was going to order my medium pepperoni and mushroom pie and run over to Growlers To Go (40 strides away from Pizzaz) and have a few beers while I waited . The guy behind the counter said it would only be 10 minutes, so I decided to wait for my pizza - after all, I'd only be able to get three beers down in that amount of time. Well, he was right- I had my pizza in 10 minutes. Now, this was off season in November and the place was empty, so don't hold me to wait times in July. The pizza was really, really good. An ample amount of toppings and cheese, red sauce with a hint of sweetness and a nice, crispy crust. It was even delicious when I reheated it in the oven the next day. The price, I guess, wasn't terrible- $17 for a medium 2 topping. If you're staying in Duck, you don't need to go any further than Pizzaz for your pizza craving. read more
