The fries were good and the pizza was mediocre with not a ton of flavor comparable to airport or mall pizza. Definitely good for check in night and if you need something quick. The service was below average as we witnessed a customer order five pizza and asked for them to be double cut since the slices are big. When they gave him his pizzas they didn't cut them twice so they handed him the pizza cutter so he had to cut them himself on the counter. Giant Slice Pizza is a casual pizza place in the Timbuck II complex in Corolla, NC. There's plenty of free parking in the lots and garages in the shopping area. The ambiance is very casual and good for large groups. There's lots of seating indoors. You order from the front and there's a variety of fast food options. The menu board didn't have prices, but we ended up paying ~$18 for chicken tenders, fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. All the food was average, but the quantity was worth the price. Walked into the store with my family, hoping to buy some pizza for lunch. Not greeted and was coldly asked what we wanted to eat. We took a little time to decide what to get as we had a large family, the cashiers attitude was horrendous, he was rolling his eyes, shaking his head, just had a rude tone in his voice. We pay and start to see him make the pizza in the back, as he is doing this he isn't washing his hands, not putting gloves on, touching his beard and eating all while serving food. Also the cooks in that back were all also not wearing gloves nor washing their hands. Then when waiting for our order we are asked if we want to order again, we say no and he rolls his eyes so far back in his head they'd probably saw his own brain. Had the garlic knots and small Buffalo chicken pizza, was on vacation and didn't want to drop another $100 on fine dining. Pizza was very good , not too hot and had nice balanced flavor. Garlic knots were good but marinara was cold. Gave four stars because knots came out same time as pizza and we know that isn't expected and cold marinara. 7/22/2017: Pizzas we're good. We ordered three 18-inch pizzas: a cheese, a pepperoni, and a supreme. We tried getting a few slices with hamburger (no pork) but all their meat, even meatballs have pork. Phone didn't seem to work when we called, so we drove there and ordered in person. They were getting calls non-stop. We heard them telling folks who were calling in that the estimation to have pizzas delivered was over an hour. We told them we would wait and ours were ready in thirty minutes. Tip: during the high season Saturday nights are the busiest since that's when many folks arrive for a one-week vacation. read more

Giant slice was one of perhaps 2 options open. One of the workers told us there were flies in the kitchen so they couldn't prepare any fresh food from the menu. If that's the case, the entire restaurant should be shut down for the evening. We could see people working in the kitchen. It looked like they were backed up with take out/ to go orders and didn't want to take any more orders. I would have favored honesty over the fly story. They did let us purchase pre-made slices. Pizza was below average at best and not remotely giant. Plan trips to Corolla so that you make it to dinner by at least 8pm for improved restaurant options. Ordered from here as a large order (11 pies) during the week of the 4th of July. The delivery took less than they estimated, which was great considering the time of day. The pizza itself was pretty average...have had better and worse. We got cheese, vegetable, pepperoni, and buff chicken. When we want pizza in Corolla we usually get takeout from here. I love that they deliver with only a $20 minimum. The pizza is okay, although some types are better than others, and prices are high as is typical in the area. In my opinion the red sauce pizzas are better than the white pizzas, which don't have enough garlic flavor for my taste. This last time we got the deluxe pizza (sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers) and the amylou (a white pizza with mushrooms, tomatoes, ricotta, and spinach). The deluxe was a lot better than the amylou, but both pizzas were very skimpy on the veggie toppings. In the future I would order the deluxe with extra veggies. We also ordered mozzarella sticks and they didn't come with any marinara sauce for dipping, which was disappointing. read more
