The food was good but the slices are in no way giant. I've had way bigger slices for the same price or even less. Was over $11 for a slice of pepperoni, slice of buffalo chicken and a water bottle. They lie about the "Giant" part because the pizzas the size of a frisbee and that's being generous. They ran out wings classic they just don't want to make them. The specialty pies were basically frozen pizzas with frozen veggies on top. The garlic knots were drowned in a lazy river of oil with no garlic. We haven't tried a full pie from Giant Slice Pizza, but their slices are really good and, you guessed it...rather large. I had the white slice, and my hubby had the pepperoni slice. The crust on both slices was thin and nicely crispy, and the pepperoni topping on my hubby's slice was generous. The price was right, and best of all, we enjoyed their pizza. We spent the day at the beach and lost track of time. Several in our group were hungry but many of the restaurants in Corolla close around 9pm and couldn't accommodate a group. Giant slice was one of perhaps 2 options open. One of the workers told us there were flies in the kitchen so they couldn't prepare any fresh food from the menu. If that's the case, the entire restaurant should be shut down for the evening. We could see people working in the kitchen. It looked like they were backed up with take out/ to go orders and didn't want to take any more orders. I would have favored honesty over the fly story. They did let us purchase pre-made slices. Pizza was below average at best and not remotely giant. Plan trips to Corolla so that you make it to dinner by at least 8pm for improved restaurant options. Ordered from here as a large order (11 pies) during the week of the 4th of July. The delivery took less than they estimated, which was great considering the time of day. The pizza itself was pretty average...have had better and worse. We got cheese, vegetable, pepperoni, and buff chicken. When we want pizza in Corolla we usually get takeout from here. I love that they deliver with only a $20 minimum. The pizza is okay, although some types are better than others, and prices are high as is typical in the area. In my opinion the red sauce pizzas are better than the white pizzas, which don't have enough garlic flavor for my taste. This last time we got the deluxe pizza (sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers) and the amylou (a white pizza with mushrooms, tomatoes, ricotta, and spinach). The deluxe was a lot better than the amylou, but both pizzas were very skimpy on the veggie toppings. In the future I would order the deluxe with extra veggies. We also ordered mozzarella sticks and they didn't come with any marinara sauce for dipping, which was disappointing. read more

Just stopped in on a whim to grab some pizza with the hopes of enjoying it in the awesome out door area close by. That did not happen. Let me preface this by saying that I work in the service industry (retail) and I understand that sometimes customers don't see everything that's going on. My friend and I each ordered one slice of pizza and an appetizer each (pepperoni rolls and garlic knots.) As we were ordering with one associate another associate had two friends come in and order. I'm pretty sure they never paid. They got most of their food before we got anything and they ordered after us. Their order was not any less difficult to prepare but it was clear that they were given priority over paying customers. I ordered a slice with an extra topping and got it significantly before my friend got her slice which only needed to be warmed up. After about twenty five minutes my friend went up to the counter and the associate who had taken orders from friends pretty much avoided eye contact with her for a good two minutes before asking what she needed. She asked if they had forgot about us because a lot of other people were getting food that had arrived after us. We were assured that the pepperoni rolls and garlic knots took longer and they should be done any minute (mean while my friend still hadn't gotten her slice). While we were waiting, the cashiers friends received an order of garlic knots. Finally they called my friends name and she got her slice and pepperoni rolls. The associate then had to essentially yell at the clueless kitchen staff to ask where the garlic knots were (that had presumably gone to her friends first instead of me). After all of the guys in the back simply shrugged their shoulders, she told me that they "lost the ticket" and "haven't started them yet." Then proceeded to say "do you want a free drink or something?" instead of offering me a refund. While we were waiting, we decided we might as well eat instead of enjoy the outside area and just take the rolls and knots home for later. I'm not sure how you can ruin pepperoni pizza but it was terrible and my friend said her slice tasted as fi it had been sitting out for a long time. I recently got 3 pizzas for take out. The cheese and pepperoni pizzas were perfectly fine, not great but no complaints. The margherita pizza was fantastic. However, I was not impressed with their COVID precautions. The mask on the guy at check out, who was also taking pizza to tables, was below his nose. But at least he had a mask. The kitchen staff, who are leaning over the pizzas in a hot kitchen, do not have masks. When I asked if they don't have to wear masks, he said "no" with a very snippy tone and a rude demeanor. Not smart or sanitary while NC's virus numbers are on the rise. I won't be returning. Addendum: Well, no, sir, I had no desire to get in a nasty exchange of words with you but you are incredibly rude. I was being generous in my review of the food (except margherita, which was delicious). I was slightly grossed out to eat it because of the sweaty conditions I saw. But we were all hungry so we threw caution to the wind because there is only so much control we have these days. I do understand your food goes in a hot oven but they also stand over it to cut it when it comes out. Why are there health codes at all if you can rationalize your need to work around them? These are not easy times for sure but staff at any restaurant should be cordial when politely asked about COVID precautions. I'm sure you don't want an outbreak to be linked to your business. I have been meaning to review this place since the summer and am finally getting down to it! I visited the OBX twice this summer and was pleasantly pleased to go to Giant Slice Pizza both times I was there. Now, I'm not a huge pizza fan, I'll eat it every once in awhile, but it is not one of my top choices when trying to decide what to eat. When I am in the OBX though, it is definitely one of my top choices and Giant Slice Pizza is the way to go! The pizza is made perfectly to my liking. I am not big on doughy pizzas, I like the thinner style pizza, but not the type that is all oily which makes it get all soggy. Their pizza is the perfect thin style pizza with some crunch to it and does not get soggy. They don't only have pizza though, if you feel like a calzone or stramboli, they got it. Feel like a sandwich, no problem there. And if you are feeling like you want to eat light to look good in that bathing suit, they have salads too! Usually, I enjoy wings with my pizza and yep, they have wings! Their wings are so good! I think I had a large order of 12 all to myself...and pizza. Yes, I am an eater. I heard when the place first opened up, it was just the kitchen area and a window where you would order your slice and go on your way. It is great to hear how the place has expanded. They have a dining area where you can keep cool for awhile when it's hot out and enjoy a soda or beer with your food. The staff is great and make you feel very welcome. You can even buy souvenir tshirts. I got one, to remember my great experience there!
