I had the chance to try this place at an event I was at. It seemed like the large order was ready upon arrival. I tried three different slices. The slices were cheese, Hawaiian, and sausage. All of the crust was a little thick and bready, but not a huge deal. The tomato sauce was light but had plenty of flavor. It was the key part of the slices I thought. The cheese slice was not bad. The sausage slice had plenty of pieces present and there was a slick kick to them, which was a pleasant surprise. I have not eaten a Hawaiian slice in a while, but there was a nice blend of the toppings present. There was not too much of one or the other I thought so that was ideal. Will I go back? This restaurant is cozy and has the best Italian food! Adrianna was our waitress and she suggested to order the pizza because it is her favorite. The pizza was good, not super crisp on bottom but good sauce and crust had a nice chew. You get served with paper plates and plastic bowls. My salad was just basic. There aren't a ton of options in Corolla, but this was ok and definitely convenient after coming off of the safari beach tour, whose office is next door. read more

Came here on a busy Sunday when we first arrived in OBX. They said it would be about 45 minutes. I arrived on time and our pizza was ready. Some other folks were still waiting and they apologized for the delay to them. The pizza tasted fresh and delicious. No complaints from anyone. read more

Pizza to die for! On a recent trip to the Outer Banks, we tried Cosmos for their Monday special large 3 topping pizza. The pizza was great! Chewy crust. Toppings were plentiful. They offered meatballs as a topping which was a nice change. They were well seasoned and made for a very tasty pie. When I say this pizza is to die for, I'm serious. In the middle of the pandemic, there was nary a mask to be found in this place. They did offer curbside pickup which I could've utilized to be a little safer, but I didn't think of it soon enough. I'll deduct one star for the risk of bodily harm, but other than that, we enjoyed our pizza. read more

The pizza was thin and crispy again the lack of topping on the pizza (the amount of pepperoni) keeps this one from reaching a five star location. The service was fast and good. Excellent NY/NJ style taste which is an extremely rare find in the OBX! Sauce, cheese and dough all taste just right. They sell SLICES which is a true sign of a pizza parlor along with a simple menu (pizza, subs, pasta) and booth seating. Loved it. I have two minor complaints...why not trust the customers with a true large pie? (The size that they use for slices.) If they don't have big enough boxes for some reason, make it an eat-in special only. They've come so far to be a true Jersey style place...serve a Jersey size pie! 2nd, we came at lunch, place was packed, and there was 1 waitress who was a touch rude. If she can't keep up with tables just let us order at the counter and have a food runner bring it out, or call us up. It wasn't a big deal, and I can see how people hanging out would like table service for beer. All in all, I think Corolla Pizza is a bit more of an authentic NY/NJ style pie in flavor and you'll walk in to see pizza ovens and a guy tossing dough. We are spending our last week in Duck and are finding the restaurant offerings meager. They are either $$$/$$$$ or poorly rated or both. It is a strange community. We have five more days to try a few places, but I can see us driving back south or potentially trying Corolla. For our first night we drove the short but extremely slow distance back to Southern Shores simply because Cosmo's is much better rated than Waves or Pizzazz or any other pizza place close by. Cosmo's made us a pretty good pizza. We ordered our usual, sausage, olive (black since no green olives or Kalamatas were offered) and this time we added extra cheese. This was much better quality cheese than we had at Slice. The sausage is sliced links as it has been at Café Franco and Slice. It was not extremely well flavored, but OK. The sauce was very good, it was not over-applied, not sweet, not heavy or pasty and not over loaded with garlic. We liked this pizza with a few reservations. I rated this one a solid three stars. To add stars they need better flavored bulk style sausage (more fennel) and briny olives, either green or Kalamata. Also needed is a crisper crust, but I am not sure about that yet. Since we carried-out, we may have been responsible for the soggy crust, however, this pizza was made so fast for us that we wondered about it being pre-made or half baked ahead of time.
