    Cheese Bread

Great food, they were open unlike the other pizza plays who's times were incorrect, pizza was super yummy, great wings and amazing cheese bread. Love the service.

If you are looking for the best pizza the OBX has to offer then stop looking and go to Cosmo's. I'm a pizza connoisseur and this is hands down some of the best za I have ever consumed. Barstool needs to visit and so do each of you reading my review!

    Pizza Bed

This is my go-to place to order from. They some of the best pizza, great crust and amazing flavor. Wonderful staff, cute spot, and the empty pizza boxes are my cat's favorite place to nap. Thank you guys!!

    Antipasto salad

This restaurant is cozy and has the best Italian food! Adrianna was our waitress and she suggested to order the pizza because it is her favorite. We started with the Antipasto salad and it was fresh and delicious. We chose the ranch and Italian dressing on the side. Both dressing were delicious. We ordered both the supreme pizza and sausage and pepperoni pizza. The sauce to topping ratio was perfect and the crust was crisp perfectly!

Ordered the Philly cheesesteak pizza and it was ready about an hour later, cost about $20 for a medium, it was good, barely taste the banana peppers and it was greasy. Overall it was okay, still looking for a good pizza place in the OBX...

Friendly staff with awesome pizzas. Pizzas have a good amount of toppings and are always hot and fresh.

Pizza was great. Light chewy crust, pizza sauce had good flavor. Would get it again! We got the Margherita pizza and a cheese pizza.

Fantastic pizza- inexpensive large and delicious. Seemed to be the place locals hit for pizza, not just another tourist trap.

It has always been good, and we definitely won't let this deter us from returning. Ms T had her usual Shrimp basket lunch. The issue was that the shrimp were not cooked through. They were still translucent. We totally understand not wanting to overcook shrimp, but these were not quite done. On the bright side she commented on how good the slaw was. I have been on a kick to try barbecue at restaurants that are not barbecue joints per se, to see if I can find some hidden gems. For example, both Sam & Omie's and Wanchese Marina serve a good barbecue sandwich. Black Pelican, at least on this day, does not. I must say, the serving was huge. This was more than enough for two meals for me. The barbecue was dry and not well flavored. The texture and flavor was more like dried out beef that has been over-roasted. This is not something I would order again here. All that being said, I am leaving the rating for Black Pelican as it is because we have always had good meals here. I accept that it can't be 100% perfect every time and sooner or later we will run into something that is less than stellar. We will continue to return. I just know this not where I will have barbecue and we are sure the shrimp thing was just a one timer.

This was one of the few places that when we called around, didn't have a crazy long wait time so we ended up going here for dinner. The risotto was really good! The flavors were excellent and the seafood tasty. The portions were decent and I can see why it's one of their best selling dishes. I would totally get this again. The woodfired pizza was good but nothing to rave about. I got the Aloha one with pineapples, chicken, scallions and a white sauce. We got the bruschetta as an appetizer and that was really good - it also came out pretty fast. The rest of the food took a while to come out. The service was also not very fast. I might recommend this place from an ambience and historical perspective and maybe the food, but definitely not the service.

"Fast, convenient, good takeout Italian sandwiches, entrees, and more"…read more Punchline-- pass on the sandwiches (tasty but not big) and go for the entrees (giant and similarly priced) We ordered some takeout from this place based on positive Yelp reviews. Fortunately, Yelp came through for us! Note, although some things mention that you can eat in, at the time of this review, there were no visible tables inside-- it seemed to be a takeout only operation. Also, some of the online menus are now wrong-- they list all the meals and sandwiches as coming with a drink included, but they do not do so any longer. We opted for sandwiches and dishes, but they do have some desserts too-- we didn't partake this time. Service: very friendly, both when ordering and during pickup. They also warned us as we ordered about the menu/ drink change mentioned above, which helped prevent any unpleasant surprises. Food: Two of us got sandwiches and two got meals. Mozzarella caprese & Italian cheesesteak sandwiches -- both very good. Each came with a side of chips. But my family members who got these finished their food for dinner and found themselves still hungry. Note, these sandwiches cost $14. Lasagna & eggplant parmigiana -- These came with garden salads (though you could opt for bread for the eggplant parm). GIANT. It was a vat of food. I will say that a lot of the weight was the delicious tomato sauce, so there's a reason to consider getting bread. But even still-- I didn't finish my meal, nor did the other person who ordered one. These cost $16-17. Quite a contrast to the folks who ordered the sandwiches. Synopsis: Go for the entrees. WAY better value. And worth hitting up this place more generally for takeout if you want a break from seafood.
