Stopped by cause it looks very cool from outside. LOVE the mural of tigers. Ordered s chai tea latte specifically asked if there was sugar and was told I can add my own over there. Ordered a cold almond milk latte that was fine. However I was very surprised to see my chai tea was made from a carton mix called chai tea- something of other. WAYYYYYY too sweet. Debated on whether to just not drink and not say anything- girls weren't too friendly. Then my friend d said to go exchange- not a bigger. Was apologetic, asked for something else told girl that I didn't know it was made from a mix. She didn't seem thrilled-- not great customer service but gorgeous place! Coffee and Wine go together! This shared space really works. We stopped in to get out of the rain and have some coffee and tea at Sleeping Tiger.  The space is very open and clean. The coffee and pastries were great.  The tables are pretty much all high (it would be nice to have a couple more standard seating options (we had our 5 year old climbing up and down the stool chair which caused some drink splashes all around).  Since we were enjoying the space (and the rain continued outside) we decided to try some wine from the Witch Creek. read more

As a barista in Portland I always look for the best shops whenever I travel. Thanks to a friends suggestions I found Sleeping Tiger. As soon as I walked in the door I was warmly greeted by both the baristas behind the bar. After taking our order the baristas and I talked coffee and they gave me a list of suggestions for other great shops in San Diego. Marco and his coworker (who's name I didn't get) were extremely kind and genuine. The coffee was also top notch, I ordered a machiatto that was pleasant and we'll balanced. We also ordered a latte and a mocha, all of the drinks were phenomenal. Will definitely stop by if I'm ever in the area again. read more

Cute boutique place, also sells award winning wine. Only problem was that they bottle their wine right in the coffee shop, making it an unpleasant atmosphere and hard to have any sort of conversation. However the coffee itself was good, served in mugs (no waste) and good tasting pastries. read more

I love this place. Besides the coffee being delicious, the place is beautifully decorated and has a quaint little outdoor seating area out back. I'm about to say something that is going to seem negative, but really it's not. Recently, I went to get some coffee and the line was long. Unfortunately, there was only one person behind the counter- responsible for the register and making the orders. This was the only time I've ever seen this, and it's probably COVID-related. This barista was super friendly and she was quick considering all of the duties she was responsible for. I heard some people complaining in the line, and I had no problem calling them out and saying, "I think you guys can wait a bit longer for your coffee considering the circumstances right now." I mean, seriously, your privilege is showing. So if anyone marks this place down for long waits during this health crisis, then you can go next door and get the crappy coffee at Starbucks. In the meantime, I'll be supporting amazing small businesses that are struggling during this time. read more

Friendly staff, great cocoa, beautiful atmosphere. It would be better if there was more room - especially if there was an area just for kids. As it is the coffee & tea bar is on one side and on the opposite wall is a winery. Kids are welcome to come in, but there's nothing for them to do but sit. They can't really run around and play. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. I ordered a 12 oz. almond milk vanilla latte and the girl who served me about 5 minutes ago, I didn't get her name unfortunately, OVERCHARGED me for a 16 oz. coffee, put in heavy cream instead of almond milk and over sweetened the coffee. This is not acceptable customer service and I will surely never be coming back here, I will just go next door to Starbucks where I know the service will actually give me the coffee that I would like. You guys suck and I really didn't appreciate the back talk from the girl that served me as well. Please get your employees under control. Thanks. read more

Very good coffee, spotty service. The barista this morning was working her tail off, but the girl at the register kept making mistakes. The result was a 45 minute wait for two coffees. It was a little busy, but not 45 minutes for two coffees busy. Several orders were apparently entered and prepared wrong. There is this lovely place in Austin that sells coffee, beer and tacos. That enables "laptop people" to spend their entire day in one place, spending (too much) money all day. She's rude to me and other customers. She's never said thank you or is friendly and I've seen other customers shocked by her as well. In my experience with speciality coffee shops you have to check the bitterness to see if you like the way they roast their beans. I haven't had bad coffee here yet! Sleeping Tiger has wonderful ambiance and excellent coffee. They share their space with Witchcreek Winery (which I also love). There's lots of high-top tables, you can sit at the bar, and there's also an outside patio. They're just a few minutes from the beach, and they're dog friendly. It has warm lighting and fairy lights, and even a piano! It's nice and dressed up for the holidays right now too. They have live music in the evenings sometimes. In the mornings it can be a nice place to do some work or study. Their lattes and chai/dirty chai lattes are delicious. And they always do beautiful latte art. They have great pour-over. My husband loves trying coffees with different flavor profiles and he's really enjoyed some of the cups he's had here. There was a pour over with blueberry notes that was stellar. They make their own syrups in-house for their espresso drinks. They have everything from the typical almond, caramel, hazelnut, vanilla syrups to cardamom, lavender, and candied yam! I'm definitely trying a candied yam cappuccino the next time I'm in. They also carry various pastries from a local bakery. read more

Barista was very professional and there were plenty of things to look at being that this is shared space with a wine tasting bar. The staff is knowledgable about coffees and the simple coffees are really great. I've given this place 5 tries - and each time has been different. First time the coffee was sub par, second time I loved the coffee and the service - however, the last three times I've disliked both. There are a lot of choices for coffee in the area and I believe this place needs to try harder to compete in a marketplace flush with good to great coffee. The final straw was their frequent customer program. The card says you get a stamp for each coffee you buy - I purchased two and received only one stamp. I asked for clarification and the young lady said that a stamp was only good for each transaction - she offered to put a stamp on another card which I thought was unacceptable. If you want to play roulette with the quality of coffee and/or service come to this place, otherwise there are plenty of other options close by. read more

We came in around the holidays, just now getting a chance to write a review. The coffee we ordered was good. Noting special, but a perfectly fine cup of coffee. The barista? Holy cow, I don't think I have ever experienced such rude service before in my life. She was incredibly hostile. Dare I say, aggressive? We ended up leaving immediately after our order was ready b/c she made us feel so uncomfortable. We will most definitely not be back. Which is a shame because the location is prime.
