My first visit, and it was Stellar. I had an appointment a month away but asked if there were any openings sooner to please add me to the waitlist. The next day they told me they had an opening and I was able to go at the open time slots. Everything done via text. Very efficient. The entire staff was great. I got X-rays and a cleaning. They kept checking in to see if I was ok, and if I'm doing good. They even allow you to put on anything you want on Netflix if you want. Never had a dentist offer that haha The cleaning went great. Fast, and pain free. I've had some pretty rough cleanings before, this was as pleasant as it could be. I am coming back in to get a new retainer. And before I left they gave me an estimate of how much it would cost and they put me on the calendar for the return visit. read more

My second time at this dental office was just as great at the first! They were very accommodating and transparent about the work I was getting done. Dr. Shah made sure to check my insurance before offering any services and showed me the breakdown before I agreed to proceed. She also offered an exam and cleaning service even though I was only scheduled to do one filling. I can't believe I haven't written a review for Skyline Smiles! I've been coming to the west loop location consistently since 2019, with the exception that I've gone to their Roscoe Village location one time. Before becoming a patient here, I really hated going to the dentist (because of prior traumatic experiences). Skyline has really changed that viewpoint. I'm not saying I love going to the dentist by any means, but the hygienists and dentists here make me feel so incredibly comfortable. I make sure to let them know any area of sensitivity and instead of dismissing me, they make sure to be more gentle or to ask how I'm doing during the cleaning or exam. Another thing about Skyline is that I truly trust their professional opinion. I never feel pressured to get unnecessary treatments or feel like I'm being upsold. I don't know what more to say about a dental office when you've moved out of Chicago, yet you still fly in to see ONLY this team! Dr. Ned and his staff are some of the best and we literally travel from NYC, to the suburbs of Illinois, to downtown Chicago twice a year! I would most definitely come more often if I could. After going to this dentist for many years I will now need to switch to a different one after a very upsetting experience. A hygenist took a very quick look at my teeth and said I had to see a specialist right away because of "recession" and implied I was an idiot for not knowing what this was or seeing a specialist sooner. The issue she was referring to has been long-known by the actual dentist, does not require consultation by a specialist, and certainly is not my fault as she wanted me to believe. I left in tears and they literally did not care. This is why people hate the dentist. Very very disappointing and annoying to now have to start the process over with finding a decent dentist with non-evil hygenists. read more

I was very worried going to the dentist since it had been many years since I have last seen one, let alone during COVID. I felt very safe in the office and everyone was incredibly kind. The person who cleaned my teeth (I believe her name is Leatrice) was truly phenomenal. She knew I was incredibly nervous and consistently made sure I felt okay whilst explaining what she was doing. Dr. Ned is a remarkable professional who combines expertise with genuine care for their patients. His attention to detail and commitment to perfection is evident in his work. Unfortunately convenience doesn't always equal quality. I went in for a simple filling and left with a tooth that shortly thereafter started to hurt. After seeking a new dentist I found out they only treated one cavity on one surface but charged my insurance company for two. In order fix the tooth properly and access the other cavity the skyline smiles filling had to be removed and redone. Because Skyline got paid by my insurance company the dentistry I had to get done to ultimately fix the tooth came out of my pocket . I would not recommend Skyline Smiles . read more

I'm not really a fan of going to the dentist...and this was hands down the best experience I've had in years. The hygienist Nirali was great - thorough, quick, professional. Cleaning was painless as these things can be. checkin staff was professional. Dentist was great too [admittedly only saw her for about 3 minutes]. points for punctuality too. Netflix was a nice touch. [I mean who doesn't want to watch Great British Bake-off while getting your teeth cleaned] Place was spotless. Felt safe with COVID protocols. Dr. Bajaj gave me the best counseling about my tooth issue that I've ever had. Despite frequent checkups elsewhere I was never told that I wore away my enamel due to grinding. I received education with photos of my teeth. I am getting custom night guards now and hopefully can prevent complications down the road. read more

To those with sensitive teeth: Skyline offers a laser treatment that has literally changed my life. My teeth were extremely sensitive. I couldn't handle cold, hot, air, or metal. I tried the laser on my last visit and I could eat ice cream with my teeth for the first time in my life. This treatment also allowed my teeth to be cleaned without pain. I've been going to Skyline Smiles for over 2 years and have only had about 6 visits for routine cleanings. I wanted to write review to recognize Nicole, an excellent dental hygienist! She seemed to be very through with the cleaning, but what I appreciated most was how thoughtful and smart she was. She explained everything she was doing very clearly and without prompting. I also appreciated the way she counseled me on how to get the most of of flossing and brushing my teeth. She was nice, patient, and helpful. As soon as I got dental insurance, I knew I wanted Invisalign. My wisdom tooth made my teeth crowded in the front and I wanted to fix that. My friend was already getting Invisalign and highly recommended her dentist because of their customer service and prices so I thought why not? My Invisalign plan was originally for 9-10 months but it's been over a year. Why? It's not the way I wanted it and Dr. Ned understood my concerns and has been trying different methods to get me the result I want. He's just as picky as I am! But in the meantime, I've been here for regular and deep cleanings. They have monitors so you can watch Netflix while you're getting worked on. I've been pretty happy with everything, especially their service. Shout out to their office manager, Christina for her amazing patience and understanding when I fumble around trying to describe my dental issue. The entire experience from making an appointment to the actual cleaning was flawless and seamless. Ellie, my hygenist, was great. She walked me through everything she was doing and confirmed I'd be ok with the toothpaste flavor she'd be using. Dr. Patel is what you hope for in a dentist. She was incredibly patient with my neverending questions (I have some movement with my teeth) and was thorough in explaining my options. I never felt rushed through the appointment. I've been coming to Skyline Smiles for 5+ years and just got around to writing a review. Dr. Ned & his team have been fantastic with my annual cleanings/exams, as well as recently doing Invisalign braces to fix a gap in my teeth and painful crowding. Their office is modern and has state of the art dental technology and the most modern tools of dentistry. I also really appreciate being able to watch Netflix on the overhead TV's during my procedures. A few years ago I moved out of state and a dentist filled my cavities with unsightly silver that was visible from the front and looked terrible. I was very self conscious about my smile. Last year Dr. Ned safely removed and replaced them with standard white fillings. My teeth look amazing. And finally, I can tell Dr. Ned is thoughtful about who he hires on his staff. Christina & everyone on the front desk staff is incredibly caring, kind, and accommodating; his colleague Dr. Eric (I forgot his last name) as well as all of the dental hygienists are very knowledgeable, warm, and reassuring - which is so important for patients who have any anxiety about dental procedures. I referred a friend who ended up going to their Roscoe Village location and felt similarly about the experience there. So to start off with, Dr. Ned (short for Neduvelil) is a dental rock star. A tooth star. At the tender young age of 39 I discovered that the pain that had started to radiate through the right half of my face was emanating from what amounted to a self-destructing tooth. Dr. Ned explained to me how this happens (aggressive orthodontics as a kiddo followed by a small bit of trauma later in life, stupid cavity...done by another dentist far, far away for the record) and delivered the unfortunate news that the tooth simply had to go. But in a soothing, warm way that made me feel okay about this tragic event. Me, just a young buck with what I thought were a set of teeth that would take me well into my 100's...yes, I'm an optimist. That said, the procedure was quick and relatively painless, especially considering he/we discovered that my tooth had literally fused itself to my bone (or the other way around...can't say for a sure, obviously I'm not a dentist) so took a little extra work. With care and some deft maneuvering, he popped that sucker out, gracefully implanted the membrane, sutured it up like a master tailor, and had me out of the chair with ease. Explained to me the process for recovery, and walked me through the medications I had been prescribed, and away I went. Quick and easy (very much unlike my college loans, ouch). Add to this, the staff at Skyline Smiles was also top notch. I felt like family from the moment I walked in. Smiles and warm greetings, highly accommodating, easy conversation. I might start making up fake tooth or gum pain just to come back and see everyone. Okay, just kidding about that part, but I'm sure they'd welcome me all the same. So now I have to go back in a few weeks to make sure the sutures did their job and get them removed, then another appointment a few months later to get the cap/crown put in. (In case you were ever curious the whole process, may you never have to go through it.) And while I can't say I'm excited to have to go see the dentist again for more work, I will say I'm at least happy it's with Dr. Ned and the Skyline Smiles staff. They'll have my business for as long as I'm still in Chicago. read more

Wide variability in dental hygienist skill. I had a good experience for 2 of my 3 visits. The third visit, unfortunately, was a completely different story. During a regular cleaning with no issues or sensitivity ahead of time, the hygienist was picking much more firmly than usual at the surface of my molars. In one tooth she found just the "right" angle and managed to dig out a composite filling that was only a couple of years old and fully secure beforehand. She continued the cleaning like nothing happened until I asked what occurred because I could feel it was something significant. She acknowledged that a filling came out and said it happens at times, dismissing it like it was business as usual, and then continued on with small talk. After the cleaning I was asked if I wanted to replace the filing that was ripped out, which I did of course. Numbed up with novocaine upon replacing the filling, I went to check-out. There I found the filling expense on the bill, which I thought was strange given that the proximate cause of needing the filling was the hygienist's roughness; however, I had little energy left to dispute the charges and needed to get back to work. I figured I would wait to see what insurance covered. It turns out I was left with a significant ($100+) out of pocket expense for the experience of getting a perfectly fine filling ripped out and then filled in again. This was December 2019, so hopefully they have improved since. read more

Great dentist office! I brought my 6 year old daughter her for her yearly teeth cleaning and check up and everything went seamless. My daughter was at ease with the technician, she was comfortable with the entire process and it didn't take a long time. The check in process went smooth as well for all the paperwork is electronic and done on an ipad versus paper, which is really high tech. The best part is after my daughter was done she was able to pick a toy out of the treasure chest, which she was over the moon about. I will bring her back. I really like a dental office that caters to kids as well as adults because little people teeth are important too! read more

From Christina, who works in the front office, to Nerali the hygienist, to Dr Ned, the chillest dentist I've ever had, this place is the best. I really liked this office initially. It's a modern office and everyone is professional/ nice. I came here often for any dental work and cleanings. The last time I went for my cleaning in 2018. I was told one of my fillings had to be replaced. I made a followup appointment to get the work completed before I moved to another state to avoid having to find another office I liked. I came back September 2018 to get this filling replaced by Dr.Marri. I was told any discomfort at first was normal but if it doesn't improve come back. I had some pressure sensitivity on that tooth and had it adjusted quickly before I moved. I continued to have issues with this tooth and had no choice but to have another dentist try to resolve the issue. The next dentist adjusted the tooth filling 3 times. The only further treatment I was recommended was a root canal. I resorted to not eating on the left side of my mouth for 2 years. I finally got sick of it and went to have the filling replaced by yet another dentist with the hope I would have any sensitivity to pressure/temperatures etc. It DIDN'T work. I finally went to an endodontist and HE FOUND A CRACK IN MY TOOTH! He had to really zoom in but he found it. I had no previous issues with this tooth until I saw Dr.Marri. I finally can eat on that tooth again after over 2 years by having a Crown placed over it to hold the tooth together. I guess the only good part of this story is I avoided a root canal. I've shelled out thousands of dollars since Sept 2018 on this SAME tooth due to this. Just watch who you let handle your teeth. You only get one set. read more

Friendly receptionist? Check..Getting to watch Netflix while getting work done? Check..Tiny pen cameras that show you your teeth real-time? Check. This place is loaded with gadgets that make your visit comfortable and not so terrifying. I saw Dr. Deepak. He's young, energetic, funny, and talks to you with respect. He gives you the 411 and makes sure you completely understand. He also doesn't chide you like other doctors. I've had my share of terrible dentists and I'm happy to say my visit was really great. As for insurance, they take most Dental PPO plans. I would say my estimate on work was reasonable. Today I had an extremely deep cleaning and cavities filled. Dr. Deepak was extremely gentle and made sure not to hurt me. He used a cool technique when giving novocaine where he slowly put the medicine and rubbed the area around to avoid the pinching. He takes pride in his work and now my teeth look beautiful. read more

I've been going to Skyline Smiles for my Invisalign, tooth implant, and general dental maintenance for the past couple of years now. As a highly anxious patient, both Dr. Neduvelil and Dr. Worth have been incredibly patient and understanding of my apprehension during my visits. At the start of my teeth-straightening journey, we had some challenges due to a very stubborn tooth of mine. Dr. Ned was thorough in explaining their plan of action to me, answering all my questions, and reassuring me when I was concerned about the state of my teeth. I really appreciated his diligence and positive attitude, which put me at ease during the process. Truly, his warmth and positivity is infectious! I couldn't have asked for a better dentist. When Dr. Worth performed my dental implant procedure, he had done so with such swiftness and efficiency. I swear, I felt like a child at the doctors office that had gotten tricked into get a shot without even knowing it. Not to mention, the recovery was virtually painless. I also want to mention Sam, my hygienist, whose warmth and calm demeanor has made my cleaning visits some of the most pleasant experiences. I had a terrible experience at the West Loop office with Dr. Marri. I was seen for basic cavity fillings, which are not new to me, that resulted in hitting a nerve (which I painfully felt during the procedure) causing serious and scary side effects that have yet to subside a week+ later. It is unclear if these side effects will ever go away. A second consultation by Dr. Ned provided no clear solution as well. I do not recommend. read more

Let me preface by saying that I have been to many dentists in my lifetime, and I know quality care when I see it. I came in because my crown was coming out and I needed it to be recemented. Skyline smiles is a very clean facility. Upon getting in, you are greeted with warm welcomes which alleviated the anxiety you get from being in a dentist office. I was led to the exam rooms by JJ. The exam rooms are clean and they've really thought of the patient when building it. Each space has a television in which you could watch your Netflix show while they operate. Brilliant! Immediately, I felt at ease by just speaking with both JJ and Dr. Worth. All the staff are very knowledgeable and listened to all my concerns. In the short time we met, we were able to develop a plan of care for my teeth. Dr. Worth is personable, yet professional and I would definitely recommend him and skyline smiles to anyone looking for a dentist. read more

This is my second time visiting Skyline. I happened to come across it while searching for a dentist on Yelp. It had great reviews so I figured why not? I had an appointment for a regular cleaning. The staff was nice and assisted me the moment I walked in. I was a few minutes early to my appointment but was called back pretty quickly. My dental hygienist was nice, thorough and quick. Overall, this place is great. I was in and out within 30 minutes. My only "complaint" was the mandatory x-rays that I was told I had to get done. I figured x-rays every six months is a bit too much, since I never had them done this often with my dentist back in Houston. I had x-rays done my first visit with Skyline six months prior. Not sure how I feel having them done every six months, or why it is necessary. read more

I have been coming to Skyline Smiles for almost 10 years. In the last few years I have been seeing Dr Mari and it's been fine until September when I needed to get a lower baby tooth pulled and a bridge put in. There was zero communication to me on what to expect. To the point where they literally were about to start the procedure to pull my tooth and I told them I didn't have a clue what was about to happen. They stopped and made the billing department come over and made me sign a release. And then rushed through an explanation on "oh we are shaving your teeth down so nothing shifts and we will put a temp bridge in and then a normal one." Why wasn't this done without me telling them I have no idea what's about to happen? And also, super cold and rushed explanation. Anyway. The temp bridge was horrible and uncomfortable which I was told by Dr Mari is normal. Okay fine. But then the real one came in and it never fit right. There is a giant space between my gums where food gets stuck every time, I can never chew on that side and have to clean it out after everything I eat. It's also not far enough down to the gum line so everything that I drink that's remotely cold or hot hurts. They say it's not loose but it certainly feels that way. I have been back 3 times with these concerns and she tells me "everything looks normal." And makes me feel like I'm crazy for telling her this is not right. Even her assistant Carlos told me "yea that looks super uncomfortable and I am sure we will need to do something to fix it." Then she comes in that same day after he says that and says "yea we can redo it but it's probably always going to be uncomfortable for you. And you can go get a second opinion." I paid almost $1200 out of pocket for this bridge. And not to mention - I have another bridge in my mouth that hasn't bothered me once in the over 20 years I've had it. So I know this one is not right. I will be going to another dentist from here on out. And if you need bridge work done - I would stay far away from this place and Dr Mari. Disorganized secretarial team (I get reminders for appointment at the wrong time, or that had already been rescheduled), a sloppy tech who installed my Invisalign, I keep being offered conflicting information from various staff members, and they overlooked a button that needed to be applied which would have set my treatment back weeks had I not caught it myself. My wife's cavities were also not done well, have created discomfort and food traps. read more

As I'm sitting here recovering from my wisdom teeth procedure today, I can't thank Dr. Ned, Christina, Dennis, & the whole West Loop Skyline team ENOUGH! I have extremely high anxiety when it comes to getting dental work done (probably because it's been a crap year for me in regards to teeth issues) so knowing I had to get a wisdom tooth pulled was freaking me out. First, the gorgeous manager, Christina, indulged me for about 40 minutes last week after my consultation when I found out I had to get my wisdom tooth out and made sure to reassure me. She is the kindest and such a gem for the whole Skyline team. After calling multiple times with questions (sorry guys) Dennis always understood my nervous & sometimes crazy ways(haha!)---he's a special one and yet another gem to the Skyline team! Dr. Ned was incredible. His kind yet hilarious personality is so appreciated and needed in stressful times like getting an extraction done. Also, his dental assistant (I am blanking on his name and feel terrible about that because he was AMAZING) was so so so kind & reassured me as much as he could. He also let me squeeze the hell out of his arm when I needed to. :) All in all, they pretty much cure my dental fears every time I am in. Not to mention, the extremely competitive prices with or without insurance. Thank you so much to the West Loop Skyline Smiles team! Y'all are amazing and I appreciate you like crazy. I have been a few times since moving to the neighborhood for basic cleanings, a repair of a broken retainer and a mouth guard- each has been a bad experience and I would not recommend going here. For some reason if you have a cleaning they will not floss your teach if you have a permanent retainer (happened both times). The items I had made here are already breaking somehow and this was from this year. And the kicker- I just received a bill for a cleaning I had done mid year- which is a service covered in full by my insurance! And if they were going to send me a bill why did they wait until the following year- my dental fsa for 2019 has expired and cannot he used. Avoid this place. read more
