I had an appointment today for a cleaning and filling and it couldn't of gone better! Dr. Tanya was gentle and quick, I was able to get in and hour within my lunch hour. I've always felt like Dental offices will recommend unnecessary procedures and thankfully I felt comfortable and not at all pressured here at Setty Dental. Dr. Tanya gave me some products to take home as well to keep up with my dental routine. I would highly recommend Dr. Tanya, her and her team make going to the dentist a lot less intimidating. Dr. Setty is the best dentist I've ever had, and if you try her you'd sure agree. She knows how to handle people who are afraid of the dentist chair so don't worry if you've been evading your appointments she's nice and will walk you through everything she's doing. The prices are affordable for a dentist in the financial district of downtown Chicago. The office is clean, big enough for multiple dentists to work for her and no one has a long wait. I've gone to appointments at previous dentist offices where there were unnecessarily long waits but Dr. Setty and her dentist do not overbook their time slots. Most of the business if not all is by appointment only and they have two people handling the desk at once so things are never disorganized. It's a great place to go! read more

At the office a couple of weeks ago, people were sharing their dentist horror stories. Between sitting under water-stained ceilings and being up-sold on expensive procedures, I was happy that I had Yelp to point me toward Dr. Setty. Being only a 10 minute walk from my home or my office downtown is quite convenient, and just today I had an appointment that I scheduled yesterday! Okay, maybe I was really lucky to get a spot like that right before the holidays, but beats getting pushed back week after week. I'm pretty comfortable at any dentist, but Dr. Setty makes sure everything's going well each step of the way. She also reads body language pretty well and can tell if you need to rinse or spit - pretty handy when your mouth is full of hoses and picks. I've been coming to Dr. Setty for several years now and have always been happy with my experience. I like that Dr. Setty tells you where you have problem areas and how we can beef it up without jumping to a filling right away. She is always so sweet and personable, and most importantly, takes pride in her work. There have been times when she was not happy with her work and redid it, even though it didn't really bother me. The dental hygienists are also very good and take their time. Last year, I was pregnant and everyone was always so considerate of meds I could or could not given. I appreciate the attention. I've also come in for emergencies on a few occasions. Their office is very busy, but I've always been able to get squeezed in within 36 hours or so. That is a life saver! Oh also- one time I had a shallow filling and Dr. Setty said she didn't think I'd need anesthesia for it. Well, after a few minutes, I couldn't bear it anymore but she said she thought we only had a few seconds more. She counted down the seconds and coached me through it. I've been going to Setty Dental for almost two decades, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They're offices are close to my work and the train, and the staff is great. Margaret is my favorite hygienist. I see Dr. Jeff at the downtown Chicago office. He is the most knowledgeable, respectful and honest dentist I have ever visited! When I first came to the office he was able to identify an improperly placed crown I had done several years earlier while living in Houston. He took the time to clearly show me the issue on the x-ray and then his staff worked diligently with insurance to have it replaced. Well not a few weeks later, and the crown actually come out while I was eating almonds. Proof that he knew what he was talking about! The office was able to get me in that day to start the replacement process. Throughout the replacement he explained each step and stayed very aware of my pain tolerance. His professionalism and the office staff made the whole process easier than I could have hoped for! In all my 30 years visiting a dentist, Dr. Lowe gets the All-Star Award for me as THE BEST ever. Went in for a minor concern, but she took the time to thoroughly examine and educate me on all the probable causes, which seemed like basic facts that I would have hoped prior dentists would have informed me of but never did. Didn't feel like just another "number" being pushed through "the machine" but really cared for and educated. I'm recommending her to all my co-workers and hope she continues her standards of excellence for years to come. As soon as I got a job with good dental insurance, i couldn't wait to see the dentist (crazy right?) The last few I had been to were terrible (including one who tried to con my insurance company and sliced my cheek while doing a filling). Since I was cautious about choosing a dentist, i took me three months to find one. I finally went with the dentist that practically my entire company goes to...Dr. Priya Setty. I called to make an appointment, and was able to schedule an 8AM appt before work within a week of time. Once there I was greeted warmly by the receptionists and the dental hygienist. When Dr. Setty came in for my exam she was sweet and genuine. After telling her about a procedure another dentist had recommended for me, she dismissed it and recommended an even better one for half the price. Dr. Lowe is simply amazing well beyond dentistry. I decided to think outside the box and trying to find a local (from work) dentist with great reviews on Yelp to replace my current sub par dentist. I quickly found Dr. Morgan Lowe. She was very professional and super friendly for each of my two visits. I love being able to walk a few blocks from the office at lunch as well. I'm giving this place an easy 5 stars because they went above and beyond on a misunderstanding I had with their receptionist and my insurer. I proactively asked if a sports guard would be fully covered with my insurer before having it made. I was told it would be but found out later it was not. In the end, with out hesitation, Dr. Lowe said they would cover the cost of the mouth guard trusting that I was telling the truth even though she didn't have to. It was probably an honest mistake, but regardless, they sided with me in the end. This place has me as a customer for life now and I highly recommend them to friends based on them living up to their highly regarded reputation on yelp and my own personal experiences. It is refreshing to see places of business like this that put customers first. Not surprising, given that Dr. Lowe is is the one of the main reasons why. read more

When I moved to the city, I sought a referral to what I explained to a friend as "the best" dentist in the loop. Dr. Setty, without a doubt, is one of the most brilliant, competent, friendly and down-to-earth medical professionals I've ever dealt with in my life. Everything from her staff to the modern appearance of the office is appealing to me. I've been lucky enough to have great dentists in my life, but Dr. Setty takes the cake. She explains each step of the procedure, debunks "dental myths", is attentive to body language (spitting, discomfort, etc) and is always available for questions. One word to the wise - the office does not "play" with appointments. Show up to your appointment on time or give them ample notice for a cancellation. They're very flexible, but have lots of patients to juggle. For their good work, I think any mature client can give that respect to this great group of folks. She is super nice, attentive, thorough and will not do any extra work that doesn't need to be done (she tried saving my tooth via filling instead of forcing me to get a root canal and a crown, which I am sure was a lot more profitable - all the other dentists said the cavity was too large...) I was so happy to find her and now even more upset to know that she will be leaving this office, which happens to be semi-close to my work. Dr. Lowe is phenomenal! (And all the many other great adjectives she's been given in prior reviews) Just got back from my appointment, mouth still numb, and couldn't be happier I switched dentists. My prior dentist had me scheduled for 3 fillings for 2 appointments, where I completed 1 of them but decided things just weren't working out. Enter Dr. Lowe, who on my first appointment (which I thought would just be an assessment/workup) expertly filled my other 2 teeth. The difference between dentists was night and day. She made sure I was completely numb and frequently checked everything was great, which is great because apparently my nerves are pretty ridiculous. She also made sure to explain everything in detail, things my other dentist left me wondering about. The end result looks perfect, I can't even tell there's a filling! The other dentist's filling looked painfully obvious. Now I'm just left with sadness as I'll probably be moving out of the city this summer. I have to echo other comments. Dr. Lowe is one of the best dentists I've ever been to. I will say, it was difficult to get an initial appt (I think the soonest they had was for a month and a half after I called), but once I had an appt, they were very flexible about letting me change it without issue when I had a meeting come up. When Dr. Lowe first introduced herself to me, you could immediately tell she was a genuinely nice person. She is one of the first doctors I've been to that went through each line of the new patient sheet that I filled out and asked me questions about everything. She walked through every step of what she was doing and why (they do a gum check where she says a million numbers in a row - she went through what each meant with me). I've always had a strong distrust and distaste for dentists, so when a few colleagues recommended Dr. Setty about a year ago I was reluctant but went ahead and booked the appointment. Turned out I need more work done on my pearly whites than I had thought (due to previous dentists not doing their job correctly... hence the distrust), so I got the chance to really see what she and her staff are all about. I was beyond pleasantly surprised with how quick and gentle she is and how courteous everyone else is. I continue to almost enjoy my visits to their office (almost). I have been going to Dr. Setty for almost 20 years and I can honestly say she is the best dentist I've ever met. In fact, I moved out of town for 6 years and would travel back to Chicago just to see her every 6 months. Here are some of the highlights for Setty dental group. 1. Dr. Setty doesn't encourage you to have procedures done or buy things that you don't need. She will give you options and never pressures you into anything. 2. When receiving fillings or any other procedure, she makes you feel comfortable through the entire experience and makes sure to ask how you're feeling the entire time including giving you the option to take breaks. 3. She is very friendly and actually cares about you as a person. 4. I know multiple people who have gone to her for years and that refuse to go anywhere else. Read the other Yelp reviews, they speak for themselves. 5. She will follow up with you after your procedure to see how things are going and will give you her personal number in case you need help or have questions after regular business hours. Who else does that in this day and age as a medical professional? 6. Her staff is great and acts the same way Dr. Setty does when it comes to "bedside manner". All friendly people that know going to the dentist isn't usually on most people's favorite thing to do list but make the experience as nice as possible. I've been to the office 3-4 times before and everything has gone off without a hitch. This morning, however, I arrived at my appointment on time at 9:30am and was told that I wasn't scheduled. I had called two days prior (Wed) for an appointment and was told that they had something available on Friday at 9:30am, otherwise the next available would be in February. Great timing, I'll take the 9:30 on Friday. I was told that this would be considered my confirmation and that was that. I show up and there is no record of anything in the system. I ended up taking a good hour and a half of out my work day to make my way down there just to have them tell me they don't know what happened. I probably won't be back. read more

Service / dental assistants are great. Front desk receptionists are great. Dr. Setty and Dr. Lau (who is no longer there) were also nice. So why two stars? The way they found ways to bill extra to their patients. Both my wife and I went to this office for about 2-3 yrs. Each time we had an appointment they would tell us they need to do "deep cleaning" - meaning we couldn't do it one appointment, but would have to come twice. This resulted in being billed four times a year. . Be careful with doctors and dentists who looks for ways to keep charging you. read more

I've been going to Setty Dental for years. This review is for the visit I just completed with Dr. Jeffrey Seredynski. I was really nervous having lost some filling material and bonding from my top two front teeth. Would new bonding look natural or would it be noticeable? Dr. Seredynski recommended new bonding before considering veneers. I am so grateful for his skill and attention to detail. The only thing people would notice is a bright, natural smile. Dr Setty has been my dentist for 12 years. She is extremely talented, patient, and takes her time to explain everything she does. She has done a TON of work on me and what I love is that she is always conservative in her treatments. I had a dentist who used to drill every tooth because he could (one dentist, isolated town of 3,000 in a mining area) and she fixed all his wreckage and tries to be conservative bs aggressive ie: "let's see if this crown holds before getting a root canal". Her staff is also amazing and friendly, from the front desk to her hygienists. Her office is nice, Bright, clean and well located. I can't say enough good things about her practice! Dr. Lowe is perfect; kind, gentle, attentive, and very good at what she does. Dr. Lowe was the one to actually clean my teeth--in the past at other offices, dental assistants have always done the "dirty" work (and pretty poorly, I might add). Dr. Lowe did a fantastic job and my teeth still feel and look amazing weeks later! On a side note, I chipped my front tooth when I was about 6 or 7 years old, and although it was minor cosmetic issue and I never minded it, Dr. Lowe mentioned getting it filled during my cleaning appointment with her. I decided to finally write a review because I just came back from the appointment for the filling today and woah! My front tooth is perfect now! Dr. Setty is one of the best dentists I've visited. I recently moved back to town and found her on Yelp. She is extremely personable and knowledgeable, and helped me with a problem I've had for years with a simple solution that no other dentist I've visited even considered. Her diagnosis and subsequent treatment was very effective and basically painless. The staff is first rate as well. You can tell she is a perfectionist. Everything they do in this office is incredibly thorough - from xrays to cleaning to fillings. She has treated me for minor dental issues (small cavities, etc.) and for more serious issues following an accident in which my front teeth were knocked out.
