I initially scheduled a visit with Dr. Choi for a second opinion, after another dental practice tried to upsell me and gave me a confusing, inconsistent treatment plan. From the start, Dr. Choi was transparent and kind. He reviewed my case thoroughly and explained that I did not need half the procedures the previous practice had quoted me for. He took the time to walk me through what truly needed to be done and made sure I understood everything clearly. One of the treatments I actually did need was a tooth extraction. I was very anxious because my prior dental experience had been painful and traumatic. However, with Dr. Choi, the experience was completely different, it was painless, quick, and seamless! The whole procedure took about 35 minutes, and I didn't feel any pain, not even during the anesthesia injection something that had terrified me before. Enamel Dental Studio is THE best dentist experience. Everything is well-thought out, modern, clean, and efficient. Once you check in, you are brought to your room to drop your stuff off, x-rays then are taken, then you're back to your room where Dr. Choi will come for your exam and to go through your x-rays, and then teeth cleaning and polishing (coupled with whatever Netflix show you want)! Dr. Choi is thorough, precise, with a healthy dose of pragmatism. He will always give you all the information, but never try to push anything you don't absolutely need. He also has a great memory and makes you feel like more than just another patient. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Choi. If you have severe Dental anxiety, my review will help you. I visited another dentist previously and was referred to a Periodontist. Things just didn't feel right to me. The dentist wasn't open with me about much and the Periodontist kept saying things like "I dont want to scare you". When you hear that, it makes you more scared!! The Periodontist ended up doing a deep cleaning on me but wouldn't give me my options of treatment plan. Very bizarre and I didn't trust to go back to him. Anyway, I contact Dr. Choi and he was very responsive. I explained my situation to him and he said he could help. I called and was able to get in right away for a consultation. It's scary to think that at 34 I have severe periodontal disease. I am an avid brusher, however I haven't been to the dentist in easily over 10 years (before my recent visit with Periodontist). Once my old dentist retired, I tried another one and had a TERRIBLE experience. After that, I was honestly too scared to ever go back. Well, my brushing wasn't enough and here I am dealing with something I shouldn't be dealing with. It's likely related to my hormones and is genetic, but people, don't be me and not go to the dentist if you're scared. Go to Dr. Choi. You need professional cleanings. Dr. Choi was kind, honest, straight forward and realistic. I truly didn't have anxiety in this appointment at all, and he delivered the worst news to me compared to the others. I found Enamel Dental in hopes that Dr. Choi would fix some of my botched procedures from my previous dentist and I am very pleased thus far! I can only speak about the cleaning, but I have a scheduled a filling and for my crown to be redone in November. My cleaning was painless and that's saying a lot for someone who has pretty sensitive teeth. Dr. Choi was very open and honest about costs (what insurance would and would not cover) and did not push a lengthy treatment plan. I've been hesitant to share the secret of Enamel Dental with the rest of Yelp, but I can't hold it in anymore. I LOVE Enamel Dental! Doctor Choi and his staff are honestly amazing and I won't go anywhere else while I live in Chicago :) Service wise this place is top notch. His staff is so friendly - they always make sure I'm comfortable and put on Netflix for me while I wait. Also whenever I have an appointment, I'm never waiting long. Even when they work me in, the wait is shorter than I expect. I rarely leave reviews, but I have to share my experience. I have a very bad dental anxiety, to the point where I get seizures when I am in the dentist chair. I had a few bad experiences with previous dentists, which made my anxiety even worse. I did a cleaning a week ago and today I went to get 2 fillings done with Dr.Choi. He was so attentive and professional. He listened to all my concerns and made sure I feel comfortable throughout the entire process. He fixed the fillings that my previous dentist did wrong. Zero pain, and my front tooth where he did one of the fillings looks flawless. At the end of my treatment Dr. Choi showed me before and after photos of my infected teeth, AMAZING job. I have an extensive dental history, in addition to a very low pain tolerance (Dr. Choi gives painless numbing injections, which is a must for me). I highly recommend Enamel Dental! Tons of great things to say about Dr. Choi and his staff! For starters, I went a few years without visiting a dentist then relocated to the city and stumbled upon Enamel Dental. I was a little worried going in at first because I knew I needed a decent amount of work done. When I first met with Dr. Choi he created a 2 year plan for me outlining the procedures I needed and organized them by priority, as well as broke them down into different calendar years to better work with my insurance. For me, this was the first time a dentist took into account my out of pocket cost and FSA/HSA and designed a plan that works for me. I have now been coming back to Enamel Dental for 2 years and have had multiple cleanings, (performed by Lucy - who is awesome!!) fillings, crowns, and a root canal. All the procedures were handled professionally and pain free! In addition, throughout the procedures Dr. Choi and Lucy take plenty of pictures of what they are doing and explain to you why they are doing what they are. Furthermore, they explain your options and both give their opinion, but ultimately allow you to make and informed decision. Overall, I have had nothing but great experiences with Enamel Dental.
