We went to see about the happy hour buffet with 2 drink minimum. Drinks were $11 each and extremely watered down. I finally had them make me my own requested drink . Wasn't much better . The buffet had pizza (not good ) , but the Turkey , mash potatoes and gravy my husband said weren't too bad just bland . I ordered chicken tenders . The order had 3 chicken fingers for $15! I was honestly shocked .The place was pretty full at the bar with what seemed like locals ,very dark atmosphere . Has a pool table and a few games but unfortunately Wouldn't go back . I find myself at a conference in Connecticut looking for a nice prime rib. Thank you Yelp for some great suggestions as always. We chose the skyline restaurant and it was a great choice. We arrived at the parking lot, which was spacious with room for a lot of cars. The signage on the building was fabulous. Easy to see from both directions far down on the street. For those of you that are wheelchair bound there's a big heavy duty cement ramp. You can roll right up nice and easy. The restaurant itself was quite large with a full bar. We were seated in the room off to the left rather than the bar area, which we requested. I believe Ellen was the nice young woman that waited on us and did a fabulous job. The three of us and the group we got different sides, but we got the prime rib. The prime rib was cooked we ordered. We had a medium rare, a medium, and a medium well and they did a great job cooking all three. The side orders were sufficient size and they also served warm bread and butter. I would highly recommend this restaurant . It is family owned and the owners are always there and engaging with the customers . We had a wonderful dinner tonight at the bar. we live about 40 minutes away but take the trip because the food is so wonderful. One of our favorites is the shrimp scampi appetizer tonight. We were there for dinner and had the lasagna and a baked stuffed shrimp. It is also one of my favorite places for French onion soup. I have to do a shout out for the roasted vegetables that came with the meal. As you can see from my picture it is very happy and it was also wonderful! Very beautiful presentation! Our go to stop when we pick my parents up from the airport. My dad loves the prime rib special. Great price and awesome portion and flavor ( as he reports). My mum gets the cod and cleaned her plate. My beef tips were cooked to perfection and the gravy was good, but for me it was just a little too much gravy. The tips were perfect without all that gravy. Kiddo got the buffalo chicken wrap. My wife and I stopped in at the Skyline restaurant for an early Sunday dinner. We haven't been here in while and from what I remember, it was pretty good a few years ago so I had high hopes. The food was decent but unfortunately the service was not up to par. After we got our drinks and meals, we didn't see our waitress for the rest of the day (or at least until the bill came). The waitress didn't bring any bread for the table until after we finished our meals (shouldn't the bread come at the beginning?) She also neglected to come back to check in on us, for a second round of drinks or even to ask "How is everything"? Perhaps if I did a curbside pickup, I would have given this review more stars based just on the food alone. read more

Since we are working very long hours, it's nice to have a place to sit down and have a nice dinner and an ice cold beer at the bar after putting a long day. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and, as mentioned, also a bar that you may eat your meal as well. Plenty of big screens to watch your game and the help is very friendly and courteous. Compared to pricing in Long Island, things seem pretty reasonable and the portions are on the larger size. You certainly won't leave hungry. Try their Sky Burger- a different kind of burger where the bun is baked around the burger. Lasagna is also top notch- speaking of notch- their nachos are really very delicious and might replace a lunch item due to the large plate you get. Been here more than once and the first time it was okay. Service is always a little slow but they have a good prime rib special. I recently went back in again and the special they push was sold out. They recommended calling ahead and having them set it aside which was really weird to me. They also don't have a dress code as there's waitresses walking around in camisoles and undershirts with their armpits out. I can give better recommendations for the area they're in. read more

Underwhelmed. I met a colleague for dinner and I started off with a shrimp cocktail that was actually quite good with firm fresh shrimp and a nice cocktail sauce to accompany it. It went a bit downhill from there. I wanted to try the prime rib, which was not available but our server Angelina recommended trying the ribeye. OK let's do the ribeye medium rare. When the ribeye came it looked remarkably like a New York strip. Setting that aside, it was cooked medium rare but had a tad too much gristle to be considered a restaurant quality steak. My colleague had fish and chips which was excellent. A large piece of cod perfectly fried accompanied by french fries. I brought home the chocolate mousse cake for my wife which was accompanied by a side of caramel and a side of chocolate. That was first rate. Skyline could do better. Been here twice and I'll leave my two cents for Yelping here. The restaurant is split into a bar area with half a dozen TVs with several tables and some bar seating. It's similar to a diner feel with a bar thrown in. The other part of the restaurant is more of a quieter dining area and has more of a restaurant feel vs a diner/bar feel. So. It's two in one so to speak. I've had a burger and a sandwich here but other colleagues have had fish and chips, pulled pork, salads and wraps. Everything was "good" and I don't recall any complaints. The pricing for a sandwich and a soft drink will run you around $14.00. So. Not super expensive but not cheap either. The server was pleasant and both times I've been here the food came out fairly quick (10 min?), but the place was only 25% full so it's hard to say how it would be if it were really busy. Overall, it was a good meal and I'll be back. If the burger and drink were $12 I probably would have given 4 stars as for me it was between 3 and 4. Enjoy! read more

This restaurant is not welcoming to people of color , rude looks and stares are expected if your skin color looks different. As soon as my family and I walked in we only got stares not even greetings. Me and my family feel extremely uncomfortable and are disappointed. Other customers were offered bread etc while we were seated and offered noting. To add onto this topic we had brought up the issue on flys the waiter says it hasn't happened to any other customers insinuating we are dirty . I walked in not expecting much. The front desk staff was marginal at best. However, my waiter met me quickly and with a smile. I ordered lasagna (it doesn't come with garlic bread...do yourself a favor and order the bread at the same time!) and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The portion is more than large enough to split. The pasta is homemade and you can taste it. The sauce is perfect. And they even offered me (the sauce queen) more sauce for dipping the bread after I ordered it separately! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but if you are staying near the Hartford airport, EAT HERE! I may actually plan more early morning flights just so I can stop back in!
