Skyline Chili, good food and fast service. If I wrote just that it would be enough. But wait there's more. The Skyline is good here but to quote one patron "This was the best Skyline I ever had." When I overheard this I thought he was exaggerating but now i must agree. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Dine in. Sure there's an eat-in tax but trust me you will not regret paying extra to get the excellent service you are due. 2) Try the Extreme Habanero Cheese on something, anything. It's not hot but very tasty, you will enjoy it. I love getting it on cheese coneys because it adds a nice kick.

Where the 'locals' go for a late night hunger snack or fast meal! Growing up, this was (and still is) my favorite go-to place after a night of indulging with friends. Not fancy nor broad menu, but a Cincinnati tradition ... Greek recipe chili served on a hot dog or over spaghetti, loaded with shredded cheddar, adding onions and/or beans if you desire. Table service that's quick and friendly, you'll usually get your food within 5-6 minutes of ordering. Cost is less than $10pp. It rates a 3.5-4 for me, but I'm biased on this one! For newbies, it will be a Love it or Hate it type experience, but I think this is an acquired taste Chili, having 20+ ingredients in the recipe. And if you like it spicy, try their 'Extreme' (with shredded Habanero cheese) as an alternative to Regular cheddar. My two menu favorites are either a '4-way (onion)' or Cheese coney with onion and mustard. When visiting, I gotta stop in for a meal a couple times over a few days visit! And you can also get a simple salad, fries, or Chili burrito or bowl if you don't want to try it the traditional way with hot dog or spaghetti, but I hope you will get to try Skyline if passing through the Greater Cincinnati area. ENJOY my hometown spot!!!

This Skyline location really impressed me. I've been enjoying Skyline's food for decades, but I just want to take a minute to explain what keeps me coming back: Walking into a dine-in Skyline is kind of like taking a trip back to an era that doesn't really exist anymore. They could easily get away with treating this like a fast-food style restaurant, where you order at the counter and then take your food to any unoccupied table or booth. Skyline doesn't do it that way. A server takes your order, brings the food to you, and provides great service throughout your meal This adds a little class to the experience. I hope Skyline never changes their format, and keeps it this way forever.

One rule thatI have, is I don't ever really review chain restaurants. I've eaten Giordanos, Lou Malnati's, Buona Beef and Portillo's a lot of times, but never review them. Reason for it is, they've already been established as a restaurant and everyone already knows about them. I like to give the local family owned spots a chance. Skyline is a chain, but it appears that's were most locals prefer. We stopped at Skyline on our way out of Cincinnati, and it was my third place eating Chili. First was Dixie and second was Camp Washington. And I must say, In I also prefer Skyline. If their consistent with all their restaurants, then Skyline is the best chili in Cincinnati. They were very friendly, prompt and very clean inside. I ordered their 5 way and a coney and both were very delicious. Plenty of cheese covering a very tasty chili with beans and onions over spaghetti noodles. With some hot sauce of course. I still have yet to try Gold Star, which I most likely will on my next visit and perhaps a few their local joints, but for now Skyline is King.

I'm rating Skyline Chili on the brand aspect rather than this one particular restaurant (which was absolutely fine, btw: clean, friendly and prompt service!) The last time I was in Ohio, my husband and I were told that we had to try the chili...both Skyline and Gold Star. I was a little apprehensive, because I like my chili a certain way and I know that there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of ways to prepare chili. We tried one (I can't remember which) and it was very good....so different from the chili I was used to, and it was served on spaghetti noodles. What the...? It was just meat with a mound of cheese on top with the noodles underneath. I didn't know what this concoction was supposed to be, but it was delicious. The next night, we sought out the other chain and it, too, was delicious. We learned that Ohio (or Cincinnati, if you prefer) chili is Greek style with a hint of chocolate in it, not like the traditional heavy tomato based chili with kidney beans in it of the north. Fast forward a few (4? 5?) years, and I found myself in Cincinnati with my sister and niece, as we traveled to Kentucky. I was pretty sure they had never had this kind of chili before, so we stopped at this very restaurant and had some. The oohs and ahhs and yums I got from the both of them told me I had made a smart decision. My sister will try anything, as will my niece, but my niece doesn't care for kidney beans, so SHE was a little apprehensive. She got over it with the first bite! *there are no kidney beans in the chili I told them to order the small, any way they liked it, because I was hoping to stop at a Gold Star next, for comparison. My sister ordered the 5 way and my niece and I each ordered the 3 way. Deliciousness, all the way around. We were so full from just those little orders that we never did stop at a Gold Star. In fact, we didn't even see one on the route we took, so lucky you, Skyline, you are the chili that made a lasting impression on two newbies and YOU are the chili they talk about when we get together since our return. If you are unfamiliar with Skyline, let me explain: you get a bed of spaghetti noodles topped with Greek style chili. The chili, in turn, is loaded up with shredded cheddar cheese. This is a gooey, savory, and IMO, palate pleasing meal. You can order a small, medium or large and either a 3 way (spaghetti, chili and cheese), a 4 way (spaghetti, chili and onions OR beans) or a 5 way (spaghetti, chili, onions AND beans). They offer a vegetarian version, in which black beans and rice are substituted for the chili. There are several other food items available, including coney dogs, burritos, salads and wraps. If you've never tried Skyline, do yourself a favor and check them out when you find one......YUM! http://skylinechili.com/menu.php 47/2016

The service is fair but the restaurant is dirty and the chili is watered down. Go to the Skyline at 8631 Colerain. It is much better.

The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

My husband and i stopped in last week for breakfast. There were approx 4 tables seated and two new tables of two that came in behind us. Honestly the entire place felt dirty and sloppy. We were one of three tables occupied in the place. The decor was lovely, albeit totally akin to a hotel restaurant. We sat at a booth table that was very comfortable. There is individual LED lighting on each table bright enough to see the menu, which was great. Our server was energetic, helpful, and she kept a close eye on us without being intrusive. Here are our thoughts about the food: We read that the croquettes and crispy lasagna were dishes Pennyflower is known for, so we ordered those. The croquettes are gooey and rich but came to us barely warm. The lasagna was a very browned huge slab of layered pasta with ricotta and surrounded by an arrabbiata sauce. The flavors did not quite hit anything special for us, and the crispy aspect was way too much so. I also missed the meat, as we do prefer meat in our lasagna (I did order knowing it did not have meat). The burger was...well, just a burger, but the fries were fantastic. The best dish of the night was the house salad. It was perfectly dressed with bits of candied almonds, feta, and thin slices of fennel. We would order this over and over
