To start with, food quality was fine. Typical Skyline food.... Which I quite enjoy. But with a chain we have to judge based on location specifics. Offered one menu for a table of five. ask if we want menus and give us enough dont just give us one. We didn't need menus but to only give one is very odd. Server had many issues. Would only take our order in his own way not in a how can I help you way. For a rather large skyline building only had three other tables with guests while we were there. A few days ago we were at another location that was packed (only one empty table) and everything was great. But... Back to here ... We were almost completely done with our meal and server never checked on us. I went to the counter and Askef the manager for refills and he said we are too busy for that. Four tables with customers and even the manager cannot get me a refill? After we were done eating with a table filled with dirty dishes server finally asks about refills but not dessert....I like both funnel fries and the seasonal cheesecakes... And hadn't ordered much considering dessert ...Then he goes across the restaurant and asks from there if we want to split the check. It was relatively clean. First and foremost, this is personal preference. I understand that people of Cincinnati live these dogs. I grew up in the unofficial chili dog capital of the world- a small town in Western Pennsylvania. Every city I visit, I try a chili dog. I do t know if it's Skyline or Cincinnati I'm general, the chili dog I was served was not good. After one bite, i threw it away First of all, the meat was an odd white color and the dog was smaller than ever I've had before. I do t know if it was beef, chicken or pork. Pretty good chili. Not great. Reputation proceeded the place and we were let down. It was a nice experience and nothing really went wrong. Just not very eventful. My niece says to just type meh. So meh! One disappointment to me was their 3-way. That's spaghetti noodles with chili and shredded cheddar cheese. Where we're from they also use a spaghetti sauce or some other kind of red sauce. There's also a chili Mac version. All similar, not quite the same (the review loses no stars for this as it's a personal preference that they do not offer). This is our local Skyline and it's gotten better lately. A few years ago through the early pandemic days it was inconsistently opened and staffed. We would sometimes show up to a closed store and drive thru. The past year has been much better. We have had no issues dining in or at the drive thru. On occasion the dining room could be cleaner but it's always passable. The mobile pay doesn't work at consistently here as it does at downtown locations. Back when Inworked in BlueAsh. We'd come here weekly as the food was fantastic and the staff was amazing. Just like family. Today, I had an appt down here and decided to see how things have changed. Well, other than change of management, the folks are still nice and the food is still good. This is still one of my top five Skylines. Stopped in here for lunch... Had the Coney bowl - three hot dogs smothered in Chili and topped with grated cheddar cheese. Overall, flavor was good. I think the dogs are steamed. Skyline is everything I hoped it would be: cheap, filling, cheesy (literally and figuratively) and just a little bit dingy. As visitors to the Cincinnati area we knew we were legally bound to eat some chili and that Skyline was the place. My four way (beans) was absolutely huge and a wee bit sloppy. For once, I did not get anything on my shirt. I could have used more heat, though. The hot sauce is ok, but i'd really like some chili powder or just a "hot" version of the regular blend. One thing is for sure, you won't need to eat for a day or so after a meal here. And if you really like it, Kroger sells cans to take home for us tourists. read more

TL;DR Rich flavour, spicy in many ways, heart-warming and heart-burning, it's American fast-food and it's great on a cold winter day. This was the first location I've ever been to and I absolutely love the flavours here. If you're a tourist in need of rich flavour combinations and a unique Ohioan specialty this is the place to go! The 5-way is the way to go with all the toppings for a maximum flavour bomb. Just trust me, if you're going to order fast food GO HERE NOW. The coneys are a twist on regular hot dogs we get off the street carts in Toronto but much smaller and kid sized with steamed (I say soggy because that steam collects and it cancels out the bun flavour for water) buns. It's alright, not crazy for the marshy waterfall texture. The service seems to be very normal. The normal as in everyone who goes here always goes here and they just know each other! I don't know if there's a policy against it, but every single time I ask for extra hot sauce and crackers at this drive thru, I NEVER get them. The girl even told me that there were extra crackers in the bottom of the bag...FALSE. If it's against policy to give extra hot sauce and crackers for free, just let people know. People don't believe me when I say that every Skyline tastes different. Some are good...some not so much! This is definitely a really good one. The restaurant is a nicer, more updated location. We've been here hundreds of time and never had a problem until tonight. Upon arrival we asked our waitress (Latasha) if they could put the UC game on the tv. She told us several other people were watching the tv which looking around, no one was watching. She told us she had to ask the manager. She brought us crackers and then left to talk to her manager. It took a while and she proceeded to tell us the manager would look into it but she was doing inventory. I guess inventory is more important than the customer. Our waitress then came over to take our order. My son ordered the kids hot doggy. She proceeded to ask us if he was 10 & under. I said yes and then she said he is? I love Skyline! This location is close to my work and I use the drive thru when I go to this specific location. The service here is always quick and efficient. The staff are always very nice and greet you with a smile. They have had the same smiling faces in this location working the drive thru for the past several years which is great. The food is always pipping hot and there is always cracker and hot sauce in my bag, along with silverware of course. Love this location! read more

We were the only dine in customers. The five visible staff members didn't greet us. Our waitress looked slovenly and smelled like bug spray. Our drink order had to be repeated twice. Our drink order came out slow and incomplete. 4 drinks should be possible for one waitress to carry at once. When our food finally came out it was wrong. My kids were supposed to get the 2 hotdog meals and received singles. I ordered a large 3 way not a large 5 way. The waitress didn't apologize but she did carry my replacement food to the table with her thumb literally in my 3 way. At that time she still hadn't brought out my wife's chicken wrap. When it came out it didn't have hardly any lettuce or tomato and was nearly frozen. My kids hotdogs were burned, rubbery, and only warm. There were hard dried out pieces of spaghetti all through my 3 way. She didn't bring salt although we asked. She didn't bring more crackers although we asked. The cheese fries were fine. Our drinks were empty before we were offered refills in an otherwise empty restaurant. I'd have complained if anyone cared enough to ask. They didn't so much as speak to us again except when she dropped off the check and never spoke except to say have a good night as she walked away. The cashier was the same. A poster child for apathy. I wouldn't eat at that skyline again on a bet and I've eaten at more skyline locations than most people. read more

I will never again visit the Skyline Chili in Blue Ash. I visited this location today, my sever was very friendly, but when I paid my bill their terminal indicated that I was using a gift card. A guy wearing a shirt with owner on it, took my credit card from the cashier and was trying to figured out what happened. I showed them on my phone where the transaction went through, but he still was holding me up trying to figured out what happened. I told the guy don't double charge my card, he tossed my card across the country to me in a very respectful way, I told him don't toss my card to me, he then said he was sorry. First let me say that I'm from Oklahoma, and there seems to be a vast difference between chili in Ohio and Oklahoma. The service was good, the restaurant was clean and tidy. The chili was served fast and hot. It was just so different from what we call chili that I was surprised. read more

This Skyline Chili was absolutely atrocious upon my arrival. The floors were horrid and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in 4 weeks. There were crumbs, food, firstly napkins, and wrappers all over the floor. The service was also very very slow and the workers were rude. To make matters worse, the broom was laying across the table when we walked in. Is the broom out of service?????? All around me, people are looking at the ground and frowning. Truly disgusting. When you walk into any Cincinnati Chili joint, if you have any expectations regarding what kind of culinary adventure you are about to have, leave them in the parking lot. That being said... Skyline is what happens when you do workingman's American-Mediterranean fusion. The hotdogs used in their "coneys" are unique, pale and light on flavor; which leaves room for all of this smooth "chili's" clove and allspice mixture to dance on your tongue. Top everything with a veritable mountain of shredded cheddar and there you have it. Is it weird?
