    the outside of a restaurant

This restaurant is more-or-less on my way to Cincinnati, Hamilton, or Middletown, and I wanted to try a new pizza place, so I stopped. I've seen the Richard's Pizza restaurants in Hamilton, but for some reason never stopped, and this one seemed more accessible. I wasn't certain what to expect since they were in a strip mall. I didn't even know that there was a dining room until I entered the building. Going inside, you're practically at the front counter, which doesn't give a line of customers much space. That seemed rather inconvenient for winter or even when it's raining. I needed a few minutes to learn their choices. They had 4 sizes of pizza, including an 8 inch like LaRosa's. It's a bit smaller than the other options in the area which tend to be 9 or 10 inches. Surface area counts but $7.50 isn't a terrible price for a Deluxe. Unlike LaRosa's, it has 5 ingredients, not 4. I asked for a Diet Mountain Dew (I'm avoiding sugar for a while) and that was $1.69 for a 20 ounce bottle. That seems rather high compared to fountain soda. (They have a sign to not take food or drink that isn't theirs into the restaurant, so I couldn't get something cheaper down the street at Speedway.) The good new is at $9.79, it was still under $10.00 and it tasted great. The pizza looked like a LaRosa's creation, so I'm wondering if that's where the founders got their start. It was thicker than expected and of course, because the cheese is on top, the ingredients attempt to leave the pizza ahead of their time. Cassano's and others figured this out years ago, so they don't have the problem. The main thing is that it tasted good and that the employees were friendly. Now, to return to try their specialty Italian Steak Sandwich...

Please come to this restaurant if you are in the Cincinnati area!…read more First, I wish to state that I am not from Ohio and that this is my first time eating at Two Cities, but this restaurant might be my favorite pizza shop going forward. Second, I only had two of the items on the menu but so many of the other options on the menu looked amazing as well. This Two Cities was built inside the old city hall of Mason, with Mason being a cozy little town in of itself. The restaurant smells amazing upon entering, course it would because they cook their food fresh. It's even got a little ramp that leads down to the main seating area for mobility impaired persons. My first minor issue with this Two Cities was that the booth I was sitting at was slightly raised by a literal step, which nearly made me trip while exiting the booth because I hardly noticed getting into the booth due to my height (6'3 at the time of writing review). There are other booths though that are not raised, so an opinion is to be based of where you are seated. My waitress was really kind and offered a helpful opinion when I was deciding on which pizza to get after being seated by a host. The waitress also allowed me to put in my order all at once (drink, appetizer, and entree). The appetizer (garlic parmesan fries) arrived fast and were undoubtedly scrumptious; the fries were a near perfect mix of crunchy and soft with the shredded parmesan and minced garlic adding extra flavor. Their ranch is also superb. I got the 13" Rhythm Road Pizza (which I shared with someone. I could not eat half of a deep dish pizza alone) and it was something else. Most importantly, it had MASHED POTATO on it instead of a traditional pizza sauce and notably, chipotle aioli drizzled on top (there are more toppings, of course, but they're more normal toppings). Unfortunately, the pizza slices were unevenly sliced, leading to inconsistent slice size and the toppings slide off the pizza easily when scooped up with the provided pizza spatula, all minot grievances of course. The only true complaint I had with this Two Cities was that my waitress did not actively seek out to refill my glass when it was empty. I will say that my drink was not close to the edge for her to see, but it was within view from any view of the table. There were a relatively high number of customers in the restaurant for the time I was there (about an hour before closing), so I don't hold it against her for not noticing. The cups were average size, so I wasn't exactly dying of thirst while dining. The music inside was of good taste and was at a very respectable volume. The other patrons were also well mannered and I had no need to raise my voice to speak to my dining buddy. The final thing I wish to add to this review is how nice the bathroom was. They were very clean, had two urinals (short and tall), one wheelchair accessible stall, nice smelling soap, a simple water control handle, a foot doorhandle, and MOUTHWASH. This is only public building I have ever been in that has offered complementary mouthwash, let alone a bathroom. This could be an Ohio or Midwest exclusive thing, but I enjoyed using the mouthwash nonetheless.

Not the best pizza but they have two unique styles (New York or Chicago) depending on your tastes…read more We went on a Friday evening and it was pretty crowded and the noise level was high. Be prepared to drop $25 - $30 for a pizza for 2 or 3. Good beer and wine list. Tight parking at busiest times. No reservations but they do a call ahead so call ahead for the fastest service.

Four words sum this up: good food, bad cleaning…read more I was curious about this location since Cassano's chose to start again here with the London Bobby Fish & Chips, not seen since the 1980s. They didn't choose Stroop Road by the headquarters or some other location, they chose Trenton, so there must be something utterly fantastic about the location. This area is on the way to Cincinnati (and more) for me, although S.R. 73 will be closed starting the 10th of June for 45 days. It seemed a good place to get lunch, not too far from the Gold Star Chili where I stopped last week, also on the same road but with a Middletown address. The restaurant seems compact with the front counter scrunched between the outside door and the dining room and rest rooms. As soon as someone realized that I was there, she pointed past the shift manager towards me. I was always told that it was impolite to point. Oh, well. I ordered a 9 inch deluxe pizza and a fountain Mountain Dew. It came to just under $10.00 as expected. As I went to fill my drink, I was surprised to see so many workers--5 or 6 total. Even more so, I was surprised that the dining room needed attention, while the workers were standing, talking. Two tables needed to have trash removed, as the people had already left the building. I also happened to see through the blinds next to my table and there were a number of dead bugs on the window sill. Now, I'm still thinking that Cassano's chose this location to do special things--it seems to me that they even had a 1970s British band here when they re-launched Fish & Chips. Soooooo, what went wrong? The pizza arrived quickly and had plenty of ingredients. It seemed well made and baked well, also. All of the stores apparently have conveyor ovens now, so there should be no over-baked pizzas. The pizza tasted really good. Still, I can't get over having so many employees doing almost nothing, especially when the mess was so visible, and still hadn't been handled by the time I left.
