The Chile verde scramble with fried eggs is . The second time, I went with two girl friends and we are gabbing fools. Like distracted ordering, lots of talking kinda get together. Server touched up drinks, check on us after dropping food, and let us do our thing. It's off the beaten path, and honestly I had never thought of this place until our friend suggested it. On the way back from Visalia, I wanted to bring back some breakfast and was tired of the fast food scene. So I placed a pick up order, asking them what their most popular food items were. The lady on the phone was super nice. Really helpful. And explained several of their dishes to me. So I ended getting a Philly cheesesteak (comes with fries), biscuits and gravy whi h also comes with 2 eggs and hashbrowns, as well as a breakfast burrito which has 2 different sauces on the side. Order was ready for pick up in about 10 min which is really nice. Seating inside is actually quite large. Multiple tables and booths all along the walls. With the check in counter right in the middle when you walk in. Food was good. Definitely hearty. Pricing wasent bad either. All 3 dishes came out to just under $40. The breakfast burrito was very good. Everything can be found in the burrito, evenly distributed. Flavors were good. Philly cheesesteak was so so. Lacked flavor. I was hoping for all that juice to be dripping down ur arms kind of thing. But that didn't happen. The biscuits and gravy was good. Biscuits were drenched in the gravy. The hashbrowns were good too. I order the Chile Verde omelette with country potatoes and toast. My omelette was really good the Chile Verde was not spicy but had good flavor and the toast was really good. Upon walking in the first thing I noticed was how dirty the floor and welcome mat was. YIKES! The Diner was full but not busy. Plenty of staff working for one of them to sweep the floor. Just saying. Now to the good stuff!!!!! We ordered: French toast, side of bacon & fruit, chorizo queso skillet & blackened Benedict omelet. Sorry guys...I only had time to take pictures for the chorizo skillet, I guess my family was starving. I was a bit disappointed. I didn't get chorizo in my chorizo queso skillet. However, the flavor of the potatoes were quit good. The other three food options we had were amazing. My mother-in-law just raved in the freshness of the fruit. Her French toast smelled of pure cinnamon. She had non left so I guess it was as good as it smelled. All in all we will go back again. I just hope the floors are cleaner. read more

Our only two complaints have been with both owners was the bench padding could use more padding. But more than that is the coffee. It has always been our least favorite. It lacks richness in flavor. I enjoyed mine, I don't think you can mess up chocolate pancakes but after I finished I wished it had come with more like a side of bacon or hashbrowns because I was still hungry after I ate my pancakes. Let me first start off by saying I would have given Skillets a 5 star rating for food and service, which is always really great and we love coming there, but today was one of those days I was a bit frustrated at the accommodations provided to families with babies when it comes to changing a dirty diaper. I don't think asking for a changing area, besides on the unsanitary floor or countertop is asking too much. There is more than enough room in the women's bathroom to add a drop down changing table. You actually have plenty of room in the handicap stall to put a full changing table. Same probably goes for the men's restroom. Moms aren't always the only ones changing diapers at times. It should be mandated for all family restaurants to provide something. Otherwise, we might as well be changing them at the table where we eat. read more

I give this place 2 stars only because the wait staff are always great and they have a good breakfast burrito. The owner of this place is what kills it and I'm sure she will eventually will be the reason they close. The owner is rude, disrespectful and has no idea what customer service is. I went in one time and the owner was down right rude to the hostess. All because the girl was doing her job. Then another time I came in she was disrespectful directly to me. I try to avoid conflict because I have a bad temper and I know what I am capable of. My wife tried calling the restaurant to speak with her and the young man that answered the phone (who was really sweet) tried to tell her a customer wanted to speak to her. She began screaming at him which we could hear over the phone. The lady is a piece of work. We choose to take our business elsewhere. I would not stand there again and allow her to disrespect me and I certainly would not stand there again and watch her treat her staff the way she does. If I could give a 3.5 star rating, that's what I would choose here. The desire to rate higher for me would be our service was perfect. Timely, polite, and everything I would hope for at a sit down restaurant. Our food also came out pretty quick, but not so quick it's suspicious which was another high point. My husband got a corned beef sandwich and a salad. He enjoyed the salad, but I think he took 1 bite from his sandwich and said it wasn't good. Normally he loves corned beef and isn't a picky guy, so for him to set it aside and not eat it made a pretty impactful impression to me on how it must have tasted. I had a pancake combo and added chocolate chips. For me, the high point was the bacon which was delicious. The okay part was the pancakes. They were alright, just nothing particularly special or anything I would crave wanting to come back. The least appetizing to me was the eggs. I normally love scrambled eggs, but these were pretty sad so I actually didn't finish them. I wish they were fluffier and the texture was better. The flavor was a bit off as well. Looking around at the restaurant, the layout and decor was a little awkward to me too. It didn't quite make sense to me for the diner look and it was a little odd the host stand is really far back and this big dead space is in the center of the room. Overall, it was an okay meal. We arrived and waited to he seated when he takes it upon himself to seat multiple parties ahead of us when we had been waiting ten minutes. When we finally were seated at a freshly cleaned table you could see remnants of food. So gross. CeAnne ans Gretchen are great and both were ready to seat us but were busy tending to other patrons. I personally like that, no need to add diabetes to my morning Jo. Maybe 10 minutes after ordering we received our food. Food came out hot and looked very good. Nice presentation with the avacado on my omlette. Food was great. The only thing I would suggest would to possibly add a bar. There is so much wasted space inside. First time we had the breakfast, and this time, we tried their lunch. Both meals were amazing. For breakfast, we ordered the omelet, waffles, and french toast. Everyone agreed that it was delicious. This time, (the same group of us) went back to try out their lunch, had their bacon cheeseburger, bleu cheeseburger, and their krispy chicken sandwich, and it was consistent! The burgers are double patty along with their freshly seasoned fries while the krispy chicken sandwich was crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside (I say the chicken is even better than Raising Canes!) The service was great, our waitress came by numerous times to check up on us and made sure we were well taken care of. Keep it up! read more

The biscuit was just gross... might of been frozen. Hashbrowns were burned on 1 out of 3 dishes. Last and most important was they forgot the spinach on my omelette. I did point it out to my waitress and she offered to bring me a side bowl of spinach and I tried to explain to her that just putting spinach onto with the avocado and tomatoes wouldn't be nearly as good and I asked her to have them remake it. By the time it came back they just dumped the spinach on top of the avocado and tomatoes. I refused the dish and left without eating it. 11:30am= arrive and wasit to be seated 12:00pm= seated and drink order taken 12:05pm= drinks arive 12:15pm= order taken 12:45pm= coffee refilled 1:00pm= coffee refilled 1:15pm= asked if we needed anything and apologise for the wait 1:30pm= food arrived and sent back omelette 1:32pm= omelette came back wrong 2:00pm= got the check 2:15pm= they took payment. This was there first weekend but they just were not ready... cooks and waitresses just not in the grove and the food just wasn't worth the cost or wait. We waited for 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order, then waited another 15 minutes for someone to take our food order. In that time there were 3 other parties seated in the restaurant. Once our order was taken within 5 minutes the table across from us, a party of 3 that had been seated 15 minutes after us, had already received their food order. We had been seated for 45 MINUTES and still hadn't received our food while the other 3 parties had already received theirs. I flagged down who I thought was the manager and told her that we hadn't received our food yet but other tables had their food that had been seated 10-15 minutes after us. The "manager" didn't return to us but instead had a server come tell us that our order was being made and it will be ready in 10 minutes! We waited a total of an hour+ at this restaurant then we were TOLD TO LEAVE at 12:14 BY THE SAME SERVER THAT MANAGEMENT SENT!!!! She whispered it to me Banana Cream Waffles- This is definitely something to try. Maybe ask for whipped cream on the side cause it was too much. Son just ate around the edges of the waffles.
