The bread has a crust but is soft and pillowy inside. The egg is cooked perfectly with a runny yolk but a cooked egg white. Everyone enjoyed their meal, especially the veggie plate. The pickles were very good if you are a pickle lover. Don't expect to go in with a large group as the tables are small, but the big windows and great view make for a great brunch spot. Interior is cutely decorated with all sorts of random items, but clean. Staff member were really quick to clean up and wipe down used tables as well. There is seating on both sides of the restaurant, but it looks like the place gets filled pretty quickly. Food is made to order, so it took about 10 minutes for our order to come. You get a notification and a staff will call out your number when ready. This is unlike anything I've ever had! My group started off with the Stroganoff Boat first. It's a good thing we shared two between the three of us because this is carb heavy, but really delicious! The stroganoff isn't too salty, and the pickles help balance the flavors out. Egg yolks were perfectly runny and I'm not usually a cheese eater, but I just had to give this whole combination dip a try. It's not too heavy! On the other hand, the Lobiani Boat, gave a mild but good kick thanks to the red chili and it was plenty flavorful because of the bacon. There were a lot of textures going on with this Boat. I had only ever ordered through doordash until stopping in yesterday afternoon. Upon walking in, a couple was standing around confused and asked me if I was working there. With all of us confused and literally not a single soul in sight besides us, it was a very unpleasant first impression. We could hear someone working in the back but no one came up front. At first, I thought they must be short staffed and felt compassionate towards them, knowing what it's like to work in an understaffed place. However, someone did eventually come out and pointed out the plethora of signage indicating that they've "switched to self serve kiosk". So this appears to be a conscious choice made to have literally zero interaction with their customers who's money they're taking. I was honestly kind of stunned by the whole experience and so turned off that i left without ordering. I mean, the food is good, the place itself is very cute. So to have that poor of a system in place that it genuinely did not feel worth my money is crazy. Major fail. If you don't care, by all means enjoy the food. This is really not a review about their menu, but rather the establishment and business practices used. I mean, why even have a restaurant if it's going to be essentially the same as ordering from a vending machine. You don't really get to interact with any employees, there is a self serve kiosk, and it is a bit expensive. This has been my favorite discovery for breakfast food I'm not even a breakfast person but Skalka has changed that! I usually think breakfast food is so bland and just the same old boring thing (eggs and potatoes and some meat and waffle/pancakes). Had been here before when it was Spring Thyme Bakery a number of times would get goodies for some friends at work and a latte once or twice. a friend treated me here for dinner yesterday. I didn't do then ordering so can't say much about the service. I like that everything is compostable. My guess is since they were slow there was no one at the counter, so you use the self serve iPad to place your order. We sat down and waited for about 15 min or so two get our two boats. My recommendation being a newbie, if your only two ppl one boat will be more than enough to share. I opted on the chicken boat, meanwhile my friend ordered the Lobiani Boat. They were equally delicious, but I would say the Lobiani boat was my favorite. For me it just tasted like breakfast flavors more so than the chicken. The bread is delicious and dipping it in the beans, cheese, and the bacon just makes this boat so tasty. The restaurant overall is the perfect size, clean, and a lot of natural light.
