Good beer and great pizza and sandwiches. The service was not so good. Came with family and ordered a couple of pizzas, pulled pork sandwich, green chili brisket melt and the daily tacos. The tacos came out cold and seemed like they were left over from the day before (dry and refrigerator cold). Beware the fries are super salty. We ate outside and once the food came we no longer saw our server. We had to go and get boxes and track down our server so we could pay. read more

Delicious food, great beer, family friendly and chill atmosphere--reminds me of my local brewery. They have a really cute outdoor patio. Unfortunately the night we were here it was raining, so we sat inside. For beer, I got the grapefruit lager and a blonde ale. Both were really might and refreshing. I really liked the grapefruit lager, very citrus forward. And for food my husband got the burger and I had a pulled pork sandwich (with tater tots!!). The burger was cooked perfectly to our ordered temp and the pulled pork was tender. The pulled pork came with a side of slaw that I put on my sandwich. Both the fries and tots were delicious, fried to perfection! But a little too salty. If I'm ever back in Durango I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Two Thumbs Up Oktoberfest, August IPA, Mexican Lager, Bree Stomper- the Rancid Collaboration & El Duderino- the White Russian Stout are phenomenal! Ordered food which was spectacular too! Tempeh burger, Caesar Salad, Burger and Fries were delicious. We were passing through town with our dog and got a flat tire, dropped the tire off at Discount Tire for repair and asked for a recommendation for a dog friendly eatery. Nick at DT nailed it by sending us to Ska Brewing. The only hiccup during the experience was a few very jealous bees that insisted on trying to steal the delicious eats we ordered. The patio had great shade for Theo. Since we visit Pagosa Springs A decent amount I see us making the hour drive to Durango to visit again. Thanks! read more

Stopped here on a Monday with a group of friends and overall really enjoyed our time! The ambiance is what you'd expect for a small town brewery: very laid back and fun. We had no trouble finding a table downstairs, though it looks like they have an upstairs for busier nights. Apparently, Mondays are pizza only nights, which we didn't know, but it worked out well. I ordered the margherita, which was really good. It came out piping hot, which I appreciated. The beer selection was great. Ska is one of our favorite local brewers, so we're never disappointed. I had the Pinstripe Ale, which is one of their originals and always one of my favorites. They also had a self serve water station, which was super convenient. Prices were pretty reasonable and there was ample parking. Only downside was service being a little on the slow side, but overall, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Not sure if this was just a Monday night thing, but everything is ordered from the bar, so don't expect anyone to come by your table to take your order. It can also make ordering in groups a bit challenging as our food came out at different times. That said, this is definitely a must do in Durango! read more

I only review ranch: I give Ska a 9.2 out of 10 for their Ranch. Perfect consistency. Not sour, glass half full when it comes to herb taste. I used 2 pieces of pizza for 1 cup (2tbsp worth). Best combo - Desert Fog with Ranch. The fire of the voodoo sauce gets quenched by the ranch. And don't forget a comfort & joy if you are a sucker for sours. read more

Ska has been one of my favorite brewing companies ever since discovering it years ago. I was in town visiting friends and we decided to grab a pie and some drinks. Mexican Logger is still a favorite and I tried their hard sodas also. The pizza was delicious! They seemed to be a little short handed but we still enjoyed our time there. We had an afternoon to explore Durango and found our way over to Ska. I wanted to check it out as I had their beer before and liked it. They have no inside seating due to Covid. Lots of varied seating outside though and we found a nice spot under an umbrella. The beautiful weather, spot on hospitality (love how they work as a team), and delicious beers kept us here for much longer than we expected. (And with zero regrets) I really liked the flag system they had set up at the table and think that's a nice touch (Covid or not) We did a flight to try lots of their extensive menu. I loved the pinstripe red ale and my hubby really enjoyed all of the IPAs, especially the modus hoperandi. We didn't have any food as we had dinner plans, but the menu looks great! They have cool merch too and I am happy they have wide distribution so I can easily pick them up anywhere. read more

Great brewery. They allow pups which is nice as I have two dogs. The outdoor area is wide open and very clean. The vibe is as you would expect, Ska/Punk but it's super cool! Once seated I had the Mexican lager, flavorful and great but took 15+ minutes which was a bit of a bummer because it slowed down a bit. At this point I ordered the kettle chips. Fresh, tasty and absolutely amazing. They are worth the calories! They buttermilk ranch was amazing as well and worth the dip! At this point when we winded down we ordered the chicken tacos. While nice portions... the chicken waste flavorless and the salsa was the only thing giving flavor. I had a final decadent IPA which was great! Overall a super rad place and worth a stop! read more

The outdoor seating smelled like poop, it was either from the dogs or might have been mulch. Ska is one of the best craft breweries I've been to nationwide. I've been a fan of theirs for over a decade and would sample their beer back when they had a tiny bar near their current location. Fresh beer by the pint or to go in a growler is worth the trip. They also have their entire line-up in cans or bottles in their coolers. The environment is great and their beer tenders are super fun and friendly. Occasionally you'll have to tolerate hipster parents that let their rug-rats run around, ruining the environment while they ignore them over their beer. Like most craft beers, Ska beers are best enjoyed fresh. Unfortunately Ska has fallen into the stupid IPA craze, so a majority of their beer is "fashionably" bitter. But, they tend to go back to their roots and offer unique and old-school seasonal styles that make them at the top of the craft beer heap in my book. Also located inside is the Container Restaurant. I wrote a separate review on them. They rate 5 stars, their food is that good! My only gripe would be that I think they could offer their beer for a bit less, but I guess they have to pay for their new building or something. When they were smaller, you could grab a pint for a couple bucks, but now prepare to pay $4-5 a pint. Also, avoid Thursday nights. They usually have a band and all the local hipsters and "semi-pro" cyclist show up and peacock around with their BS attitudes. read more

I was nervous to take my kid here while on vacation because of previous reviews from a yelper, but called to make sure the place was kid friendly. Turns out it is VERY kid friendly so don't let one yelper discourage you from going if you don't have a sitter. They have a kid's food menu that is reasonably priced and coloring materials and games. I got a $5.00 beer flight that you can pick five beer choices for tasting. All the beer was tasty. I especially liked the Decadent and Estival cream stout. My husband loved the Mexican Summer. The food was delicious. We got a pizza with pineapple, prosciutto, jalapeño, and green chile. We also got a Cobb salad that was great. We sat for a long time before we realized we didn't have a waitress. The servers were not rude, yet not overly friendly... Maybe a busy evening for them. We went to the brewery last night and it was a mixed bag of nuts. They have a relaxing vibe with a nice outdoor environment. The food was good and so was the beer. However, the food service experience was a hot mess! This is one of the typical places where you order from the hostess stand, get a hockey shaped buzzer disc to pick up your food (in this case from the hostess stand where the hostess is busy both taking the food order and seating guests), fill up your own water, buss your own dishes, and the employees even expect a tip for your work! If you need condiments for your food, good luck with that! Try asking for bbq sauce, ranch dressing, etc. you will feel like you are placing another food order as they simply can't pour that into a plastic serving cup, it goes on a ticket to the kitchen and you will wait like we did over 10 minutes while our luke-warm served food went cold. Who knows how long it was sitting at the hostess stand before the buzzer went off. If you want ketchup, napkins, utensils or pizza condiments you will have to go get it yourself. All in all, dial in to the expectations you have going there. The place needs some restaurant management help, but at least they have some other reasons to visit. read more

For Tempe sandwich arrived with tofu on it. My burger had a mushroom on it, but it was hard to find. Waiter brought me a second mushroom, also silver dollar sized. While waiting, mu ginger beer was refilled with water. They were kind enough to comp my burger. It was really laughable. Children running wild everywhere, running up to dogs and petting them without asking, screaming and jumping on the outdoor stage, ripping out gas line flags for an ongoing repair. A brewery is not a day care. Children should not be allowed to run rampant at an adult establishment. If my dog has to be on a leash, so should your child. The dogs are more well behaved than they are. It became impossible to enjoy our time there because they were so noisy and annoying. At one point the service staff had to come out and tell thr kids to get off the stage. How disrespectful is it to force service staff to stop their work to come parent your child. read more

Friendly, great food and beer prices and outdoor sitting that is dog friendly. The hubby wanted to try craft brewery on our road trip across the country and this is our first one. Not disappointed. I don't like beer but the one that the server recommended for my husband he liked. He said he can taste the grapefruit and the lighter beer went down easy. Pizza was good, artichoke dip was huge but a little bland. We greatly appreciated the outdoor sitting that gave the dogs an opportunity to sit outside as they been in the car all day. Ska is always a stop on our trips to Durango. We try to swing by for lunch but even if we can't get to that, a quick drink is a must. We love that we can purchase beer to take back with us, the Euphoria is our very favorite, and enjoy even after we've come back to AZ. Ska is a fan favorite. We've been to Durango 3 times and we've traveled to Ska 3 times. The beer is great, the food is better! It's an epic brewery in the fact that it's centered for community. Community seating, welcoming atmosphere and prices that don't hurt your pocket book. The atmosphere speaks for itself but to have a pleasant brewery on top of the beautiful location is just selfish. Arizona needs to really cool down already. We have always ordered the special of the day but what I can tel you is the BBQ, mango habanero flatbread should be a menu staple. If I had to define ska Brewing it would be: laid back, refreshing, refined. We always leave with a new shirt, the variety cans and a happy, belly! read more

Reviewed June 28, 2018 Friendly brewery with a great selection of beer. This is the first brewery we had ever been to, and I am glad we visited. Nice place and very friendly. We were staying at a hotel just down the street and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it. The Mexican Logger is fantastic! My wife tried the 5 sampler. The 22nd anniversary imperial stout aged in rye barrels here is worth a significant journey to drink straight from the tap - the bottled version is great too (I got 2 to take away) but drinking it at the brewery really was fantastic. Be warned - it is very strong! Bf tried the mandarin IPA which he loved and then the Mod Project Barrel-Aged Strong Ale With Plums which he loved so much he bought a giant can of it to take away.
