Amazing beer? Great people? Food trucks? Ska & reggae music? Honestly, what more could I have hoped for. I've been here a few times in the past and finally getting the chance to go again while in Durango lived up to all the great memories of SKA! I got the Mesa Guava IPA, which was the perfect brew for a warm day. It was light, almost like a hefeweizen, but had a hint of guava that didn't make it too sweet. My regret is not bringing an empty suitcase to ship some back to the South. The people here are always helpful and willing to throw a smile that welcomes every person who makes their way to the bar to order. When I was there, it wasn't crowded, so my friend and I could carry a conversation at a comfortable volume...even as Bob Marley, Slightly Stoopid, and Pepper played in the background. One of things that I love about SKA is the food trucks that they bring in for food. My guess is that this changes out on a regular basis...smart thinking SKA. So would I go back? We really enjoyed our beer selections and pizza. Our server was excellent too! Just one little incident kept our rating from being a 5. The server behind the bar was rude. Our menu had already been premoved from our table up so we asked her for a menu so we could select our next beer. Instead of simply handing us a menu she says with an eyeroll they're all listed on the wall menu (without descriptions of the beer like in the menu). Then acting very put out reaches down then tosses it on the counter at us. Why?!! read more

Worth the wait! Seriously, this is probably the best brewery in Durango. Beer is excellent and the food is to die for!! My favorite beer was the Mesa Guava IPA. I don't normally like IPAs, but this one was perfectly balanced and had amazing flavor. The Queso Dip appetizer was phenomenal and the chips served with it had a yummy seasoning on them. The pizza was absolutely worth the almost hour long wait! Everything is made from scratch including the dough so it does take awhile. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture. If we had stayed in Durango longer we would have eaten here again for sure. Hope to come back someday. read more

I wanted to take a moment to think and compose the perfect review because that is what my experience with SKA was; PERFECT back story, i planned a memorial service for my late husband and wanted a very low key reception for afterward. Meg was the BEST! She & Jordan coordinated everything after going back and forth mainly because i couldn't make up my mind on the menu and where we should be served (there were 25 of us). It was an emotional occasion and Meg was very considerate of that and my budget. She worked very closely with me to make certain all was perfect and it was. We ordered ahead of time and when we arrived the appetizers were served and shortly thereafter the pizzas were served. and Yes, the food & beer were amazing as well as the service, my husband would have loved it; we all did!. it was a very lovely way to end a memorial service and i am very thankful to SKA and Meg for making that happen! kudos to a great staff! read more

I mean, these guys were getting 5 stars from me regardless. I love their beer and I wish we could get it distributed in Nashville. It is also timely that we were in the shop the same week they were featured in Forbes. I've played in ska bands for years, have so many friends I've made in those circles, and it is a huge part of my life. This is our beer, whether they intended for that to happen or not! It was very cool to take my wife and my daughter. My daughter had to tell the server all her favorite ska bands. We also just grazed through all the beers and the menu. My only complaint would be the the flights didn't cover ALL the beer, and i was hoping for some more small batch stuff. The green Chile fries were awesome, and our daughter's burger may have been the best thing places on the table. Great experience, can't wait to be back. Our family ate here last night and we were very disappointed with the wait time for our meal. Two hours is unacceptable! We were told 30 to 45 minutes when we placed our order. We ordered an appetizer and asked if we could get that as soon as possible as we had a couple hungry young kids with us. The cashier who took our order said he couldn't order it that way. Isn't the definition of an appetizer something you eat BEFORE your main course? Anyway, two hours later we got the entire order. 2 nights in a row. I had to come back. The staff are great, the food was pretty darn good. My first night, I just had a beer. I had their double IPA. Not quite there for a double. Ska has an IPA on tap they called an Imperial IPA and it had a taste much more resemblant of a Double. I also had 2 tastes of a barrel aged quad. WOW. I love this style and man did they nail it. It's called Ska Face. Well, I saved my little taster to finish as a nice treat prior to leaving my 1st visit. WHAT?! The bar tender took it? Ugh. Anyway, I purchased a pint to go. It'll go all the way home. I also tried their imperial and enjoyed that also. Night 2. I came back for supper and to have a specific pour of the "Decadent" imperial IPA. Really nice. And wonderful beer all by itself. It's very complex and to pair it, well the food takes away from thus beer. For my meal, I had their style of Ruben. The pastrami was smoked and the mustard was a good twist. A buttered but plus good kraut made an good meal. I enjoyed my water with the meal for the meal was a distraction from the Imperial IPA beer. For the beers there, Helllloooooo, it's a brewery, for trying 3, 2 were knock outs. The first beer from night one was enjoyable, still I had to return. As for the establishment, a really cool place. A beautiful set up. An outdoor seating area, games to be played, television to watch stuff. Just a really nice place that does beer well and add in the extras. Come by, have a draft or two. I love Durango. The beer scene is pretty robust for such a small town. After a day of brewery hopping (3 of them before stopping at Ska) we ended our day here. I went the safe route (for me) and ordered a pint of their brown. Then, on a whim, I ventured out and ordered the Pink Vapor Stew. It definitely doesn't sound like something that I would enjoy. But...it works. I mean it won't work for non-sour drinkers, of course. It's a sour with beets, carrots, apples and ginger. It's so good. They have food from the container, but I didn't have any. The hours were different because they close at 7 on a Saturday, but whatever works for them works for me. I really enjoyed our visit and the beer. It seems like there's something for everyone. Stopped here on a Monday with a group of friends and overall really enjoyed our time! The ambiance is what you'd expect for a small town brewery: very laid back and fun. We had no trouble finding a table downstairs, though it looks like they have an upstairs for busier nights. Apparently, Mondays are pizza only nights, which we didn't know, but it worked out well. I ordered the margherita, which was really good. It came out piping hot, which I appreciated. The beer selection was great. Ska is one of our favorite local brewers, so we're never disappointed. I had the Pinstripe Ale, which is one of their originals and always one of my favorites. They also had a self serve water station, which was super convenient. Prices were pretty reasonable and there was ample parking. Only downside was service being a little on the slow side, but overall, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Not sure if this was just a Monday night thing, but everything is ordered from the bar, so don't expect anyone to come by your table to take your order. It can also make ordering in groups a bit challenging as our food came out at different times. That said, this is definitely a must do in Durango! read more
