Horrible service. We had to wait outside in the cold and dark for a table. We finally let ourselves in, and the girl sat us immediately, they just weren't watching the door. After being seated upstairs we enjoyed an extended period of being ignored. About ten minutes later, someone took our drink order, two beers please. We waited fifteen more minutes until I decided to go downstairs and pursue them myself. Our server was leaning against the wall in the stairwell (hiding) playing on her phone. We left. Also the kitchen pass is oddly at the front door where you'd expect reception to occur. I have been a fan for a long time, not anymore. read more

I had a few of Ska's beers in bottles a while back and wasn't too impressed. Then I moved to Durango and found out Ska was releasing a new IPA and having a big ole party at the brewery to celebrate. IPA's being one of my favorite styles of beers I went down to check it out. The new beer, Modus Hoperandi was great and the brewery itself was nice too. A big open clean room with plenty of tables and bar seating. There was a band playing and all sorts of people hanging out and having a great time. I've since tasted a few of their other beers and liked them as well. I must have just had the two that I won't ever like the first time around. read more

I've been heading to Durango for work ever few months for the last year or so and I've loved Pinstripe Red Ale every since I tasted it at a beer fest years ago. For whatever reason, it's taken me this long to check out the brewery. I know they just completed the building recently and it is a remarkable facility. Good atmosphere, outdoor seating, baseball on tv, and delicious brews fresh on tap. Grabbed a sixer for the road and got the names of a few places in Denver that sell their beer. The only down side is location. I actually work in that part of town, so it's convenient to get some beer to take with you, but it's not really near anything and it's very difficult to limit yourself with free samples and the like. So to avoid the buzzed driving, next time I'll get a cab and keep a bar stool occupied for a few hours. read more

This, not so micro-brewery is home to one of the best craft lagers that I have had. The Mexican Logger is light and crisp without the usual micro- brewery sour finish. Whether draft or can, their beer is delicious and consistent. read more

We really enjoyed Ska Brewing. We each got a flight of tasters and a full pour to follow, and we ordered some food. The food seemed to take forever and was alright, the beer was pretty great though! I'm a big fan of sour beers so it was nice that they had a variety of sours for me to try, my favorite of theirs being their Pink Vapor Stew. Would have been interested in some of their schwag clothing but ended up not getting anything because the women's sizes were really small... But overall was a fun time. read more

Greek pizza was also delicious. Got a big pizza oven and visible kitchen, folks look hard at work making great food. The taproom is really great. Large with lots of seating. Attentive bar tenders that know about the beers they're selling. I'm just not a huge fan of their beers which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. But I'm sure many people do love their beers. read more

Excellent Brew and Food and the staff are awesome :) Sampled a number of brews here and all were really good. Went to visit based on a taste of their True Blond Ale with a recommendation to try their Mexican logger and ended up on the Pink Vapor Stew (Sour Ale) Great clhoices of beers with the Alcohol content and IBU clearly displayed. Tasting is not a problem with multi-choice available and the Bar staff are willing to talk to you about the Beer the brewery the area and "How I ended up in Durango " :) Not to be missed if you are ever in Durango :) read more

Great place for some delicious pizza and local brews. It was really busy even during the lunch time on weekday but obviously for a reason. Went there initially the observe the cargo container structure but it was only a partial structure but still worth your time. read more

They were slammed and the host handled herself so well. We sat at a table close to the host stand and watched multiple people make snide remarks to her about a wait even though she over estimated wait times and were seating in a very efficient manner. Kudos to her for being so composed after being the punching bag for many impatient people tonight. We got sat before our estimated wait time, drinks and food were both delicious and hit the table at a reasonable time. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Durango! read more

Beer was ok, service was non existent. That's because you order inside, food one place, beer another place. No one cams out to see if we wanted more beer or food or anything. Then, an employee came down the hill on a skateboard, my dog freaked our. So, he decided to come back by our table and make a "heaaa" sound. Then, he visited with some customers he knew, but instead of going inside, he chose to skateboard back & forth in front of our dog again! Not a dog friendly or people friendly place. OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!! Wow! This place..... this place is downright phenomenal! I was in Durango last weekend for a mini vacation, and my main purpose there was to hit up all of the breweries... because beer is the nectar of life. So top of my list was Ska. We pull up to it and it seems a little iffy, it is located behind a mechanical shop or something like that, in the industrial part of town. I park my car and on my way in is about 6 people sitting in lawn chairs in the dirt parking lot drinking 23 oz. beers. we are then greeted by a friendly labrador retriever. we walk into the tasting room/bar and the only person inside is the girl behind the bar. We ask her how much a tour is and she looks at us puzzled.. then says "do you... want me to just show you around?". Awesome! Free tour! So she shows us through the brewery and shows us all the steps they go through to make each of their beers, she even lets us eat a little of the chocolate grain, which was quite lovely. We then go back to the tasting room to start trying the beers... now, I have three words that go together VERY well........ FREE UNLIMITED SAMPLES! I tried them all, twice! After we got all of our tasting out of the way, we each ordered a pint of our favorite. How much did we pay, you ask? well a whopping $2.00 a pint! We spent a good part of our day in this place chatting up the barkeep and discussing politics and sports. Within an hour the place was FILLED with all the local laborers who work in all the factories surrounding the brewery. I would consider moving to Durango just so I can frequent this place! So if you ever find yourself on a ski or rafting vacation in the beautiful Durango, Colorado, GO TO THIS PLACE! read more

I am a big fan of microbrews, good food & fun... I have purchased the SKA beers on numerous occasions and thought it would be a great experience to stop in to one of their local brewery/restaurant spots. BIG MISTAKE!! This place has a lot to be desired. Its seat yourself, waited nearly 10 minutes to be recognized then 5 more for the menu...several times were told "I'll be right with you"...witnessed the wait/bartending staff socializing behind the bar as we were still waiting...20min later(after getting the menus), we left. Spent 35 minutes in this place, for no good reason. I am all about a place being slammed and the staff being crazy busy and waiting but, it was not that busy! Sad, cuz the beer is so good! Man, when did ska turn into a McDonald's? I remember when, after a day of snowboarding and having fun, ska was a chill place that you can grab a pint and hang out with your friends. Now, kids are running everywhere and the food was ok. I understand that kids will be kids but when people are out drinking beer the restaurant has a responsibility to other paying patrons Take charge and take control of your restaurant/brewery. I have always been a huge fan of Ska brews. The Pin Stripe is a classic. The menu was mostly what you can get in the variety-pack. The Greek and Works pizza was pretty good. The burger was pretty good. The chicken wings were alright. It's kinda like finally going on a first date with the girl of your dreams and finding the evening sorta lackluster so you start drinking a bunch of beer and suddenly things start going alright but then you bring the growler back to your apartment only to find out that you don't really have it in you to commit so you leave her in the fridge and she gets all flat and lame and then your friend comes over and is really into it so you just sorta watch as he downs the whole thing right in front of you! I think maybe I'm just still wanting that first growler I ever had. You know, the golden IPA from Pittsburgh....but she's gone...she's gone. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go when I am in the Durango area. They have so many great brews and a very fun atmosphere to hang out in. The bartenders are so friendly and helpful in deciding what kinds of beers you should try. A couple of my favorites are Pinstripe, True Blonde, and their summer seasonal Mexican Logger. In the summers when I lived in the area they had local music outside that was always a great time. read more

Alright, so I live here. So shoot me. That doesn't mean that me claiming Ska to be one of the best breweries in not only Colorado, but the United States, should be given any less weight. I've been to a lot of breweries and have tried a lot of different brews, and I have run into very few breweries that do EVERY beer very well. Almost every single beer I've had from ska has been great, except for one six pack of Mole Stout that just seemed like it was a little off from the Mole's usual excellence. To have that kind of consistency and to do so many styles of beers so well is mind blowing. From the Modus Hoperandi to the Mexican Lager (one of the best summer beers of all time) to the Nut Brown to the Seasonal Stout Series, every one of them is delicious (and so are all the others). There are only a handful of breweries in America that do it as well, and do it well as many times over as Ska. We are lucky to have them here. So enjoyed our visit to the brewery. The beer is great(Mandarina is my fave), the vibe is casual and very family friendly. Wish we had been able to take a tour but we got there too late. The container has ok food. We enjoyed the artichoke dip but found our pizza to be lacking. The service at both was great and we'll definitely be coming back on our next trip to Durango. read more

Best beer in Durango. They have a beer for everyone. Pinstripe ale is at the top of my favorite list followed by True Blond. They usually have a good seasonal beer as well. Ska is situated in an area of Durango called Bodo Park. They renovated an old building into their new brewery and I believe it was one of Durango's first LEED buildings. Be sure to check out the Thursday night Ska-becue in the summer. Live music and a free barbecue. read more

I have always enjoyed Ska's beers and finally got around to visiting this place in person. They had all their beers on tap as well as bottled in the fridge for purchase and they also had a side area to order some food. Overall its a pretty laid back brewery with good beer. I do wish they would stay open a little later as they are closed sundays and only open until 8pm. They also do brewery tours daily at 4pm which I thought was pretty cool. read more
