All you can eat shrimp, steak w/ mushrooms, & buttery, creamy baked potato - YUM!!
Kris G.

We were happy to find this Sizzler while visiting family - we saw it in passing & started to crave that cheesy, toasty bread. The lady taking our order at the register asked about extras I didn't even know about... mushrooms, onions, avocado, etc. I got the steak w/ mushrooms, all you can eat shrimp, & baked potato; the hubbs got a sirloin burger w/ fries extra crispy. The fries were perfect, the steak was good/ cooked properly, the shrimps were plump & abundant! We each had 2 pcs of that crack bread, we got a peach lemonade, & left room for a soft serve cone. It was MLK Monday & it was packed. The poor young lady waiting tables was all alone, serving the entire restaurant. We told her she was doing an awesome job, keep it up, & then left her a nice tip for hustling. Keep this hard working young lady, Sizzler! It was so good, we told our family & they went the next night, after we left!

It is actually open. Hard to tell from the street side as the parking is in the back and hard to see if people are inside. But they were quite busy the night I visited. I so miss the Sizzler to that closed in my home town so many years ago. Glad I looked closer at this one. Prices are up all over, but it was a treat to have the salad bar and a delicious double Malibu chicken dinner. Cooked just right. And oh, the cheesy bread! LOVE CARBS. Inside has a lot of seating. It was not sparkling clean, but not dirty. The service station should be more covered from view as it makes it feel less inviting...a little. Details like that add/subtract from the ambiance.

Food was very burnt and over cooked , never had a baked potato that was as hard as this one . Not what I expected. Salad bar was a mess all over with brown lettuce. Service could be a lot better . There was a lot of spots on the glasses and plate . Also came with my husband who's allergic to shell fish . They did not properly sanitize there spoons had to rush to the er

So let me tell you, I have not been to a Sizzler restaurant in years. Even when there was one close to my house, I rarely visit it. I was in the Sacramento area recently and decided to take a leap of faith and have lunch here. Surprisingly enough, I was not disappointed at all. When I stepped in, it brought back a little bit of nostalgia in me. Sizzler was our go to place back in the days. Yes, prices have increased but it is what it is. I got a free malibu chicken meal for their anniversary email rewards and I added a ayce salad bar on the side. My server, Irene, was so sweet and attentive to my needs. There's not too many people like that nowadays. The place was actually big, spacious and clean. It may not be gourmet food but definitely good enough to fill you up and feel satisfied.

AC at 99 degrees indoors!

AC was broken and it's been like this for a while now. We came in on Monday Labor Day and it was 99 degrees inside and 104 outside. Everyone was sweating. This is not healthy!

So the wifey and I are day drinking our way thru Oak Park on this particular Saturday and as we…read morewere kinda walking aimlessly after a few beers at a local brewery-we ran across this simple unassuming door with the name The Butterscotch Den written across it-it's kinda crazy because I had no idea where this bar was and for sure didn't know it was in Oak Park-I couldn't have been happier as this bar has been high on my must visit list for months. When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

To start we ordered the Peach Fizz, Cucumber Basil Gimlet and Truffle Fries to share. The drinks were great and refreshing and the fries were perfectly crispy - the garlic aioli tied it all together. We were hungry so we each ordered an entree which we later learned was a mistake - we should have just shared 1 or 2 entrees because it was a lot of food. We ordered the Braised Pork Shank, Dry-Aged Ribeye and Chicken Confit -- we also shared a Caesar Salad. Everything was plated beautifully and I enjoyed my Ribeye, but we all thought the entrees were a little under seasoned for our liking. We didn't send anything back, but we did unfortunately have to ask for salt and pepper. Our server was very apologetic and even comped us a free dessert which she did not need to do, but we greatly appreciated it. It was the bread pudding and it was so good! Overall, I enjoyed the meal. I wasn't blown away by anything, but it was a good meal and I would definitely come back and give them another chance. Our server was wonderful too and she more than made up for the whole experience!

Consistent spot in Sac…read more.. Came here for lunch. Ordered a few apps and one main. Favorites were the bone marrow, burnt ends and the crab cake. Oysters were good, just they only had the one option, and size wise they were at the max of what I can handle. The only food item we didn't love was the steak. We ordered it medium rare, and it was rare and a tad cold. That was probably due to the service. Our waiter was the only one covering the entire floor, which included a big party in the back. That led to long wait times for food. Overall place is nice, food is consistent, just maybe a tad understaffed.

For small plates, we ordered the portobello mushroom fries and the pork belly burnt ends. The mushroom fries were delicious, especially paired with the dipping sauce on the side. The pork belly burnt ends were packed with flavor and had an amazing glaze. The portion was definitely on the smaller side, but still worth it for the taste. For drinks, we tried the Blueberry Bliss, Pig & Lady, and the Blackberry Margarita. The Blackberry Margarita was easily our favorite -- not overly sweet and perfectly balanced with the margarita mix. For the main course, the three of us shared the porterhouse bone-in, tomahawk bone-in, and the ribeye cap filet. All three steaks were incredible, but the porterhouse stood out as the best overall. The marbling was perfect, and every steak was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were a little underseasoned, but honestly paired well with the richness and saltiness of the steaks. The mac & cheese, however, was absolutely outstanding. The only downside was the ambiance due to how busy Mother's Day weekend was. The restaurant was extremely smoky and very hot inside, and it seemed like there wasn't enough ventilation. We completely understand longer wait times during a busy holiday weekend, but it would've been more comfortable with better airflow. Even some of the staff near the front looked overheated and were fanning themselves. That said, our server Christian made the experience even better. He was attentive, accommodating, and gave excellent recommendations throughout the night. Overall, despite the ventilation issue, the food and service absolutely made this a place we'd come back to.

She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. We also ordered the Brie and bacon jam appetizer and one of our party had a Caesar Salad. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as well. Everything was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The proteins were substantial, well worth the price. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!
