The atmosphere was lovely and fun, I enjoyed seeing the cowboy rustic theme throughout the room. I think because we were in great company the over all experience wasn't necessarily bad, my chicken sagebrush was okay, but definitely would have ordered another item on the menu. A couple of guest really enjoyed their burger and steaks. The one critique that really tainted the experience was the wait time. We waited a little over an hour for food. Our server was great, but I noticed our drink orders weren't ready until about 15-20 minutes in. A majority just being fountain drinks. Some communication could have helped ease the anxiety about waiting on food however I noticed it was just an extremely busy night. I think this could have been a 5 star place, just expect a bit of wait if you're doing large table celebrations.

This time around, we had a slightly larger party since there were more of us at the raceway this day and we were excited for our friends to finally try Baracoa. We've always had maybe 1 or 2 dogs with us and so we'd sit out on the patio. These dogs are quiet and obedient. They just lie under the table at your feet and are never restless & never beg/bark/whine. Since we had a larger party and now 3 dogs with us, maybe it drew more attention? Our waiter said that he will have to ask the boss if it's okay that we have dogs since usually it's policy to not have dogs on the premises. We were so confused since we've been coming here. The boss/owner/manager, I can't remember exactly his title, came outside and let us know that unfortunately, pets are not allowed, even on the patio. We were all taken aback with nothing to say except having dropped jaws as he was walking away. Before he completely left our sight, we asked when that became a policy since we have always been here with dogs. He said it's always been a rule and cannot speak for his employees and the decisions they make when he's not there. He goes on to state that the pets are unclean and that he has customers. In that moment, I thought, "What are we then? Have we never been customers?" With a firm tone, he asked us to cooperate. It would have been a different kind of feeling if this boss had said ANYTHING along the lines of, "We would love to have you back to dine with us, but please without your dogs." This interaction felt like major rejection, hate towards pets, and to just get out immediately. We had already ordered 3 cortado frios, which I always think is to-die-for here, and that will be our last sips from them. It was also way more sweet than strong this time, sadly. We will not be returning to this establishment.

I've been here 3-4 times now, and every single visit has been consistently amazing. That's hard to find! Yes, it is on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it's absolutely worth it. The staff is wonderful, the ambiance is beautiful, and the upscale décor makes the whole experience feel special. I dined here several years ago and remember thinking the food was good, I came in again today for lunch. I arrived when they opened at 11:00 am. Glancing at the menu I noticed the Mega Bacon Burger which consists of a Half Pound Burger topped with American Cheese and Bacon., that sounded good so I ordered it. I also ordered a drink. I paid, grabbed my tray, and took a seat. This is a nice sized restaurant with a combination of booths and chairs, there is a separate dining area at the west end of the restaurant that has a sliding door to close it off from the rest of the diners. Perhaps this is for large groups to reserve? The restaurant looked very clean and it is done up in earth tones of greens and browns with the salad bar counter done in gray granite. The overall effect is very pleasing. A server brought me my drink and informed me that her name was Maria and that she would be my server. She told me that the Mega Bacon Burger comes dry and asked if I wanted anything to top it with. I asked if she could bring a side of Thousand Island and she said sure! About 15 minutes later Maria brought my burger, I added the Thousand Island and took a bite. I had hoped it would be good but this was the best burger that I have had in quite some time, it was hot, juicy, and loaded with bacon. It was cooked just the way I had asked for and was good to the last bite! Maria was a great server, friendly, attentive, and always smiling. Tired, old, gristly and greasy meat perfectly set off by torn vinyl seats straight outta the 70s (and I don't mean the 1970s), a musty smell, and service that varies from invisible to superific depending on the staff. (Chose friendly older women-the younger ones are often inefficient and rude). Bring a magnifying glass to see your 8 shrimp if that's what you fancy. Also be prepared to beg for extra buffet plates-the staff brings them IF and WHEN they choose. Much better steakhouses around. Update: Store reopened under corporate management. WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT! Today we visited the 'renovated' sizzler in Palmdale. They recently held a ribbon cutting for the Grand reopening. Though the food and service were still good, we saw NO signs of any renovations. The seats were well worn, the carpet was dirty and tattered in some areas. Just a little confused why they were closed for so long with no noticeable difference. read more

I have had Rachel twice in the past and each time we had bad experiences. Though, I wanted to change servers, it was an hour before closing and noticed there was not a lot of employees present. Rachel has always had an unpleasant attitude while serving us, she appears passive aggressive, our orders come out wrong, we have to ask various times for items such as extra ranch. The first time she served us which was in 2025, she missed my whole entree and blamed it on being new and the restaurant being busy. I canceled the entree. I haven't been here in about 3 months and I noticed a lot of has changed such as the bread, we received a white rolls and they now charge 3% to use a credit/debit card. Every time I asked Rachel a question, she would walk away while answering the question and did not answer the question fully. She appeared as if she was bothered by us. I had a free entree and I told her I wanted to apply it my husband's steak entree. She came back with the bill and she took off my salad. I told her again, I wanted it to be taken off for the steak entree and her response was "the system does it automatically" and walked away without letting my respond. I do not believe this to be true because I am a frequent guest and I know I can use my free entree on whatever I want. Unless this also has changed. Rachel never came back to our table after waiting ten minutes thus we went to the front desk. The girl working the front desk on 09/11/2026 around 9:45pm was very pleasant and helpful. Rachel saw us talking and came up. When the girl told Rachel what I was requesting, Rachel stormed past her and stated, "you need to call Brian for that" and walked away. Brian, who I assume is the manager, arrived to front desk to help me and he made the adjustment. However, he didn't apologize for the inconvenience nor did he ask me how my night/meal was. Our anniversary was only acknowledge by the front desk girl. Rachel never said anything about it. Rachel M. has a very bad attitude. I do not like to believe this is racial but at this time it could be. As I have now had three bad experiences with Rachel M. since 2025 at the Lancaster location. If things do not begin to improve at this location, Lancaster may forced to shut down as Texas Roadhouse is being built across the street. Servers like Rachel M. will make it easier for us loyal customers to transition over. The food quality went downhill. The filet mignon was rough. I ordered a chopped steak cobb salad but nothing was chopped. I got old pieces of bacon ripped in half, a whole boiled egg, and overdone steak on top. I had this same salad over a year ago and it was excellent. Not sure what is going on but it is terrible.

None of the other three of us wanted crab, so the only solution was to have our party split up and sit at separate tables. Then it got even more frustrating. The three of us ordering the all-you-can-eat shrimp were told that we all had to choose the exact same spice level/flavor because they bring the shrimp out together as one order. So even though each person is paying for their own all-you-can-eat meal, we apparently aren't allowed to choose how we want our own food prepared. That makes absolutely no sense to me. If I'm paying for my own meal, I shouldn't be told that I have to order a $70 crab meal simply because someone else at my table wants it. And if three people are each paying for an all-you-can-eat shrimp meal, each person should be able to choose the spice level they actually want. We came here expecting to enjoy a meal together as a family. Instead, we were told we had to split our party between different tables just to order what we wanted, and then were still told what we could and couldn't order. For an all-you-can-eat restaurant, there seem to be an awful lot of restrictions on what paying customers are actually allowed to eat. Very disappointing experience, and definitely not what I expected when bringing my family here.

Nevertheless, I did manage to talk Mr. Picky into heading out east a significant distance to try the place because I had a backup plan in case they were closed. Our waitress was Tiffany and I cannot say enough good things about her. She had a great smile, had good energy, and bent over backwards in order to meet our requests and ensure that we enjoyed eating at the restaurant. We started with the soup du jour which was Chicken Enchilada. Wow moment. Yummy and one of the best soups I've eaten in a long time. Spicy, not too spicy, filled with corn and beans and cheese sprinkled on top. So, so good! Gold star to the genius chef behind that recipe. We unfortunately arrived on a day when they had a shortened, reduced menu. We had driven a significant distance to try the Firecracker Chicken which was not on the abbreviated menu. However - Tiffany to the rescue - our waitress asked the kitchen staff if they would prepare it for us, and they agreed to do so. Wonderful cooperation in the back and on the floor. Mr. Picky liked the chicken, we both thought the mashed potatoes were pretty good, I tried the squash side vegetable and enjoyed it very much because it was seasoned well, we liked the cornbread with honey butter, but our tummies ran out of room and we had to take the baked beans home with us. (Hint for a fabulous breakfast, somewhat English style, is to get buttered toast topped by fried eggs and then loaded up with piping hot baked beans spooned all over it. There is a good use for these leftovers :-) !) Soft folk music was playing in the background, or actually I think those were hymns played folksy style, very cute. We finished by sharing a large scoop of their homemade salted caramel ice cream, and liked it. The place seemed very clean, comfortable seating, not fancy, but a perfect fit for the menu. I had no idea there was a religious college out east, this one is Baptist, nor that they had a restaurant where the students can work, but it's a great idea and a good way to integrate the community with the school. Overall, we both said we would go back to try other things.

I was told by the cook, who had to come take my order that the person who normally answers the phone has been in the restroom. Meanwhile there's a toddler running around in the cooking area. I'm not sure what's going on but this location has been one of the good ones. I think management needs to get their team together. This was a crazy experience.
