What we saw upon arrival.
Jess A.

We stopped by Sizzler today for lunch, arriving right as they opened--11 a.m. on the dot. I had my eyes on the salad bar, my mother was craving a steak, and her friend joined me in enjoying all the fresh options from the bar. There's definitely an upside to being one of the first people in: everything was fresh, crisp, and untouched. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and calm--a nice way to start the day, (or in our case end it since it was the stop before nap time). The salad bar was almost perfect... though I did miss seeing the broccoli salad that's usually front and center. Still, I enjoyed everything I tried. The mini tacos are really good in the salad bar along side the nachos I made myself. Now for the downside--when my mother placed her order, the woman taking it (Marisol) seemed a bit impatient. My mom was just trying to decide how she wanted her steak cooked when Marisol snapped, "It's either medium well or well done--that's all we do!" It felt unnecessarily rude, especially considering both of my lunch companions are in their 70s and 80s and just needed an extra moment. Thankfully, my mom didn't really catch the exchange, too busy making her way to the table. When the steak came out, it was well done--overcooked for her taste--so she ended up sending it back. Aside from that hiccup, the meal was fine overall. The salad bar saved the day, but the customer service could use a little warmth and patience. Will we be back? Sure, Sizzler will always hold a special place in my heart as it was my very first job as a teen back in 1993/94 and I always do really enjoy the salad bar and all its offerings.

Women bathroom needs to clean and the party room needs the waitress to comdate and be more organized in their especially asking for refills and shrimp

Good food. Love the salad bar and side bars. It's a little pricy right now but had to come anyway.

Exterior.. figured we'd share a pic since we forgot to take pictures of our food. ‍

It's Sizzler. They haven't gone bankrupt yet. Something obviously works right for them. Now shut up and eat.

I had high expectations based on the reviews, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to…read morethe hype. The restaurant itself is beautiful and in a great location, but the food, service, and overall experience were disappointing. I ordered the filet medium rare, and it came out extremely burnt on the outside while still very undercooked and almost bleeding in the center. When I mentioned it, they initially offered to "throw it back on the grill," but since the outside was already burnt, I declined and asked for a fresh steak. The replacement took about 30 minutes, after we had already waited roughly 40 minutes for our original food. We also rarely saw our server throughout the meal, although his assistant was very kind and attentive. The potatoes and asparagus were overcooked, lacked flavor, and overall the sides were underwhelming as well. What surprised me most was still being charged for the steak after it took two attempts and I barely ate it. For a restaurant with such strong reviews and a high price point that comes with it, I expected much better quality and service. I understand many people seem to love this place, but based on my experience, I would be unlikely to return and personally would not recommend it.

For my drink I wanted a Roy Roger's, they didn't have grenadine, but John being the best ever came up with the option to try it with watermelon syrup. Boy oh boy was it sooooo tasty and good. I love how they were creative to make something similar to what I wanted. With that being said, the customer service was awesome!!! John had the best personality and handled our alterations to the fullest. I know with my fam we can be a lot because of what we don't like, but John took it like a Pro!!! Was super chill and wit! A very cool guy!! He's been working there for like 10 years too so trust his suggestions :) The ambiance is nice and really clean and they have good options of seafood to choose from. I like how after when your done eating they give you this cleanser they created to clean your hands so they won't smell like fish etc. I will definitely come back here again and try their lunch specials and shrimp!! We even got a fly in the bottle of water the bring to you at the end of the meal. Waited and eventually had to ask for a drink we ordered they forgot. No mention of any thing to try or suggestions. They brought the appetizer then a minute or so after they brought the main dish. I hate when they do this. No hot sauces at the table, never got ask if we wanted dessert. Hopefully, they can replicated the magic of the past.

A couple weeks ago, we finally made it to dinner here, and I'm impressed…read more We started with apps: fried oysters (because I always like), and the coconut snails. Let me say the snails were a highlight. Surprisingly tender and flavorful. Sometimes, snails can have a livery / dirt / bitter flavor, but not these. And we were lucky rice wasn't on the table, because we would have stuffed ourselves eating rice with that wonderful sauce. Next comes the boil itself. My wife insisted on "no-spice" (ugh). But I got a side of the house sauce with med-spice. Let me tell you. That sauce. Again, good thing no rice on the table, because I'm already drowning everything in that sauce. Esp the garlic bread. The seafood was fine. You're not at the pier / Hawaiian beach / HK wet market fresh off the boat & straight into your mouth scenario. But fine. We're planning to be there again tomorrow. BTW, that boy scout selling popcorn a few years ago? He made it. He's now an Eagle Scout. Thanks again for the icy refreshing drinks on a hot day.

They also had all-day Happy Hour deals on Wednesdays. Loved the decor of this restaurant, just an incredibly cool vibe with elaborate Japanese-Mexican fusion art, neon, and even a huge rainbow color-changing tree in the middle of the dining room. We had calamari, corn ribs, steak tacos, king roll, dragon roll, pork belly bowl, and everything was well-cooked and tasty. The hot sauce they give is hot, fair warning! The dishes are complex with lots of varied flavors, which is a good thing because it's not just simple and boring, but it does take time to read the menu carefully. That's probably on us, lol. We will definitely return. Gorgeous restaurant and delicious food, decently priced for what you get.

I had been wanting to try Geisha ever since it opened, and when I heard it was under new…read moremanagement, I became even more curious. We visited on a weekday evening for dinner and found that the restaurant had largely retained the same look and layout from its days as TAPS. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only a couple of other occupied tables during our visit. While the menu offered a variety of options, it looked limited and, more importantly, significantly overpriced. Signature rolls ranged from $24 to $26, and even a simple pork-and-rice dish was priced at $25. We ordered the Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta, the Dragon Roll, and two fish tacos. Unfortunately, this is where the experience took a disappointing turn. The Dragon Roll, despite its premium price, looked very basic, consisting mostly of rice with very little filling. The quality and presentation reminded me of sushi from a grocery store counter. The Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta was essentially chicken Alfredo with red bell peppers, served with a slice of basic buttered toast. The fish tacos were another letdown. For $16, the plate included only two small tacos with no rice, beans, or side dishes, just the tacos themselves. To make the experience even more unpleasant, there were no complimentary appetizers, such as bread or edamame, to enjoy while waiting for the meal. The food overall was underwhelming and did not justify the prices being charged. The one bright spot was the service, which was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, Geisha failed to deliver the quality or value its prices suggest. Save yourself the time and money and visit virtually any other restaurant in downtown Brea instead. You'll thank me later.
