Top class service & top class New York Strip 12oz! Great ambiance and even better food!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR CASH HERE!!After 20 years John sold and the place is a wreck ! What a shame .... Salad bar was warm , the A/C the lady said , was working we sweated our asses off while we ate . Floors were sticky at that point we knew something was wrong ! I hope we don't get sick . I knew something was up when the party of six or more next to us left more than half their food on the plate. What a shame the good old eateries of good food and great service are gone!!! I just hope we don't get sick.... Bad name for Sizzler brand!! GR. read more

The food was great, fast and friendly service. The waitress is so sweet and attentive. I love bringing my family here.

Had me waiting for over 30 mins when I asked about my food they had no idea what I had ordered! Horrible service! Very disappointed

I was here, the service was pathetic and the staff/ cashier gave attitude it was just not a good place to go. I just didn't like the way the lady would slam the plates. Now I know not to come here ever again, the food was just not good, it is just not worth it honestly,I would give this place no stars. read more

I've been to many Sizzlers in my time, but this was an exceptional visit. I first was greeted by the cashier, whom was very efficient and friendly. Second, I was greeted by Douglas, the manager who asked if there was anything I needed. Then my server, Lisa came to the table, and again asked if there anything I needed. A few minutes later, my lunch arrived. The food was hot, and looked really good. Throughout my time there, I was asked if I needed anything else. Always was made to feel as if I was the reason they were there. The restaurant itself is small, reminded me of a coffee shop, rather than a place you could get lost. As you can tell, I'm very impressed by this restaurant and it's staff. read more

The food is overpriced for the Quality the salad bar is limited and not good at all $15 for the salad bar and is verily anything on it, food arrived late and was cold and didn't tasted good it was a complete appointment. read more

Really enjoyed my meal. Server, Emilio, was very pleasant and helpful. Tended to our needs quickly and with awesome energy. Love this place.

My family and I came to have lunch to celebrate my son's end of the school year. It has been a really long time since we ate a Sizzler and I was not disappointed. Our food did not take long and the server was attentive to what we needed. Overall a very satisfying lunch & experience. We will definitely come back again ! read more

After seeing that this place had only three stars, I decided to go anyway. I figured the reviews were old enough that this place needed a little updating. This was the most quiet sizzler's Ive ever been to. I enjoyed the noise level. It was mostly seniors here this night. Im not sure if that is why some of the food I'd categorize as pretty bland. I only ordered the salad bar tonight. Here's how the not so enjoyable foods went. Spaghetti noodles overdone, probably sitting there too long. The noodles that were hanging out of the water and on the heating table were dry and crusty. Bland noodles, too. Spaghetti sauce was a bit thin & watery. Bland sauce. Beef fajitas tasted good, but they must have used beef jerky for the meat. It was really dry and crunchy. Chicken Noodle Soup had no soup to serve. The noodles had been sitting there so long, they had absorbed all the broth. Now they were just mushy. Bland noodles/broth (what little of it I got). Southern Chipotle Salad was...meh... I saw dressing on it... but really didn't taste anything other than the lettuce and fried wonton strips they put on it. They get a thumbs up for having those fried little corn nugget thingies that most sizzlers do. I always look for them. However, the ones here were soggy. I've never been heavy handed on the salt, but based on the clientele, I'm guessing they adjust the salt levels to be a little lighter for the older crowd. There were actual pros to this dinner... Mexican Rice was yummy--texture and flavor were good! Carnitas were good. Salt was spot on. :) Watermelon was sweet. Orange slices were sweet. Bread Pudding was good. Griselda was quick to refill my drinks & bring me new plates. She was also quick to shoo away the peddler asking me for money -- yes, inside the restaurant! She also helped explain the menu/process to a customer who had never eaten at Sizzler before. Derek, the cashier, was also helpful with explaining best options (not me, the brothers who came in a few mins after me) All in all, I wish I didn't pay $12 for the salad bar & drink here. read more

The 2016 Yelp 500 - Review #189: 1. I pulled into the parking lot of the Sizzler. 2. I checked in via Yelp 3. I tried to enter the restaurant, only to find that it was closed. 4. I realized that the normal operating hours of many of the local stores and restaurants will take some getting used to. I'm not sure I even comprehend some place closing at 8 p.m. . In a household that nearly always dined at 5 p.m., my dad could often be heard saying, "Only the peasants dine before 9. Something he would say anytime dinner was late tl start or finish. I guess I took it a little too much to heart. Lastly I want to hear one of my favorite tidbits about Sizzler restaurants. in 1996 I began dating a woman from Singapore. When I was over there I wanted to treat her to a meal of her choice. So I asked her if she could dine on any foreign cuisine, what restaurant would she dine in? Without hesitation she said, Sizzler. Yes Sizzler was her favorite restaurant for foreign food. I chuckled because she was right. American Cuisine is foreign food to them. :-) Perhaps I will come back but I'm here on another day and properly review this location. Until that time, a three-star neutral review stand. read more

Sizzler sucks, idk why people like it here?! The food is mediocre, SMALL portions, and overall not that great. I'd rather go to a real restaurant and order some bomb ass food for the same price. The only reason I came here was because my dad wanted to try their steak out. I mean, the steak's flavor was good. And the service was really good as well. However, for the portions and everything else aside from the steak, ehh.. just go to home town buffet if you want sizzlers read more

I've lived around the corner from here for 4 years and it was my first time coming in today. Excellent customer service from the beginning to the end. My family and I enjoyed the salad bar $8.99 for adults and $5.99 for kids 10yrs and under. Very good food. I will be back soon. ;) read more

The environment was pretty nice honestly the manager Sam is very helpful and made sure our food was fresh, well done, and cooked to perfection. Overall customer service was great! Thank you again will be returning in the future! read more

This sizzlers has the worst food and service ever. All my family's steaks were hard, chewy and lacking flavor. The mushrooms were sitting in a pool of oil. Our plates were not being picked up by the server. Also, when I was getting fruit from the buffet area, worker Silvia (older lady with glasses) was tapping her fingers at me as a rude hurry up and get out of the way type of deal. Lastly, I went to the restroom and it's filthy. My family's bill was an estimated $120.00, for the cost I expect much more from Sizzlers and the workers. I am highly dissatisfied and disappointed. read more

Sizzler - Delicious Food With Amazing customer service - Seafood Near Me - Downey, California

I am writing a review on behalf of my mother who came out to eat here and Unfortunately has an unpleasant & horrible experience, where now I'm upset with the business & most of all staff My mother's meal was not cooked properly and when notified staff, the manager on duty approached and handled situation extremely inappropriate & unprofessionally I am extremely outraged and upset with the kind of treatment she received while dinning out as this should have been a positive, nice experience as it would have been anywhere else Not only was my mother yelled at and humiliated in front of other customers, but she was told an insulting remark afterward and left distraught I'm hoping this review will help upper management to look into the situation and better train their employees were they are respecting customers In a world where the customer has the choice to go to any restaurant and choose to go to one where they are mistreated is absurd and should not be tolerated and handled appropriately read more

First of all let me tell you what I ordered, it was a family dinner for 4 the shrimp meal and said pick 2 items picture shows 1 big salad 4 baked potatoes you figure thats what you would get. Well nope 1 salad 1 backed potatoe lol ‍ so I complained and gave me the rest. Well I will not be coming here again. read more

Such a family staple well at least for me . Good prices and decent food so I can't complain. Also the staff is so friendly and kind.

I always give the Benefit of the doubt, but yesterday May 29th, 2023, was the second time we received bad service at Sizzler in Downey. We ask for a plate and the cashier repeated to us and we said, no, that is not what want, we want this meal. We spoke in English and the cashier young man spoke back to us in spanish which I have no problem been Hispanic myself. We paid and when we got our meals 2 were different than what we asked. we asked if they could replace as we didn't order those meals. Manager got there and he said, this is what you ordered this is what you get. the meal that they were giving us was more expensive that our original meal. I asked since you haven't cook that second meal, please give us the meal that we orderded and he imply that we were trying to get a free meal. the assistant manger or lady behind the counter starting laughing and I ask don't make a scene as there are more customers listing to you.long story short, Manager very unprofessional said no, We ended up eating what they want us to eat. My 89 year old mother-inlaw couldn't eat what she wanted for her birthday.. There is no way I can give 0 stars. I have to give them 1 start and don't think the manager deserves not even the one start. Manager needs management training. Previous manager/ owner was very polite and costumer oriented. Sorry Sizzler but 2 times, come on. enough is enough. read more

This place is so friendly, it's the next best place to home. Owner (John) is very friendly and helpful. When ever I have my grandson, the first words out of his mouth is, Grandma are we going to Sizzlers! We love the service and the food is great, salad bar is always full and clean. So how many stars do I give them! 5 for sure. If you want a good friendly place in Downey to eat, then you should try Sizzler. Thank you Sizzler staff for always making it friendly for us. Okay sizzler everything is good okay well almost everything. Customer service is awesome, food is well prepared. There is only one problem... the restroom is hot as a sauna. Been coming here for a while and I must say it's an enjoyable spot that isn't overly packed on a Friday night. The servers are on point and are very attentive to my needs. The food is always great also, I always get the Malibu chicken with baked potato and it is always divine and crispy with all the cheesy ham flavors. Parking is easy as well never overly packed. It's just a trusty spot for me to come back, and a plus the ice cream is free. Will keep coming back!! A classic in my book. read more

Suzanne rocks! Been here several times but this is the first time I had the privilege of having her. She is all smiles and just a joy! My family and I were impressed! She made my birthday celebration that much better. .... in regards to the Sizzler it is on the smaller side, slightly smaller buffet but I like the cozy feel. They also have a banquet room you can rent or use without having to pay for the actual room, just your food! We will be using that for some of our church events! Thank you manager for the 411! read more

Never again, I see why there are going out of business. I took the family for a quick dinner Monday, June 12, 2017 , I was craving a good/fresh salad, but what I found was old/wilted dry looking that obviously had been there on display the entire day. They also used to have a fresh/hot taco bar, fried appetizers that to had been on display all day:( When I asked our waiter Marcos if they would make some fresh food for us he said sure, and dumped the old wings in some hot grease and said try these. lol really, is that customer service? I think not. Maybe you have to go there when the doors first open. read more

We went to Lakewood location @ Downey. We usually fo to out town Sizzler but I was sleepy and driving like that all the way to West Covina may be a bad idea. Then we stopped at Downey and ordered the same combination that we always ordered before. The 10oz with baked potato and salad bar. My wife grab the salad bar because she is pregnant and barely eat something then the options are usually the salad for me and she grabbed meat from my plate. But since few days ago she stop eating meat due to her symptoms. For our little one we ordered the kids burger. At the register that lady charge me a full salad bar. I tried to explain but she didn't accept it. My wife was really upset, she was close to ask to cancel the order and keep going to the other Sizzler. Few dollars don't make me rich or poor but the customer satisfaction should be the priority. Maybe other options or something smaller but the attitude to me was not the best. UPDATE: Manager come to our table because we found a hair on the food. After a very friendly conversation he apologizes for his employee's attitude and give us a gift card. Still not 100% happy but some other people at the restaurant was so worried about our situation. Thanks Luis and Cindy (puertorrican girl) tonbe part of the solution read more

My law firm took us out to this Sizzler for a lunch and I had such a great experience that I'm leaving a review for it.
