    Salmon Quinoa Corm

So really wanted to eat something else but because we were staying there decided to give it a try. It was pretty empty, though I didn't let that detour me. Our server was nice, but my first drink from the bar came out with a black 6in strand of hair in it, that I was shocked arrived at the table. It was long and dark black I saw it as it was being placed on the table. Our server picked it back up as I immediately let him know and he examined it and said he didn't see anything. My husband was floored and took a fork a picked the hair up like a noodle, then he goes ah I see. This was disappointing. Mistakes happen, but don't act like you can't see what's wrong here. I usually eat Salmon everywhere, but I opted for the fried chicken sandwich which was really good. I had to have them make another one I feel like the chicken was undercooked the first time, maybe rushed it out to me. Which didn't seem necessary since they weren't busy. However, once received cooked thoroughly it was very good. My husband's salmon had a really strong fish odor, which I thought was unusual (again I literally eat salmon everywhere). I might eat here again just for the chicken sandwich but only if I was staying there and was too exhausted to go anywhere else. Wouldn't recommend.

    Southwest Chicken Salad ($15 salad + $8 chicken = $23)

We're staying here at the DoubleTree inn and decided to get some dinner after arriving from the airport. We came at about 7pm and they were still open, not busy( there were only about 2 other tables there when we arrived). Service was good and pretty fast. We were in and out and under 1 hour (just my other half and I). I got the southwest Salad with chicken and wow the chicken was so good! I really enjoyed my salad (about $15 + chicken $8 so $23~ for my salad). My boyfriend had gotten the chicken sandwhich and that was super good too! Fries were delicious. We both enjoyed our meal after a super long day. Didn't get to try the wine or alcohol, but maybe later in our trip.

They recently changed the menu I ordered the short rib and chicken penne pasta for pickup. Short rib was so tender and pasta was so creamy, everything was delicious!!

Loved the food here . Usually order take out if it's open usually it's too late when I arrive . I love this Double Tree Property' because of the food . We had a rotini pasta with pancetta , wings and fish and chips . Let me say we were delighted with ever bite . We all enjoyed our dishes very much . Our server and bartender were both amazing and very attentive . The ambiance was very chill and low key but they do have a bar incase anyone wants to hang out there . Can't wait to eat here again .

    Chicken cobb salad

I was a little skeptical about trying this place out since my past experiences with restaurants in chain hotels have been a hit and miss. With that being said, I was pleasantly surprised this place was pretty good. The decor of the restaurant was nice, your typical hotel grill vibe. The food was good, I had the avocado toast which had a great twist to it. Lucky for me it, had two of my favorites mixed in one! Avocado toast with the ingredients of caprese on top. The only thing I would change is it definitely needed more avocado. You can never have too much avocado! I also had the chicken cobb salad, the grilled chicken had just the right amount of seasoning. The prices were pretty standard for a hotel restaurant, the parking within steps of the entrance.

    "Clam Chowder" ?!?

Came by for a complimentary breakfast buffet while staying at the Doubletree Norwalk. The experience was horrendous! The hostess was condescending when informing the Asian tour guests "We need ticket before eat!" ?!? She also did a good job of segregating the Asian vs. Hispanic guests in the dining room. She came by our table asking where we were from?!? The jokers running the circus were ghetto at best. There was a fly hanging out inside the ham for the omelet station. I tried to inform the "cook" and he assumed that I wanted a ham omelet ?!? My over-easy egg looked like s*it. ...this was the "cook" second attempt as he threw his first attempt in the trash when I wasn't looking. ...check out the "Clam Chowder"...looks like Oatmeal to me...

Four star goes to food and service. The place was pretty empty when we're there. My burger was tasty, even fries were good. This is not the best looking Double Tree I've been, though good food I had.

Good hotel food but it took forever to get it. We were the only ones in the restaurant so I'm not sure what the issue was. I'd give em another try.

After eating here several times I had to leave a review. The breakfast buffet is good, custom made omlets along with pre made French toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes with peppers and onions. There is also fresh fruit and cerial options Along with all you can drink juces. The dining options are good although the limits of the menu may put some off. There is a nice bar and during the week the happy hour specials are awesome, $3 margaritas and drafts, 1/2 price appetizers and friendly staff make for a great visit!

We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.

The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.

Everything was really good. The food was solid, and the pricing felt fair for today's world--not cheap, but not outrageous either. Honestly, since it's inside a hotel, my expectations weren't sky-high, but the food pleasantly surprised me. I'd definitely come back, especially to try their brunch. The reason it's four stars instead of five comes down to the atmosphere and staffing. The restaurant sits right in the hotel lobby with no walls, so you hear everything--hotel guests coming and going, music playing in the lobby, the TV from the bar, and general foot traffic. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxed dinner, this might feel a little overstimulating. Also, our waiter (who was great, by the way) seemed to be doing the job of about three people. He was taking orders, bringing drinks and food, running payments, and even delivering room service. The poor guy was working like he owed the hotel money. On a Friday night, they could definitely use more staff. That said, the food was good, the service was kind, and I'd still come back--next time probably for brunch.

The evening started off strong, as we stopped by during Hoppy Hour (around 9ish). There wasn't a wait, and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The front staff was nice and polite. She gave us the option of either a tall round table or a shorter rectangular table. We of course, opted for the slightly shorter (height-wise) rectangular table. Once we were seated, we were given the menu, and the waitress told us that we would be right with us. She stopped by to ask about drinks, and we opted for water. She dropped off water and came back with perfect timing because by then we were ready to order. I also love the simplicity of the menu. There really aren't too many options where you feel overwhelmed, but there are still enough choices to pick from. Shout out to the pastrami quesadilla, I didn't realize it had been swapped for a new menu item until I asked about it this time around, but I'll be waiting for its comeback! We ordered a few items: the mac and cheese balls, the Wagyu bone marrow burger with truffle fries, and a double smash burger with ribbed finger potatoes. We had to get the mac and cheese balls since it was Hoppy Hour! I also didn't realize that on Wednesdays, the double smash burgers are half off. I'll definitely remember that for next time. After we ordered, the food came out quicker than I expected. It was a nice surprise. I think the first item came out about 10 minutes after our initial order. The mac and cheese balls came out hot, which was great. The breading made them super crispy and gave a nice crunch that balanced really well with the softer, chewier mac and cheese inside. I was glad the inside wasn't too runny since that would have made it like lava! I didn't see a cheese pull this time, but next time I'll try again to see if I can catch one. It was a great start to the meal. The burgers came out shortly after we finished the mac and cheese balls. I totally forgot that the truffle fries came with sauce. I should have asked for the sauce on the side, but it wasn't a problem that it was added on top of the fries. It just made them get soggy a bit faster, but that's no problem; it just means I've got to work faster! The burger was good and came out super juicy. I asked for it medium, and it looked about medium, so no complaints here! I never realized before, but the bread was so fluffy... it was a super pillowy bun with a nice bounce to it. It definitely helped balance out the meatiness of the patty. The hint of tomato gave it a nice, refreshing bite and really helped cut through the richness of the meat. The onions also added a nice sweetness to the burger, which was appreciated. I also snuck a bite of the ribbed potatoes, and they were good as well. They were a bit crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside, with just a touch of saltiness. I also stole a pickle from the double smash and realized I probably should have asked for pickles on my burger, but I'll remember that for my next visit!

The only other time we saw her was after we flagged down another staff member because our fries were lukewarm. Unfortunately, the replacement fries were also lukewarm, so I'm thinking fries just aren't their specialty. I ordered the Al Pastor fish tacos. They were good, but nothing really stood out or made me want to order them again. I'm willing to give Eureka! another try because everyone has an off day.
