I ordered a lawnmower on Ace.com (don't). The mulch plug wasn't free to ship so I had it sent to Sister's Ace for pick-up. I decided I didn't need it, and forgot about it. When they asked me to come get it, I said could they return it. The woman said they would have to pay taxes and fees to return it. I offered to pay the fees and she said they couldn't collect the fees. So I drove to Sister's, picked up the GD thing to return it myself and save them $12.30. I look at how to return it "We recommend you return it to a retail store, where they will issue a refund minus fees". UGH! Never again any ACE. LOWE's is my suggestion. read more

Recently, I bought several items at this store in Sisters . Unfortunately, there were problems in the instructions in terms of my being able to follow through and do the water test I wanted. I was able to return the two different tests without any issue, and even with one of the packages outer wrapping removed and they still took it back with a full refund. In a subsequent return to the store, I was pessimistically looking for a very unusual type of lightbulb, one that I had never seen before, and, lo and behold, they has it and I was able to repair my lamp. Every time I shop here I am looking for very specific items and staff is always incredibly helpful! read more

I can't say enough good things about Ace in Sisters but I can say that I live here and this is where I choose to shop. They have the kindest, most knowledgeable staff that helps folks like myself with very little skill accomplish tasks around my house. I have shopped here for the past five years. At first, the selection was somewhat disappointing requiring a trip to Redmond or Bend. But, in the past couple of years, they have greatly expanded their business and their hardware stock is very complete. Rarely do they not have the tool or hardware object that I need to complete almost any project. Granted, their prices are sometimes higher than Lowe's or Home Depot but they are five minutes away from home not 30 minutes. Saving an hour of drive time and the cost of vehicle operation easily offsets the additional few cents a typical item costs. Also, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Ignore the 6 and 8 year old reviews. These days, Sisters Ace Hardware is the place to go. read more

I like this place.. I mean don't get me wrong it's no Lowe's but they usually have everything I need and it's close to my house.. they even have a nice paint selection and will custom color match paint for you .. Tip ... they will recycle your old paint here.. read more

Was in the other day,I was within 10 feet of 3 different employees,searched 2 different isles for certain sanding tool,not one said hello or asked if i needed help.Couldnt find what i was looking for,walked right past the cashier talking to another non busy employee ,not a peep,A business like this you would expect they would know something about the basics of customer service.The ace store in Redmond shut down,they had good service. read more

I would rather go to Lutton's Ace Hardware over going to the big box stores in Redmond or Bend. They generally have or can order in a timely fashion, usually less then three days, anything we need. Customers are always greeted when you walk in the door, and there is always an employee willing to help you find that hard to find part, tool or thingamajig! There customer service is OUTSTANDING! I have been a customer since 1998, I know where just about everything is in the store and I am still asked by the Store staff if I need help. read more

Went in for a small part. The part was $3.29. I have been a customer of this hardware store for 15 years under several owners. I knew that there was a minimum $5 to use a charge card, but who carries cash today. Anyway I went to the counter and the clerk refused to complete the purchase so I was forced to get something else. The folks in Sisters are held hostage as we are 20 to 30 miles from bigger stores so I bought another item that I didn't need to go over $5. I have spent a lot of money here over the past few years, but actually this finished me with this store even if the item is over the $5 limit. So if I need something I will wait until I go to Bend or Redmond to get it. Adios to Ace in Sisters! read more

I'm a local and I try not to shop here. Folks are nice but you pay 3x more than anywhere else...example need some small carabiners. First stop Luttons where I paid 2.79 ea! Stopped at Bimart--they had them too. Only they were .79 ea! Needless to say I'm returning the Luttons' ones. read more

We are NEVER disappointed with the service that we receive from the super friendly, attentive staff at 'Lutton's' - Daly Milroy and her team have customer service dialed in. They make it a point to know their customer's names - and greet each and every person; young or old, when they come through the doors. If they don't have what you need in stock, they can get it within a couple of days - with a smile. A comfortable, welcoming place to shop - a 'real, hometown hardware store'.
