Read the negative reviews, they're all spot on. The owner, Jim, is extremely rude, does not communicate, does a horrible job on anything you give him, and just plain doesn't care. I took him a tool for a warranty repair and he sat on it for 6 weeks. I called him at least 4 times to check in and every time he was rude, said he'd get back to me when it was ready, and never did. When I finally got it back there was no change - the issue was still present - but it was now missing a part! He's since promised to order me a replacement part, but guess what? He hasn't called me back on it and every time I check in it's as if he's never heard of the situation. I have zero faith he's ever going to get me that part. Run away from this guy. I can't recall ever having such a bad experience as a customer. read more

So I've had at least 8 tools fixed by these fellers Zero issues. I'm an equipment manager at a local business. They can only fix tools as fast as the manufacturer will send them the needed items to repair your tools. In my case I have very hard to find items (I searched for months) which they found and had it repaired, as soon as the parts came in. He will call you when your tool is finished, it's not like he has a giant staff. Overall Trade n Tools was a life saver for me. read more

My recommendation: if you're considering this place for warranty repair on a tool and need a quick turn around time, call the mfg and send it to them directly. This place is slow, the owner Jim Spano will insult you, and he will discriminate against you in a violent/hostile way if you don't look like him. I called the shop for warranty repair on a Dewalt weed whacker. The owner, Jim Spano, told me that if I didn't have a receipt it wasn't a big deal, they could look up the date code on the device. Seemed friendly over the phone. Fast forward one week and I take the tool in to the shop for repair... I showed Jim Spano and his wife my weed whacker and when I told him I didn't have the receipt he started making a huge deal about it, like he wasn't going to do the work. I reminded Jim that he told me I could use a manufactured date code on the weed whacker instead of a receipt, and he did this weird sneer/smile and took the weed whacker to the back room. He came out a few minutes later and rudely put the end of the weed whacked under my nose and showed me that he managed to find the date code. Very weird and unfriendly guy. Whatever, I'm friendly so I thank Jim for finding it and ask how to start the process. He leaves to help another customer and so hands me back my tool. At this time his wife starts helping me get the paperwork filled out. Then, it happened... Out of nowhere Jim Spano quickly walks right up to me, like 2 feet away, and sneers at me. Then he says, "I'm a racist!" and pauses. It seems like he's trying to tell me a joke so I ask him to stop before he gets to the punchline because racism is a serious topic and I just want to get my tool fixed. Genuine surprise fills his face and I can see him considering stopping the joke, but he continues anyway. Here's his punchline: "I hate yellow." Then he snatches the weed whacker and walks away. Never have I heard a racist admit it like Jim did, and then try to hide it behind such a flimsy joke. Even though he thinks he told an innocent joke, even the punchline could be considered racist! I left the weed whacker there but quickly went back to get it because I don't want to do business with people who try to intimidate others, don't respect their customers, tell them repairs could take a month or two, and are hostile jerks. When I calmly went back to pick it up, he once again seemed very confused. Then he got mad. Boy howdy! Did Jim get mad! Started cussing me out and saying I didn't have any balls. I'm not a coward or a wimp, and so I asked him what the joke meant because it still didn't make sense to me. He said it meant that he didn't like Dewalt tools (which are yellow). Why Jim Spano is a certified Dewalt repair center if he tells jokes that combine his racism with this hatred for yellow tools is beyond me. Jim has violent tendencies and I really don't want him being the way he was with me, with others. I try to see the good in people, but there isn't much there in Jim's case. Don't tolerate people like him giving Redmond a bad name. read more

The owner is very knowledgeable, helpful and always has what I need for far better a price than I expect to pay. I am always greeted with a smile from both owners and their pup. After dropping off a tool in February we were treated as an inconvenience when, in May, we inquired as to the status of our repair. Jim is prone to temper tantrums and hanging up on you is his way of dealing with sticky situations. Sad that this is our only "resource" for out of warranty Milwaukee tool repairs. Next time I'll just buy a new tool and save myself, and my co-workers, the abuse! I would have loved even an ounce of the pleasurable experience others have described in their reviews. read more

I've taken power tools for repair here twice & will never again. Always late and poor work. Dropped off a makita roto hammer recently & told it would be ready in a week. Called 10 days later and wife of owner answered with snarky attitude "we get lots of tools here & fix um first come first served, you're just gonna have to wait your turn". Two days later I get a call saying its done. The roto hammer had stopped hammering unless I put the tool in reverse, supposed to hammer both forward & reverse just like a drill. Picking it up owner guy says he called the factory & they told him to fix it so it would hammer in forward position, but not in reverse... I told the owner that didn't make sense. He smirked & sarcastically said "trust me". It was apparent he didn't like that I wanted my tool repaired when promised and did a patch job to get rid of me. I called the factory and told them what happened. The rep. said the factory never would have told him to make that kind if "repair" and sent me a prepaid shipping label to send it to the factory for repair. They also suggested i file a complaint with the factory so they can follow up on the way I was treated. I did. The owner of trade n tools has always had an edge to him, the kind of guy you don't want to turn your back on. I tried ignoring that and get along with him since I'm just picking up & dropping off tools for repair. At the end of the day it seems the owner can't find a way to treat his customers with respect. I'll send my tools out for repair in the future, not worth dealing with the BS dished out by trade n tools.. read more

Poor service. Owner is aggressively hostile. Explosive temper for no clear reason. There are better places to go to service equipment.

We use a variety of tools building our house, plus I'm an electrician and keep my work tools in top condition. I have been happy with all of the repairs done at this business. Also happy with value and quality of supplies and tools purchased here. They do a good job of getting warranty authorization on several brands of power tools. The only time it took longer to get a tool back was when parts are not readily available. read more

Love this place ! Where else can you get a wrench for like a buck or two. I needed a wrench for my tablesaw 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" and boom they had several ! Great little shop and super reasonable prices for sharpening tools. Only charged me $20 for sharpening 6 clippers from small size to large limb cutters. I was referred there by the people who mow our lawn as a friendly place with guys who know how to fix just about anything. Good find! read more
