I know Yelp is a very popular platform to check out places and see if it's worth stopping by, however I am new to Yelp and I'm happy I signed up all thanks to my server Isabelle. I came to sinigual yesterday night, I was seated right away but did not order anything until my brother and sister arrived. We had plenty of time to kill because we were waiting to catch a train. This place was packed, surprisingly food came out quick and so did our drinks. We started off with some house margaritas and a sampler platter that brings different things for you to try, I believe it's one of their starter plates. Later on we had some mix a match combinations that our server Isabelle recommended, I'm happy she did because we enjoyed her recommendations very much. At the end of our stay Isabelle asked us if we enjoyed everything and how was our experience since we told her it was our first time at this restaurant. We told her we were very happy that we decided to give it a try and very pleased that our service was excellent. I want to add that Isabelle, was busy, as I stated before the restaurant was packed and i believe she told us she was training another server a young man who she introduced us too. My reason behind this is that I feel that this industry is very underrated when it comes to the servers who work at these establishments, it's not an easy job and they don't get enough credit. it truly does make a difference to have a waitress or waiter who is on top of everything to make sure that you have a great experience which also encourages you to come back! She kindly asked me if I could write her a review, I almost forgot! Isabelle if you see this thank you for everything. And thank you for the time you took to chat with us and most importantly thanks for doing everything with a smile. Managers of sinigual you guys are doing great. The place looks amazing and it was very comfortable. Everything from the food to the service and even the restrooms were well kept. I will be back when I am in the area. 10/10 definitely recommend. read more

RACIST HOSTESS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PATRONS WITH COVID GUIDELINES..!!! The were absolutely disrespectful to us from the beginning. hostess was very disrespectful to us from the very beginning. One from our group heard her say racially charged things, as we were sitting by the front of the restuarant by the hostess booth. We had a group of 10 which is the limit per group as per covid protocols. We had an extra guest come totally 11 and they said we cannot sit together and unfortunately we would have to divide the group as per safety protocols... which was absolutely fine, I led the group and spoke to this respective hostess and told her do what you must, we want to have a good time but not at the expense of your establishment being compromised. So all she did was move the tables slightly apart and said now we are fine. 20 minutes later racked up a large bill, and her head chef personally comes out and tells us to leave. That we were breaking protocol and we were never allowed back. I lead the group made sure everyone followed the guidelines, which I guess the hostess was mislead and when she got caught on her misstep, put the blame on us and let us take the fall. We were threatened to pay the entire bill, even for items we haven't received as yet like bullies, we were threaten by them calling the cops and belittle by mockery.... it's all on my Instagram Page.... you can see the hostess mocking us. Unfortunately to not endure issues we played into their tactics and paid the bill... but I have already speaking to an attorney with footage I have and the dialogue that was taken place. Covid guidelines and safety is priorty, but using that as a financial gain to take our money kick us out and have new guests come in to bank more cash flow during these times is lowest of low.... Please don't waste your time at this unethical racist restuarant...!!!! read more

I haven't had the chance to review this amazing spot since I've been here so many times, but I have taken far to long to do it today. My first impression, I felt very welcomed from a beautiful hostess since I stepped in. Checking out the menu I felt like having a very rich meal, with carbs, protein, veggies, of course, that traditional authentic spicy Mexican salsa, so I went for the Filet mignon enchiladas. It was not just good, it was AMAZING, the chipotle mushroom sherry sauce was very rich and slightly spicy. Stuffed in the enchilada found a tender chopped filet mignon that combined with the enchilada salsa brought a party taste to my mouth. Not yet enough, there's a jumbo grilled shrimp skewer with peppers on top of the enchiladas. No regrets, it comes with refried black beans and pasilla-cilantro rice, I couldn't ask for more. I have to remark the enthusiasm and hard work of the restaurant team members, from managers to server assistants, there was someone always checking on my table making sure my glass was filled and my food needs were met. Specially my five stars server Gelsey, who always smile and engage my attention from the beginning. Restaurant atmosphere is always fantastic, agave plants, stars hanging from the ceiling and big wall to wall windows. Overall a solid spot for a fast lunch or dinner with amazing margs and friends. read more

My friend and I stumbled across this place today in Murray Hill while trying to grab lunch in a downpour. There's a nice row of outdoor seating with lights, and more importantly, heaters! There were maybe 15 tables outside, but my friend and I had the entire tent to ourselves (for reference, we dined from 12.30-2 on a Sunday); it seems like most of the patrons chose to dine inside. I wanted the most bang for my buck, and the waitress recommended the sampler platter to me, which came with 4 ribs, 4 pieces of quesadilla, 4 steak nachos, and 6 chicken taquitos for $26. The portion size was definitely quite good, and it was a nice little way to sample the appetizers. The chipotle and avocado sauce was definitely a highlight, as were the ribs and taquitos. My friend ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup, which looked like a fairly small portion but she said it was very good. We ordered cappuccinos to complete our meal, which were surprising delicious and unexpectedly one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had. Not too sweet, warm, not too bitter. The waiters were all very pleasant and all were wearing masks. One of ours was very friendly and even conversed with us a bit about his father, who came from Italy, which definitely made the experience more enjoyable. All in all, the food was very good, and it was a cozy little lunch escaping the rain! read more

I came here on a Wednesday night with a few co-workers (party of 8). I have to give this place an A+ for their decor. It is so lovely! We started off with guacamole which was made fresh at our table. I had a watermelon margarita adorned with a fresh piece of watermelon on the side of the glass. The drink was just a tad too sugary for me so I switched to the white sangria. Service was definitely lacking.. we had to wait a long while before placing our orders for entrees. Also, at one point it took about 30 minutes to flag down the server to take our drink orders. This was then followed by another long wait for the actual round of drinks to come to our table. As for my main course, I got a combination platter that included a chicken enchilada, steak taco, and chicken flautas, accompanied by rice, beans, pico de gallo, and guacamole. The chicken enchilada, rice, and beans very flavorful and not too spicy. The flautas and tacos were just okay. While I was underwhelmed about dinner, I have to say, dessert was absolutely delicious. We had the mexican flan which was decadent with a soft caramel layer on top. Loved it! Overall, this is a great spot for group outings. It's a shame that service was not at its best, but I hope it was just a fluke as I will probably return to this restaurant sometime in the future. read more

I was yesterday in this restaurant, first of all I'm a restaurant manager in New Jersey and as a manager I think part of our job is help our servers and bartenders, my waitress was a very polite lady Maria and I heard when the manager yelled her because in my table was an empty glass of water, I think he is no professional , my friend u must read the golden rules and know that u must help ur employees filling water and cleaning tables and never be disrespectful with them specially in front of customers!! I ask her how many busboys the restaurant has and she said one!! It's ridiculous u charged a lot of money for the food and u can even hire helpers for food servers, I have a very good service and she was very knowledgeable with the mezcales and tequilas that u have she recommended me an ilegal mezcal margarita and it was really good, food is 2 stars better food in dos caminos but my drink was amazing 5 stars for the server and bartender! Yesterday I was with my brother and we felt acts of racism on the part of the manager. We were eating and watching the football game and we ordered two drinks which felt low in liquor, and we ordered a shot on the side and the bartenders were very friendly but the manager Jair, when we ordered something, always asked them for the receipts. At the end we didn't want the shots and we listened asking the manager where they were. We asked them what the problem was, they explained it to us and I didn't understand what the manager's problem was. He was always seeing us with a bad attitude and we don't understand why. It was the worst experience and disrespectful just because we were black people!! what a fuck! never come to this place. We came in last Sunday for drinks and lunch and found the food and service outstanding. The Sample Platter at $22 is the deal of the day as far as what you get -- a large plate piled with a variety of tasty items. And how can you beat a $5 Margarita in such nice surroundings. We had the table-served guacamole -- yum. According to my friend, everything on the Sample Platter was delicious and the ribs, especially, were deliciously tender. I ordered the Filet Mignon enchilada (not quite tender enough for the price) which came with four roasted shrimp which were beautifully seasoned. I have been coming to this restaurant for over a decade and have never once been dissatisfied. They have a wide variety of tequilas to try but I found the cocktails to be a bit on the weak side, easily fixed with extra shots, but still. Our server was a delight and I am looking forward to returning soon for another delicious and satisfying meal. read more

My friend and I stopped in after work on a Monday. The hostess sat us right away. The restaurant filled up closer to 7:00P, but never felt crowded. Laz was our server and he was phenomenal. He made the guacamole tableside and it did not disappoint. At $15 it is a bit pricey (enough for 2, but maybe not 3). We were interested in shrimp dishes and Laz suggested a couple that were delicious (Shrimp Diabla and Filet Mignon Enchiladas w/ Grilled Shrimp). The sauces were wonderful and the portion sizes were spot-on. For cocktails, my friend went with the Effen Moscow Mule and I had the Japapeno Margarita (spicey - but highly recommended). We had a second round in lieu of dessert and I tried the Mojito. Sinigual is a favorite in my work neighborhood. I have hosted a baby shower lunch with 16 co-workers, made my boss take me to lunch, and had dinner with friends here. This is a great restaurant and worth a visit (or 3). Thanks, Laz! read more

I don't know how anyone could say anything negative about this Restaurant. My boyfriend tried taking me here on a first date months ago but they were closed for a private event. We tried again last night. We got there by about 6:00 so it was relatively quiet but by the time we left there nearly no tables empty. Both hostess' were extremely pleasant and must have asked more then twice how everything was during the course of our meal. The drinks were delicious and well made (try the Jalapeno Margarita). My experience at Sinigual was fantastic! I never thought I'd find such an authentic gem in the middle of midtown. (It seriously outshines the neighboring restaurants.) In particular the shrimp diabla, the sangria, and the SERVICE were excellent. Our server's name was Caroline and she was able to navigate my boyfriend's nut allergy perfectly. She knew the ingredients and even double checked with the kitchen. Let me tell you, he gets so much attitude everywhere we go for having a life-threatening allergy (!!) Caroline understood how serious it was and didn't make us feel bad for asking all our questions. She even found a way to make the situation light-hearted and humorous! And the food was excellent- and I'm from California so I'd know good mexican food! 11/10! read more

The fresh made tortillas are life. After a while they dim the lights and I thought it was too dark so he assisted and got us some candles which made it so romantic! The only complaint I have is that they have a server come around and make you fresh guacamole (which is great) but they do not tell you that is extra before they serve you. Then you get the bill and have to pay $15 for the guac (had I known this I wouldn't have gotten it) but other than that it is a fabulous place and You will be seeing me often. Due to the neighborhood's limited offerings (over-priced restaurants or dive-bar dressed up a little to pretend to be more upscale; something Asian-fusion on almost every block; lots of quick-little-joints) this place gets packed after work and during lunch, which is why I chose to visit after the lunch crowd was gone. It is gorgeous, clean, spacious, and while the food is not "real" Mexican fare like you can enjoy above 96th Street, the interesting presentations were delicious! The portions were quite filling and I am not disappointed to have ordered 2 of the most expensive dishes (lobster quesadilla and lobster enchilladas) which were very tasty! I will definitely return. I like getting what I pay for. read more

The decoration of this restaurant is gorgeous. It's so colorful and everywhere you looked was a photo opportunity. We ordered from the lunch special which was the way to go. There was a variety of plates to choose from. For starters, we got guacamole and esquites. Both really good. Once it got to our mains, it took a while and considering we were the only ones in the restaurant it was a long wait. For the mains, we both got chicken flautas which came with a side of rice and beans. The flautas were crispy and crunchy. The rice had big chunks of carrots which I didn't like but my friend enjoyed. The beans were also very delicious. I loved the aesthetics of the restaurant and def will be coming back to choose from their main menu. Everything looked delicious!!

The restaurant week menu is an absolute steal- $45 for 3 courses! The only downside is there are no vegetarian options for restaurant week, though I'm sure you can ask to see if they can make any accommodations. Since there were 2 of us dining, we got different things to maximize trying the different options. I got the watermelon salad, branzino and the churros. My husband got the salmon tartar, parpadelle in meat sauce and the salted caramel ice cream. Everything was delicious! They had a nice cocktail menu, but wild that the beer was $16... while a cocktail was $19! So definitely a place to get a cocktail or wine over beer just to get bang for your buck. Service was friendly and the interior was decorated nicely. Would recommend!

Overall, the food was quite good, with some minor issues, so this is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood! The appetizers definitely stood out more, with the bone marrow and escargot being my personal favorites of the meal; these are of course rich and savory, so catered to my tastes. The main issue I had with the food was the dry aged rib eye and the side of creamed spinach. The beef didn't taste very dry aged, as the flavor was not concentrated. The piece of steak was also pretty thin (although a bigger surface area), which made it easy to overcook. We definitely received medium well when ordering medium. The cream spinach just literally tasted like full pieces of spinach swimming in cream, not the velvety texture you would expect. I would expect the restaurant will make improvements over time, and it could be worth revisiting in a few months!

It's a great spot for after work drinks & an app. I'm not entirely sure what the indoor dining space looks like since we sat outdoors, but I couldn't imagine anyone passing up sitting on the terrace when the weather is nice. I like the Social Hour/Happy Hour options. Unfortunately the meatballs & artichokes were sold out when I arrived for my 3:45 reservation. Thought that was very odd since there's only 4 food options for social hour... In any case we shared the grilled octopus, which was phenomenal. My friend ordered it again for an entree. Unfortunately, I went for the Oricchette. It disappointingly bland. The sauce had no flavor. Tried adding fresh pepper -- didn't do much. If my Riesling wasn't so good i would have given this 3 stars. But I'm willing to come back to try other things before coming to that.

I'm not someone who typically leaves negative reviews, but my experience at Parliament was…read moredisappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. I was charged $8 for a Diet Pepsi and another $8 for each refill, ultimately paying $24 for three watered-down drinks. The menu did not list a price for sodas, and when the bartender offered me a refill, I was never told that each refill would cost another $8. Had I known that, I absolutely would not have ordered another one. What made the situation even more frustrating was how it was handled. When I questioned the bartender about the charge, I was told there was nothing he could do because "that's the way the system is." When I asked to speak with a manager, the bartender rolled his eyes. The manager then proceeded to talk down to me and explain that this is New York City and that $11 is the "usual" price for a soda from the gun, suggesting that I was somehow receiving a discount at $8. I found that response incredibly dismissive and condescending. I've worked in multiple New York City restaurants, clubs, and bars, and I've also stayed at plenty of hotels and dined at hotel restaurants and bars. I understand that prices in NYC can be high. That is not the issue. The issue is transparency and customer service. If a soda is $8 and every refill is another $8, that should be clearly communicated to the customer, especially when there is no price listed on the menu. Customers should not have to discover the cost after the fact. I have no problem paying for something when I know what I'm paying for. What I do have a problem with is feeling misled and then being talked down to when I question the charge. There was a much better way to handle this situation, and unfortunately, the response from both the bartender and manager made an already frustrating experience significantly worse.
